Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, this is the 25th anniversary of 9-11.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
September 11th. It is also Remember a Hero Day.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
And we're going to be doing a 9-11 tribute throughout
the morning. So keep listening. We got a lot going
on too. We got Kanye tickets. We got the Disney tickets.
We've got Chance the Rapper tickets. We've got Minute to
Win it. But first, listen to this. A couple days ago,
I was driving and I saw that there was a
note under my windshield.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
A note, you say? Like a ticket?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah, but it wasn't a ticket because it looked like
a torn piece of paper. It looked like it would
be a note.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
It was under my windshield. You know what I'm talking about,
like on the windshield light work?

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Sure, sure.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
And I was like, oh, man, I wonder what that is.
I saw it when I pulled out of the driveway
here at the radio station on my parking spot. And
I was like, when I park, I'm going to get
that and see what that is. Anyway, I forgot to
get it. Then I get in the car and drive
it again. And I'm like, there's that thing. I got
to get it. Like literally two days of me doing that.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
That sounds right.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
So this morning I parked at the radio station and
here it is.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
It's a long note.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
It's a note.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
It's a lot of words on that note.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
And I literally thought, because I'm reading this and it
doesn't make sense, but I feel that with Kyle watching
all the murder documentaries and CSI stuff that we could
put this together because I feel that there's clues in
this note to help us understand.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
What does it say?

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Eve Jobs is not in London with Harry anymore. She's
residing in our beautiful Phoenix city. Do not use this
information yet. Look into the fact on London's end.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Okay. Okay.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
That is a riddle.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Is it something about Harry Styles?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
That's what I thought. Or Prince Harry.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Oh, well, it sounded like Eve job, like Steve jobs
to me in the beginning.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
I thought that they.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Leave the S out.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Is it ST?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Is it Steve jobs?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
But then they refer to Eve as she.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Okay. So get this. So here's what I did before
I pitched this to you guys on the air. Do
me a favor and Google Kyle Eve jobs.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
You got it. Eve, Eve jobs. Who are you?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Especially now with the Apple dropping.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Oh, she's very pretty.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
And who is she?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
She is a 28-year-old daughter of Steve Jobs.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
A daughter of Steve Jobs. Okay, now look who she's
married to.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
She is married to British Olympic gold medal winning show jumper.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Harry Charles.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Harry Charles.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
And I'm like, who is this person that left me
this note that is all caught up in Eve Jobs
and Harry Charles? We're caught up in Harry.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Styles and Zoe Kravitz.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
And they were here?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Apparently, according to this note. She's coming here. She's not
in London.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Is this written in an English accent?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Read it.

Speaker 7 (03:11):
Read it.

Speaker 8 (03:11):
Read it.

Speaker 9 (03:13):
Eve Jobs is not in London with Harry anymore. She's
residing in our beautiful Phoenix city. Do not use this
information yet. Look into the fact on London's end.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
On London's end.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Wait, wait, maybe I got to Google London's end.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
It totally makes sense when Kyle says it in like
a British accent though.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
London's end.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
I mean, it's a scoop of some sort.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
The fact on London's end. London's West End.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
You're getting all this hot gossip on your windshield. That's bizarre.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Yeah, that's really weird.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
So then that makes me wonder, where was the note?
I mean, you saw it here at the station, but
could it have been like in a neighborhood where, you know,
she's moving?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
I would think that it's somebody who came to the
radio station and left it on my car.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
That's what I think.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Because why would you give me England gossip if you're
just a random car parked in the street?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I don't know why anybody would give you England gossip anyway.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
That's so weird.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
So what does this mean to you, Kyle? I actually
thought of Kyle. I was like, give me all the clues.
What does this mean? And the person that left this note,
are they all caught up in English gossip? When you
think about all the current gossip, Kardashians, the Biebers, why
this note on my car?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
She is not in love.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Oh, maybe.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Okay. So maybe there's trouble in their marriage.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (04:33):
And also- And she had to come here because there
was a big Apple announcement.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, that's cool right now.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Because of her connection with Steve Jobs.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
She had to be in the States.

