Schnitzel day yum yum I said yum before schnitzel yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
It's also steak a pivile day I don't know if
I'm saying that right in French but it's that day
and actually I don't even know what this is but
maybe you guys have heard of it it's international Sudoku.
Speaker 7 (00:49):
Day oh the game Sudoku.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
It is the game but what exactly is that.
Speaker 8 (00:53):
You probably get to play I said, okay, it's like
a puzzle.
Speaker 7 (00:55):
It's like a word puzzle.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I've seen the books. I've seen the little magazines.
Speaker 8 (00:59):
Oh, it is numbers. It is numbers.
Speaker 7 (01:01):
I think it's numbers. Yeah, I was thinking crossword puzzles.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Smart people. Smart people puzzle day. All right, Peyton, what's
going on?
Speaker 4 (01:06):
We have a couple calls online that Peyton said there's
something really interesting about them.
Speaker 8 (01:09):
Yeah, so I was like scrolling on our Instagram and
looking through our DMs and we got two DMs back
to back. And as I was looking at them, I
was like, wait, are these two connected? And then I
realized that they're not. It's just a coincidence.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
They're not connected, but we have them on the phone.
Let's see. Sierra. Hi.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Hi.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
So Peyton said you DM'd us, but so far Kyle, Rich,
and I don't know what the DM is about. So
welcome to the program. How can we help you?
Speaker 6 (01:37):
Thanks.
Speaker 9 (01:37):
I reached out because my fiance has been such a
loyal listener for years and we're actually getting married next month.
So I thought it'd be an awesome surprise to give
him a shout out on the radio since he has
no idea I'm calling.
Speaker 7 (01:48):
Oh, how fun.
Speaker 10 (01:51):
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
Speaker 9 (01:53):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
What's his name?
Speaker 6 (01:56):
His name is Vince.
Speaker 9 (01:57):
He's actually been on your show once before a long
time ago.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Tell us why. Why was he on the show? You
know what?
Speaker 11 (02:04):
I don't remember.
Speaker 9 (02:05):
He calls me every day to give me updates of
what you guys talk about. When he called me this morning, I.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
Can hear you guys in the background. I was like,
oh my God, he is going to hear me live.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
He's like, no big deal. I was calling in for
the segment, who's got a secret family in at least
three other countries.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
War of the Roses.
Speaker 9 (02:22):
Who knows?
Speaker 4 (02:23):
That's cool. Okay, well, shout out, Vince. Thanks for listening.
Speaker 9 (02:28):
Yeah, we're super, you know, excited. He was excited about
Peyton's wedding. And then, you know, when we were.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
Talking about ours, and he was like, oh, my God.
Speaker 9 (02:35):
So, you know, he means so much to me, and
he's amazing. So any little thing I can do, he
feels involved in the process.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
You're so sweet. You guys are going to be fine. Okay,
do me a favor. Hold on, okay? Hold on for
a second. Hold on a second.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Lincoln. Yes, I'm here. Hey, what's up? You're on the air.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
How can we help you?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Well, so here's what's going on.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
My fiancée, Elizabeth.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
is.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Your biggest fan of the show. She loves your show.
And she has listened to you guys for years. You
guys have helped her through some of the toughest times.
She calls you her family. And she's dying. She has
literally told me about every one of you. And one
thing that she wants so much is she was hoping
(03:16):
that you guys would come to our wedding December 19th.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
She was incredibly happy for it.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Hey, hold on a second. Hold on for one second.
Hold on for one second. Hey, Sierra.
Speaker 12 (03:27):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
We just talked to Lincoln. He's inviting us to his wedding. No,
we didn't get invited. You didn't invite us to your wedding.
Speaker 9 (03:33):
Well, in the DM, you're invited to the wedding, too.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Oh, in the DM?
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Well, you didn't say it.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Now I got to see the DM. I don't believe you.
Speaker 6 (03:39):
Because you guys didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Speaker 8 (03:43):
Can't confirm. Sierra did invite us to the wedding.
Speaker 9 (03:46):
Oh, really?
Speaker 7 (03:46):
She did?
Speaker 4 (03:47):
I was about to say.
Speaker 7 (03:48):
She did invite us.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Lincoln invited us. Have you picked out the food yet?
What kind of food you got?
Speaker 9 (03:54):
We're doing a tri-tip with a demiglaze and a chicken marsala.
We have a few artists there. And live music for
ceremony and cocktail hour.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
What's the dress?
Speaker 9 (04:08):
I can't tell you if he's listening.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Who's the band? I probably know him.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
You can't tell us the dress?
Speaker 8 (04:12):
She's talking about the dress code.
Speaker 12 (04:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (04:13):
Are you talking about the dress code?
Speaker 9 (04:15):
I'm thinking of my wedding dress.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
No, no, no.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I want to know, like, is it black tie or
is it, like, casual, like, jeans?
Speaker 11 (04:20):
It's dark and moody formal attire.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Dark and moody.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
Dark and moody.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
And who's the band?
Speaker 7 (04:25):
I probably know them.
Speaker 9 (04:28):
He is a guitarist that was on The Voice, Nelson Cade.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I don't know, but that sounds amazing.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Where is the wedding? What city are you in?
Speaker 9 (04:37):
Pomona, California. So we actually live in Arizona, but my
family's in California. So my grandma's getting older. And so
we kind of had to rush our date.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
That's different. Grandmas usually don't get older.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Hold on, Sierra. Hold on. Hold on. Hey, Lincoln.
Speaker 12 (04:55):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
What kind of food you got at your wedding?
Speaker 2 (04:58):
We have Italian food.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
That's all you had to say.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Ooh. What about the dress? Is there a theme to
your wedding?
Speaker 5 (05:07):
So there is no theme. So I want to let.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
You guys, I'm a pro wrestler out here in Arizona.
She's always supported me and been to every one of
my shows.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
And I wanted to do one thing.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
And that was to get her on the phone with
you guys to tell her if it's okay. If that's
okay on your side, she is going to go ballistic
if she hears your voice.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Like literally.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Oh, you want us to call her?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Would you be able to if you guys are going
to go? Not pressuring anyone.
Speaker 13 (05:31):
Where is the wedding?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
The wedding is in Mesa, Arizona at Garden Tuscana.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Oh, Mesa.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
That's... December 19th.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
That's far. No, it's not.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, but it's flying through.
Speaker 8 (05:44):
No, it is. That is 20 miles away.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It is.
Speaker 7 (05:48):
I mean, it's closer than Pomona, California.
Speaker 11 (05:51):
That's too limiting.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
That's too limiting. What is it?
Speaker 4 (05:54):
December 19th, you said? December 19th?
Speaker 5 (05:56):
December 19th, yes.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
I tell you what, why don't we all check? And
if we're available, I think it'd be fun to go.
I think it'd be fun, too. I think it'd be
fun to go.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
We haven't done that in a long time.
Speaker 9 (06:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (06:03):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
That would be phenomenal, guys.
Speaker 7 (06:05):
I do love a good wedding.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah. All right.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
What about the band?
Speaker 4 (06:08):
We don't have a band.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
We have a DJ.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
It's a Middle Eastern Assyrian wedding, half and half Mexican.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Oh, dude. That's going to go off. I ate at
a Middle Eastern Mexican restaurant last week. It was so good. Oh, wow.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Oh, wow, I didn't even know there was one existing.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, no, it's in San Diego.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
I can't remember the name of it, but it was
like you got carne asada, then you got the rice,
the Middle Eastern rice. It was phenomenal. I'm in.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
Yes.
Speaker 10 (06:41):
You can't say that unless you mean it, John Jay.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Hold on, hold on.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Is the food going to be stations, like a buffet,
or is it going to be brought to you?
Speaker 5 (06:51):
Brought to you. Don't worry about it.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
I know you wouldn't want to move off.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
The table, John.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
It'll come to you, my man.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
I like this. Hold on a line. Hold on a line.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Sierra, what's the date of your wedding?
Speaker 2 (07:03):
10-24-26.
Speaker 14 (07:07):
Oh, October.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
The Saturday. Okay. We'll commit further out, but we will
commit sooner up. We're going to regroup, and we're looking.
If you're serious, we'll respond to you. We'll see if
we're all in town.
Speaker 15 (07:18):
No, we're serious.
Speaker 9 (07:19):
We're serious, so you let me know.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
All right.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Thank you, Sia. If anybody else wants to invite us
to your wedding, we need to know what kind of food.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
You're going to have. And if it's buffet. Hey, Lincoln,
thanks for the invite. We're going to regroup and see
if we can all be available on that day, December 19th.
That's very cool. Thank you for listening. Thanks for the invite.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Of course.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Thank you, brother.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
That is so nice. People are so nice, right?
Speaker 9 (07:44):
They are.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
They're so nice. That'd be so much fun.
Speaker 8 (07:47):
Stop just yelling at the radio.
Speaker 14 (07:50):
Call us.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
877-937-1047.
Speaker 14 (07:53):
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Payne, what's the vibe for horoscopes today?
Speaker 8 (07:58):
I'm letting you know how your zodiac sign handles running
into your ex. So, yeah, also if it's your birthday today,
you are a Virgo and you share a birthday with
Adam Sandler and Michael Bublé.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
So if you run into your ex, this is how
your signs go.
Speaker 8 (08:11):
This is how you act. So, well, John Jay, you're
a Virgo, so I'm just going to start with you.
So if you run into your ex, you're going to
hit them with, like, a quick little corporate style inspection. Like,
you're going to stand from afar. You're going to see
what they're wearing, what their shoes are. You're going to
check their vibe. And then you're going to know every
single flaw that they had. And you're going to leave
feeling deeply validated by your choice of not being with them.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
The only thing is I do that with every person
I meet.
Speaker 16 (08:35):
Accurate.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
That is true.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Holly, good morning. What's your sign?
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Aquarius.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
All right, Holly.
Speaker 8 (08:45):
So if you run into your ex just randomly, you're
going to give them like a weird like detached wave
and hit them with like a super random fact. And
then you're going to walk away leaving them super confused
on whether or not you even cared about them in
the first place.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Interesting. I just found out about two weeks ago my
ex is dead.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Is that good news or bad news?
Speaker 1 (09:07):
I mean, high school boyfriend. So, you know, but I mean,
it was kind of sad. But I went, wow, that's weird.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
So if you run into him, you're going to be like,
you must be a ghost.
Speaker 8 (09:17):
That would be weird if she ran into him. That's
for sure.
Speaker 12 (09:20):
Right.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Like if he showed up. How'd you find out two
weeks ago?
Speaker 4 (09:23):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Facebook post or did he visit you?
Speaker 1 (09:26):
No, his aunt called me, and I haven't, I mean,
I really haven't talked to these people since Corona. I mean,
since 25 years.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Weird.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Coronavirus was 25 years ago?
Speaker 7 (09:37):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
When you're in a pandemic.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Wow. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Are we in the future, John? Yeah, I guess so.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
We must have re-signed that contract.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
All right, Holly.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Oh, my, my, my.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Thanks for calling in, Holly. Thanks for listening.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Have a great day, you guys.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
You too.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Sarah.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Good morning. What's your sign?
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Hi.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
I'm a tourist.
Speaker 8 (10:01):
Okay, so for my tourist today, this is how you're
going to act when you run into your ex. So
you're actually going to pull off like a master class
in total coldness. You're going to hit them with a
little head nod and keep walking like you didn't spend
six months of your life with them and head straight
to go get some food because you're like, yeah, not
my problem anymore.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 9 (10:20):
Yes, that sounds totally awesome because, yeah, I've got an
ex like that.
Speaker 17 (10:23):
Bye-bye.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
That sounds so awesome.
Speaker 9 (10:27):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 17 (10:28):
I enjoy your guys' morning station, too.
Speaker 16 (10:31):
You guys are awesome.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Thank you, Sarah. Thank you for listening.
