Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm so glad you're here.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
As the person who currently occupies your attention, I would
like to thank you for listening to John Jane Rich.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Hey, welcome in.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's another segment of Arizona Spin right here on Fox 10+.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
My name's Nick.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Joining me is the person who was on the previous
segment but is also here now.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Brooke from KNIX.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
My goodness.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Hey, you liked my last segment so much you wanted
me to come on your segment.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
I couldn't contain my excitement.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I'm so honored to be a part of this.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
You were like out the door and I pushed you
back in and I locked it and I said, you
can't leave.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
We must do this together.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
How many people did you ask to do this with
you until you got to me?
Speaker 1 (00:46):
You were the first one. You were my first round draft.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Pick Okay, wow, I feel really honored As.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
You should.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I don't know I mean, I know you watch our
segments I'm typically joined by Peyton from the John Jay.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
And Rich show I DVR them every week.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
And I know you're aware We're campaigning for an Emmy
And it's going pretty well Okay So it should feel
I don't know, you're on with that guy before Tim.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
That's his name? Tim. I've been calling him Thim for
five years.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
No, it's Tim.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Tim.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
He's a great guy. We might win an Emmy, but
if I can help you guys win an Emmy, I'll
do it.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
So everyone knows the pathway to prizing and constant thankfulness
is poop. And it sounds like we have kids that
are very similar ages.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
And our firstborns, or your firstborn, my second, is the
craziest thing, is that they were born the same day,
same hospital, within hours of each other.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Wild, because we weren't due on the same day. I
don't think.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Because I was early.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, we chose our date because it was a C-section.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Okay, yeah, I was early, so I was due two
days later, but then we found out that our four-year-olds
were born on the same exact day, same hospital, same everything.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
So their birthdays are, I mean, essentially a month away.
Have you started birthday prep?
Speaker 3 (02:25):
No, because I went too hard on his four-year-old birthday party.
His name is Bo, and I did Bocella.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I mean, it was the best birthday party I've ever
been to.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Okay, listen, and this is why I'm not doing another
birthday party, because I went overboard. I will admit that.
I hired a Lightning McQueen lookalike car to drive by
the party. I mean, it was perfect. I had an
ice cream truck, a T-Rex bounce house, cakes, cookies. I
had a custom-made sticker machine with his face on it, Bocella.
I had lanyards that said VIP, Bocella, Bocella.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Tim DJ'd.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
I got a DJ. We got the noise complaint from
my four-year-old's birthday party that it was too loud. Then
at the end of the night, my four-year-old looks at
me and said, that was fun. I'm like, oh, buddy,
that's so great. What was your favorite part of the party?
And he goes, thank you, Mommy, for bringing the turtle
to my party. That was the best and my favorite part.
There was a random turtle in the park that I
(03:20):
had nothing to do with.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
He had nothing to do with you.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
He said this is his favorite part of the party
when the turtle arrived and the kids rushed over to it.
So I said, you know what? I am not going
to be spending all that money or doing all this
when all he wanted was to touch a turtle.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I mean, listen, there are certain things.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
We asked, you know, it's Labor Day weekend and we're
trying to make plans and whatever. And I asked the kids,
if you could go Anywhere in the world, anywhere in
the world this weekend, what are you going to do?
And my son Theo said, dinosaur museum, which is by
Odyssey Aquarium. And it's like literally a room basically the
size that we're in with animatronic dinosaurs.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Right.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
And that's it. And I was like, okay, what about
like anywhere in the world? And that was it. That's all.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
That's literally all he wanted. So I get it.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
We went to Oregon. We spent a lot of money
on this. We stayed at this nice resort. We went
to Portland. We went to everywhere. And we get back
and we always say, what's your favorite part? And on
the way to the airport, we had a little delay.
So we decided to stop at a Chick-fil-A. And he
told his teacher that we went to Chick-fil-A over vacation.
And that was his highlight.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
The thing is, he wasn't wrong. He did go there
for vacation.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Right.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
But that was the highlight. So if I can just...
No more vacations and no more birthday parties.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
It's just... I'm done. You can go to daycare and
I will put pizza in your lunchbox.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
The end.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Right. And then you shared with me right before you
came on that your youngest, Cam, is currently potty training.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
And that is also going swimmingly.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
It's going... I thought I was like, I thought I
was a superior parent with my first one. Cause I
potty trained him really easily and early and he's pretty
well behaved and like courteous and a sweet kid. And
then cam humbled me. I, he humbled me and he
is taking off his diaper and pooping on our couch
(05:18):
and the floor and the kitchen. And I, I don't
know what to do because that's, I, that's my life.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
I think it's the second child thing. Because we had
the same problem. Not to the extent where he's taken
off his diaper, but we went with like, oh, kid,
just run around the house and we'll just follow you around.
