Speaker 1 (00:00):
Are you doing, buddy, good to have you back. You
(00:01):
were a sports last Friday. Had to had to open
the final four by myself, do all the heavy lifting myself.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Well, you so used to open six packs, so you
opened it by yourself, so you were okay, I.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Did, and you know what, I'm so used to being
good at this bracket thing. I find myself number one
in the office pool. I don't know right now. I
had to stroll up just a little bit just to
kind of see see me up there. I don't know.
It's uh, the last time I checked, Jenna Gondegg was
ahead of you. Jenna Gondeg is not ahead of me.
Hold one, So okay, yes, that might have been opening
(00:34):
day after like one game was played or something. But no,
I'm racing out there first. I don't believe there's anybody
close anymore. Well, you were a little nervous. I remember
there's the top Chad Bowers and second genus in the third.
But you were a little nervous. He was sweaty.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
You kept checking your phone, and it was that you
kept checking your phone.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
There was a bit oft there when uh, you know,
with Florida was sweat man. Maybe a little sweaty Arkansas
Saint John I I had to collect on my misteak
dinner with with Dave Logan. I texted immediately after the
Hogs won, threw up a wu tang yes, and then
I was like, I changed that to a woo pig
because Dave, that's right, Steve at Water. Uh yeah, it
(01:15):
was one of those ones. Uh when when because Dave
was in here talking all that mess about Saint John's
and I'm like, man, you know, one of the two
leading indicators in the NCAA tournament are offensive efficacy per
possession and rebounds rebounding percentage. Those are the two biggest indicators.
And Saint John's their offensive EPAC because is not that good.
(01:36):
Like they don't they don't shoot the ball verywhere. They're
They're slash of the bucket kind of team. And their
best guy was was not playing very well release three
for seventeen. Yeah. And then like I was watching watching
this game and I'm like, dude, if I'm Rick Patino,
We're dumping the ball into that each of four guy,
the big, the big fellow they had down there at
four at four, Yeah, you had two Arkansas bigs in
(01:56):
foul trouble. One of them foul out, and they're just like,
now gonna we're gonna try jump shots since we haven't
done that all year. You know what, that was.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
The the biggest thing watching that Arkansas Saint John's game,
because I thought Saint John's was gonna perform a lot
better than they actually did. But the idea of sitting
you're a star player, you can you can listen to
the commentators talk about like, wow, what's shocked. We're still
looking at the bench and he's still there, and Betino
(02:26):
hadn't put him in, and and I know it will
kind of ball certain people's tea kettle over to notice
that this is your best player, right and he's having
an off night and he's on the bench in critical moments.
For me, that was Petino sending somewhat of a statement.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, but I think it's the wrong one. It can't
get worse. He's gonna shoot himself out of it, or
it's gonna be the same. Wait.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Wait, I think I add more to do with his
attitude that was in his shooting performance, because you you
saw Edge of Four, who we mentioned earlier, trying to
calm him down multi full times on the court. I
think it was more, hey, get your stuff together. It
doesn't matter that you're three for seventeen, but you're acting
like an immature little kid.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Right. You think Kobe sitting now and he's three for
seventeens and Kobe sitting there, Kobe's jacket up more shots,
shooting himself out of it. Same thing with Steph Okay,
but shoot set.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Here is your problem with your comp You mentioned Kobe
and Steph Curry. R. J. Luiz Junior is neither of
those two players. He is a good player in his
own right. But that says a lot about who you
are in those moments when the game is on the line,
(03:37):
whether you surge forward or you're looking for a place
to bury your head. And it was obvious that Louise
was having some issues. But I always go back to this,
right and grant you played basketball. I played a little bit.
Did I stopped when I knew I had a possibility
of going to college to play football.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
But the idea is that if you're shot and.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
This goes across aau basketball and even in the problems
in college, if your shot isn't falling.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
The one thing you can do is still play defense.
You still can play.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Defense, defense, rebound assists, yes, all the other aspects of
the game.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
That and those are ways that you can help your team.