Speaker 9 (10:34):
You guys have a wonderful day.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
You too.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Let's do Libras.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
Okay, Kyle. So if you were to run into your ex,
you would get caught in like a wave of sudden panic.
You would like smile aggressively, agree to catch up for
coffee sometime with like zero intention of ever doing it.
And then you're going to spend the rest of the
day stressed out about how you handled the whole situation.
Speaker 9 (10:52):
Totally.
Speaker 7 (10:53):
And they're like, I want to be nice. But I'm like,
why would I say I would go to coffee? I'm
not going to coffee.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I'm not going to coffee.
Speaker 12 (10:56):
I don't like you.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
Why would I even do that?
Speaker 9 (10:57):
What?
Speaker 4 (10:59):
How about Pisces?
Speaker 8 (11:00):
Rich, if you run into your ex, you're going to
lock eyes. You're going to immediately get sucked back into
all those flashbacks of the good memories. And they're just
for the next three hours drafting an unsent paragraph text
in your notes.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Don't ask for like all my CDs and stuff back.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Exactly.
Speaker 8 (11:15):
Can I have my jacket that you never gave back?
It's going to be you.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
All right, Peyton, how about for you, for Leo's?
Speaker 8 (11:21):
Yeah, Leos, if we run into our ex, we are
going to do like a quick mental inventory of what
we are wearing. We're going to adjust our posture so
we can look like we are the baddest B in
the room.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
And we're going to.
Speaker 8 (11:31):
Make sure that they notice how ridiculously good we look
without them.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
All right, very good. If we didn't get to your sign,
they're all posted on our website, jauntyandrich.com. Call us now.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
877-937-1047.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Peyton, what are you working on?
Speaker 8 (11:48):
Well, apparently the post-breakup glow-up is real. So basically, if
you leave your man, you're going to get way hotter.
And there's scientific proof. Psychologists and aesthetic experts are saying
that this can be emotional and physical. So I was like,
this is actually kind of tea.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
The post-breakup glow-up. glow up. So you break up and
you get really good looking.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Exactly.
Speaker 8 (12:08):
This is why, because your stress can go down. So
less relationship stress can mean lower cortisol. You may start
sleeping better, which obviously, I mean, we say it all
the time, sleep, it heals all. Less inflammation, it means
your skin's going to start looking better, your circulation, your
hair is going to grow. But the biggest thing is
that you start focusing on yourself again. So once you
start focusing on yourself and putting that energy into you,
(12:30):
all of the things in your life are going to
come right back. And you're just going to be hotter
than everyone.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Wasn't that, was it Khloe Kardashian that did something like
that happen?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Or was it a TV show she had?
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
She did it, right?
Speaker 4 (12:40):
It was a TV show?
Speaker 7 (12:41):
It was like something revenge, but revenge body.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Revenge body. Oh, that's cool.
Speaker 8 (12:46):
See, but that's so valid though, because sometimes it's like,
you do just need to lose that man. Sometimes he
is really draining the life out of you.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
You know what? Hold on a second. Joanna, you got
a post-glow up story?
Speaker 8 (12:57):
I do.
Speaker 17 (12:59):
So it's kind of a long one, so I greatly apologize.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
It's okay.
Speaker 17 (13:02):
Um, So last year I got broken up with and
I kind of like lost myself with my friends and
making new people. I'm kind of an outgoing person. And
so anyways, I went to this concert and met this
guy named Austin Martin. He's like a kind of like
a famous singer or whatever. Listen to his music for years. Well,
after that, um, I went to another concert of his
(13:25):
that actually got canceled. And there I had met a girl,
like a 16-year-old girl or whatever. And she saw my
shirt of his.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
And she was like, oh, my God, I.
Speaker 17 (13:36):
Know that song. So then, like, I gave her the
shirt and posted about it. And Austin had shared it. Well,
then I've been kind of like on his radar.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
And then for some reason we became friends.
Speaker 17 (13:46):
And so because of him, I ended up making other
friends in Billings, Montana. And like this vibe marketing place,
like we're all friends, a bunch of rappers, a bunch
of comedians. And so like we all just became these friends.
And now often I've been invited to his album release party.
I actually got to go to. back in June. And
(14:09):
then I actually got to go up to see him
this weekend. And he's actually coming to my town in
a few weeks. And he's coming and celebrating his album
with all of us and partying with me and all
my friends. So it's been kind of cool. He's really
fun and interesting. But all because of the breakup, I
decided to go out and start doing concerts again. And
then I made friends with him and some of his friends.
(14:30):
And now we're all friends.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
I keep trying to Google him. All I can find
is the car, Aston Martin.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Oh, that's nice, too. She's friends with the car.
Speaker 17 (14:38):
No, it's Aston Martin Montana. His hit song is called Wrangler,
and he actually did a remix with Chingy. Chingy went
to Billions Montana and did the music video with him.
um so it's actually really cool that to get to
meet him or whatever and his album just came out
this year it's called yellowstone county which is what billings
(14:58):
montana is.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Is it country is it what is it what kind
of music.
Speaker 17 (15:03):
It's country rap is what they put country.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Rap okay he's kind of like he's like it looks
like he's a jelly roll type.
Speaker 17 (15:09):
Of guy kind of yeah and it's really good he
um Like I said, his hit song is Wrangler, and
that's what was written on my sweater that I met
this 16-year-old girl in Omaha, Nebraska. And I went to
go to a different concert to visit somebody else, and
she started reading the lyrics that he wrote on the back,
and she was like, take off these Wrangler jeans. And
(15:31):
I laughed because I turned around. So I'm like, oh,
my God, somebody knows who Austin is. And I turn
around and she's like screaming with joy. She's like, oh,
my God, that's an Austin Martin shirt. She's like, have
you seen him in concert? I was like, absolutely have.
I was like, he's amazing. He's actually a really sweet
person to talk to. You know, he grew up on
his parents ranch. So like he he kind of grew
(15:51):
up with those cowboy roots. And her and I talked
for hours. I mean, this poor girl, she was 16.
She was super excited and she always wanted to see
him in concert. So I went to my hotel room,
changed out of that sweater and gave her the sweater.
And so I posted about it and Austin actually shared it.
And now I've been, then I was like kind of
like on his radar about it.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
And you told us this already.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 17 (16:15):
And it was really fun and it was just really cool.
And then, like I said, we just became friends from that.
Speaker 11 (16:19):
Sorry.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
No, that's good.
Speaker 9 (16:21):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
I love that. That's cool.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
I thought, Oh my God, I feel some, when you
said you feel sorry for the 15 year old, so
did I, I thought you were starting to tell her
over and over again that you're going to go get it.
That's what I'm going to do this winter.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Wait right here. Wait right here in the lobby. Austin's
in front of mine.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Hold on.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
That's Joanna, thanks for calling in. Thanks for listening.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Have a great day.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (16:38):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (16:39):
You too.
Speaker 11 (16:39):
Bye.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Ari, you have a post breakup glow up story. Am
I right?
Speaker 6 (16:45):
I so do.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
What happened?
Speaker 17 (16:48):
OK, so my breakup glow up was actually disrespectful. So
I was with.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
This man for three years.
Speaker 18 (16:57):
And I was looking tired.
Speaker 14 (17:00):
Right.
Speaker 17 (17:00):
I I gained like 20 pounds.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
I stopped doing my hair.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
I like lived in his oversized T-shirts all the time,
like the whole thing. And when he dumped me, he
said he needed to go find himself.
Speaker 17 (17:14):
So apparently I found myself, too, because six months later,
I'm down 25 pounds.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
I got my teeth fixed.
Speaker 17 (17:24):
I started Pilates and I got promoted and my skin
cleared up, too.
Speaker 8 (17:29):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Man, he was really sucking the life out of you.
Speaker 17 (17:34):
I know.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
That's what I said.
Speaker 6 (17:35):
I mean, he slid into my DMs last week, actually,
and he was like, oh, my God, you look amazing.
Speaker 17 (17:41):
And I said, thank you.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
It turns out I was allergic to you. And then
I blocked him.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
What was that when you say you got your teeth fixed?
What was it? What kind of teeth did you have?
Did they go buck teeth, giant teeth?
Speaker 6 (17:52):
I had some severe buck teeth.
Speaker 9 (17:54):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Do you think he told his friends? Do you guys
have a nickname for you behind your back? Do you
guys see Buck Teeth?
Speaker 7 (17:59):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Buck Teeth got her teeth fixed.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
No way.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
She looks so hot. She lost three pounds. Look at
Buck Teeth. He's showing all his friends pictures of you
and like, wow, man, you screwed that up. You need
to get back with Buck Teeth.
Speaker 6 (18:08):
I know.
Speaker 17 (18:08):
He screwed it up now.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
All right.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
All right.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Well, congratulations. Crazy cool.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
Good job, girl.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
We might give you tickets to Austin.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
What's his name?
Speaker 8 (18:16):
Austin Martin Montana.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Austin Martin Montana for you. You can hang out with Joanna.
All right. All right.
Speaker 17 (18:22):
Hold on.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Thanks for calling in. It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 14 (18:25):
If chaos was a radio show, you're listening to it.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Hey, it's time for Stacks and Hacks. I have stacks
of information. Rich has life hacks. This is very, very
important information. According to a report, the most popular beer
in America, Michelob Ultra.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
Really?
Speaker 4 (18:44):
The least popular beer is Milwaukee's Best Ice. Beer drinkers,
according to new research, smoking... actually leads to increased loneliness.
So you actually do become lonelier over time as a smoker.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
I think it's because there's more people that aren't smokers.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
That would make sense.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
So they stay away from you.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Sitting there all by yourself outside of your building, just smoking, pacing.
Get this.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
A contemporary art exhibition took an unexpected turn last week
when an art collector offered $ 4, 000. She saw some art.
I want that piece. That's $ 4, 000. I'll give you $ 4, 000
for it. Turned out it was a broken vacuum cleaner
from the janitorial staff on the corner.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
It wasn't even a piece of art.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Did they sell it?
Speaker 3 (19:27):
I'm sure they sold it.
Speaker 7 (19:28):
That would be embarrassing.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Now, I'm not sure if this is going to turn
into a Disney movie or not, but 101 cats were
found inside a home in Washington State. 101 cats. Oh,
my gosh.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
In one house?
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Yeah, some hoarder. No way.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
That smells good in there.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I'm going to call this Unfortunate Ways to Die number one.
A man who just celebrated his 40th year wedding anniversary
and retirement passed away in a freak car accident involving
10 feral hogs oh what yeah he must have crashed
into him and they must do something like that he
died that's sad i'm gonna call this unfortunate ways to
(20:02):
die number two A 43-year-old influencer died after undergoing junk
enlargement surgery in Thailand. I saw that on Instagram trending.
Speaker 8 (20:11):
Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 9 (20:12):
Right?
Speaker 8 (20:12):
That's sad. And he was with his fiancee on a trip.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
I know.
Speaker 8 (20:16):
Just enjoying.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
That's so scary. And this sounds bad, what I'm about
to tell you. In fact, I went and had sushi
the other night after reading this story. Scientists found parasites
in almost every fish from a recent tuna hole. 96%
of the tuna was infected. Are you kidding me?
Speaker 10 (20:34):
You know, my friend like refuses to eat sushi anymore.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Because of that?
Speaker 4 (20:39):
Yeah. I saw that survey. I brought it up at
dinner with my friends and they, two of them still, well,
his wife wouldn't eat sushi, but we still did.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Doesn't that why they bring out the wasabi and the
ginger to kill some of the bacteria? That's what that's
kind of originally for.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Okay, so we have officially entered the BRR months, September, October, November, December.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
So a post on social media is going viral because
I guess these last four months of the year, the
end of the day is like 30, 31, 30, and
31 days, right? So it's difficult to keep track for
some people, they say. So a post on social media
is going viral where someone says, it's kind of dumb
that months are different lengths. 365 should be divided into
five equal months of 73 days each.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
February, April, August, October, and December. That's everything we're looking for.
