Ruapehu Alpine Lifts is officially in liquidation, after creditors wouldn't agree to let other ski operators take over operations on the mountain.

The company appeared at the High Court in Auckland a short time ago.

Whakapapa Holdings Chief Executive Dave Mazey is still hopeful his equity partners can stitch up a deal post-liquidation.

He spoke with Simon Barnett and James Daniels.