But it just seemed like Lewis was totally.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Out of it mentally. He had checked out.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
And if you are an NBA scout, not to say
that one game defines a player, but you got you
gotta look at that and say.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Okay, well man, what happens to this kid? Scouting is
figuring out what you do and what adversity happens is everybody,
everybody can have a good day shooting. Scoutings figured out
what a player is when what adversity happens?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Man, And everyone loves to win. No one loves loves
to lose.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
I've never met a lovable Well, let me take that
back you back in the day since Scatty dingles with
one of those teams. Sorry about that, Grant, but I
got to be a true teller today. But there's so
are people who are lovable losers. I don't think this
kid R. J. Lewis Jr. You know he coming into
the tournament, he didn't seem to be that guy. So
I'm wondering what happened to him? Was it the fact
(05:11):
that he shot what we're not falling that he just decided,
you know what, tonight is not my night.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Maybe tournament brings out the best in people, brings out
the worst of people too, as we saw there. What
did you think of the closing CSU CSU up against
Maryland and the as they were dubbed the Crab five.
What did you think of What did you think of
CSU that last play? Was that a travel? Because it
looked like a travel.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
To be Oh man, you know what, I don't want
to ruin a great back and forth game by saying that.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
It was so because there's no gathered rule in college basketball.
It's only in a pro there's no gather rule in
college basketball. No, No, there isn't. So for me, I'll
just say this.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I enjoyed the game, and it was a great back
and forth game.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
And at that there was obviously.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
You thought, well, CSU made that last bucket.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Three and you're like, oh, game's over.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Well, because what I think about it thought still, you're
still in the closing seconds of the game.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
God get tight.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
We just talked about Lewis and Saint John's God God
get real tight. Everything gets tight. Ye, but Maryland they
were able to kind of pull it off. But I
think this says a lot about the CSU RAMS program
and how well they fought.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
But this is what I.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Was trying to tell you and Grant last week when
it comes to watching the tournament, these are the type
games that I want to see, those tight games.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Did you hear what Kevin Willard said after the game
about who he was going to give the ball to
on the last play? No, So he went into the
HIDA one and said who wants the ball? And the
Queen came over to him and said, give me the
MF ball and he said, all right, you got it.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
That's the first game winner that Queen has ever had
in his entire basketball career AAU college, high school, He's
never shot a game winner. That's the first time he's
even ride one.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
But once again, this is design of what we see
happen in march Man. This is always one of those
guys at some point along the tournament that no one
anticipated would that would make the game saving steel block
free throw, and Queen prove that when his team needed
(07:21):
the most. Even though he was not looked at as
being that type of guy, he came through.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Queen became a king, although I don't know if we
can say that these days, because you know other well,
you can say that his last name is Queen, So
I mean, somebody's gonna cut that and make that something else.
I'm just saying.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
And did you Also, did you, guys hear Nico Medved's
comments after the game if it was a travel or not?
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I mean no, I didn't.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
I haven't seen the video yet. It's gonna be hard
for me to watch. I'm sure I will at some point.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but it doesn't matter.
They didn't call one, so you know, whether it was
or wasn't, they didn't call one, and they never go
back and change the call. But again, he made a
really difficult shot, guys, I mean, he made a really,
really difficult shot and they just made one more play
than we did.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
That's the best way to do that as a coach,
it's probably the best way to do that. Now, you
didn't dismiss it, you left it open ended, but you
also said it didn't matter because they're not gonna go
back and shat that. That's brilliant it's brilliant to pr speaker.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Well, even though it was a battle on both sides
for both Maryland and the Rams at that point in
the close game like that, you can't look back and say, Okay, well,
wish I could have what should have did this right?
Because if you're saying that, that means that the plays
that you needed to make you didn't make, because I
mean Nico medved and the Rams had a chance to
(08:44):
extend that game. Well, when you keep, when you allied
with the stay closed, you put it in a position
where your your opponent can steal the game. So to
steal a phrase from your favorite movie, you know, hey man,
I'm probably gonna mess it up.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
You know, leave no doubt right, nor tit. It's not
my favorite movie, but yeah, run it up. Leave no doubt.
