Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well them do it Broncos Country tonight, but with all Brannick, Ferguson,
Grant Smith. I from out at Sam's Number three in Glendale.
You guys don't get on out here. They got great food,
great drinks. It's always great time out here. I already
had the chicken fried chicken with the eggs over hearts,
hash browns with cheese, sour dough toast. I'm at breakfast
(00:21):
for dinner.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's one of my favorites. Why the hell do you
put all this?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
You got like a knapsack in the back that you
just kind of when I'm not looking, you just scrape
all the food in the knapsack and just tired up and.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Then shovel it directly into my head.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Well, well no, because it's just like I don't get it.
I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
And you've been around long enough that you've seen me
eat and you know I can put food.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Away, Yeah I have, but it's still astonishing, like just like.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Shannon, Yeah, Shannon puts the foot away too.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yes, Shannon gets this. What does it you call whatever? This? Six? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
He did, like did like two of them completed the
circuit or whatever.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
And then the last time we were here, didn't you
eat like a plate of nothing but just hash browns?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Well he was six orders of hash browns with cheese
on it. So yeah, Grant was disgusted when I went
to Taco Bell and eight to fourteen tacos. I think
that was the one that finally disgusted. Here. Let's go
out to the ka commentsarate of the hotline, though, and
bring on one of our favorites who's not disgusted except
maybe what I'm talking about by eating habits, and that's Parker.
Gabriel Parker, how are you doing this seating?
Speaker 4 (01:16):
I'm slightly disgusted, but otherwise and do its great?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Most most people are most people are are are flummixed
by the amount of food that I can put away.
I really do like just eat an enormous amount of food,
which is you know, I guess I can thank the metabolism,
although it's caught up with me. You know, in recent years.
One thing that's not getting caught up with right now
the Broncos offense is they've faced a depleted Saints team
and depleted Panthers team but managed to make the offense
(01:39):
look a lot more fluid. They've even introduced tempo that
we've been talking about for a couple of weeks. What
have you noticed with the growth and maturation of Bonix
in this offense so far?
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Yeah, I mean especially I think he's sort of you know,
he's taking a step sort of each week that he's played.
And it's easy to say, oh, you know, especially over
the last six weeks when they've won five of the games,
but I think you've seen, you know, he looks a
little bit more comfortable and there's still some things. Obviously,
there's a lot of things he's got to get better at,
(02:09):
and there's a lot of room to grow. But the
thing that was really just jumped out against Carolina was
the play from the pocket and sort of within structure,
I guess more because some of it was you know,
they rolled them out or the naked boot and stuff
like that, but just sort of like on time, on schedule,
the way to plays designs they hit at a pretty
(02:30):
high rate on that stuff. And again, like some of
that is because of just like where Carolina's at, which
isn't a really bad place. But overall, you know, you
saw the legs really on display in New Orleans. You
saw the arm and the throwing ability on display against
the Panthers, and those two things sort of combined. Not
(02:51):
only were they more than enough to win, you know,
help the Broncos win those two games, but it sort
of gives you a feel for, you know, where bow
is right now as a player, and also gives you
a little bit of a glimpse of the player that
they are trying to build in a consistent way and unlock,
you know, in the future too.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Well.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
The defense has been extraordinary and they're part of why
the Broncos record is what it is.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
But we keep continuing.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
To see different players show up every single week is
somewhat different.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
That's why I love this defense. I love watching him play.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
But there's a guy who we really don't really talk
about that much, and that's Ja Kwan McMillan. When when
you watch him play, what is it that comes to
mind as you see him move around and make plays
out there on the field.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Sometimes I watch him play and I just can't believe
that he sat on the bench for four weeks last year.