Speaker 10 (04:42):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
But then they were having a huge fight and Harry
was like, oh, I'm not coming there. I'm not going
to America.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Also, why if you're named Steve Jobs, you know who
you are. Why name your kid Eve? That's so close.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I actually thought of that.

Speaker 10 (04:54):
It's a little lazy.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Like when they were pregnant with a baby, what are
we going to call her?

Speaker 11 (04:57):
It's a girl.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
They wanted a Steve Jr.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
So they had to say over Eve Jr. I don't
care for that.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
But then again, I know there's a lot of horse
stuff going on here. This dude's a horse. Her husband
is a horse guy.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
But she's not.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
With Harry in London.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
She's not with Harry in London.

Speaker 11 (05:11):
She's here.

Speaker 12 (05:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
In our beautiful city.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
This is random, so we can post it on our
Instagram or whatever.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Someone's got the inside scoop.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You got the scoop on Eve Jobs and Harry.

Speaker 11 (05:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Harry Charles? Is that his name? Yeah. Harry Charles sounds
like Prince Harry, King Charles. It's a combination.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
So much.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
These people need to branch out with their names.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
This is like a Game of Thrones storyline.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
They know our love of the royal family.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
When you play the Game of Thrones, you either win
or you lose. So whoever left that on my car,
could you please call me, text me, DM me?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
We need more information.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Please, thank you. All right. Kiss FM.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
You know when it gets to last call and all
the dudes kind of start creeping up on you?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
We have the solution. Give them the John Jay and
Rich drunk dial line.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
602-888-1933.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
It's John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Peyton, what's the vibe for Horsecopes today?

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Well, it's Friday, so it's time to stop feeling guilty
and just go waste all that hard-earned money that you made.
And I'm going to let you know what you should
be buying today. Also, if it's your birthday today, you
should have a birthday with Ludacris, Taraji P. Henson, and Kygo.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
KT.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Hello.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
What's up? What's your sign?

Speaker 13 (06:21):
I am a Virgo.

Speaker 14 (06:22):
It is Virgo season. The new moon in Virgo is happening.
Did you know that?

Speaker 7 (06:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (06:29):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Well, Virgos, it is your season, so I'm going to
tell you exactly what you need to go spend your
money on today. Stop trying to just relax for free.
Go spend all your money on those aesthetic glass containers.
John Jay, I already know you're into that. And some
new fancy health hack right now. Giving you permission this
Friday to go and spend it.

Speaker 14 (06:49):
Fantastic. I mean, I've already got all of that, but,
you know, as a Virgo, we can never have too much.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Exactly.

Speaker 14 (06:54):
Can I tell you a little story?

Speaker 11 (06:57):
Sure.

Speaker 14 (06:59):
Well, I'm actually going to be in Salt Lake City
this Saturday doing some tarot reading.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Oh, really?

Speaker 14 (07:04):
At a flamenco festival.

Speaker 16 (07:06):
Yes.

Speaker 14 (07:07):
I'm just going to be at the Mill Creek Summit,
and I'll be doing tarot by Takahashi. I am Callie Takahashi,
or KT.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Hey, are you going to be in a flamingo or
flamenco festival?

Speaker 15 (07:23):
Flamenco dance.

Speaker 14 (07:24):
It's like a flamenco dance.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yes, very familiar with the flamenco dancing. It's a beautiful dance.
How fun to incorporate that with tarot card reading.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Very good.

Speaker 17 (07:34):
Right?

Speaker 14 (07:36):
It's through one of my best friends. They have some
Sephardic and different things like that. It's an outdoor festival
just for the community to come and enjoy different things.
for the end of the summer. And I'm really excited
to offer some different astrology readings to see what happens

(07:56):
for whoever wants to chat with me and get into
the tarot deck. All right.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Those things kind of scare me. They scare me, but
I'm glad you're doing it. Good luck, Katie. Thanks for
calling in.

Speaker 14 (08:10):
Thank you so, so much. And we'll chat again soon.

Speaker 18 (08:12):
I'm so sure.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Of course.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Daisy, good morning. What's your sign?

Speaker 18 (08:17):
I am a Leo. All right.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
I'm a Leo, too, Daisy. So the thing that we
need to go out and spend money on, which just
actually kind of worries me. But when we go out tonight,
we need to step up to the bar and buy
the entire table a round of top shelf shots. So
we love the applause. We love being the main character.
So we just need to own it. Hand over the card.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
We can pay the credit card off later. What bar
are you going to be at tonight, Peyton?