I can't get down with that.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
Millions of people saw the post. It attracted 40,000 likes
and comments and more if you just count the accounts
that are sharing it.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Yeah, why are we doing stuff stupid? Do it smart
like that.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
I figure if Trump can go ahead and change Lake
Ontario to Lake America and to Gulf America, maybe he
can shorten up the years a little bit. Isn't that
wild that it's going viral like that? What do you
have for life hacks?
Speaker 2 (21:48):
You're right.
Speaker 8 (21:48):
It doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Well, yeah, this is for procrastinators because a lot of
people say, I would love to get to your life hacks,
but I just don't feel like it because I'm a procrastinator.
So here is a good midweek thing for you. Now,
if you see you've got a huge pile of work
in front of you and you're doing everything except actually
starting it, the four-minute rule. Do you guys know what
the four-minute rule is? Set your little alarm on your
(22:10):
clock for four minutes. Then you just start something. Like
open the document, make the call, start cleaning, whatever it
is and say in four minutes, I'm going to stop
because the trick is starting is often the hardest part.
Once you're four minutes in, you've pretty much broken through
the procrastination wall and it's a whole lot easier to
keep going. You're probably going to decide to keep on
(22:31):
going unless, of course, you just stop, which is, you know,
your prerogative, too. And if you want to start reading
your life hack and stopping right in the middle of it.
We will post it at johnjandrich.com. The commercials are finally over.
Speaker 14 (22:44):
Let's get back to John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
I want you guys to think about your partner, your spouse,
your husband, your wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, okay? And
I saw this. This is so interesting. It's eight things
that feel easy with the right person. but exhausting with
the wrong one.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Oh, this is good.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
This is good. I want to know this.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Okay, gut check.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
You're driving right now. You're listening to this. You're in
a relationship. Things aren't going well. If things are going well,
you always just question whether it's the right person or not.
I will give you the answers. This is so good. Okay,
so these are eight things that feel easy with the
right person, exhausting with the wrong one. Sitting in silence.
Speaker 19 (23:25):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (23:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (23:26):
Right?
Speaker 7 (23:26):
With the wrong person, you're like, I feel like I
have to say something. What am I supposed to say?
And with the right person, you're just like, oh.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
We're chilling.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
You know, I feel like sometimes this works with friends too. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
That one does.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
There's a couple of friends of mine, I could just
be totally quiet and never, ever say anything.
Speaker 9 (23:40):
Right?
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Telling them your good news.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
You got the job. You ran a mile. Something small
and shiny happened to you. Your first instinct is to
tell them. With the right person, that instinct pays off.
They ask a follow-up question. They want details. The win
gets bigger in the retelling, which is half the reason
human share wins at all. With the wrong person, you
learn to pre-shinker announcements.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Wow, boy, that's sad, right?
Speaker 8 (24:03):
Yeah, because sometimes it's like if it's the wrong person
and you tell them something exciting, they might not be
excited for you. They might be your low-key number one hater.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 18 (24:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
You've watched too many of them land on flat.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
Nice. Before the conversation swings elsewhere. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Yeah, sure.
Speaker 10 (24:17):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (24:18):
Or like they get jealous of you and aren't happy
for you.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
If that is your world, that is a bad place
for you to be.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Things that feel easy with the right person, exhausting with
the wrong one. Disagreeing about something small. Every couple disagrees
about the thermostat, the route, the correct amount of cilantro.
The question is what a small disagreement costs with the
right person.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
It costs nothing.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Somebody makes a joke mid-argument, somebody rolls their eyes affectionately,
and the whole thing deflates before it ever becomes a thing.
With the wrong person, there are no small disagreements. Every
difference of opinion is a loose thread on a much
larger sweater, and you've learned not to pull. The deflating
move has a name. Number four.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Asking for what you actually need. Can you handle dinner tonight?
Speaker 4 (25:00):
I'm wiped. With the right person, they cost nine words.
With the wrong person, the same request requires a full
internal legal brief. You draft it, soften it. That's good.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
I like these so far because it's like, yeah, the
big things you should be able to handle, but the
little things you should be able to handle too. You
should be able to handle both of them. Having an
off day in front of them.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
With the right person, you're allowed to be a lesser
version of yourself.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
On Thursdays, unfunny, unshowered.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
They don't take it personally and you don't have to
manage the reaction to the mood on top of the
mood itself. With the wrong person, there's no such thing
as clocking out. You feel your face arranging itself the
moment they walk in. You perform well. fineness. You edit
a bad day into a lighter, more palatable antidote. The
performance isn't free. In a series of studies, a psychologist
says that effortful self-presentation, the work of overriding your natural
(25:48):
tendencies to manage your impression of people, this is deplorable
fuel tank.
Speaker 18 (25:53):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
So if you're trying to just act like everything's okay
when it's totally not for the other person, that's bad.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
That's bad.
Speaker 9 (26:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:01):
I mean, that takes a lot of energy.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Spending time apart. With the right person, a weekend apart
is just a weekend. They go do their thing, you
go do your thing, and the reunion is a small
pleasure rather than a relief. With the wrong person, distance
is a live wire. Either you're the one refreshing the
phone and decoding response times, or you're the one on
trial for wanting a night with your friends. Interesting, right?
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Yeah. I just had like a week away from my
wife and I thought it was, I missed her, but
it was cool when she came back. And there was
none of that.
Speaker 8 (26:30):
You shouldn't be worried if your man goes on a
boy's trip or something.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
You're busy. You text me when you can text. We'll
talk when you can talk.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Making small decisions together. Where should we eat? Which movie?
Whose family gets Thanksgiving this year? Those aren't hard problems.
They're barely problems with the right person. They resolve in
90 seconds because both of you are actually trying to
land the plane. With the wrong person, where should we
ease a trap with three exits, all locks, right? I mean,
it's so interesting. Hear about being stressed while they're in
(26:58):
the room. Bad news arrives, the email, the diagnosis, the
number that doesn't add up. With the right person nearby,
the bad news is still bad, but it's somehow sized differently.
Their present works like whatever. With the wrong person, stress compounds.
Now there are two problems, the original one and managing
their anxiety, their opinions, their need to make your crisis
about them. Interesting, right?
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
So take that with you. If you're sitting there right
now and you're listening to this thinking whether you're with
the right person or the wrong person, maybe we gave
you some answers.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Or it might be time for you to bounce.
Speaker 14 (27:28):
You know when it gets to last call and all
the dudes kind of start creeping up on you?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
We have the solution.
Speaker 8 (27:34):
Give them the.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
John Jay and Rich drunk dial line.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
602-888-1933.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
It's John Jay and Rich. What are you laughing at, Kyle?
Speaker 10 (27:46):
Oh my gosh, you guys, there's this Reddit thread that's
like literally blowing up and I'm dying right now. Okay,
so this person shared a story about how they started
a new job and they're going over all of the rules, right?
And they throw in, oh, and also there's no air
fryers at your desk.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
And they're like, that was kind of out of the blue.
So of course I had to like investigate. Now why
when they're... training in the onboard session. Do you have
to say this?
Speaker 10 (28:09):
And apparently one guy was making wings during like a
zoom and like, like it like started like smoking and
set out the fire alarm and.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
Literally like the whole building had to be like exit.
Speaker 10 (28:23):
And then so, and then so like everyone else, they're like,
so are we the only one?
Speaker 7 (28:27):
Are we the only business that has like these weird rules?
Because one idiot messed it up.
Speaker 10 (28:31):
And all these people are sharing all these different, like,
weird rules they have and the reasons behind them. So, like,
one rule was there's no fish anywhere in the building.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Well, yeah, that's obvious.
Speaker 7 (28:42):
And it's like, someone reheated salmon every day for a week.
People complain, blah, blah, blah, blah. No alcohol in desk drawers.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Like.
Speaker 10 (28:49):
Apparently, this was a big enough problem that they felt
the need to actually make that an official rule in
the building.
Speaker 7 (28:56):
John, you're going to hate this one, but no bare
feet in the office.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Oh, that's terrible.
Speaker 10 (29:00):
Because one guy would kick off his shoes every day,
and apparently his feet were so bad, like HR had
to get involved, and they just.
Speaker 7 (29:06):
Had to do this blanket rule.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
That makes it into the company mandate.
Speaker 10 (29:11):
There was one that was like no changing clothes in
the conference rooms because someone kept using the conference rooms
like their dress room before like dates and co-workers walked
in on this guy more than once oh.
Speaker 8 (29:22):
My gosh that would happen here do you know how
many times I randomly like go and change in random
rooms here you always have to like have a guard
out for you.
Speaker 10 (29:30):
I know and then this one made me laugh so
bad because I feel like like we would never follow
this rule right here on the John Jay and Rich
show no costumes unless it's an official costume day.
Speaker 8 (29:42):
I want to come in costume every day.
Speaker 9 (29:45):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Maybe you're out of laundry. The only thing you have
left is your Halloween getup.
Speaker 10 (29:49):
Somebody apparently wore a full Spider-Man suit to work because
he lost a fantasy football bet, but he refused to
take the mask off in meetings.
Speaker 8 (29:57):
What? That is a good friend right there. He knows
how to hold down his phone.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Hold on a second. Hold on. Reese, you got one
of these weird rules at work?
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 20 (30:07):
I'm so glad you guys are talking about this right
now because, like, my company has this new rule where
we're not allowed to bring anyone back to our, like,
company hotel when we're out. And this guy, he brought
some girl back to his room. And then the next
day he woke up, laptop, wallet, like work phone, keys,
(30:27):
everything was gone.
Speaker 18 (30:29):
They ended up finding it.
Speaker 20 (30:31):
Like they tracked the phone down to the strip club.
The girl had used his company credit card, $ 600 at Target.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Oh no.
Speaker 20 (30:40):
So now we're not allowed to bring anyone to our
hotel room.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Just one guy. Just his bad move ruined it for everybody.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Because what?
Speaker 8 (30:48):
He got robbed?
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Yeah. So one person screwed it all up.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yeah, nobody can have fun anymore.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
Yeah, he ruined it for everyone.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Thanks, Reese. Thanks for calling in. Let's do that.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
877-937-1047.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
Let's hear about any kind of weird rules you have
at work because one person screwed it up. I always
think that sometimes when I go to certain places, you
go to the bathroom, it'll say... Oh, don't flush. It'll
say only flush toilet paper in the toilet. And I'm like,
what the hell else people put in there? I know,
but somebody, somebody threw something in there, uh, cause the
(31:18):
toilet to overflow. And he said, why would you throw
this toaster in here? No more toasters in the toilet.
We want to hear your dumb rule at work. We
want you to be part of the show. Call us 877-937-1047.
Speaker 14 (31:29):
Get on the air with John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
We want to know your weird work rules.
Speaker 11 (31:37):
Mickey Ray, good morning.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Where do you work? I am a dog groomer.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
I actually work at Petco.
Speaker 13 (32:03):
And we are no longer allowed to wear our headphones.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Because?
Speaker 13 (32:12):
Because employees couldn't get along. And it's always kind of
been a rule that we weren't supposed to. But they
let us slide on it because I work in the
grooming salon. You know, it's high stress. And then these
employees were fighting with each other in front of other customers.
And so they took that privilege away.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
What if we had that rule that you couldn't wear
any headphones? I guess that would never be a rule here.
Speaker 8 (32:37):
I thought it was going to be like they were
forcing them to talk in makeup. So you had to
block them out by their headphones.
Speaker 13 (32:44):
Right.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
The benefit of headphones when you're grooming is that you
don't have to hear the shears and all that stuff, right?
So you've got headphones in, you listen to music. It
makes sense to me that you would have headphones on.