Like he's obviously gotten better, but it was just an
instant turnaround when they moved on from a Sang Baski
and put him in the lineup last year, and it coincided,
I think if I remember right, like with Johnson Sinon's
coming back and all of that, Like there were a
few things happened around the same time. But j Mack
(04:02):
has played at a high level just literally since they
put him in the lineup, and he's gotten better. And
the thing about him this year is that he hadn't
until he made that incredible pick on Sunday, he hadn't
made a lot of the sort of eye popping turnover
type of plays this year. And it's funny because it's
something I actually talked to Jim Leonard about a couple
(04:24):
of weeks ago. And this is Jim Leonard's first year
coaching here in Denver, and so obviously it's his first
year coaching Jay Mac. And he said, yeah, you just
every time you're around him, you know, he wants to
make the big play. That's he's used to it. He's
good at it, that's what he does. And so when
he goes through the stretch where he hasn't made a
(04:47):
lot of you know, it's not picked, it's not force
fumbles and all that, he's like, I remind him all
the time that he's playing great, that he's really helping
our defense, that he's doing things that not a lot
of guys can do, and to just that's fine. Just
keep doing that, don't force it, keep doing what you're doing.
In the big plays will come and obviously we saw
(05:07):
it on Sunday and it just has the feeling of
one of those where you know, now they'll go on
a run at the.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Bunch of plays like that chocolate Parker Gabriel here.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
You know, the the Brookos wins have coincided with some
depleted teams, whether you look at the Bucks, whether you
look at the Saints, whether you look at the Panthers,
But but also have coincided with being able.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
To run the football more effectively and getting out there
and committing to it. As we look at both those items,
we're coming up on a team that's not very depleted,
although kind of stink against the pass actually in the
Baltimore Ravens. How do you how do you sort of
attack this team because you've you've kind of, I don't
want to say you've coasted through your last couple of games.
These are NFL football teams, and you know, coast through games,
(05:48):
But how do you how do you sort of prepare
yourself for this next three game stretch against the Baltimore Ravens, uh,
the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yeah, we we And I've been doing this since May.
I mean, you know, you lump Baltimore and Kansas City
and as the back to backs on the road. But
the thing about him is they're so different. Those two
challenges are going to be so different. I mean, Baltimore
has given up a ton of big plays this year,
especially like you said, Ben in the passing game, but
they're a juggernaut offensively. And then Kansas City, like, obviously
(06:20):
they've still got that dude, and they've got Travis Kelce
and you know they're they're trying to figure out sort
of what they are this year offensively, and it's the
defense that's been really really good. And so, you know,
I think against Baltimore, Sean Payton said an interesting thing
after the game where he's like, you know, you it's
about how you win each game. And sometimes you think
(06:41):
maybe you know, he was telling a sorry about Bill
Parcels that he came in once and thought maybe you
know he was gonna say everyone thought he would say,
we've got to grind it out and hold the ball
and keep this offense off the field. And he came
in and said, we've got to out score him, And
I just sort of wonder if that's where his mind's
at with Baltimore, where you know, they know they're gonna
have to make plays in the passing game and all that.
(07:03):
I mean, I think they're better off trying to keep
Lamar and Derrick Henry off the field. But I just
wouldn't be surprised if this is one of those games
where they go on the road and he presses the
ultra aggressive button from the start.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Now we've seen this Broncos offense take on a different
role or have somewhat of what I call the facelift
to get to this point, which to allow both Nickson
the offense to stay in the rhythm. And once again,
we know Baltimore they want to run the ball and
their defense much better from a run defense standpoint than
the pass defense standpoint. Do you see somewhat of another
(07:41):
facelift for the Broncos offense when they face Baltimore on Sunday?
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean they have sort of played quite
a bit differently and Sean Payton talks a lot about
it being a week to week league and the game
plan league, and certainly the Broncos have taken that approach
offensively this year, and I wouldn't be surprised. The thing
about that Tampa game that stands out is after obviously
I think bo is what four or four for seventy
(08:07):
one yards on the opening drive, it was up up
the field, down the field, you know, aggressive, you know,
pushing the ball vertically. But after that, that was one
of the games where they really got into a pretty
good rhythm of controlling the ball and being on the
field a lot, but doing it you know, early in
the game, through the passing game and you know, the
(08:29):
short stuff and the intermediate stuff and all of that,
and so like to me like that, that seems likely
to me, Like I just I could be wrong. I've
been wrong before when trying to figure out what, you know,
how Sean is going to call a game, or what
he thinks, you know, needs to happen in a game.