It's one of your favorite movies. To quote. How about that?
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Well, the ideas leave no doubt on either side. But
the game was really close. To look back at it
play and say maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, you
still have to say, look, it should have never come
down to that particular play.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Never leave the game in the official's hands.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
But no matter what the sport is and that's kind
of where c ISSU kind of left themselves. But all
in all, man, it was a great season for them,
and I know the fan base don't want to.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Hear that, but you have to give credit where credit
is due.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
I mean, this was a team that didn't start the
season off that well, but they got themselves within seconds
of advancing, so that got account for something.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Well. I just I thought that did did great work
there from the from the podium at the game and
perfect pr which juxtaposed with another coach and si d
this weekend. I don't know if you guys, you guys
see the Yukon stuff, you see this, you guys. So
Dan Hurley after the Baylor game, he's walking off the
court and was screening multiple obscenities and then, you know,
(10:09):
in Baylor's direction, says, I hope they don't bleep you
like they bleeped us in the tunnel the arena.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
And.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
A reporter got video of it, like perfect crystal clear video.
Joey Ellis, or reporter of Charlotte Sports Live, got video
of it. And you know it's not really abnormal. If
you if you know Dan Hurley and you've seen his antics,
you know, that's not really abnormal behavior from him, but
this reporter put it out. There were millions of views,
(10:38):
and then Yukon's Director of Communications, Bobby Mullen was heard
by multiple individuals coming up and telling Ellis that if
he didn't take it down, he would ruin his life.
What does he do, mom? Well, are we bullying at people?
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Now?
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Yeah? I mean it's it's it's ridiculous. And Mullen has
since released a statement making it even worse, where he
says he criticized Ellis for being in an area where
he should not have been, which wasn't true, and described
hurley screaming as a quote private comment he made to
members of another coaching staff and if you've seen the video,
you know that's garbage. The full statement from the director
(11:17):
of Communications, you can said, quote the lasting image of
coach Hurley leaving the court should have been is walking
off the court arm in arm with the seniors, a
whelm of the emotion. Instead, a reporter who was in
an area should not have been recorded on his cell phone,
a private comment made to members of another coaching staff,
and I think if you've seen the clip, you know
that's just absolute garbage. Also Yeah, it should have been
coach Hurley walking off the court arm in arm with
(11:37):
the seniors. But Coach Hurley chose to make it about
something else, not this reporter who just happened to document
the incident as it happened. Also, what is the Yukon
Director of Communications doing out there threatening to ruin somebody's life? Like, Bro,
you're the director of Comm's at Yukon. You don't have
that kind of weight, you don't have that kind of cachet.
(11:57):
You can't ruin somebody's life. Well, I mean if you
could have, you would have had to ask a guy
to take it down. If you had that kind of theft,
you wouldn't be able to you would, of course. But
it's the words. It's the threat. What it is what
of saying like what are you doing threatning somebody like?
Who are you to threat? Like if it had been
me and somebody like from the Broncos or somebody come
and said they were going to ruin my life at
(12:18):
a table, I would have laughed in their face.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
See you wouldn't would have not only laughed in their face,
you would have said, one of your smart Benjamin all
Black comments.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Only oh what are you gonna do get me fired
so I can go home and be a board millionaire
with nothing to do but pick on you.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Well, then you would have had yourself kicked out of
the club.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I mean, is it you think that you think keeping
me outside the club makes me less dangerous or more dangerous? Well,
I mean I know where the bodies are buried.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
What do we do?