Speaker 6 (32:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (32:58):
And it just like, when you have a dog that's
misbehaving or even like the blow dryers that we're using,
like it just gets loud and overwhelming and it just,
it helps to have something in your ear.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
Okay. That's a weird work rule at Petco where the
pets go. Thanks Mickey Ray. Thanks for calling in. Have
a great day.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (33:18):
Thank you.
Speaker 21 (33:19):
You too.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Hello, Sabrina.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
So Kyle found this Reddit talking about weird work rules.
It's hard to say that weird work rules.
Speaker 9 (33:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Do you have one, Sabrina?
Speaker 18 (33:28):
Say it three times real fast. None of the men
in production are allowed to use the front restroom. Only
the women. If there's a guy in the office, he's
allowed to use the front restroom because the production guys
are gross.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Somebody ruined it for everybody else. They got to walk
all the way to the back.
Speaker 18 (33:53):
I know who ruined it, and I was like, nope,
it's not happening anymore.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
And where do you work, Sabrina? What kind of work?
Speaker 18 (34:02):
Denmark Foods. I'm an accountant for Denmark Foods.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Denmark Foods, huh?
Speaker 3 (34:06):
What's that?
Speaker 18 (34:07):
Yeah, like brats and stuff you buy at Fry's or
Safeway and ground chicken, ground pork. But we do a
lot of brats and jalapeno boppers.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Well, thank you for calling in and sharing that weird
work rule.
Speaker 18 (34:24):
Thank you. Have a nice day.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Good morning, Emily.
Speaker 21 (34:28):
Hey, so my work role is just for me only.
My boss tells me I'm not allowed to talk to
the new people.
Speaker 18 (34:35):
So they're out of training.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
Too distracting.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Too distracting.
Speaker 12 (34:40):
Too witty.
Speaker 21 (34:42):
I don't know, but that's just a personal rule. She
catches me talking to them.
Speaker 17 (34:45):
She has to go, this is about work, right?
Speaker 21 (34:47):
And I'll have to usually just lie. You're like, I'm just.
Speaker 8 (34:52):
Trying to get to know them.
Speaker 21 (34:54):
I'm showing them how to talk to customers.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
That's how we do it here.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
That's a whole other subcategory. What is the work rule
for just you? That's your job.
Speaker 21 (35:04):
Yeah, I feel like most people should get fired if
they have a personal rule, but I don't know. I've
been there for like four and a half years, so
I think they let it slide.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
You're just being friendly. And what kind of work do
you do, Emily?
Speaker 21 (35:15):
I'm a bartender and server, so, you know, you got
to have a personality. You got to be fun.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Totally. Where do you bartend?
Speaker 21 (35:23):
It's called Rick's on 95th. It's like a mile from
the Cardinal Stadium.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
It's just a bar grill.
Speaker 21 (35:30):
Yeah, it's pretty good food. If you guys are in
the area, come check it out.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
Oh, it's good food?
Speaker 2 (35:34):
What kind of food?
Speaker 3 (35:35):
When you say it's good food, what kind of food?
Speaker 21 (35:37):
It's just regular bar food, like burgers, pizza, sandwiches, abs.
They even have some little authentic Mexican dishes in there.
Speaker 16 (35:45):
Like ceviche, video tacos, stuff like that.
Speaker 21 (35:48):
It's actually really good for bar food.
Speaker 5 (35:50):
All right.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Sounds good. You got it. Next time I go to
Cardinal's game, I'll pop by.
Speaker 21 (35:54):
Yeah, and the first game today for NFL, guys. So
come in.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
I'll be there.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
It's today.
Speaker 5 (35:57):
You're right.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Have a good one. You're right. Thanks. Have a great day, Emily.
Speaker 6 (36:01):
Thanks, guys.
Speaker 12 (36:01):
Bye.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
Speaking of food, Rich, I thought maybe it's time for
food news since you just talked about food and Rich's
new segment, Food News.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
And now, John Jay and Rich present.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Food News.
Speaker 19 (36:13):
Food News.
Speaker 10 (36:14):
John Jay and Rich have Food News.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
What I mean. I think as far as the innovation goes,
nobody is coming close to Taco Bell. And I think, Kyle,
you're going to really like this. They're teaming up with
salt in straw ice cream.
Speaker 8 (36:33):
I saw this.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
It's an ice cream taco, a churro taco.
Speaker 10 (36:37):
I know, but it's sad because it's not going to
be everywhere. Like for a limited time, it's going to
be like only a couple of the restaurants have it.
I'm like, let's make it worldwide.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
So it's like the choco taco, choco loco taco. It's
a new take on that. May I describe it to
you to tempt your temptations? Churro ice cream inside a
crispy waffle cone shell covered with puffed rice in a
dark chocolate flavored coating. It's $ 3. 99, and guess what, Kyle?
Next week, available nationwide for a limited time.
Speaker 7 (37:06):
Limited time. Try Tuesday.
Speaker 8 (37:08):
Yes, well, I saw there was one at the Taco
Bell by my house, and I was like, I'm coming
back for you.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
And White Castle is teamed up with the Kelsey Brothers.
They own some kind of beer, and they're doing beer
cheese with everything.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
And it's teamed up with their beer brand. So that
is your... Food News.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
And now, John Jay and Rich present Food News.
Speaker 4 (37:31):
Football is back. It is back tonight.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
And you probably.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Know there is not a theme for a Wednesday night.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
That's very funny.
Speaker 7 (37:52):
Yeah, tonight's like a Super Bowl rematch, right? Seahawks-Patriots.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
The same people that were in the Super Bowl last year.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
Oh, that's so funny.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
If you asked me who was in the Super Bowl,
I'd be like, no.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
I know.
Speaker 10 (38:01):
I only knew that because a headline popped up this morning.
And then with it was something really cool. And I
think everybody's really excited for it. I guess the Super
Bowl this year lands on Presidency Weekend.
Speaker 7 (38:13):
So the Monday after is a holiday.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
Finally!
Speaker 8 (38:17):
Haven't we been saying that the day after.
Speaker 7 (38:19):
The Super Bowl?
Speaker 8 (38:20):
Because everyone gets together for the parties. And you probably
have a little bit too much to drink and too
much dip.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
I saw this thing that said Miley Cyrus is confirmed
for a Super Bowl halftime show, but it's one of those.
It showed up on my feed, and then I found
the two of them. I looked at it, and I
was like, is this real? And then I clicked on
it to read the comments, and then when I clicked
out and started scrolling, everything after that was Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
Do you know what I mean, how it does that?
Speaker 4 (38:44):
So I was like, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
That could be, I mean, she's got a new album out.
That makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 8 (38:48):
If she doesn't do the Super Bowl, then she'll definitely
headline Coachella. But if she headlines Coachella, then maybe she'll
do the Super Bowl. So I'm like, which one are
we going to find out first?
Speaker 4 (38:57):
Well, if you're her, I think you probably sell more tickets,
more albums after Super Bowl. It's like every single performer
at Super Bowl has always broken some records and stuff
like that, business-wise. Yeah. Right? I mean, or can't she
do both?
Speaker 8 (39:11):
That would be epic.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
She could totally do both. She's Miley.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
We're going to play Minute to Win It, so we
need a contestant at 877-937-1047. Jen, you've got a weird
work rule.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
I do.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
I have two.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
So, we are not.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Jen, you've got a weird work rule.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
I do.
Speaker 7 (39:24):
I have.
Speaker 18 (39:27):
Two.
Speaker 16 (39:28):
So we are not allowed to have any pens and
paper at our desk because of the CCPA, the Credit
Card Protection Act, because some idiot decided to write down
a credit card number and go buy a big mac
at mcdonald's.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
So you're not.
Speaker 16 (39:49):
I'm not i wish i was kidding i wish i
was kidding but i'm not.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
That's so weird you can't have any pen or paper
at your desk so you tell me this.
Speaker 11 (39:58):
Guy can't be writing anything yeah so like there's like
maybe sometimes there's like five minutes in between calls and
there's nothing to do and and so like and we
have no games on our computer um And I'm not, like,
talking crap about my job, but just, you know, we
can't do a crossword puzzle or anything like that because
(40:20):
we can't have any paper pens.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
So you're telling me this guy writes down a number
and you can walk into McDonald's with a number on
a piece of paper and say, here's my credit card.
I'd like a Big Mac.
Speaker 11 (40:31):
No, you put it in a digital app.
Speaker 14 (40:33):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
Still. Beyond me. Beyond me.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
I know.
Speaker 8 (40:37):
He just ordered it online.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Oh, he went on.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
The McDonald's app. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Sorry, I didn't
get it.
Speaker 7 (40:47):
What was the other one?
Speaker 4 (40:50):
What was the other one, Jen?
Speaker 16 (40:53):
We have to clock out to use the bathroom.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
That's not cool.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
Yeah, no kidding.
Speaker 3 (40:59):
Unless you're taking like, you know, an hour and a
half in there.
Speaker 7 (41:02):
Someone must have. Someone must have.
Speaker 11 (41:05):
I mean, I get it, and they don't, like, you know,
their whole thing is, we're not taking you to the bathroom,
and we have two breaks, and I get that.
Speaker 20 (41:12):
Same here.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Peyton makes us have a hall pass before we can
use the bathroom.
Speaker 8 (41:15):
Yeah, well, because you guys literally go, like, every five minutes.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
Drinking a lot of water.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
I worked at the check hashing place in college and
we're in these cages. And I remember, you know, getting
paid hourly and I'd be like, I'm going to hang
out in here for a while.
Speaker 10 (41:31):
That's where that happens.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
All right, Jen.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
Thanks for calling in.
Speaker 18 (41:38):
No problem.
Speaker 9 (41:38):
Love you guys.
Speaker 11 (41:39):
Have a good day.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
All right. So we've got a thousand dollars. Pet Hickey's money.
Pet Hickey's the owner and the general manager of Peoria Ford.
And he gave us a thousand bucks to give away.
You got to get 10, 10 questions. Rich asked you
10 questions. You have to get them in a row
and you have to get them right. And then you
win a thousand bucks.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Lauren, good morning.
Speaker 15 (41:56):
Hi, good morning.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
What are you doing right now?
Speaker 19 (41:59):
I'm driving my partner to work.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
Oh, where does your partner work?
Speaker 15 (42:05):
She works for USAA.
Speaker 4 (42:06):
And then what are you doing after that?
Speaker 19 (42:09):
I'm going to go get my lashes done.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Oh, okay. She's going to spend her $ 1, 000 is what
she's going to do.
Speaker 18 (42:15):
So I need a couple extra bucks to afford my lashes.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
All right, let's go. All right, Lauren, let's lock it in.
60 seconds, 10 questions. Let's go. Whitney Houston's hit, I
Will Always Love You, was written by what late country
music legend?
Speaker 18 (42:37):
Dolly Parton.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
What 2023 biopic about the father of the atomic bomb
won the Oscar for best picture? Pass. Would you say pass?
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Pass.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
You can't pass.
Speaker 19 (42:52):
Oh, I can't.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
Then I lose.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
You just got to come up with the name of
the movie. It was huge.
Speaker 6 (43:03):
Okay.
Speaker 16 (43:03):
Can you say it again?
Speaker 3 (43:05):
What 2023 biopic about the father of the atomic bomb
won the Oscar for best picture?
Speaker 18 (43:16):
I really don't know.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Shout out the name of a movie because you might
be right.
Speaker 11 (43:23):
I'm not so bad at movies.
Speaker 6 (43:28):
Come on.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
Out of time.
Speaker 11 (43:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
Okay, so Lauren, let me ask you something. You said
you're taking your partner to work and she's with you
right now?
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
Does she know the answer?
Speaker 11 (43:43):
No, she's shaking her head no.
Speaker 9 (43:44):
Wow.
Speaker 17 (43:46):
I know, wow.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Looking for Oppenheimer is the name of the movie.