But I tend to think they're going to come out throwing,
and I tend to think that they're going to, you know,
(08:50):
one of the things they've done really well the last
two weeks against bad defenses, obviously, but one of the
things they've done that they weren't doing before that is
they've even when they don't score, they at least get
a first down or a couple first downs. They moved
the ball a little bit. They have gone I don't
know that they've gone three and out outside of turnovers
the last couple of weeks, and so that to me, like,
(09:11):
I think that they think they can do that and
play that way with the passing game being sort of
the engine of that, and it wouldn't be it wouldn't
be surprising to me if that's how they tried to play.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Talking with Parker, Gabriel Parker, you know a lot of
people talk about the trade deadline coming up with the
Broncos should be buyers or sellers. We talked a little
bit about it this past week with you know, potentially
Baron Browning and Greg Dulsich, you know, maybe being shopped
a little bit by the Broncos. What have you heard
about that and what have you heard about the possibility
of being buyers as well?
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Yeah, I mean, I think, I mean, I think, honestly,
you know, just looking at it, to me, like they're
gonna buy it almost It doesn't absolutely have to come
along with selling, but they have to do something because
they just really don't have a lot of you know,
flexibility cap wise, and so like it could be the
old by end cell right, Like I think, you know,
those two guys you mentioned, like those are those are
(10:05):
sort of natural candidates given where the roster is. I
still don't think it just seems to me, like, take
a guy like Baron, he's had his injury history, he's
a free agent after the year. That to me feels
like one where if you deal him away, because that's
a position of strength, you are just asking, you're baiting
the football gods that you're going to stay healthy at
that position the rest of the year, and it's obviously
(10:27):
a critical one. And then you know, they could get
Drew Sanders back here at some point and all that
and add another guy to that room. Obviously he's been
on pup the whole year. So to me, like I
wouldn't I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they make
a move. But you know, Champayton has said pretty consistently
that they like the team, you know, as construed, And
(10:48):
on top of that, just with where they're at CAPWAZ,
I mean one point six one point seven million in space.
There's they just don't have a lot of wiggle room.
And frankly, like most of the guys that they could
restruct sure kick money down the road for or whatever
to create more space, Like they've done it with a
lot of those guys already. And so it's not to
say they couldn't figure it out, but it just to me,
(11:11):
I don't know you guys think. I mean, to me,
it doesn't look quite as simple as saying, here's a
guy we like, here's a team that's willing to trade,
let's do it. They have to take into consideration sort
of like where their own financial constraints are at this
point too.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Well, with that frame of mind and talking about consistency,
I mean, over the past two weeks, we see somewhat
of a growth or evolution of Troy Franklin, and we
know that both he and Bow has somewhat of connection
going back to Oregon, I mean, do you foresee that
(11:45):
potential connection continue to grow or the team put more
of an emphasis on it where they count they are
the drivers to that. They put something together to tell Bo, Hey,
listen on these particular plays. We want you to focus
own Troy Franklin to make sure he becomes more of
a consistent player.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Do you see the team doing that?
