Speaker 1 (00:00):
When the on air mic goes off, the talk talk begins,
it's talk talk with Martha Quinn.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh yeah, when the on air mic goes off, the
talk talk begins, talk talk with Martha. Stop it don't stop,
it goes off, talk talk.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
There we go, okay, there it is.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
My goodness, Why why did I say let it go?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
What?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
What music event? What classic piece of music am I
referring to that made me say? No? That's exactly how
it happened right there. You saw it live in action, exactly, Okay,

(00:43):
the same. So have we determined what number podcast this is?
Because it was controversial last week? A lot of discussion,
a lot of texting, a lot of screenshots went back
and forth. So what number podcast is this?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
This is officially number two hundred and fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
All right, then we stick with that, officially podcast number
two hundred and fifteen. That unites the Morning Drive with
Christy Live Crewe, Christie Hey and Karina of Alaskaz and
the Martha Quinn Show crew. Martha and Karina of Alaskas.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
There's two of her.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
There's two of her today, that's the secret. There's actually two.
This is the podcast that starts with a custom theme
song every week and we appreciate that it starts with you.
Thank you for joining us. We always invite you to
hang out with us as we talk life or whatever
is on our minds. First off, I want to say

(01:42):
that for the first time ever, this has never happened
to me before, but for the first time ever, someone
slid into my DMS. Karina already knows who it is. Christy,
you want to take a wild crazy guess.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Was it a celebrity?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
He should be a celebrity. I'll tell you that.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Okay, our friend mccrdy.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Not our friend mccrdy. I personally would like to see
an awards show based around this kind of person Like,
forget the Academy Awards. I would like to see the
respondees and it would be on TV. Brad Pitt and
Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep would present the awards at

(02:25):
the respondees. Do you know what kind of awards show?
This is? No, it's for first responders.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I would be a really nice award show.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
I think it would be so boss. And the individual
who slid into my DMS is San Francisco Fire Department
Captain Jonathan Baxter.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Hey Jonathan, but Martha, do you want to say why
he slid into your DM.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Because usually when you say someone slid into your DMS,
it's because they want to get to know you better.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yes, I'm aware of.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
When Marka's blushing.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
But the situation is that Captain Baxter heard me talk
about close before you doze, a fire safety rule that
I said. I didn't think a lot of people knew about.
I never knew about it until I saw that hashtag.
Either of you know about this closed before you doze?
I just did it.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
No, I've never heard of it.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Okay, Yeah, here's the deal. You're supposed to close your
door when you sleep at night, because if a fire
comes into the house, a fire will enter a room
with an open door much faster than a room with
a closed door. Even a normal house door will keep
the temperature within the closed room much cooler, Like it

(03:51):
could literally be a thousand degrees out in the house
and the room the closed door room will be one
hundred degrees. And I was watching demonstrations when I saw
I was watching demonstrations and it is amazing how the
closed door bedrooms fare much better than the open door bedrooms.
I said, I always slept with an open door. With

(04:12):
my kids, I wanted my door to be open, and
I wanted their doors to be open so I could
hear them if something went wrong. So I thought that
was so interesting. I never heard that. Do either of
you sleep with your doors closed at night?

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I always sleep with my doors closed and my closet
doors closed.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
But you sleep with a bunch of people in your house,
so that's more for privacy.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
No, even when I lived by myself or when I
was by myself, I always have a thing about keeping
the door closed.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Interesting. I don't like to have the door open.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I always like it to be open because I like
to hear something's going.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
On erectly, no exactly, I'm feeling more comfortable with the
closed door.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I need somebody. I need to know what's going on.
If there's someone else who opened another door, I need
to hear that.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
But then again, well, Martha, you have dogs, and I
have a dog, so I feel like my dog will
pick up first if someone's like coming in or a noise,
and then that'll wake me up.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
When I lived in Greenwich Village, I had just you know,
it was my It was a studio apartment. It was
like downstairs the little kitchen, little living area, and then
a little ladder that went up to a loft. There
was no way to possibly close the door anyway, but
I thought closed before you dose was really cool. I'd
never heard that, and so he commented and he heard,
so I was like, so honored, thank you, Captain Baxter

(05:28):
for us sliding into my dns. But the podcast topic today,
I saw a headline Dolly Parton learns she and god
daughter Miley Cyrus are actually related, and I thought, wow, okay,
that's kind of fun. If you were to wake up

(05:48):
and find that you were related to a celebrity, who
would it be? Karina of Alaskaz I would have to pick.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
This is very random, is Sir Paul mccarth Bartney, Because
I feel like he is on a whole different level
and I just want to know and experience the level
that he's on everything, like for meeting people, going now
in his concerts, like he's just on a whole different
atmosphere and I would like to know how that atmosphere

(06:19):
feels like I'm going with Paul McCartney.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Do you think that Paul McCartney is the biggest celebrity
currently living on the planet?

Speaker 4 (06:28):
I would say no, I'd say he comes in maybe
second in.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
My Okay, Okay, don't blurt out number one. Who you
think the biggest celebrity is living?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Living? The biggest celebrity yeah, living.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Okay, give me a hint female Taylor Swift. Yeah, that's
exactly who I think is the biggest celebrity.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
In the world right now.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Call tough call, Christy. Between Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift,
who do you think is the biggest celebrity between those two?

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Taylor Swift?

