Speaker 1 (00:00):
People say we inevitably become our parents, But what weight
does that carry when one of your parents as a
serial killer? Joined Melissa Jesperson more on Happy Face as
she travels back into her past searching for insight into
her father's crimes. Listen and follow on the I Heart
Radio app or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. Charlemaine
say that Jane don't get the same man you are

(00:23):
it's talky today does not discriminate. I might not have
the song today, but I got to donkey that. So
if you ever feel I need to be a donkey
Man's practice club bitches, just don't keep the day today. Yeah,
donk you today. For Thursday, February fourteenth, a k a.
Valentine's Day two thousand nineteen. Look man. For years on

(00:45):
this radio, I have come on here on Valentine's Day
and single shamed a lot of women. And you know,
I've been going to therapy, doing the work on myself
to be a better human. I think I have more
empathy now than I did in the past. And all
week long here Breakfast Club headquarters in New York City,
I have been looking in the faces of young women
that I love young queens that I call my nieces.
Whether it's Taylor, whether it's Michael, or whether it's Snyler,

(01:08):
whether it's Sam, whether it's Kendred. These are my hearts.
And I realized the day that love is a privilege. Okay,
being in a relationship with healthy relationship is a gift
from God, and envy everybody just not blessed like us. Okay.
So one of my little unblessed nieces, Taylor, came up
to me this morning his tailor, and see she around here,
somewhere she hidden me right now. Taylor said, I should

(01:29):
change the narrative this year and talk about some of
these single men. And I let the record show this
is after I walked into the studio and saw my
other niece, Sam and one of our fabulous interns of
Leah blowing up pink and white balloons, and I said,
what y'all doing? They said, we're having a self love
party today. Blessed they little hearts. Man drop one of
clues bombing and bless their little Now. When I said

(01:51):
to Taylor, are you going to the self love party?
She snapped at me, Why do you think I don't
got no date? I said, whoa, whoa, whoa. All right,
don't take that, you know, I'm so lonely on Valentine's Day,
aggression out on me? Okay. I believe in self love,
all right. Your first, last, and best love is self love.
So if you don't truly love yourself, it's impossible for
you to love someone else. So having a self love

(02:13):
party on Valentine's Day is great, all right if you're single. Okay,
If you're single and that's what you want to do,
God bless you, and Tail is right. The narrative doesn't
need to shift a little bit because it's not just
women who are single out here. I saw a man
this morning at five fifty am, a white man in
a tie at the light, driving a white Mercedes Bins
listening to Unbreak my Heart by Tony Braxton. You know

(02:35):
how sad and the pressure you gotta be to be
listening to Tony Braxton Unbreak my Heart at five in
the morning. It's m and you're in the white bands
with a tie. You on your way to work listening
to this. It's real in the field if everybody's song,

(02:56):
so I understand it's real if for everybody, so, Tail,
I'm gonna take your advice there. I'm gonna take your
advice here, okay. And I'm gonna shift the narrative a
little because I think all you single people need to
shift your mindset. See, the law of attraction is real.
Whatever you say you want in life is what you
will receive. I don't want you women to be defensive
this morning. I can feel attention coming from the side
of the room. Okay, alright, I want you to be open. Alright.

(03:19):
See if you keep talking that you don't need a man,
all men of trash. You're so happy to be alone.
Guess what you're gonna find yourself being alone? And this
year has to be the last year of women going
home at night baled up in the fetal position, trying
to sleep with a broken heart. We don't want that
for you, okay. I want you to make it without him.

(03:42):
All right. This does not have to be your life. Okay.
I know that you are upset beyond the left. You
hanging all right. She told you all to be independent.
She celebrated you single ladies. Oh yes she did, Yes,
she did Remember this that. Remember that, Remember that, remember that,
Remember that right right that little hand. You know what

(04:03):
I'm saying, she told you that me myself, and I
is all yeah, okay, yeah, alright, no doubt, no doubt. Yeah,
Well guess what she got me myself? I sean blue,
sir and roomy. Now, okay, And I know it's frustrating
and you should always be your own best friend, but

(04:23):
you don't have to be that alone, all right. I
need all my folks to come in here. Taylors already here, Taylor,
go get Sam, oh boy, go get a lea. Okay,
Sam coming out, Sam, Alia come here? Any other single
ladies out there, any anybody else needs some of this
good energy that I'm about to put out. Okay, Sam
and Elia? Are they're throwing themself a self love party

(04:45):
up here? Um something? No, you cannot. Don't mean you
can't be at the self love party? Right, You're right, Ali,
You're right, you're right. Self love is beautiful. I want
you all to love yourself. But we don't know, Okay,
they don't know what's happening exactly, all right, exactly, but

(05:05):
I I want you all to love yourselves, but I
also want you all to claim what you want. Okay, Uh, ladies,
if you can hear the sound of my voice. I
want to send positive energy out to you. I want
you to claim what's yours. I want you to speak
it into exist this Tailor, don't you hide behind Sam
and the Lea. You come up here and you get
into this prayer. Donate some campaign too for you guys. Oh,
courtesy of White Kao Cyrus from Death. You got all

(05:30):
kind of sponsors. Got Erry Barry, she got pro Flowers,
and you got Champagne. We got White Kao Cyrus from Death. Jam. Okay, continue,
Let's do the single woman's prayer. Okay. Why do you
know a single Because God touch my heart this morning
and told me the words to say. Bow your heads

(05:52):
and let us pray. Okay, do y'all have your sheets
with you because I want you all to speak this
in fortune. Taylor, you come up. You gotta stop it. Tailor.
You won't get exactly what you keep asking for, which
is nothing. Now I lay me down to sleep. Now
come on, ladies, Now I lay me down to sleep.

(06:15):
I pray for a man who's not a creed, one
who's handsome, smart and strong, who's not afraid to admit
when he is wrong, one who thinks before he speaks.
When he promises to call. He doesn't wait six weeks.
I pray that he is gamefully employed and won't when
he pulls out my chair, open my door besides just

(06:38):
my back, and begs to do more. Oh save me.
A man who make love to my mind? And it's
what to say. When I asked how fat is my behind?
The answer is yes, the black girls one who will
make love to my body's an itching. He brings me
a sandwich to when he goes to the kitchen. I
pray this man would love to know and never compare

(06:59):
me to my best friend, and never compare you to
your best friend. Thank you, And and now I just
wait what for? I know you will send him before
it's too late, or you could just manu for money.
Now when I'm playing Lonely Girl, Taylor and Aliyah said

(07:23):
just prayer with zero into nothing for God sent that
prayer to his spam folder. That means tonight, when you
put your playlists on shuffle, God is gonna give you
signs like, hey there, Lonely Girl, Okay, Sam, gonna be fine. Sam,
I'm gonna keep what she just asked for. Okay, but
y'all to y'all playlists gonna play this right after Lonely Girl, Kid,

(07:52):
this is positive. Do you want to say the prayer
again this week? And if you don't say that prayer
with some of thusia, then just what God is gonna
play on your playlist right before you go to sleep?
And that last here it's your pillow? No, No, the

(08:13):
p d the pig one. You know what the pig
one is. No. For people with relationships, No, I don't
know what Teddy Pendergrass, No, Bobby won't Matt, I don't
even know what this one is it. We don't have
the all of this. Okay, before we finish Ladies with

(08:35):
Pat after me. Yes, I'm single, and you'll have to
be amazing to change that. I don't have the big one.
You'll have to be amazing to say that I'd rather
be alone than with Charlotte. That's how Prayer for the day.