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Yeah, that's a good question. I mean, Sean Payton talked
a lot about tags, right, like a player's tag for
this and that, and it was interesting. I thought, I'm
the one where little Jordan Humphrey ran sort of like
the cross and up and they and and both threw
it down the field to him, and it was just
sort of overthrown a little bit, like, you know, Troy
Franklin was running sort of a big over in the
(12:27):
opposite direction. I thought, looking at it, I was like,
you know, a little bit surprised. Maybe. I'm sure you
know LJ was probably you know where the play was
supposed to go. But you know, Troy ran by his guy,
and that's that's part of his skill set at this point,
is that he just has the ability to run past
defensive backs. And not every guy that the Broncos have
(12:47):
is is in that camp. And so I think you'll
see them continue to try to find ways to get
the ball in Troy Franklin's hands. I think bow Mix
will continue to try to get the ball in Troy
Franklin's hand. And at the same time, like one of
the things that has made them effective on offense, when
they've been effective on offense is that they're getting the
(13:09):
ball to a bunch of different players. And you know,
I think both Knicks completed passes the ten different guys
last night. It was eleven against Las Vegas, I think.
And so you know they're going to keep playing, you know,
the system, Sean and and the system. But obviously, like
if there's a guy who you're like, yeah, we need
to get the ball in this guy's hands more. I mean,
I think Troy Franklin, probably especially by the end of
(13:31):
the season, is going to be pretty close to the
top of that list.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I guess the sub question there is is does Troy
Franklin's hands going to actually hang on to that ball?
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yeah? I mean, yeah, that's the thing. I mean, I
think you can say, you know, same for Marvin Mims, right,
I mean, both those guys, they're young players, and both
of them have been in position to make big plays
and you're just sort of waiting for them to become
the guy that that when there's a play there to
be made, they figure out a way to make it.
And if either of them unlocked that ability, they can
(14:07):
be really dangerous. And if they don't, you know, they're
gonna be They're gonna be frustrating to some degree until
they do. So there's some big plays there to be made.
I'd like to see both put the ball a little
bit more on the money on some of them. But certainly,
you know, and especially I think with those two guys,
there are moments where you're like, Okay, you know, you're
(14:27):
a young guy, you're getting used to this whole NFL thing,
but go get the ball, you know, and and if
you do, really good things are gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Looking forward to it, looking forward to the game this weekend.
It's gonna be interesting as we watch, uh, you know,
the Broncos defense and the Ravens offense square off best
per play on both sides of the ball. So that's
gonna be a fun whether. And of course we've got
the A crew announcing that one with the Nansen Romo. Parker,
we always appreciate your time, Bud.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Yeah, you bet having a good week absolutely.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Park Gabriel, I always love talking to him about the Broncos.
Getting his perspective on thing. You got an NFL six
pack ahead of us here in a few minutes. We'll
get to that here in just a few You seem
to push back a little bit about Troy Franklin hanging
on to the ball. We had another lapse in concentration
there against the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Well, it's not the fact of me kind of pushing back.
I just know being a young player in this league
and struggling and just you just trying to find your way.
You're just trying to find a play to build confidence
that you can go out and do the same things
that you saw or that you knew that you could
do when you were in college. And I think Troy
(15:36):
is in that situation where he is struggling with his
confidence and seeing some of those catches not go through
his hand, but to see him go through his hand
instead of all those in it makes a little difficult.
I know some fans are somewhat turning on him, but
I say this, and it's not a justification, but the
(15:56):
pass of the game that he dropped, man, that's a
catch to make because it goes back to tracking the
ball and seeing the ball through your hands and on
that particular play.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
You know, once again not a justification, but calling it
what it.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Is, trying to stay in bounds at the same time,
those plays are really difficult.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Now, going back to I believe it.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Was the Rainers game, that's the one that he should
have he should have caught. But on Sunday that one
I gave him a little grace beer because I know
how difficult making that catch can't be.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
But then you know what happens. People see all these
things and that becomes your reputation. It's enough to drive
you to drink. And we got an NFL six pack
codo next live from Sam's Number three and Glenn Dale.