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Well, yeah, yeah you do. But the fact of not
giving you that access, which what's everything.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Is all about, would cause some kind of a conflict
for you, making things a little difficult for you only
to polpe to bear where you are now making things
very controversial for yourself, the station and the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
That's a national storyline. Local radio host on KOA and Ihard.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Has a conflict with the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Now, now I got pep, I can't even shot.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I got people asking me questions about bid You know
Walmart ski he's about him being harassed about you.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, that's what they do. They flag him down as
he's on the lift, just just went skiing this morning
or no. And it's because they's like there's communication director
should know better. You're you're a college level communications director, dude,
like that. Ain't it threatened to ruin somebody's life because
you've got negative pr because your coach can't keep his
(13:48):
mouth shut. But you know what, he here's the thing
I mean, if it comes to somebody's doing that to
me though, I'm like Mamma. Mama always said, never wrestled
with the pig because everybody gets money, but the pig
like shit, and I'm the pig.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
I get that everyone has a right to say what
they want to say, but also understand there's some things
that come.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Along with that.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
But when you look at Dan Hurley, he's been since
winning the title, he's been really fiery. Now, I remember
Bobby Hurley at too. Now, Bobby was kind of Bobby
was a great player in college football, but I don't
remember him being like his brother, just being overly outspoken.
And maybe this is a case of how winning forcing
(14:31):
some people to really show who they really are, because
I don't remember Dan Hurley just being this kind of
I guess look.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
For egotistical winning.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Now, now, let's be totally honest. Winning We've seen over
sports have done that to a lot of people. You
know what's fault. Yes, it makes a lot of people
really arrogant, very outspoken, or misuse of power. Right, So
in this case, that's what this was with Dan Harroll,
a misuse of power.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
The idea is use all that energy like.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
This was something that Bill Parcells would say, use all
that energy. Now that you're raving about and securing him
in and kicking your feet throwing an.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Adult tantrum, you should have did that during the game.
They'll do it now. And I know that you lost
the Florida game is close, But nah, man, you can't.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
You can't do this because as a coach, you are
setting an example for your players. You got those senior
players who that was the last game. You can walk
off that court with a lot of respect, knowing as
though you lost. Someone beat you will walk out with
your scenes. But the underclassman, I'll ask you, if you're
an undercap classman at Ukon, how are you looking at
(15:46):
looking at this like, oh my my, my coach.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Is about that life or my coach is like on
one right now? Yes, I mean it depends on how
you know a guy, because maybe maybe he's got I mean,
you know, there's and I'll say this for my own
it there's a certain reputation out there about me. Well, yeah,
he worked long enough to know that a certain reputation,
But you know that you've worked me long enough to
(16:10):
know that ninety nine percent of what everybody says about
me is absolute just malarkey. Well, I mean I have
some fun in here hamming it up, but I didn't
get little argan at times and that kind of stuff.
And I'll readily admit to that. But so there maybe
there's something on the inside there that we don't know
about Dan Hurley, but from the outside, dude looks unhinged.
It was just a bad.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Look, like we didn't see Rick Britino do that and
he business star player.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Yeah, I mean, I'm just saying anyway this this sid
went on to tweet it may when when when it
started coming out that he had threatened the guy. Right,
he goes on his Twitter account and tweets out pr
man yells at reporter news at eleven, before eventually deleting that,
making it making himself look like a like an idiot.
(16:54):
He said, I have a journalism degree, because the pr
man yells at reporter dows at eleven. I have a
journalism degree, and I know the difference between seeking out
gotcha moments my temper flair to bit in the moment
of weakness after a loss. The journalists I work with
regularly would vouch for me. Nobody vouched for him. He
wound up deleting the tweet.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
That's the one thing I learned about being a professional athlete,
especially after playing in New York City, which is one
of the tougher media markets there is out there, is
that after a loss, you have to figure someone's coming
to you for some form of sound bait by and
even now in today's game, it's even worse.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
So you have to really think before you speak.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
And it's in those emost new moments that I've seen
so many people make irrational decisions that they wish that
they can Oh they look, they wish they can delete. Well,
once the videos out there, as they say, once it's
in the clouds.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
The tweet is out there on the videos. Out there
is out there, man, And that's that's the thing. So
I don't know. We got a lot, a lot of
stuff to get to. Mike Riddeman's going to join us
from the College grid Iron showcase. Get a chance to
talk to him about scouting some leapers for the NFL Draft.