Speaker 5 (08:37):
I don't know. We'll see where the wind takes me.

Speaker 15 (08:40):
So rounds on us today?

Speaker 5 (08:42):
Rounds on us. I'll probably be in downtown Phoenix, truthfully.

Speaker 15 (08:45):
That is very scary.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
All right, Daisy, thanks for calling in. Have a great day.

Speaker 8 (08:49):
You too, babe.

Speaker 19 (08:50):
Bye.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
How about Pisces?

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Okay, Rich, for you, what you need to go spend
your money on. Oddly enough, since we just talked to KT,
you might go and drop like 300 bucks on a
new tarot card deck or like a giant crystal or
like maybe one of those online readings. Your vibes will
feel completely chaotic today and you need like a spiritual
exercise to explain it. Maybe a Ouija board. It's getting

(09:12):
into spooky season.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
I will never mess with a Ouija board. Crystal though,
you know, those are real. How about those Libras?

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Kyle, for Libras, I am ordering you to go get
that $ 9 overpriced blackberry chai tea that you go and
get at the lunch lounge.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Cheers.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
It might be basic for you. It might be overpriced,
but it looks cute in your hands, so you go
and buy it, babe.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Love it.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Done. All right, if we can get to your sign there,
I'll post it on our website, johnjainrich.com.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
We want you to be part of the show.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Call us.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
877-937-1047. Get on the air with John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Last week on my birthday, I shared with you guys
that I've been obsessed for a long time. I had
a psychic tell me that I was going to die
before my birthday in 2026.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Which is insane.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
It's insane. And you're alive.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
And I've been dealing with it for a long time.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
And I'm alive.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Thank goodness they were wrong.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
But we wanted to know, has someone ever predicted something?
And they were right. I was thinking psychic. But, well,
let me tell you first. Let's say hi to Henry. Henry,
what did someone predict for you? And was it a
psychic or no?

Speaker 17 (10:18):
My uh my buddy who i don't know i think
he might be psychic and that's that's kind of his
whole story um because it wasn't even supposed to be
serious like it was we were just hanging this is
like 10 years ago me and my buddy his name
is kyle we were drinking beers like 10 years ago
we were just talking about marriage we were in our
20s and he just he gets serious and he looks

(10:41):
at me and he goes dude, you're so the type
to get divorced, but then hook up with your ex
wife and marry her again, which I was like, that's
so specific and kind of a burn. I feel like
we laugh. Um, you know, I said that he watched
too much TV. I think he was a little drunk
cause he doesn't remember it too well. Cause, uh, yeah,

(11:03):
fast forward a few years and you know, a lot
of life happened. I got married and, I got divorced,
we split up, our lives were a mess, and we
started dating other people. But lo and behold, one night
we ran into each other at a bar and one
thing led to another, the chemistry was rekindled, and we

(11:25):
kind of ended up secretly hooking up for a few months.
We were both stubborn about it. We were both, you know,
we're both strong people. But then we gave in, and
eventually we did get remarried.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I actually love that story. All the way before you
were even married the first time. He called, like, three
stages of the relationship.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
See, my thing is, did he really, psychic, did he
predict it, or is it more of, I told you so? Like, ha,
I told you so that would happen. Because it was
in my head, right?

Speaker 17 (11:55):
But I was like, I'm not letting Kyle manifest this.
I was like, you know, thinking about him saying that,
and that made me not want to get back with
her because I just didn't want him to be right. But,
you know, he had nothing to do with it. One
thing led to another, and happily ever after. I love
my wife, but I... I had to tell Kyle about

(12:17):
it after all the dust settled.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Was he at both weddings? Because at the second one,
that should be his whole speech.

Speaker 17 (12:22):
He was in both wedding parties.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Are you still married to her right now?

Speaker 8 (12:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
All right.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
That's amazing.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Very cool story.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Thanks, Henry.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Thanks for sharing that with us.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Thank you. Of course.

Speaker 17 (12:35):
I asked him, though. I was like, hey, you remember
what you told me?