Shannon is mentioning, No, he is not live. He's telling
me not to mention him. So I'm going to remntion
that Shannon's got is right there next to me producing
this show. He's wearing many hats tonight. He's got three hats,
(16:50):
three hats on three hats only three three hats okay,
five six six hund yeros a text line. We've got
the NFL six pack.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
It's time for the NFL. I'm gonna trader insight and
insight information you can't find anywhere else No. Six the
top six NFL headline.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
What Kyle Shannon said. Christian McCaffrey hasn't had a setback
since he began rehab. Forty Night's running back Christan McCaffrey
will remain it's sat of Clara this week, according uh
working to return from bilateral Achilles tendonitis forda Niners plan
for him to return to practice next week following the
team's off weekend. If all goes well, return to the
(17:30):
lineup in week ten. According to coach Kyle Shanahan on
k nb R today, we hope it does go that way.
It's been trending that way. It's been ever since we
shut him down and gone through these real slow steps.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
He's getting there.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
He hadn't been a setback and hopefully has a real
good week. We can get him in a practice next week,
which would be huge for us. McCaffrey has not played
this season when on IR September fourteenth, once the Uniners
opened his practice window the twenty one days to activate
him the active roster. Otherwise he will revert to the
IR for the remainder of the season. How big will
it be for then to get Christian McCaffrey back.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
It would be very important for the Niners for so
so many reasons, because have a Christan McCaffrey in the line,
that makes life easier to call plays.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
At mccalis shanahan. For more important, it makes life easier.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
If you are rock purty, all you have to do
is turn around, hand it off or throw it to
Christan McCaffrey and he's going to make you look good.
But also, looking at the injuries that the forty nine
ers to sustained to their offense, to have someone back
like that for to give that offenense a bolt.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Of confidence, Yeah, I think so too. And mainly I'm
just doing this for my fantasy team because I took
McCaffrey to burn overall and I've been sitting there watching
him ride my pie and all season long, and I
need the boost. Christian, We need you back. Next story,
two Patriots defensive tackled Von Godshaw. I made an honest
assessment of where Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is physically now.
(18:54):
After New England's twenty five to twenty two victory on Sunday,
Godshaw sent of Rogers Hall of Fame quarterback. Hate to
see him go out that way. He definitely didn't look
the same. I could run him down and catch him.
He doesn't look mobile at all. Rogers hadn't heard Godshaw's comments,
but he didn't argue, saying he's probably right. I was hurting,
but I feel better today. Rogers tore his achilles in
the fourth play last season, but said that injury hasn't
(19:15):
been an issue this season. He's mispracticed time with hamstring, knee,
and ankle injuries this season. He's been on the practice
report this week with knee and hamstring injuries, but was
estimated as a full participant. Rodgers said he's taking care
of himself NonStop and feeling better this week. I expect
to be able to do a lot more this week.
I'll be under center, hopefully back to my faster than
god Shaw speed. Rogers has twelve touchdowns seven interceptions. Passer
(19:38):
rating at eighty five to one ranks twentieth in the
NFL and below two rookies. Not as good as I
would have hoped, he said, I've got to play better,
gotta be more efficient and not turn the ball over.
When we think of where Aaron Rodgers is thus.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Far, well Rogers at this stage of his career is
more quicker than fast.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Lunch pail guy right high football.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Like you real coach his son, absolutely, because Rogers was
never that fast. I guess that the term the fleet
of foot and having some guy call you out for
you not being able to perform. It's always difficult, and
we hate to see players that we enjoy watch playing
(20:19):
or just to say, a boxer who is having one
fight too many. It seems as though Rogers is entering
into that exelon where you don't want to be. But
I mean for him, he still has some season remaining
to change people's minds. But once again, if the Jets
don't win the games moving forward, you can no longer
(20:41):
blame coaches who are currently are no formally on the roster.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
You gotta start looking at Aaron Rodgers himself. You do.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Next story three. Speaking of Aaron Rodgers, Rogers today to
Rich Samite said to Thomas Morstad that he's introduced him
to quote, the Fountain of Youth. The punter has introduce
used him to cayenne, pepper and water, and Rogers says,
he's quote dashing up with it and feels great physically.
