that's the bottom line.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Hello, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
So you were commenting on how neat it is over
there on you on your side of the console today.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
That part is so clean, and you know what I'm saying,
Like the white glove thing can go easy and it
comes ain't no.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
The spit buckets go on to you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Like, but though you know, like, uh, his president is
always felt because I got the crop dustin, I'm gonna
have to crop dustin.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Oh did he be one in your vicinity? He's got
something loose in his plumbing, doesn't he. Hello.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I mean like, but it's like he's like a he's
like an eighty year old man with a six year
old kid mentality.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, yeah, but it works though that part. This is
a Diary of a Black Man.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
This is a segment you stop by every week and
just kind of you just let it fly on on
whatever you feel is like on your mind. I did
observe you earlier participating in what appears to be some
sort of makeshift summer camp that's going on in the
hallways here this week.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yes, yes, another station, one of our sisters stations that.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
We h it's magic magic ya okay, I didn't know.
We're one family here man. Yeah. Yeah, it's Chad and
Leslie is magic, like you say.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
And they got a bunch of kids for the little
summer camp and stuff, you know, and I kind of
like kids.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I got seven of my.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Own, all girls.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Hello, all girls. But just the crazy part, you know,
I ain't gonna say nothing, Yes I am. I ain't
seen no black kids up there? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I was? I was hoping you would.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
I wanted to ask you because, first off, okay, obviously
that that's your observation. My first observation was I didn't
see any dodgeball going on.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
No, no, no, no, note you can't do that.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Then I can't do that.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
That's that's our and the and the freaking uh what
was that the ball of death on the screen that
you had to hit, had to hit round and.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Go round and round. The tether ball. Yeah, oh my god,
I knock your eyes out. You don't know what you're doing, yes, sir.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
And the trampolines, the Merry go Round made of steel.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Burn you get yourself third degree burns going down the
stainless steel slide.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Hello, Hello, I mean you can on that? Okay, good time?
And the big old what was that the dome we
saw calling it the house. Yeah, no, No, wasn't no
bounce house. It's the steel balls that you had to
clamb up and stuff. It was like a like a
big old dome. And you know what I'm saying, like,
can you get to the top and reach you that's hanging?
He can't hate them on fall, you know, you know
(03:04):
what I'm saying, Like, you know.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
It's like one of them. It had all kind of
colors and stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Did did you uh did you actually ever go to
summer camp as a kid growing up?
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Uh? The summer camp that we went to in the
hood was like, uh going to the park on Saturdays,
and getting hot dogs and hamburgers and playing horseshoes and
fishing and swimming.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
We didn't go to uh we started Uh. It was
one right No no, no, no, no no. That was downtown.
I stayed in the hole off of One Center and
the on Center. We didn't have the rec center and stuff.
We had Hanky Park. But Hanky Park was for the
up of the people, because you know what I'm saying,
we didn't. We didn't stay in in the home. We
(03:45):
stayed in an apartment. So you know what I'm saying,
like we was the roughimans the people that know know
you know what I'm saying, like, well, no we don't.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
That's why we have this segment because you are educating
a lot of us about a lot of things.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
True. True.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Now this is the case, and a lot of people
say this and say that, but this is the truth.
We had Hanky Park had a pool, Olympic side.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Pool, paramour area.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
No, sir, this is in the black hood down by
Richmond Heights and corfonce shows.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
I'm gonna bring you up all right now.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Richmond Height, Confege shows had Hanky Park and then the
whole had On Center that was the mainscript that going
now across John Young and stuff and passing the hospital,
and then he had uh On Center School elementary school,
you know what I'm saying. And then across there with
Jones High, and right there on the corner was Nate
Newton and his other brother. They dad on the store
(04:44):
there and he used to give us sandwiches and stuff
long as we was, you know, going to school, doing
the right thing. And then you know what I'm saying,
like reforcement, yes, sir, yes, sir. He took care of
the neighborhood. And then across the little field before they
built all that little soccer field and baseball field that
it was an open field, and then we had Jones High.
And then across Obt you used to have the Orlando
(05:05):
Drive in on the red where the seven eleven citing
that and the city is, and right across the street
was a bunch of little homes and stuff like that.
And then you go and then you hit Carver Court.
That was the projects over there, and then you go
across from Carver Court, you go all the way down
Anderson and you hit Paramore and Paramore goes all the
way to the end of Church Street. That was the
(05:26):
Black Hotel, the Black Carver Theater, that's where all the
blacks went to the theater at Carver Theatre.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
And then on down.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Church Street used to have a police department, and then
uh you had Houey and then across who you had
division division.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
People. Now listen, now, is that true?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
The division really really meant blackness side white, that side
the city.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
The city officials will deny that.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
They can deny all they want to, but I've seen
it because I was there. I even know about the
tunnels up under that Angel built that went from the
beaching to the Angie built.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
It's tunnels up under there. Really, yes they still there.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Yes, well they won't talk about it, but yes, sirdays
access them. Who again, all right, I wasn't always the
up and standing citizen. I was so so you know
what I'm saying, Like I was kind of privy to
certain little.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Things as long as you had the do long as
you had the money.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
But they used to have the little quarter slots where
you put it in your little peak shows.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
They have little peak shows.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
No, no, no, no, that was in the freaking uh
that was in the Angel belt, That was in the
angiebel but that was only the first stage.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
If you make it past the second stage, the peak
shows in downtown Orlando, Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
AnyWho, But you know what I'm saying, like, I'm then
seriously and people that know they know. You know, have
you ever heard of somebody by the name of Bob Snow?
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, hey know how you doing, Paramo?
Speaker 2 (07:02):
You you uh you should have been one of the
guys who hadn't put on that time capsule.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
They just dissembled.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
No, no, yeah, you should have been because you know
what I'm saying, like everything was done for a reason,
everything was done to control.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
I'm saying, the new time capsule that they just did,
it's gonna be dug up another you know.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Yeah, they get but then they take my ancestors once
again said no what you from the Brown clan?
Speaker 1 (07:28):

Speaker 3 (07:30):

Like and and and it isn't it?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Is it worked? You see a lot of changes in
this town, Yes.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Yes, sir, sir, I see a lot of changes. Until
you see until you get hit the meet and grind
the things. You know what I'm saying, The meet and
grind I think is like, uh more even more. You
know what I'm saying, Uh this man had done a
lot and his family is doing a lot more, you
know what I'm saying. But at the same time that
the underpage of what he's done. You know what I'm saying,
(08:00):
a lot of people don't realize that that all the
mushrooms and out there in zel wood and stuffing. You remember,
I used to be so stinky out there and all that. Well,
he brought them greenhouses and he brought all of them
and guess what he changed them into, changed them into
marijuana plants.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
And you know what I'm saying. He is one of
the most He is one.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
He's probably the biggest marijuana groy in the state of
Florida besides Mike Tyson.
