In this edition of insight in this month of giving we want to point out some find organizations that are doing great work to help put a dent into Philadelphia’s poverty rate. One is doing it by offering middle school students support for pursuing STEM careers as well as a college education. Loraine Ballard Morrill speaks with iPraxis Founder Jeremiah White and 14 year student Zoe Magee.
Loraine talks with Lucress Irizarry who runs an organization called Faith in God Family Restoration Corporation which works directly with families in need – especially those who are unexpectedly pushed under the poverty line by a job loss or financial setback. There are two events – the first on December 15th 10 am to 4 pm Sturgis playground 200 65th Avenue 19126. The second event is December 22 9 am to noon at the ShopRite of Fox Street 2800 Fox Street 19121 http://www.figfrc.org/
But first Loraine speaks with Terri Matthews President and CEO of Jaden’s Voice which provides support for families with children on the Autism spectrum. They’re sponsoring a holiday event Celebration Beyond the Spectrum December 14th at LEGOLAND Discovery Center, 500 W. Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting PA.