This week cayenne pepper and water can have some small
(21:10):
health benefits in small doses, including pain relief and inflammation relief. However,
in large doses can give you an irregular heartbeat and
or elevated blood blood pressure if you use it too
much and have had cases of myocardial infarction, and those
are heart attacks for people who have used cayenne pepper
in too large a dose. What do we think of
Aaron Rodgers cayenne pepper fountain of youth?
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Well, I don't know too much about this being a
fountain of youth, but I thought you were gonna lean
more towards water and cayenne pepper and honey and lemon
that I know people have used in years pass to
flush and cleanse the sea their kind of body.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
But maybe Aaron's trying to cleanse his season.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Maybe that's what it is. I don't really know what
the Yeah, the thunder introduce you to this. I don't
know if I'm taking thunder remedies.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I mean, punters are kind of like isolated individuals.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Yeah, usually the wacky guy on the team, right, So.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Sometimes you have to go outside the framework of tradition
to try something that might work.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
We know Aaron Rodgers has no problem doing it right.
Next story four, Jalen Hurts is committed to learning from
last year's failures. Last year, things got started great for
the Eagles and then finished horribly. If the team's third
straight win moved the Eagles to five and two this year,
Jalen Hurts was asked whether last year had been forgotten.
He said absolutely, I think that's where we are. I
(22:34):
think my goals to keep it where it is a
lot of opportunity in front of this. We've got a
new team, new year, new energy, and I think we've
done that. There may be I'm not going to be
naive and tell you that I don't look back and
say I'm not gonna learn from the moment, but it's
about being wise and our decision making, notably stand together
as a football team. After two and two start, the
Eagles are starting to stack up wins and get to
six and two on Sunday against the Jags. After that,
(22:56):
the schedule starts to get a little bit more interesting
with a Sunday to Thursday, no Awboys to come and
turn around. What do we think of the Eagles thus
far this year?
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Me off to somewhat of a slow start on Once again,
this was one of those teams coming into the season
that most people had them maybe in their top five
the top six as far as reaching the super Bowl.
But once again, the league is the league. Guys get injured,
do you have adequate backups? Levonte Smith, AJ brown Sakwon
(23:26):
Barkley Jalen hurts to me, when you have a roster
full of those types of players, you always have an opportunity,
but as can you close the deal.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
So I don't shift all the blame. They're only blame
to the offense.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
I go back to the defense because a lot of
former first round draft picks are not really performing the
way they need to.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
But I still have the Eagles being one of those
top teams.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
They have looked alright, and Vic Fangil taking over the
defense has certainly been a bit different for them this year.
They're not struggling as much as they did with the
combination of Matt Patrician showing the side last year. Next
Story five and Battle Lions receiver Jamison Williams has another
issue to deal with. Currently serving a two game ped suspension,
(24:10):
Williams faces a charge for carrying a concealed weapon in
a motor vehicle via WXYZ. The Detroit Police Department is
looking into why Williams wasn't formally arrested. At the time
of the incident on October eighth, Williams was a passenger
a car his brother was driving. The vehicles pulled over
for speeding. Two guns were in the car, one registered
to williams brother, one register to Williams whim his brother
(24:30):
had a concealed pistol license. Williams does not body camp.
Footage shows Williams repeatedly telling the offer officer he plays
for the Lions. Eventually what Williams said, I got the
gun for protection. Do you guys know where I live at?
Williams was handcuff but in the back of a squad car.
After a supervisor ride with the scene a sergeant whose
cell phone cell phone wallpaper is Alliance logo by the
(24:52):
way you could see the video, calls were made. Williams
was eventually a released. The sergeant can be heard saying
to the arresting officers, I'm so at at you too.
The Lions issued a statement saying Jamison made us aware
immediately that he was a passenger at routine traffic stop.
