So I'm excited for this. I told it's gonna be me,
my dad, my mom, and my sister. It's a family thing.
We went to the last Chieavouse game. They were in town,

Highway seventy nine is the highway that separates Camden, Arkansas,
from Beard in Arkansas, which is two very small towns
in Arkansas. I grew up primarily in Las Vegas, but
I was born in Arkansas. So from birth to like
age ten, I was out there, and my mom and
my grandmother lived in Camden and my great grandmother lived
in Bearden, and we was just up and down that

highway pretty much every damn day. And you know, just
a lot of the music that that my mom would
listen to, you know, on that rest about our ride,
you know, from Camden to Bearding, And this album kind
of put me in the mindset of some of that
music that we would listen to on that ride.

You know, my mom listens to everything.

You know. I was actually introduced to country music through
my mind. You know, shout out Reba McIntire. Reba McIntire's
Fancy was the first country song I ever heard. If

storyline of it that kind of got me and I
just got younger since oh man, damn, maybe seven.

be vulnerable like that was one of the things that

grew up on traditional, a more traditional style of R
and B, whereas today, you know, they're growing up on

this R and B that has got this hip hop makeover.
And of course everybody knows hip hop is a little,
a little tougher than R and B. So whereas we had,
you know, a voice to men or Jo Desy or
Drew Hill. Now they got rappers that sing to look
up to, and the rappers that sing is gonna do
it from there from what they reality is. You know

what their experience is, and it's gonna be the delivery
is gonna be a little tougher. So that's why has
happened the way it has happened. I get it, I
understand it. I don't necessarily agree. I feel like I felt,
you know, I look at it this way. There needs
to be a contrast. I ain't mad at some of
the tougher, rougher sound of R and B. But I
feel like we can't excuse what R and B was

for what R and B has become. Like I feel
like both can anxiety right right, We need to We
need the contrast of both, you know.

we're not chasing hits. If the song don't go number one,
that doesn't mean it's a bad song. That just means

that all the other elements to go into why a
song goes to number one didn't hit. But that don't
mean the quality of the record is bad. Like we've
heard crap songs go to number one, Like we've seen
that before, right, We've also seen amazing songs not get
any shine at all. So I had to get to
that place where it's like I'm not letting anybody dictate
to me the quality of what I'm doing. I know

what I'm doing is good if it don't if it
don't reach the heights that you know that all music
reaches are some music reaches, Okay, that's fine, but that
doesn't That doesn't devalue me.