Speaker 17 (43:51):
I would have never said that in my life.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
Well, I guess you've got to pay for your own
lashes today. They're not on us today.
Speaker 4 (44:00):
All right, Lauren.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
I'm glad you played, though. Have fun dropping your partner off.
Thanks for listening.
Speaker 18 (44:04):
Good luck with the lashes.
Speaker 9 (44:06):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
By the way, I saw this thing that said that movies.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
like this year, this summer, or so far this year,
is the biggest box office draw for movies in the
history of movies.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
What? Yeah. Suspicious.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
Why?
Speaker 3 (44:20):
Well, because, you know, it's because things are expensive. What
they really should say is how many tickets got sold,
not how much money they're making, because I'm sure back
in the day, more people went to the movies.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
Well, and this is even before COVID, and this is
after COVID. So for what I heard was like, You
think about, and I was trying to think of the movie.
I was like, oh, Spider-Man and Odyssey. But then I
was like, oh wait, Obsession made a couple hundred, 500 million.
Then there was Toy Story 5. There was a lot
of big movies. What's the Rooms movie that was big too?
Oh yeah, Back Rooms. That's what I mean. So it's like,
it makes sense to me. It makes sense.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Spider-Man's still rocking it right now. That's a good point.
Speaker 10 (44:53):
But I also see Rich's point too. It's like, how
many tickets equal that $ 100 million? Because now the tickets
are like twice the price.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
But if you also go just from last year or
the year before till now to go from, I'm making
the numbers up, I don't know what it is, to
go from, you know, 2 billion people, 2 billion tickets
sold or dollars worth for, I think it was $ 5
billion so far this year.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
That's big.
Speaker 6 (45:15):
That is big.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
That means people are going to the movies. Whereas before
it was like people, they were saying the movies are dead.
People are going to the movies, you know?
Speaker 3 (45:21):
Yeah, if you make movies worth seeing, we'll go to
the movies. Yeah, and Peyton, you just saw Obsession, right?
Speaker 6 (45:26):
I did.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
I kind of wanted to see it because I heard
it was like really good, but also really scary. So
I didn't want to see it. So you're the first
person I've talked to that's seen it.
Speaker 8 (45:35):
Yeah, I watched it on the airplane actually. And it
was good. I went into it with low expectations because
everyone had hyped this movie up so much. The girl
who plays the main character, she does a fantastic job.
And it's definitely one of those movies where it's like, okay,
Who's in the wrong here? It's like you have this
(45:56):
girl who's obsessed, but there's a reason that she's obsessed.
And it's because of her male friend. And he does
this whole little like spell almost on her. And then
everything else transpires. So by the end of the movie,
you're like at the end of the day, who's really wrong?
I didn't find it scary.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
Like, the actress you're talking about, she's, like, getting all
kinds of roles now.
Speaker 8 (46:16):
She's, like, in talks for, like, I think an Oscar
nomination for Obsession.
Speaker 4 (46:20):
Like, the next movie, like, I think they tried to
get her in the MCU.
Speaker 6 (46:24):
Oh, really?
Speaker 8 (46:24):
Yeah. That would be awesome.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (46:26):
And she's like totally taking off. And I guess I
came across a video of her when she applied for
whatever role it was. She didn't send in a headshot.
She sent in like a bunch of candid photos. And
then basically they're like, she sticks out. She's kind of
odd looking in the picture.
Speaker 4 (46:42):
Her name, if you told me her name.
Speaker 8 (46:44):
Indy Navarette.
Speaker 3 (46:44):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (46:45):
That's it. She's getting, there's a lot of hype behind her.
I don't know how you found us.
Speaker 14 (46:50):
But I'm so thankful that you did. It's John Jay
and Rich.
Speaker 4 (46:54):
Hey, Jeff, what's up, man? You're on the air.
Speaker 5 (46:57):
Hey, so I called in last week. I was talking
about Lanterns with you guys.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (47:01):
And you told me to watch the Ray Gunn documentary
on Netflix. Yeah. Fantastic. It was amazing. Right. I did
not realize that that culture was. as weird as it
is but it's great yeah is.
Speaker 4 (47:15):
It still in the olympics or are they taking out
i feel like they took it out they took us
you know maybe because of that yeah it's no longer
gonna be olympics.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
Like we don't need to embarrass but they kept curling in.
Speaker 4 (47:24):
All right hey jeff let me bounce a couple other
tv shows off you did you watch on netflix the
whole donald trump uh taking the president sneaking him out
of the airplane it's like number two on netflix I
have not.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
I heard you guys talking about it this morning, and
I'm going to have to watch it now since it's
only like a 28-minute documentary.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
Let's do it. Let's go. It's really good. Okay, did
you watch the most recent, the whole Monsters of God?
Speaker 5 (47:45):
Yes, that is like, I'm so glad that they Tiger
King lizards for that. It just makes me so happy.
Speaker 4 (47:53):
If you guys, it's so it's five episodes. The most
recent episode came out Sunday. I watched it yesterday and
what I, it's so fascinating about this reptile drug smuggling
ring and they're going after this guy, Anson Wong, right.
And they're building up to it. And it's so interesting
how I'm not, I mean, I'm not ruining it. It's
a documentary, but they, They get him. And the way
they get him is unbelievable. And they actually get him
(48:16):
on the documentary to talk about what happened.
Speaker 7 (48:18):
Oh, I was wondering if he was going to be on.
I just started that episode.
Speaker 4 (48:21):
He's on.
Speaker 5 (48:22):
Oh, no, no, he is.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
And then the last episode, it takes place here.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Oh, really?
Speaker 4 (48:28):
There's one of the guys that's talking throughout the documentary,
and you find out at the end that he has still,
and he lives here, he's got stuff here.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
Like dragons and.
Speaker 4 (48:38):
things and it's really loony yeah it's it's really and
then there's a one guy who helped catch ensign long
he's from here it's.
Speaker 5 (48:47):
Like it all yeah no it's it's crazy that.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
Show goes so sideways so fast i think i'm only
on episode three or four but they're getting into the
drugs being brought in along with it and all the
millions of pounds of cocaine that they're smuggling underneath snakes
in a bag it's just ridiculous.
Speaker 10 (49:05):
This documentary has me like nervous in a weird way
because my bonus daughter she actually works at the herpetological
center and like before this documentary I'm like maybe she'll
meet a nice guy at work and I'm like.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
Don't date anyone in that.
Speaker 3 (49:18):
Industry laughing And you know what?
Speaker 5 (49:20):
No one in the industry.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
That guy, Anson Wong, the main guy that did it,
he got prison time. He's out and he's like, I
came back stronger than before. And now he can't, he's
banned from the United States and he's in Malaysia and
he is smuggling things like crazy. And it's the big,
the business is bigger than it's ever been before. It's
like a $ 9 billion business. So that's on HBO max.
(49:42):
I recommend that. And then the, the new lanterns is
pretty kick-ass too. Did you see that Jeff?
Speaker 5 (49:46):
I haven't had a chance yet because of my work schedule.
And so I'm going to get into it, but the third,
but Oh, episode three was so good. I can't wait
to watch episode four. I'm actually going to probably get
ready to do that before I go to bed because
I just got off work.
Speaker 4 (50:02):
Well, today, there's a lot of TV today now. Today
drops the new Reacher. Are you guys up to date
on Jack Reacher?
Speaker 7 (50:08):
Yes, but not the newest episode.
Speaker 4 (50:10):
The episode, not the one that came out today, but
last week's episode, I don't know how he's going to survive.
Speaker 9 (50:15):
I know.
Speaker 7 (50:15):
He literally is like, we're about to die.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
It should start off today where he's dead because there's
no way this guy can survive.
Speaker 7 (50:24):
And Jack Reacher.
Speaker 10 (50:24):
Always gets himself into these situations where he's dead. about
to die or he's about to get busted and then
somehow finds his way out and this is the first
time i've ever heard him say we're gonna.
Speaker 4 (50:34):
Die in 30 minutes we are gonna be dead and
then they cut to 30 minutes and something happens and
it's like well yeah i guess that's it but i'm
gonna watch the first five minutes of the episode just
during that during the next song we play okay good
idea just to make sure he's okay and then there's
a new ted lasso that drops today too and by
the way tennis last night if anyone watched tennis last
night carlos alcarez lost to ben shelton It was a late,
late night tennis. I went to bed at eight and
(50:55):
my wife was like, I'm going to stay up and
watch this.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
And so I, it didn't start till 11.
Speaker 9 (50:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (51:00):
Four hours. They didn't stop. I think the time literally
stopped at three 33.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
They've been playing.
Speaker 4 (51:05):
Those two played tennis together against each other. I'm going
to say like 15 times and Carlos Alcaraz has beat
him every time.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
So it was really big.
Speaker 8 (51:13):
Did you see him like throwing up into his towel?
Speaker 4 (51:15):
Because he lost?
Speaker 8 (51:16):
No, because he was like just giving it his all.
Like Ben Shelton was giving him a run for his money.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
All right, Jeff.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
Have a great day, darling. Call in anytime you want
to talk TV. I love talking TV.
Speaker 5 (51:28):
Of course, man.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
Thanks, man.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Chelsea, you want to talk TV? What do you got, Chelsea?
Speaker 15 (51:33):
Yeah, so I wanted to see if anybody's been caught
up on The Lioness.
Speaker 14 (51:37):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5 (51:37):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
And we're on TV.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 3 (51:40):
That's my favorite show.
Speaker 11 (51:41):
So good.
Speaker 15 (51:42):
Yes, mine, too. And I love how they've implemented the
war between Russia and Ukraine. And, you know, because it
kind of makes you think like, what's the conspiracy really
behind all of this? And where are they getting their information?
Speaker 14 (51:53):
I mean.
Speaker 15 (51:54):
Anyway, the episode is crazy. The last episode, episode six
was just hard to watch because you want her to
be found this whole time, but no spoiler alerts. But yeah,
I just want to see where everybody's at on the
episode and what they think.
Speaker 4 (52:06):
Okay. So you say no spoiler alert, but let me
tell you, there's a girl, Zoe Saldana, she's been kidnapped
by the Iranians and the Russians and they're torturing her
little by little.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
Right.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
And I was, had so much anticipation for this episode
because I didn't know, because it's brutal, the torture stuff
they show her, right? In fact, the scene where the
guy tells her what he's going to do to her
is so disturbing. She starts crying.
Speaker 3 (52:27):
It's so disturbing.
Speaker 4 (52:29):
So before that episode dropped, I follow her on Instagram,
and she holds up a fake foot.
Speaker 13 (52:35):
Yeah, with a toe cut off.
Speaker 4 (52:37):
With a toe cut off. And I'm like, what? Oh,
my God, they must cut off her toe. Sure enough,
the guy takes a knife and snaps her toe. And
there's blood and she starts screaming. I'm like, no wonder
she won an Academy Award because when I'm watching it,
I believe her toga.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
That show, it's almost like I feel like you're watching
something you're not supposed to be watching. Like they're giving
us information about how stuff really works and espionage that
you should not know. And I got to believe there's
some truth to it.
Speaker 9 (53:05):
Totally.
Speaker 8 (53:05):
I feel like there's some things in TV that like
you just can't.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
Make that stuff up. They just did it. They just
gave you the, well, that's what they say. They say,
if you want to share a truth, do it through art.
Speaker 5 (53:14):
Right.
Speaker 6 (53:14):
Right.
Speaker 3 (53:15):
So I wonder how much of that is legit. Sounds
like a lot.
Speaker 4 (53:19):
I believe it, too. I believe all of it.
Speaker 3 (53:20):
Chelsea, thanks for calling in. Thank you for listening.
Speaker 7 (53:22):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 2 (53:23):
Bye.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
Have a great day.
Speaker 9 (53:24):
Bye.
Speaker 3 (53:25):
John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 4 (53:26):
How to tell a couple has a truly happy marriage.