We discussed the incident kept the league and form what
we know ton't understand. He was released of that incident
or citation. Williams will be facing both prosecution by authorities
(25:14):
and a potential suspension by the league. Last year, he
was suspended for violating the league gambling policy. Currently suspended
for the PD policy. Jamison Williams, what do we think.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Talk about a guy on a be on a lookout poster.
But here's what's interesting about this particular situation. The fact
that Okay, well he is a Detroit Lion and we
have seen former Denver Broncos or you know, use it before.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Don't you know who I am? I'm a Denver Bronco
in a lot.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Of those cases, it doesn't really help you out this
way worse makes it makes it worse because some officers
trying to make or will make a name off of
your discretions. But once again, you hate to see a
player who's had somewhere of the early trouble pass in
the league find himself in another disappointing situation.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Yeah, you're on a good football team with good coaches
and everything else that you can't get right. Man, Jamison Williams.
All tout in the world, all speed in the world.
It can't get right. You had a gambling issue last year,
you got a PD suspension this year, and now you're
facing a weapons charge. It's it's you know, you start
to get to the point where teams wonder is a
juice worth the squeeze Next story six left tackle Christian
Darra saw out for the year, Vikings made a move
(26:26):
to replace him. The NFL media and the Vikings required
Cam Robinson via trade with the Jaguars. The Vikings are
sending draft pick compensation to the Jacks. Robinson was a
second round pick in twenty seventeen. As his entire career
with the Jacks has ninety one career regular season games,
all starts. He's in the final year of his contract
at a base salary of sixteen point twenty five million,
(26:46):
but the Jacks will were paying any of that amount
has not yet been reported. In Minnesota lost Darris Cerril
to torn ACL and MCL during first half garbage time
last Thursday night against the Rams. Nick, you and I
saw that play. The fight. Kings host the Colts on
Sunday Night Football the following weekend, Robertson will be back
in Jackson over a game against his former team. What
(27:08):
we think about the Vikings acquiring Cam Robinson.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
I think it was a great move for them. Darrosaul
the left tackle.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Obviously we watched the game when he got injured, and
I mean, Minnesota is still one of those teams that
they're still in the conversation, and you don't want to
have a slew of injured guys, especially on an offensive
line with Sam Donald playing the way that he's been playing.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
And I'm not saying that this is now moved.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
That propels them into the super Bowl in New Orleans,
but it definitely gives them the chance and that's all
you want at the end of the day.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Yeah, I mean, you know, he's getting a chance to
go back and play against your former team in a
couple of weeks. He's gotta be kind of fun too.
He gets to go play the Jags two weeks from
getting flipped, getting traded for that might have a little
extra incentive.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Well not just extra incentive, but the idea of since
you're coming from that team, you can pass along some
of that information to your current team about what your
former team is doing. It's like talking about like an
ex girlfriend to your new girlfriend, So like that have
you done a lot of that?
Speaker 2 (28:10):
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Huh, that's the NFL six.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
You wouldn't be okay.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
So you have to admit in those types of situations,
once you get with the new person, somehow it's gonna
come up, first, second, third date, whatever.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Hey you know, oh you're single? Well why are you single?
What happened?
Speaker 1 (28:34):
When you're relevant? History and details right now? But you know, yeah,
you were talking about but you know, and I'm like,
what do you do that? After you can get into
the relations.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
You don't bring up the X.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
You never do that.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
Well, sometimes it comes up like like, Okay, my wife
and I at times we talk about our exes because
if it wasn't for the buffoonery, we would.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Have never That's that's fair. But you don't ever want
to do the compared well used to make me who.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
You are her?
Speaker 3 (29:07):
First of all, you never want you never make it
your parison in that particular way to your your current
person ever, or your ex or even with your mom
or that's.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Not how my mom, right, that's how did well?
