The budget of TV shows has ballooned quite a bit
since streaming took over, but the cost to recreate believable
wizardry is apparently record breaking.

The budget for the upcoming Harry Potter TV show on
HBO is widely rumored to be easily the most expensive
show in television history.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
One of HBO's topic execs, are head of Programming, did
just admit the cost is unprecedented, telling Deadline they made
a financial investment that normally you wouldn't make with a
television show.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
M m. But she got Potterhead so excited when she
described that the massive investment translates to calling the world
they've created truly extraordinary. They invited influencer fans to visit
the set, and every single one of them burst out
in tears literally just from seeing it with their own eyes. Yeah.

The HBO execs, Sarah Aubrey says even she is in awe.
She's been on a lot of big shoots and has
never seen anything quite like this. Her jaw was on
the floor. Season one of Harry Potter should land on
HBO early next year.