The website I go to every once in a while
is called yourtengo.com, and they did all this research on it.
So I have. This is how you can tell. I mean,
I'm just going to go over with you. Number one,
how to tell a couple has a truly happy marriage.
A cozy space for having deep conversations, right? The happiest
(53:51):
of couples love having deep talks with each other. about
all sorts of things. They may not always want to
do it intentionally, but they often have a space in
their home that becomes their designated space to sit down
and share the details of their work days or fill
each other in with gossip about family and friends. When
something goes wrong, they need to brainstorm through the problem
together and it's just one place in their house.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
Peyton, do you have that?
Speaker 8 (54:11):
I feel like that's just like our bedroom. That's just
pillow talk.
Speaker 4 (54:14):
It's interesting for you because you live with your grandmother
and your parents. Exactly.
Speaker 8 (54:18):
So we have no space to ourself, which is why
our bedroom is literally our safe space. So that's what
I would say.
Speaker 4 (54:24):
Do you have that, Kyle?
Speaker 10 (54:25):
I don't think there's like a designated spot. We'll find
ourselves in conversation in the kitchen, on the couch, wherever.
Speaker 3 (54:34):
Not where you have sex.
Speaker 7 (54:38):
No, John Jay.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
Not that.
Speaker 4 (54:40):
Photos of themselves and their families. Having framed photos on
display around your home can make us truly happy, especially
when they center around warm, nostalgic memories. These pictures are
reminders of the love we share with the people in
our lives, even when it's easy to get caught up
in everyday demands and obligations. The happiest couples are proud
of their relationship and probably talk a lot about it,
but they also broadcast happy memories of each other at home.
(55:04):
They're proud to love out loud, even if it's just
the two of them. So that's important.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 4 (55:09):
Photos of themselves and their family. A shared calendar. Instead
of being completely on different pages or even worse, being
secretive about where they're spending their time, happy couples often
share calendars. A calendar may seem purely logistical, but it's
very important to a marriage to have shared calendars.
Speaker 8 (55:25):
Yes, 100%. I will say that is one thing as
like a newlywed that Kadeem and I implemented right after
we got married. And it's like, it takes away any
of the extra stress. Like, you know what I mean?
It's like, if I don't know where you're at, I'm
just going to check the calendar. I know where you're at.
Just check the calendar.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
Hold on a second.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
Hey, Floor, what's up? You're on the air.
Speaker 7 (55:44):
Buenos dias, guys.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
Buenos dias.
Speaker 15 (55:47):
We're listening to you guys.
Speaker 11 (55:48):
We're just pumped and ready to win these Disney tickets.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
Okay, well, that's coming up in about two and a
half minutes, three minutes. You got to keep listening.
Speaker 6 (55:57):
We will.
Speaker 4 (55:57):
All right. Thanks, Laura. Have a great day. Yeah, you
just got to know the magic words and That's coming
up just a little bit. All right, these are the
signs of a happy couple. Equipment or supplies for a
shared hobby. Lots of people like to say opposites attract,
and sometimes that's true. But it's far more common for
successful couples to share the same interests and hobbies than
for them not to. If you visit a couple's house
(56:18):
and you see there's mountain bikes parked on the side
or hiking shoes placed waiting for their next adventure, that's
a good sign you're in the presence of a happy couple.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
That's cool. Separate spaces. I think this is very important.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
While it might sound counterintuitive in a close relationship, having
space for yourself at home can actually deepen your connection.
If you feel like your entire life and sense of
self revolve around your relationship, the relationship itself sometimes becomes
a point of anxiety rather than a safe space. Some
of the healthiest couples have their own space. Yeah, I
got a whole basement.
Speaker 8 (56:47):
Your man cave.
Speaker 3 (56:49):
It's an underground man cave.
Speaker 4 (56:52):
A dedicated place for their phones when they're not being used.
Too much screen time and distraction notifications from your phones
can slowly chip away at the relationship over time. Yeah,
that's a big deal. Sometimes I'll be like, if my wife,
if I'm talking to her and she's on her phone,
I just stop talking. And I'll just wait for you
to put your phone down because I've already learned.
Speaker 3 (57:10):
Do you make the noise, the John Jay noise?
Speaker 4 (57:12):
No, I've already learned that we'll have a conversation if
she's on her phone, whatever I'm saying doesn't. Makes sense.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
It's not connecting.
Speaker 4 (57:19):
Making plans to whatever it is. You know, even if
it's something that just happened five minutes ago, she doesn't
get it. Decorative touches that blend each of their personal styles.
When you share a home with someone, you also have
to share the vibe. So it's ideal to make it safe,
enjoyable space for both people, right? That means letting their
partner take the reins and make some decorating decisions. which
is not in my home. I have no say.
Speaker 3 (57:40):
That's probably a good idea.
Speaker 8 (57:41):
You do too have a say. We literally went with
you couch shopping.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
You had to pick out the couch. She had to
approve the couch. This is true.
Speaker 4 (57:47):
That is true.
Speaker 3 (57:48):
But I like, she took down all my Star Wars posters.
Speaker 10 (57:50):
Yeah, I'm like, Scott can do whatever he wants in
the garage.
Speaker 3 (57:55):
Our magic words.
Speaker 4 (57:57):
Magic Words for Disney Tickets is back. We're minutes away
from your next shot at a four-pack of two-day, one-park-per-day passes.
Get those magic words ready because we're going to need
three of them after Bruno Mars.
Speaker 3 (58:07):
John Jay and Rich. We are like a whole vibe.
Speaker 4 (58:11):
We need Caller 104. Caller 104 at 877-937-1047. The magic
is back here at Kiss. You get free tickets to
the Disneyland Resort. All you need is the magic words.
So every hour, but five minutes after the hour, like
at 10.05, 11.05, 12.05, we give you a Disney magic word.
(58:33):
You collect as many magic words as you can. You
collect them like Disney cards, like Disney characters. You collect
these magic words. Then every day at 8, we're going
to ask you to be caller 104. And if you
give us at least three magic words, you win free
Disney tickets. Four two-day, one part-per-day passes. And you qualify
for the grand prize. a Disney vacation for three-day, one-park-per-day
(58:56):
passes and hotel at the Disneyland Resort. So we're looking
for color 104 right now. What are you at right now?
Do you have a mic up in there so we
can hear her? I can't hear you now.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
Color?
Speaker 4 (59:10):
42 okay okay so nick and his family were just
at disneyland And something magical happened. I mean, several magical
things happened, but this is really different. You never know
what's going to happen to you at Disneyland, right? Yeah,
it's really weird.
Speaker 14 (59:25):
And you talk about like the magical moments that people
can have at Disneyland. And we've had some in the past,
but this last one, we took our kids and they
were so good all day. And like we opened the park.
And we're closing the park. That was the plan. And
they're six and four years old. And as throughout the day,
(59:47):
we're like, if you guys keep this up, we're going
to let you get two toys at the end of
the day. We're going to let you get two toys.
So we come around. We're going to the stores at
the end of the day. And then the fireworks display
is starting. And so, you know, like their crowds are
going crazy. And we make a right turn into the
store and it's closed. Like, oh, that's weird. So they
keep going down, keep going down the aisle, keep going
(01:00:08):
down the road, street. Turns out all the stores on
Main Street were closed. Every single one of them. Somebody
tried to like steal like a high end item and
they went into lockdown mode.
Speaker 7 (01:00:19):
So all of all of.
Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
The stores are closed. My kids are not normally closed.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
So my kids are so good.
Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
We're supposed to get kids toys.
Speaker 14 (01:00:26):
And so they're like, you know, they're not throwing fits,
but they're upset. And my wife takes him into like
the hat store was the only place that was still open.
And we go in and you could tell they're bummed.
And a cast member came up and was like, did
you guys get to meet any friends today? And they're like, well, yeah.
(01:00:46):
She's like, come with me. And around the corner, I'm
getting goosebumps just talking about it. was Mickey and Pluto
by themselves. My son had just been waiting for Pluto
all day. He was like, like we had a full
like 15 minutes to just take pictures. They got to
pet Pluto and play with them. And it was like
(01:01:07):
the most beautiful thing. I'll throw up a couple of photos.
Cause yeah, it was, it was, did you cry?
Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
I would have cried. Uh, it was, it was a
tear jerking moment.
Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
I had to leave. I had to leave because I
was just like, Oh my God, this.
Speaker 8 (01:01:19):
Is just beautiful.
Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
You know, if you could put up photos, that'd be
fantastic on our stories. Cause I love this.
Speaker 14 (01:01:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Especially that there was no line. I mean, because I mean,
it was VIP and it was literally, they were just
pulling you aside because those cast members are so good.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
They're so special. And it's like, it's the end of
the day. It's like almost 11 o'clock at night.
Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
And like, what is Mickey should.
Speaker 14 (01:01:40):
Be in bed by then. But no, he's there just
making dreams come true.
Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
All right, so Dylan, where are we?
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
What number are.
Speaker 6 (01:01:48):
You at?
Speaker 17 (01:01:48):
Caller 100.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
Oh, okay, caller 100. All right, we're looking for caller 104.
And then we just need three magic words, thrice magic words.
Speaker 7 (01:02:00):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Say that again.
Speaker 16 (01:02:05):
Caller 104 is on line 20.
Speaker 14 (01:02:07):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
Sometimes, like, you guys talk on the microphone, and sometimes
you guys talk on the walkie-talkie. Like, I don't know
what you guys are doing. It's like, why is it
so complicated? Okay. All right, guys. Now, listen. I'm going
to tell you guys, Rich, Kyle, Peyton, and me. They
might post this on our videos later, so look in
the cameras and smile and be excited. Okay. Ready?
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Here we go. We're looking for color 104. Hello.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
Good morning. John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
Who's this? Kiss FM.
Speaker 8 (01:02:34):
Hello.
Speaker 9 (01:02:37):
Hello?
Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
Hello, who's this?
Speaker 12 (01:02:40):
Oh my God, hi, my name is Anisha.
Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
Anisha, you're caller 104.
Speaker 10 (01:02:44):
Oh my God, stop, you're like.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
No, for real, you are.
Speaker 11 (01:02:50):
Oh my gosh, I'm shaking. Okay, yay.
Speaker 18 (01:02:53):
Oh my God, thank.
Speaker 12 (01:02:54):
God, okay.
Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
Okay, so we need from you three of the magic words. Three,
and you get free Disneyland tickets.
Speaker 6 (01:03:05):
Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:03:08):
Goblin. Goblin.
Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
Glistening.
Speaker 12 (01:03:16):
And bats.
Speaker 8 (01:03:17):
Yeah!
Speaker 7 (01:03:19):
Woo-hoo!
Speaker 8 (01:03:22):
You're going to Disneyland!
Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
I'm going to cry.
Speaker 11 (01:03:25):
I've never won anything.
Speaker 12 (01:03:28):
Oh, awesome.
Speaker 11 (01:03:30):
Oh, I'm trying not to wake up my baby.
Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 21 (01:03:32):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 8 (01:03:33):
You're welcome.
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
Congratulations.
Speaker 9 (01:03:36):
I listen to you guys all the time.
Speaker 6 (01:03:40):
Try not to cry. So exciting.
Speaker 12 (01:03:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Why are you trying not to cry?
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
Cry. It's good. It's healthy to cry. Plus, you just
got a bunch of free Disney tickets.
Speaker 18 (01:03:49):
I'm an ugly crier.
Speaker 9 (01:03:50):
I'll cry when I hang up.
Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
Well, you just won four two-day, one park-per-day passes, and
you qualify for the grand prize at Disney Vacation, which
is three-day, one park-per-day passes, and a hotel at Disneyland Resort. Anissa, congratulations.
Speaker 11 (01:04:06):
Oh, my God, thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
You got it. Thanks for listening. Hold on, let me
get your information. That's so great. I love when people
like that win. She's so happy.
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
She's sweet.