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Next thing? You know, I picture food being thrown against
the wall.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
And say go tell your mama that feeds it in
You're talking about my mama. Now, yeah, See there's so
many things my mom would already been.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Cleaning that message.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
See, there's so many things that can go wrong with
that particular conversation.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah, that's why when we do our best to do
steer clear, Nuggets get the wind tonight, back to back
overtime wins for the different Nuggets. Nicola Jokic huge stat
line tonight again. But as we talked about it, we
wearing him out early in in efforts that we're going
to cost us on the back end.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
I really think so, because NBA season is a long
and arduous and body started to break down, and Nikola
Yokis has been for the past.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Couple of years. It's not just an iron man for
the thing of the Denver Nuggets.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
But an iron man in the league, Like you know,
Joel Embiid is like, look, I'm done playing back to backs, right,
So this is an opportunity for for Niccola, and I'm
thinking maybe the Nuggets management to just kind of give
him some some of that you know, low management. I mean,
because ideas that you want Nikola Jokich ready towards the
(30:30):
end of the season, give him minutes. But in order
to do that, you have to have faith in your
bench that some players that when they come in on
that second unit, they're gonna be able to continue the scoring.
And right now that the Nuggets really don't don't really
have that. So the Nuggets in a position where they're
gonna I think they could potentially wear out a guy
like Nikola.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Joki Yeah, that's a little bit of my concern there
as well. World Series action, the New York Yankees ahead
of the LA Dodgers. They're desperate to stop the sweep
and get off the schneid. Here. I'm actually rooting for
your Yankees tonight. Root for him. Last night didn't didn't help.
Watch Freddy Freeman continues his ridiculous world season World Series tear.
(31:15):
Somebody on Twitter pointed out that the Dodgers could lose
the rest of them and Freeman would still be the
series MVP.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Yeah, that's the way it seemed like that you showed
me doing the break. On social media, there was a
Yankees fan holding up the stop stop hurting me, Freddy, Yes,
just please stop, yes, talk about the five nights at Freddy's.
That's exactly what it seems like for Freddie Freeman. But
it seems as though right now the Dodgers are still
(31:42):
in it. And that's the one thing that makes them
extraordinary as a team. They're never out of games, right,
whether it's pitching, but more or less, it's the guys
at the plate. And that's the thing that scares the
Jesus out of me, is because at any point any
one of those guys at bet they're capable of making
big plays.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Yeah, and that's and that's the thing. I mean, you
you know, we got these high octane teams, these high
high dollar payrolls here, and you expect them to be
able to perform like that. They certainly are hitting them,
hitting them out. That Yankees got the edge right now.
We'll see, uh how that goes. Broncos, of course, Cap
Baltimore coming up on Sunday early game, going to the
(32:23):
East Coast always been sort of an issue, although this
year that Broncos took too off the East Coast with
Tampa and New York.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Well, see, that's one thing the Broncos can actually lean on.
And once you start to break down this game and
I'm sure we'll do more of it during the week.
But knowing as though you have historically this season been
better on the road than you've been at home, and
I know Coach Payton is talking about it because now
guys are outside the framework of being home worrying about
(32:52):
the kids, the girlfriend, the tickets and all those things.
Now you are able to focus and hone in on
your credit because it's just it's just you and the guys.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Like it's like a road trip, like a guys road trip.
But you're not going to Vegas, Yeah you're not.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
You're going to Baltimore where some boat took out a bridge.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
So. So the Broncos hopefully now here's a question whether
they're going to go early or not because it's still
the East Coast game, and going early has proved beneficial
for the Denver Bronco.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
I would yeah, it's certainly proven to uh to work
out for them so far, at least so far this season. Uh.
They they've kind of broken the string. They've been a
team that's been brutally bad in those early East Coast games,
but too and oh this year and got an opportunity
to take that out to three and ZHO. How big
would that win be for this franchise.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
That would be extraordinary because now you would have a win,
you know, within the conference, but also against a team
that's pretty dull good offensively and a team that could
be right there and the thicker things at the end
of the season. It would just kind of fast track
where the Broncos hard now to where we thought they
(34:01):
would be at this point early in the season.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Yeap Broncos Country tonight right here on ko