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Yeah, you think only because if you asked an eleven
year old, they would know who Taylor Swift is. They
wouldn't know who Paul McCartney was. But if you asked
a sixty five year old, they would know both, or.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Even maybe even a forty year old.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Right, Yeah, I think as far as age ranges go,
everyone would know her. Not everyone would know Paul.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
McCart McCartney, but I think he'd be cool to have
as a relative.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Plus so much history his time with the Beatles.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Just I think he's had an amazing career, So just
to know that side and be a part of it
and learn, I think that would be amazing.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
How about you Christy, you woke up in the morning,
you get a phone call. Hi, guess what twenty three
and meters discovered that you are related to.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
My first instinct was The Rock.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Ooh, fascinating.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
It's a good one.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Fascinating because you know, you would think over everyance. But
they have said they don't necessarily hook their family up
with like cash or money or anything. I think if
The Rock found out I was like a long lost
sister or cousin, he'd be down to help me out,
or meet me and hang out, invite me to family functions,
things of that nature.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Give you some of that tea, mona tequila.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
You know, whatever it takes to create that family bond.
But I do think that he would be cool about
being a family member.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
What about you, mart the Quinn.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Well, Krina and I are going to be siblings, okay,
because I go for Paul too. Oh really, really, you
and I we're gonna have Paul put us some car
seats in the back seat and he's going to take
us around the Hampton's or London. We're going to go
on tours of Abbey Road. Yeah. I got to go
with Paul McCartney. I have got to go with Paul McCartney.

(08:45):
I am a longtime, deep seated Beatles fan. When I
was a teeny tiny girl in Austin and New York,
I lived across the street from a small little lake
and on the other side of the lake was a house.
I mean it was so close that if they were
playing a record, I could hear it.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
But I thought, oh, there's water and there's music coming
from there. That must be the ocean, and that must
be the Beatles.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, there across the pond technically, and if you hear that,
you're like, that's the pond.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
There they are.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
There, they are the Beatles. So, you know, ever since
I was a teeny tiny girl. But I would definitely
just have to go with Paul McCartney because maybe because
I just I'm with you. I would like to know
more about Paul McCartney, Like I feel like I could
never get enough of hearing his stories and just getting
a vibe of what he's really like. You know, well,

(09:43):
it's we're gonna have some more breakfast strutn No. You know,
I think that would be insanely cool, And I wonder
if he would hook us up with you know, you know.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
He seems like he would be cool.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
He seems like he would be really cool and laid
back and nice to meet the new family and bring
into the folds and whatnot.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
So I would say, yes.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Yeah, so I guess we'd be related then, Martha, Yes,
we have siblings. I have a question, Martha, have you
been Have you ever gone to a Beatles show?

Speaker 2 (10:14):
A Beatles show? The last Beatle show was in nineteen
sixty six in San Francisco. So I was only seven
and living in Austin and New York at that time,
So no, I never have been to a Beatles show.
But unless you mean solo Beatle, yeah, which case the
answer is yes. I believe the first concert I ever

(10:34):
saw was Paul McCartney. And now, for a while there
I knew exactly the order here, but now I can't
remember if Paul McCartney was My first three concerts at
Madison Square Garden were Paul McCartney, The Wingsover America, Tore,
I saw George Harrison at Madison Square Garden, and I
saw a Queen at Madison Square Garden, all within the

(10:54):
same period of time in high school. So, oh my god,
when I Paul McCartney, it was absolutely in my head
was just exploding.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
It was amazing.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
And as you might know, I did have an opportunity
to meet Paul McCartney and my husband Jordan was with
me and I did this whole interview and I'm so
mad that, you know, we didn't take pictures or anything.
I think because at that time, I see, you know,
when you're young, you feel like, oh, I'll have plenty

(11:28):
you know, I'm Martha Quinn on MTV. I don't need
to bug him for a picture. I'll have plenty of opportunities,
you know. Of course, I never saw him again, but
we did get a couple of albums autographed. But that
would have been nice to have had a photo. But
I don't have one, but I have it. I have
it in my memory. Is definitely one of those completely

(11:50):
great moments. There was something else I wanted to say, Oh,
this kind of happened to Rod Stewart. He not that
long ago. I want to say, like Max twenty years ago.
He found out that he had a daughter and they
were connected, you know, a long lost daughter. They were reunited.
So it's interesting how that happens. Actually kind of similar

(12:11):
somebody else this happened to that, and it's not like
a situation where it was somebody scamming them like a
legit daughter and he has sort of taken her into
his life and it's sort of fascinating. You go, wow,
my dad is Rod Stewart.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
That's crazy, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Did either of you see the Milli Vanilli documentary?

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Is it out yet?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh my god, yes, it's so good.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Oh no, not seeing it.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I'm sorry. It's a biopic. It's a biopic.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Oh, I can't wait. I'm super excited. Okay, great, good.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
I give it major props. Even though you know the ending,
we all know the ending. I did find it gripping
and heart breaking, okay, throughout the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Okay, very very good.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Okay, that's good to know. So I will add that
to the watch list. Thank you Martha Quinn for that.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Do you want to know why I brought that up?
I'm wondering if I should. If it's kind of a
spoiler alert, don't spoil it.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Wait are you going to spoil the series? Because don't
spoil that. But why did you bring it up? Somebody's
related to somebody.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Somebody, somebody made a discovery, a potential discovery of a relative.
That's all I'm gonna say. I highly recommend it, Okay,
but at any rate. All right, well, we have determined
that this has been episode. Say it one more time,
Karine of Alaskas.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Two hundred and fifteen.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
That's kind of crazy. I know it is crazy.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
It's kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
San Francisco Fire Department Captain Jonathan Baxter, thank you for
reaching out. Appreciate what you do. Until next week. I
am Martha Quinn, I'm Christy, I'm Karine of Alaskaz Monsieur