But at one point he snuck away and Theo, he
pooped on our daughter's floor. But she got the double
(05:48):
whammy because the dog had also pooped in her room
on the floor within like 10 minutes of each other.
And she just cried for about an hour when it happened.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
I did too. I went too.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I went too. You come out and it's like, dude,
what's happening?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
And I think the weird thing to me, and I
don't know, you probably remember being potty trained.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I don't remember being potty trained.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
I don't. I was under two because I'm a girl
and I have manners and I don't poop in my
sister's room.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Like the fear of the toilet is fascinating to me
like I don't and maybe that's maybe that's the problem
that was the problem with Theo is that he was
like no thank you but he snuck.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Off and did it my two year old Cam will
look me dead in the eyes and push it out
like a defiance he's protesting the toilet he's like.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Take this what a what a what a kid No, he's.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
The, I love him so much, but he's the one,
my first one made me realize I can do this again,
and then my second one made me realize I'm done
with children because I can't have any more.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
The one-on-one defense is real.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
And it's especially real when they're both, I mean, our
kids are, like I said, similar ages, but when they're
two under four, like, ah, you know what?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
You have a girl, though. This would be just fine.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
You have a girl. Not trying to generalize, but I'm
going to generalize.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Dude, this kid, I don't, like, I just don't know
what to do. She went up to, she's in first grade.
She went up to her kindergarten teacher last week and said,
can I come back to your class? Oh.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
And she, you know, Miss Bradbury's so nice.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
And she's like, well, Caroline, you're too smart for this.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
And she was like, you know, I have to get braces.
And it's like, dude.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Like, the dentist told you one time you're probably going
to need braces years down the road. She's lost two teeth.
And she's already, like, concerned about when the braces are
coming on.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
So, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
It's all going great.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
All the time.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
We're clearly amazing parents.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Brooke, thanks for stopping by.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Thank you for having me.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
We have more Arizona Spin coming up right here on
Fox 10.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
If chaos was a radio show, you're listening to it.
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Welcome back, it's Arizona Spin on Fox 10+. My name
is Nick, and sometimes you can catch me on the
John Jay and Rich show on 104.7 KISS FM.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Brooke. Hi. From KNIX is here, the Tim and Brooke show.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Brooke, I went to Bucky's.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, how was it? I've never been.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I'll tell you. I, um.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
The thing that I think is most impressive about Bucky's
is the marketing.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Because you boil it down, it's a gas station.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Which is what I thought.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
And I feel like the clientele is, like, all walks
of life. And I think where I was disappointed is, like,
because they talk about, like, the food is incredible.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
You have to get the brisket. I've tried the brisket. Whatever.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
And the line was... out the door for food. So
we didn't even stay for that because the two kids
are going bananas. But man, my kids had never seen
the Bucky beaver before, but they are now obsessed. They
have a little Bucky stuffy. My daughter picked out Bucky pajamas.
(09:31):
My son picked out Bucky flip flops.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
We went in and we went all in.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
We spent like 200 bucks at a gas station and
we did not get gas.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Okay, so now are you saying, because I've been avoiding
it because I'm like, what's the big deal? I mean,
it's a gas station. Are you saying that I should
go to say that I went and that I need
to experience it? Or are you saying it's okay to
skip it?
Speaker 2 (09:54):
So I kind of was going by like, I'm going
to wait until the hype dies down because I don't
want to I just, I don't like lines and I
really don't like being in crowded places.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Right, that comes with age.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
And both of those things happened. I think it's fun
to experience, but coming from Scottsdale and going to the
west side, I'm still like, unless I'm driving out there anyway,
if I'm going to a concert or, or whatever, probably
(10:27):
not going to make another trip, but I do think
it's a fun experience.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
And like I said, the kids had a great time. Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
It was, it was me that was like having an
anxiety attack because it's like, there's, there's people everywhere. And they, my,
my son's running all over the place. Um, but the, uh, the,
the Bucky beaver, uh, I think his name is Bucky.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
He was there that day as well.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
So I've had beaver nugs. I've had those. And they
were okay.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
But I mean, yeah, I've told myself, because the hype,
I need to stop at one eventually. But I don't
think I'm going to go out of my way. If
I'm passing it, I'll pull in.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah, I think that's probably the route I would have gone.
