Steven’s experimentation soon turned into a heroin addiction that he battled for years. Deborah discusses how she and her husband Joseph recognized the red flags in Steven’s behavior, as well as the role that they played as parents in making sure that Steven received the treatment and support he needed to put himself on the path to recovery. Deborah also explains how their experience shaped the development of Saferlock, a tool that families can use to deter addiction to prescription drugs.