I want to get into another thing on social media.
I don't know if you saw this workout routine video.
You guys seen this thing. We'll get a chance to
(18:09):
talk about this and the uh the surprising lack of
reality from it. We get a chance. Broncos Country Night
continues after this, Well Grants the music guy out.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
I don't know you like forty five, now, Ben, you
don't have to try and fit in with the youth meeting.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
The fellow youths. I'm like this, Steve Bushimi in the
SNL you fellowship the skateboard.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
On the show.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Yeah, that's it. That's that's the thing. I well, I am,
you know, I'm forty four going on twenty four. So
if anybody you know, people who know me anyway, Yeah,
I just uh, there's the thing. I liked her and
then I I don't know, like then he got a
hold of her and started doing her albums and they
(18:50):
were terrible. Well, it's still a great song for for
Grant and I right, just you guys a song you guys, dance,
slow dance. It's just one of those songs that you're
driving the car come comes on. It's like you turn
it up, you turn speaking of songs that you you
turn it up, and Grant sent me this one earlier today.
(19:11):
My man Mark Morrison. Oh yeah, you turn in the
Mac return to jail. Oh an altercation at in a restaurant,
a high end restaurant with a restaurant manager and allegedly
assaulted the guy allegedly allegedly. So he's returning to the
Mac back in back in prison. That was my jam.
(19:35):
That's the all time jam return of the Mac. Every
time that song. That's when you turn up. I get it.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
I totally understand that there are certain songs you hear
and you can't help but turn up the volume, roll
down the window, just kind of sing it to the
highest level that.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
You can sing to. Carlton, Yes, until someone rolls up
on you hammering the radio. Then someone whipping over there
and someone rolls up all you just kind of trying
to roll up the window right as fast.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
As you can.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah, you're like jamming the Vanessa Carlton quick and changing
it to some biggie Yeah, yeah, really really fast out
of the window, popping drays California lungs fast as you can.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
It seemed like a like it should be a scene
from a movie or something.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Yeah, what's.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
What?
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Was it? Not Black Sheep? It was like already where
David Spade and Chris Farley they're listening to something. Now
I want to listen to this and I want to
listen to this, and then it's something. It was a
black Sheet? Was a Black Sheep? Black Sheep? I couldn't remember
Tommy Boy or Black Sheep. It's one of the two,
you know what. It's one of the movies basically, but yeah,
I don't know where. I mean, here's a key deal
sketch about that too, where like somebody and they roll
(20:48):
it up, but it was about us that ticket sales
or whatever, you know what I mean. The guy walks
up like, yeah, get you them tickets, you know, like that,
and then the other guy walks up and all of
a sudden, his voice changes from like yeah, I can
totally get you those tickets. Oh man, you got the kid,
you know what you want and he's acting like it's
a gangst a rap concert, you know whatever. But it's
like the opera and the other guy's just standing there
(21:08):
listening like this like died in his head or whatever,
and he's just and he gets he's on his cell phone.