But we were like, oh, let's just. Let's just check
it out, you know, because the kids are talking about
it at school and whatever.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
I'm easy to impress, though. I like I went to
go see the world's largest spoon.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Oh, where's that?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
In Minneapolis.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
And like I do stuff like that. So Bucky's might
fascinate me because I'm very easy to please. I one
time threw a dart at a map and I went
there like like blindfolded. And that's where I went. And
it was I landed in Moses Lake, Washington. I don't
know if you've ever been.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Well, this may surprise you.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
No, not many people have. And I had a lovely time.
And by no means is what I say. You need
to book a trip here. But it's just like I'm
in it for the experience. That's kind of me. So
maybe Bucky's would be like amazing.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I feel like I've just watched you go full circle
from like maybe I don't maybe I don't have to
go there, too.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Okay, I'm going.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
I can talk myself into something.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Then this afternoon, you're like, hey, Nick, look at all
the jerky I bought.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
I mean, listen, probably it won't compare to Moses Lake,
but I'll make a trip.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
The beaver nugs, I mean, they kind of taste like
corn pops, right? That was what I came from. The
jerky's good. I thought it's good, but I don't know. Again,
not having... Had the actual food. I don't know how
that part of it lives up to the hype. But
I will say the kids had a good time. And
(12:42):
they were disappointed when we were like, it's 1,000 degrees.
We're not getting out of the car so you can
take a picture with the statue.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
You've already. That's a bronze statue of a beaver. Right.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
And there's nothing. There's not a part of me that's like, yeah, yeah.
We need to get out and do this.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
All right. Well, this is informational for me. Thank you.
I'll consider it now.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
You also just took Bo to his first Diamondbacks game.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Yes. And is he, like, chomping at the bit to
go back? Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
He had the best time. I don't know anything about baseball,
but I love going to the games because they're fun.
I'm not a baseball fan, but I am when I'm there.
And we were pretty close, and he got to see, like,
all the players. And each player that came to bat,
I told him, like, Oh, he eats a lot of broccoli.
He eats a lot of, like I would just name
a vegetable. Cause he was like, Whoa. Cause he was
(13:37):
so fascinating. Cause he plays like little T-ball. Guess what?
Next night ate all of his vegetables, all his broccoli.
And I'm like, thank you. Wow.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
The, the, the experience at Chase field for kids, I,
they do it right.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Like, Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Being from like the St. Louis area, like Fred bird
is the mascot. And like, you have to be pretty
lucky to catch Fred bird at like, like specific parts
in the stadium.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Like, I feel like Baxter is everywhere. The entire game.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Like you turn around and you're like, what, how did
he get up to 300 level? He was just right
in front of us.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
And Randy Johnson. So my kid went for a high
five and he just kept walking. I mean, it was
the big headed Randy, but it's okay.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Oh, well, he wasn't the one that won the World Series.
He was the replica. Yeah, it was the replica guy.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
That's okay, Randy. Just don't stop for my four-year-old.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
From now on, we are boycotting. Actually, yeah, in the
big head race.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
No. No, Randall.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
No, absolutely not. Gonzo's my guy. Gonzo is the winner.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Gonzo. I think Mark Grace is the other one.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yeah, but it was so fun. It was so fun.
My kid ate like a grown man. Was just having... Pizza, dessert,
time of his life. So, yeah, we'll definitely go back.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
And when the team's good, too, it makes it more
fun as well. Are they good? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
They're fighting for a playoff spot right now.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Oh, really? Yeah. Okay, good for us.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
We're doing it. We're really doing it.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Go D-backs.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
And also at Chase Field tomorrow night, this I'm sure
interests you, My Chemical Romance and Jimmy Eat World.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Not.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
You're going to be there?
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I'm not going to be there. That's not my thing.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
You're missing out.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
I'm happy for those that are passionate about that.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Jimmy World is from here, and they're celebrating the 25
years of the Bleed American record. Can you tell me
your favorite song from that one?
Speaker 3 (15:35):
I like May Angels Lead You In.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yeah. In the middle. You know what?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
The middle is not the song, but the one you
previously mentioned. I want to get lyrics tattooed on my
arms from.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Oh, that's beautiful. I only know that song because of
One Tree Hill, the best show of all time. And
that was on that show. And I think the band
made an appearance there. But I don't know if you're familiar.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
It would be right in that time. It would be
right in that wheelhouse.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
One Tree Hill, best show ever made. So that's why
I know my angels lead you in.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Well, the only reason I was going to bring that
up is because I thought if you wanted to bring Bo,
cold beers and cheeseburgers have a special at the restaurant there.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
But we don't even have to worry about it.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
This has been Arizona Spin right here on Fox 10+.
Thanks so much for watching. You can hear Brooke on
KNIX Monday through Friday. And the John Jay and Rich
show is that time as well. Broadcasting live across the
world right now.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
This is the John Jay and Rich radio program.