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
She's so happy. Okay, hold on.
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
I'm mugging for the camera real quick.
Speaker 4 (01:04:19):
Congratulations, Anissa. Oh, my God.
Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
Way to go.
Speaker 4 (01:04:25):
We have another magic word coming up this morning at 10.05, 11.05,
and five minutes after the hour, every hour after that. Well,
yesterday there was like an email going, did you guys
get video of the winner? And I was like, oh no.
And I was probably like, when I looked at the video,
(01:04:45):
I was like reading everything. So now I'm looking into
the camera. So it looks like I'm actively parenting.
Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
You're doing a great job.
Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
Congratulations.
Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
John Jay and Rich. All right, it's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
Kyle Payton, what do you guys got for entertainment news?
Speaker 10 (01:05:00):
Almost 30 years later, we are just finding out there
was a sixth Spice Girl.
Speaker 7 (01:05:05):
Kind of. So Baby Spice.
Speaker 10 (01:05:08):
And Ginger Spice reunited to finally introduce us to the
long-lost sixth Spice Girl.
Speaker 7 (01:05:15):
It's actually Rachel Dratch. It's actually a commercial for Dunkin',
and it's genius. The secret to our group was that
everyone had their own flavor. Ginger had red hair. And
Baby was the youngest.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
And a lot of.
Speaker 7 (01:05:25):
People don't know, but we originally had a sixth member.
Speaker 8 (01:05:29):
Pumpkin Spice. I like pumpkin. She had so many amazing tracks.
Speaker 7 (01:05:34):
A little bit sweet, a little bit nice.
Speaker 10 (01:05:37):
You want to taste my pumpkin spice.
Speaker 8 (01:05:39):
I'm self-taught.
Speaker 7 (01:05:43):
I feel like that pumpkin spice should have been a part.
Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
Of the spice crazy. All this time.
Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
Did you see, by the way, Mel B, who is
Sporty Spice? No, not Mel B, but whoever was... Yeah,
Sporty Spice. It was a video just of her two
days ago. And she was somewhere like New York and
a woman's walking by with a Spice Girls t-shirt on
and walks right by her. And she's like, she must
not be.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
A big fan. Not head on a swivel like you're
supposed to have. She's not noticing anything around her.
Speaker 8 (01:06:12):
Lori Loughlin, she has officially filed divorce from her husband
of nearly 30 years, Massimo Giannulli. And basically they are
blaming their differences. They just cannot get on the same page.
This comes months after they separated and listed their L.A.
mansion on the market last year. So this is all
after the public scrutiny from those college admissions scandals. So
(01:06:35):
they did sign a prenup, so they're not going to
have any issues. It's not going to be like a
messy divorce when it comes to that in their financials,
but they are definitely putting an official close to their marriage.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
He's like a billionaire. He's a billionaire?
Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Oh, yeah. But don't they, they signed a prenup, but
they've been married for 25 years. Don't you still split
what you made after?
Speaker 10 (01:06:54):
I think she's just saying it's not messy because whatever
will be split has already been decided.
Speaker 7 (01:07:01):
So it's already written out.
Speaker 3 (01:07:02):
That dude had the best t-shirts at Target.
Speaker 8 (01:07:06):
That's random.
Speaker 7 (01:07:06):
There's a brand.
Speaker 9 (01:07:07):
Mossimo.
Speaker 7 (01:07:08):
You ever heard of Mossimo?
Speaker 12 (01:07:08):
No.
Speaker 8 (01:07:09):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:07:09):
They still have it. I told you. But it used
to be so much better.
Speaker 7 (01:07:13):
That's funny.
Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:07:14):
I don't know if you guys saw this yesterday, but
I was kind of shocked. And there were some reports
coming out that Jimmy Kimmel, he is going to wrap
up his 24-year run. It's going to end May of 2027.
And I was shocked because I saw on Instagram he
was posting that he was celebrating his 4,000th. show coming
out so he hasn't confirmed anything a rep from abc
came out and basically was like this is purely like
(01:07:35):
speculative this isn't official but i do.
Speaker 10 (01:07:37):
Think that i think it started leaking because like they
haven't renewed his contract yet and that's like i think
normally when it happens but maybe they're arguing what the
terms are.
Speaker 8 (01:07:46):
Going to be or who knows and he's talked about
you know putting it up putting it up for wraps
pretty soon too so who knows we'll find that out
in the.
Speaker 10 (01:07:53):
We got big, exciting news, and they shared it with us.
Sierra and Russell Wilson shared the moment they told their
four kids, there's another baby coming.
Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
What happened to the baby?
Speaker 5 (01:08:06):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 4 (01:08:08):
They still are.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Dad, chill out. Dad's a horndog.
Speaker 8 (01:08:12):
I'm like, what if it's here that can't get off
of Russell? Because she has spoken out how much she
loves that man.
Speaker 4 (01:08:18):
Yeah, but he was like a virgin until they got married.
He was very, so I think he's like, kind of
like Tim Tebow. I was missing this.
Speaker 10 (01:08:28):
Listen, they are enjoying married life together. They like expanding
their family. And we just say congratulations to them. They
haven't shared whether it's a boy or a girl just yet.
Speaker 7 (01:08:38):
But when it comes to girls, girls rule the world.
Speaker 10 (01:08:41):
Sherri Shepherd is about to become the first woman ever
to play the genie in Broadway's Aladdin.
Speaker 8 (01:08:46):
I'm very excited because now I get to be the
genie and give that same joy that all of the
genies gave me. I cannot wait.
Speaker 19 (01:08:56):
I've been practicing this.
Speaker 8 (01:08:58):
Broadway is dreams come true.
Speaker 17 (01:09:00):
True especially now that I'm playing the genie I'm not
going anywhere wait.
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
That's all the Disney songs from Aladdin that's all of
them no but I mean but like that's that's that
version You know, one step ahead of the bread line.
They're doing all those songs. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:09:17):
Broadway for 12 years.
Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
I guess I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:09:21):
She takes over October 16th for a limited run through
January 3rd.
Speaker 7 (01:09:25):
And yeah, I think. I think it's going to be— I mean,
it's groundbreaking.
Speaker 8 (01:09:27):
She's going to be awesome. Robert Pattinson, he has a
new thriller that's coming out on September 25th. It's called Primetime,
and it is sitting at a flawless 100% on Rotten
Tomatoes right now. So he plays, like, an intense early
2000s TV investigative journalist, like, tracking some underground crime. So, like,
reports are saying this is, like, master class career best
(01:09:48):
from him, which I'm like, he had a phenomenal job
in The Odyssey, so I'm really excited to see this
one in theaters. Again, that comes out in just a
couple weeks on September 25th. Chris Rock, he is like
low-key begging DreamWorks to make a Madagascar 4 because he
said all of his Madagascar money went to his divorce.
He's like, Hollywood is obsessed with sequels. Ice Age got
(01:10:10):
five movies. Bring back Marty the Zebra. We want to
see it. We want the penguins. We want it all.
Speaker 7 (01:10:14):
And I am on board for this. I think everyone
would be.
Speaker 15 (01:10:17):
Why not?
Speaker 10 (01:10:18):
I mean, if they've got a great storyline, all those
characters are so lovable.
Speaker 8 (01:10:22):
I'm in.
Speaker 10 (01:10:23):
I support you, Chris Rock, and your financial troubles. Entourage
fans are going to love a new commercial. That's right,
a commercial because Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier are basically
playing Ari and Vince again for the first time in years. Now,
it's sad that it's not for an Entourage reboot, but
it is an ad for a.
Speaker 7 (01:10:40):
New app called Better.
Speaker 10 (01:10:42):
And it basically shows Ari chasing Vince to give him
his next big gig. And he presents a movie and
Ari was like, he's like, no, I want to do
something better.
Speaker 8 (01:10:51):
I want something better.
Speaker 4 (01:10:52):
Better, better.
Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
We got something better.
Speaker 7 (01:10:54):
I just heard that they're looking for a new face
for the Better app.
Speaker 8 (01:10:59):
And you're the prettiest face I know. Let's do it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
All right, let's do it. I got you two superstar
faces for your superstar app. We're in, baby.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
So I'm like, what?
Speaker 7 (01:11:09):
I mean, that had to be big bucks for this app.
Like what even is this app?
Speaker 10 (01:11:14):
And apparently it's the world's first real money gaming super app.
So I looked it up and you can bet on
literally anything. So obviously football games, but then they, I
think the thing that makes it a little different than
all the other betting apps is it's also like arcade games. Like,
you know, the casino games that are on your phone,
but you're playing like for real money.
Speaker 7 (01:11:34):
Like casino games for real money.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
That seems dangerous.
Speaker 7 (01:11:38):
I know.
Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
What commercial I read about and heard that I got
very excited about that I was waiting for for the
longest time, a collab. Do you have it? Do you
know what I'm talking about? Am I breaking the news here?
Speaker 8 (01:11:50):
Affleck.
Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
Oh, I saw it. Ben Affleck is doing a commercial
with Affleck. I saw it. They played it during the
Notre Dame game. Yeah, I saw it. It was great.
Speaker 5 (01:11:58):
I got so happy.
Speaker 3 (01:11:59):
I was like, finally!
Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
That's like a no-brainer. It's like they called Ben Affleck
last week. Hey, we want to do a commercial with
Affleck Insurance. What's that? Like you haven't heard?
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (01:12:11):
What, are you even living under a rock?
Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
Yeah, unbelievable.
Speaker 10 (01:12:15):
Okay, so really quickly, I love this because this is
a throwback couple that now we're getting a little inside
scoop on. So Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt, they met
on the set of Seven, right? And then dated shortly after,
but she says it was instant.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
I met him on set and like we had like
kind of a love at first sight thing.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
It was pretty awesome.
Speaker 7 (01:12:35):
It was really fun.
Speaker 10 (01:12:36):
Were you like, oh, he's like an older Hollywood boy?
Speaker 14 (01:12:38):
No, because he was so beautiful and he was, I
think he was 31 and I was 22.
Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
So it wasn't, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (01:12:46):
He's hot.
Speaker 7 (01:12:46):
They did end up getting engaged, but then it didn't
work out and whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
And there was a scandal.
Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
The scandal was they were on the balcony naked doing it. Oh, yeah.
And people took pictures of them doing it. You could
see it's junk. You could see everything. And they put
it in a magazine. I can't remember what magazine. Yeah,
they put it in a Playgirl.
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
It was like, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
It was Playgirl. Yeah, it was wild. I remember telling
Kyle this story about five years ago when she Googled
the pictures and you could find it. Do you remember that?
Speaker 9 (01:13:09):
No.
Speaker 4 (01:13:10):
It's John Jay and Rich. All right, we got tickets
to Chance the Rapper. We're going to play our classic
John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
Remember the times. Dulce, good morning.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
Dulce.
Speaker 21 (01:13:25):
Hello.
Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
Hi, good morning.
Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
Hold on, Dulce, real quick. That was Zara Larson.
Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
She's going to be at our iHeartRadio Music Festival along
with BTS, Benson Boone, Cardi B, Major Lazer Soup Doll,
Goo Goo Dolls. And it's almost sold. Friday night's sold out.
Tickets for Saturday are available and going fast now, so
go to AXS.com.
Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
Okay, Dulce, you are playing for Chance the Rapper tickets.
Speaker 9 (01:13:45):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Let's do it. Okay, it's Remember the Time. It's all
kinds of stuff. It's pop culture, movies, music, TV shows.
They've all been mushified into a montage. All you have
to do, Dulce, is tell us what year it all happened.
Players ready? Let's remember the time.
Speaker 8 (01:14:04):
They are contaminated.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Put those apes down.
Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
You have no idea what you're dealing.
Speaker 12 (01:14:17):
With I've been asked many times during this farewell season,
is ending the show bittersweet? Well, I say all sweet,
no bitter.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
Some are saying that you're bipolar. Wow, what does that mean?