He says something deep, you know, yeah, I'll call you
right back or something like that, and then he's halfway
across the street and his voice swipts says, oh my god, Steven,
I just about got mind. You know what. That's classic
Kim Peel in this direction.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Yeah, there's another skit where one of the guys playing
African American president and he's coming off the stage and
depending on who he's meeting, the way that he is.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
The handshake or whatever, and the one the one lady
goes for that goes for the hug and he like
to shoots the handshake out there.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
You know what it's It was real because when President
Barack Obama, you know, meant the Olympic basketball team and
he was going down the line, it was like this shit,
he kind of got the Steve Kerr and he's just
against you.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
It was so parallel to that.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Believe it or not, it is true because there's certain
people you just give them a handshake.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Other people you kind of you dap up, Yeah, well
that's okay. So yeah, he when I shook his hand,
shaking the hand of three US president's Barack Obama was
which was definitely a white guy handshake. It was.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
It was a too pump handshake. And that was MICI
old one I got dapped up by was Bush. Georgeorge
George Bush, George W. Was like dapping you know, it
was like dapping it up. Bill Clinton was like a handshake.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
George W. Was the the daputy up and and uh
Barack was the was the handshake. But that I tell you, man,
it was.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
It's so funny because it's so real because that's exactly
what happens. You meet certain people and you just give
them the regular shake their hands or whatever. The other
people you go all in with the dap. You get
the back tap and all of that stuff.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
I'm sure you can't understand this, but Ben, do you
ever feel more white and nerdy when you hang out
with a couple former athletes and they dap each other
up and you know, bro hug and then they come
over and just shake your.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Hands normal hands. I lead on those situations, so I'm like, look,
I'm white, but I'm not that white dude. That's the thing.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Okay, But next time, grant the next time instead of leading,
leading with the open hand for the official tradition, you're
gonna come up with.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Handshake comp with you in the wing like this, you know,
with the handout look like you're gonna you're about to
hit a secret handshake. But you got hit him with
the fist pump right off the bat, so you know
something else is coming. That's my go to. It's just
the hit him with the fist pump and then you
know from then on and then you know you're good.
You're like, actually, my name is Doug, and you know
with with the with the hand out like you're trying
to do a business handshake, that's where you're gonna be.
(23:41):
I've experienced that person. I've experience that experienced that in
the Broncos organization. For sure. There's nothing more deflating, like wow,
these guys think I'm not cool, and then you realize
exactly what I mean. Been there many times, my friends.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Once again, grant you you have to change the situation
before you even get into it, right, lead in like
you know what I'm about to give you.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
You know you have to like that's say some soft
like look as a white man like you gotta even do.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
You gotta come, you gotta be like, lookta, you don't
even think that I mean are they going to be
like this dude trying to be cool.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
I mean, if you go, if you come in like
this with the they can't see me right now, you're
coming high.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
I'm about to dap you up. Look yeah, well Ben
is displaying right now. No, you don't want to do
so like that really false, like like he's doing a
crossover but he's carrying the ball like Alan Everson.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
That's too far. You got to give him too much
room to just put the hand out.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
You got to be keep it, you know, outside the
shoulder there right there, you.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Know you lock it up. You got to shoot it
in there quick and let him know that. You got
to lead with Otherwise you're getting the hash, you get
the cold fish. I'm just gonna stick with the fist bump.
I think too complicated. I'm trying to work this south
for the young fellow. I'm trying to I'm trying to
break it down right now. Hold on for a second.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
If Devin, if David Temper walked into where you are
in the control room and he's.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
He's got that look on his face like he's ready
for a handshake. What's handshake he's gonna give it? Well,
you're just gonna give him just a fist pump. I'm
giving him the white guy handshake. You're trying to say.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
You're trying to say, why why don't you give him
that handshake.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Because he's an old white guy?
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Man, oh man, we're gonna you know what, you got
a spice. You gotta put some hot sauce on it.
Put my hot sauce on it. So grant Manny Smith
over there exactly what you're saying, which is great.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
You never know, I mean, temper might get you missed up.
Now here's you a lot of dabs and you just
be like what you'd be like, I didn't see that
one coming. But okay, I'm.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Just saying no, I will say, temper is pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
You got he's holding up, he's holding of a sign
right now. You can't know when you're gonna get in trouble.
Oh ma, oh my goodness. Did you guys see this
viral uh morning routine video that that came out this
past week. Do you guys to see this? I did see it.
You said you see this? Nick?
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Unfortunately, Uh it's.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Still what a minute and thirty seconds out of my life?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yes? Whatever? Yeah, is that how long it is, Like,
I honestly couldn't tell you. Yeah, this is just so.
There's just a morning routine video that came out and
it turns out it's just an ad for, uh for
bottle water in the end. But it got me thinking
because the guy who does the video, the guy's name
is Ashton Hall, and he's you know, an online entrepreneur
(26:35):
who quote unquote helps fitness coaches build their brand. Uh.
He has this like morning routine video that he put
out and it's like him waking up at like I
can't like three point fifty in the morning or something
like that. Yeah, and he goes through he like brushes
his teeth and you know it pours this bottle of
water into a well into lots of he's carrying around.
He first he rinses his mouth out with it. Then
(26:56):
he's like doing a face wash with it, all this
kind of stuff. And he goes through his whole day
of you know, him doing push ups and meditating and
during all this kind of stuff, And I'm like, first
of all, you did nothing in between the hours of
three fifty and seven thirty when you woke up. You
could have just slept in and then like, what is
it with the face? You know, who who does face
wall like washes their face with bottled water?
Speaker 2 (27:19):
I would guess those who can afford it, just like
you know, though you asked the question why would someone happen.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
But Day, Well, it's funny that you mentioned that. I
can see why some would have been have been Day.
It's funny that you mentioned people that can afford it
because I started researching this guy and his name is
Ashton Hall. What did you find out? He had eight
carries for five yards in his college football career at
Alcorn State, and he is, Uh, he's legitimately trying to
be a fitness guy and whatever else and to his credit, uh,
(27:46):
who's built Jack? To his credit due his Jack.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
So basically he's an action figure without the without the rapper.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
And all the funny things from the video aside, like
the cringey stuff in there, or the fact that he
lists and then he starts a jump like he's jumping
in the pool to do a you know, at seven
thirty after he's done pushups everything, he's jump in the pool.
There's a point where the timestamp jumps from seven thirty
six to seven forty am and it's literally the time
he jumps off the side and lands in the water,
So somehow he did four minutes of hangtime in the
air before hitting the water in the pool. But that
(28:17):
stuff aside, did a little research on this guy and
come to find out, like this whole baller lifestyle that
he's pretending like he has in this in this video
is absolutely a sham. It's a total sham. Well, are
guys getting evicted from his apartment which he rented with
(28:38):
this apartment that he has, he's it's a three bedroom
apartment that he rents with three other people. So there
are four people renting a three bedroom apartment, all four
of them split the least on these two Mercedes vehicles
that he has in the in the video, And it
sounds like these dudes that are like, look, it's this
guy looking like he has this like baller lifestyle. What
in reality, it's a it's a bunch of you know,
(28:59):
balling up a budget. Guys pretended like they got a
penthouse and all these Mercedes and all this kind of
stuff when in reality don't have any of it. The
guys guys getting evicted for not paying his rent. He's
splitting it he's splitting it four ways in a free
vedroom he's getting evicted from for not paying his rent. Listen, man,
the motive with the routine isn't even a thing. It's
it's an ad for Sarahtoga Springs water, which work. By
the way, because Google searches for Sarahtoga Springs water, the
(29:22):
preferred bottled water of mister Adrian Monk went up thirteen
thousand percent over the course.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
So okay, well that would mean in this case that
what he was proposing and what he was sitting for
a video standpoint, it actually worked. And the fact of
you know, four buddies of three buddies and the condo
down in Miami or wherever it is, balling on the buds.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Hey, I'll say this, I'm not gonna knock anyone's hustle.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
And if he was able to, you know, hang with
his buddies and you just kind of live his life.
He's going to live right now. Look, hey to say
more to it, Hey, more power to you.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Yeah, it's it's utterly ridiculous, including the part where he
he eats a banana and then rubs the peel on his face.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Well, maybe maybe they're there well, there's some potassium in bananas,
so maybe that's a new thing. You know, the potassium
kind of glorifies your skin.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Im I gotta find a dermatologist because we got to
break this thing. Guy, I just thought it was ridiculous.
I don't know. Anyway, we get back, we're gonna talks
to Broncos. We got Mike Riddleman from the College Guitar
Showcase coming up next to Broncos Country Tonight.