Speaker 20 (01:14:38):
I guess that, you know, you're on two ends of
the spectrum.
Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
Wow, and then what? What's the cure? Medicine? Make me
like them? Not gonna happen. I'm bi-winning.
Speaker 8 (01:14:53):
Everybody looking forward to the weekend. So Rebecca Black in there?
Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
A couple of little bonus clues for you. It is
also the launch this year of Snapchat and the Royal
Wedding with Kate and William. So, Dolce, you go first.
What did you hear? What did you recognize? What year
do you think that all happened?
Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
Did you say 2027? It's happening next year. Sorry. We
haven't done one of those. Remember the futures yet.
Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
I know, right?
Speaker 4 (01:15:38):
I know.
Speaker 17 (01:15:40):
I'm going to say 2019.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
Say that again.
Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
2019?
Speaker 16 (01:15:48):
2019.
Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:15:50):
John Jay, your move. What did you hear? What did
you recognize?
Speaker 4 (01:15:52):
Dude, I heard so much.
Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
There's a lot in that one.
Speaker 4 (01:15:55):
I feel like I heard a clip from almost every
year of the decade. It sounded like it was all
over the place. In fact, so you had the Game
of Thrones theme playing in there on purpose, right? It
wasn't part of Oprah's. No. Because there was Oprah's Farewell thing.
There was Planet of the Apes. But there are so
many different versions of Planet of the Apes. I don't
know which one that was. And, of course, Born This Way.
So I remember Gaga's thing came out in 2009. It
(01:16:16):
was a big, but that wasn't Born This Way. Born
This Way came out after that. God, that's such a
good montage. It's very, very difficult. 2019. God.
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
Snapchat, though. That's what takes me way later in the decade.
So I'll go 20. I'm going to go 2018.
Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
2018. 2018. 2017.
Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Whoa, 2017.
Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
2017.
Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
Okay, so Dolce says 19. John Jay says 2017. Kyle,
it is your move.
Speaker 10 (01:16:46):
Okay, there was Tiger's Blood winning, which makes me feel
like it's later than my original guess. Gaga, Born This Way,
I thought was 2010-ish. And then you said The Royal Wedding.
And I remember one of my friends who had gotten
married the year or two before watched The Royal Wedding
in her wedding dress.
Speaker 2 (01:17:06):
Yes.
Speaker 10 (01:17:07):
And so that leads me to believe that it was, again,
around 2010. So since there are a couple of the
other clues that make me feel like it's later, like
Rebecca Black Friday, that makes me feel like it's later.
Speaker 7 (01:17:19):
But the other ones make me feel like it's there.
So I'm just going with the gut and saying 2010.
Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:17:22):
2010 says Kyle.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
Obviously a tricky montage, Peyton.
Speaker 6 (01:17:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
It all happened the same year, though, I promise.
Speaker 8 (01:17:29):
I had Planet of the Apes, Born This Way. That
sounded like Split, that movie Split, with the, I don't know.
And then Rebecca Black Friday, which is what put me
to my 13th birthday party. Because I remember last Friday
night was out at the same time, Katy Perry, which
puts me like 2009, 2010, 2011. So since Kyle is 2010,
I'm going to go 2011.
Speaker 10 (01:17:55):
Because I think that's seventh grade middle school for me.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
So we do have a winner amongst you four. So
the Royal Wedding, William and Kate, the launch of Snapchat,
Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Born This Way,
Lady Gaga, Oprah's Last Show, Game of Thrones, Charlie Sheen, Freakin' Out,
Rebecca Black's Friday. For the second time in a row,
your winner is Peyton with 2011.
Speaker 7 (01:18:17):
Good job.
Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
Middle school match, baby.
Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
Snapchat's been around that long?
Speaker 9 (01:18:23):
It sure has.
Speaker 4 (01:18:24):
Oprah quit that long ago?
Speaker 5 (01:18:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
It's been, you know, almost 15 years, what, since Oprah quit?
Is that right? Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:18:32):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (01:18:32):
That was a tough one, Rich. That was good. That
brought back some good memories. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
Dulce, you still get the tickets?
Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
All right, so hold on.
Speaker 5 (01:18:42):
That's crazy.
Speaker 21 (01:18:42):
I graduated in 2011.
Speaker 5 (01:18:44):
Where'd you go to school?
Speaker 11 (01:18:48):
It's a charter school.
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
What's it called?
Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
Precision.
Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
What was their mascot?
Speaker 21 (01:18:53):
Honestly, even that one.
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
It was so small. The Precision Prison Inmates.
Speaker 21 (01:19:04):
I graduated with six people, yo.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
You graduated with six people?
Speaker 8 (01:19:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
I hope you're a valedictorian because if not, you know.
Speaker 11 (01:19:12):
No, the valedictorian didn't show up.
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
I'm too smart for this place.
Speaker 4 (01:19:19):
I do say, hold on. You got to go see
Chance the Rapper. That charter school paid off. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:25):
Hold on.
Speaker 4 (01:19:26):
Speaking of Oprah, do you know that Oprah Winfrey in
1972 won a beauty pageant? She won Miss Black Tennessee.
Speaker 8 (01:19:33):
Oh, that's cool.
Speaker 7 (01:19:34):
I did not know that.
Speaker 8 (01:19:35):
I didn't know she was. Was she from Tennessee?
Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
She became the first black female anchor on Nashville News
Station the next year.
Speaker 9 (01:19:42):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 8 (01:19:42):
Yeah, she's a boss.
Speaker 4 (01:19:44):
Michelle Pfeiffer won Miss Orange County in California in 1978.
Sharon Stone won Miss Crawford County in Pennsylvania. Halle Berry
won Miss Teen All-American in 1985. Vanessa Williams was Miss America,
the first black woman who won Miss America in 1984.
Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
She's awesome. And did you know that Priyanka Chopra Jones
was also?
Speaker 12 (01:20:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
Miss Universe, right? She was Miss India and Miss World
in 2000 when she was 18.
Speaker 7 (01:20:14):
And his ex-girlfriend was Miss Universe.
Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
No way.
Speaker 7 (01:20:18):
Nick Jonas?
Speaker 8 (01:20:19):
So he just gets all these.
Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
He likes the pageant winners.
Speaker 8 (01:20:22):
Beautiful draw, dropping nothing wrong with them women.
Speaker 4 (01:20:25):
And Rich, your wife does the Miss America pageant. Who
won the most recent one?
Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
Miss Texas. I forget what her name is, but she
just won this past weekend, yeah. Her name is now
Miss America, dude. That's right.
Speaker 4 (01:20:35):
Chocolate and Kyle, what do we need to know today?
Speaker 10 (01:20:39):
The Lindsey Clancy case somehow got even more complicated after
the mistrial because her attorney publicly asked President Trump to
pardon her, except the president can't pardon someone facing state
charges in Massachusetts. And he was interviewed afterwards and they
were like, I think you already know the law there.
So why announce publicly that you're asking the president that question?
(01:20:59):
And he was like, Well, what better way to get
the word out there?
Speaker 7 (01:21:02):
He's got good.
Speaker 10 (01:21:03):
Connections, so maybe he can talk to someone who can
make that choice. In the meantime, jurors are speaking out
about the 11-1 deadlock the foreperson claimed. The loan holdout
actually admitted he had reasonable doubt, but still wouldn't change
his vote.
Speaker 7 (01:21:19):
Lindsay hasn't been convicted. She hasn't been acquitted.
Speaker 10 (01:21:22):
Prosecutors can try her again, and the date they will
decide that is September 29th. Apple has its huge iPhone
event today. Everyone's like, Oh my gosh, after years of
watching Samsung and Google and all the other companies do
foldable phones, iPhone may actually have a foldable iPhone. Uh,
if they do end up releasing it today, uh, it
(01:21:44):
will be called apparently the iPhone duo. It will start around.
Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
$ 2, 000.
Speaker 7 (01:21:49):
Possibly with Apple pencil support.
Speaker 10 (01:21:52):
Um, This does happen to be CEO John Ternus' first
major product launch since taking over for Tim Cook. So
it's kind of like all eyes are on you, John.
The event starts at 10 o'clock our time. They're also
expecting the iPhone 18 Pro models, new Apple Watches, and
possibly some new AirPods.
Speaker 4 (01:22:08):
You know that guy, that CEO guy? He started working
for Apple like in 2002, 2003. And he was a
tech and he was making like $ 200, 000 a year. Then
he moved up and he was making like $ 500, 000 a year.
And now he's the CEO and he makes $ 26 million
a year.
Speaker 8 (01:22:22):
Sheesh. Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
Good career move. That's insane.
Speaker 8 (01:22:25):
I want to know if the new, like if this
new iPhone flip or whatever is a part of the
iPhone upgrades that I pay for every month on my
phone bill. Because I want it. I want what you got, Kyle,
over there.
Speaker 7 (01:22:35):
It looks nice.
Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
You have a good camera.
Speaker 8 (01:22:38):
You can watch your TV on there.
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
It's pretty cool. Although, you know, normally I jump in,
but that's just too high of a price to jump in.
Speaker 9 (01:22:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:22:46):
Plus, I heard there's some issues.
Speaker 4 (01:22:47):
You would do it.
Speaker 10 (01:22:48):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (01:22:49):
I've heard some negative stuff about the new flip phone
thing that they have the duo that there's some issues
right now. So I would wait until the next one
comes out.
Speaker 8 (01:22:56):
Yeah, until like the second version.
Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
Plus, I kind of like what mine does now, right now.
I don't need it to be any better. I just
need it to do what it does.
Speaker 4 (01:23:02):
All right.
Speaker 10 (01:23:03):
Girl Scouts are adding some cookies next year.
Speaker 7 (01:23:08):
Cookie season will expand. Apparently, they've been leaving out a
very important customer, our dogs.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
Hello.
Speaker 10 (01:23:15):
They are launching Patch Pals, soft-baked blueberry muffin-flavored treats made
specifically for dogs.
Speaker 7 (01:23:22):
So these are cookies that are not meant for you.
You don't get to eat these. Plus, they are.
Speaker 10 (01:23:26):
Releasing a new human cookie called Sparkables, an oatmeal cookie
chip sprinkle cookie that is gluten-free, vegan, and free of
the nine major food allergens.
Speaker 7 (01:23:35):
So those little Girl Scouts.
Speaker 10 (01:23:36):
Can sell more and more and more and more and more.
Both are online only and start shipping when the 2027.
cookie season launches in January, right when everyone's trying to
get fit.
Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
Okay.
Speaker 10 (01:23:49):
Here in town, we got a pretty wild first look
at the future of flying. Right here, Joby Aviation brought
an autonomous aircraft to Deer Valley Airport. The plane was
supervised by a pilot on the ground instead of somebody
in the cockpit. So yeah, they're like, yeah, you got
self-driving cars. Why not self-driving airplanes? And Airplanes kind of
(01:24:10):
fly themselves once they're up in the air. But as
far as like the takeoff and landing and someone in
the cockpit, that just wasn't part of this.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
I think landing is important.
Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:24:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:24:19):
But self-driving everything now.
Speaker 10 (01:24:21):
The cool thing is, is here in Phoenix, this is
actually the first stop in the entire country for this
demo tour.
Speaker 7 (01:24:26):
So Arizona got to see it before everyone else, which
I love.
Speaker 8 (01:24:28):
It's kind of giving like drone. Like I feel like
I can see him just down on like a remote.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:24:34):
Just flying in and around.
Speaker 7 (01:24:36):
We are in the future, you guys.
Speaker 10 (01:24:39):
As far as the D-backs goes, there are only 16
games left till.
Speaker 7 (01:24:42):
We find out.
Speaker 10 (01:24:43):
Did we get the playoffs or not and we are
still half a game ahead of the Padres because like
we keep winning and then they keep winning and then
we lose and then they lose and so um we
play the Royals tonight in Kansas City hopefully we can
pull off a win and pull ahead of San Diego
but that's a little update for you and that's what