Speaker 15 (12:38):
And he says, no.

Speaker 17 (12:39):
And so I was like, oh, I thought you were just, like,
talking shit. And he claims, like, oh, I barely remember that.

Speaker 13 (12:44):
I was drunk.

Speaker 11 (12:45):
I was joking.

Speaker 17 (12:46):
But I think this guy's a savant, and I think
he should.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Like a beer-drinking savant. He only has his powers when
he drinks. Exactly.

Speaker 17 (12:53):
I think he can make a fortune. You know, Miss
Cleo tends to, you know, next generation.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Thanks, brother.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Joanna, what does someone predict about you when it turned.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Out to be true?

Speaker 20 (13:03):
So my aunt was literally on her deathbed and told
me that I was pregnant. And I told her, no,
I'm not. They said I couldn't have kids. You know,
I wasn't really showing any symptoms or anything.

Speaker 18 (13:14):
And she's like, baby Joe.

Speaker 14 (13:16):
You're pregnant.

Speaker 20 (13:17):
She said, you're pregnant right now or you're going to be.
And so I didn't believe her. I went home, ate
pregnancy test later.

Speaker 18 (13:24):
We're all positive.

Speaker 7 (13:26):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
How did she know?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
She had that intuition.

Speaker 18 (13:30):
It was really weird.

Speaker 20 (13:31):
And like I said, she was on her death as
she had been fighting cancer. So she was like in
her last few days. And so the next day I
had made an appointment with an OBGYN, went in, got
an ultrasound. I was 11 weeks pregnant.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (13:45):
Dang.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
She was like halfway watching you from the other side.

Speaker 8 (13:50):
Something.

Speaker 10 (13:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 20 (13:51):
It was like two weeks later she had passed and
I had, was able to tell her that I was pregnant.
And then if it was a girl, it was going
to be named after her. And I had a boy.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
What was your aunt's name?

Speaker 20 (14:05):
Her name was Laura.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
And what's your son's name?

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Dean.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
You should have called him Laura anyway. I was kind
of thinking about it. Laura, just Laura, and then be like, sorry, man.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Sorry, my aunt said you were going to bring Abby.
I wasn't even supposed to have you.

Speaker 17 (14:18):
Be glad, Laura.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Stop crying, Laura.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Be glad, Laura. All right, Joanna. Congratulations. That's a good one.
Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 14 (14:26):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Stella, what did someone predict about you and they were right?

Speaker 21 (14:32):
So one time my best friend said to me, you
would so get involved in a police chase because you
think that you're helping somebody. And like when I heard that,
obviously I laughed because like I had like literally never
gotten a speeding ticket.

Speaker 18 (14:52):
But then a.

Speaker 21 (14:53):
Few years later, I'm driving home at like 11 at night.
And I see this guy. He's, like, running down the
street waving his arms. And I kind of recognize him.
So I pull over in case he's, like, been hit
or something. And then he, like, jumps into my passenger seat.
And I realize I do know him. It's this kid

(15:16):
that I went to middle school with. And before we
can even.

Speaker 8 (15:19):
Catch up, he's like... Hi, Stella.

Speaker 21 (15:22):
Like, not time to talk. Like, go, go, go.

Speaker 18 (15:24):
And I'm like, whoa.

Speaker 21 (15:26):
But I like step on the gas and before I
can even process it, three police cars come flying around
the corner. And it turns out that he had just
robbed a gas station and.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Did not have an escape plan.

Speaker 21 (15:42):
And did not have an escape plan, exactly. And was, like,
lucky that I was.

Speaker 12 (15:48):
There, I guess.

Speaker 21 (15:48):
But, like, obviously, I immediately pulled over. But for about
a second, I was, like, literally driving around with a
wanted man in my passenger seat.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Man, that's crazy. Someone predicted that. That's a crazy prediction.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
She might have predicted that you were going to be
right there on the corner, so you didn't need to
have a plan.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Stella's going to be there.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Because look at how he gets in the car. Hey, Stella,
no time to talk. Let's go.

Speaker 18 (16:13):
I know.

Speaker 21 (16:15):
People know what's going to happen.

Speaker 15 (16:17):
Apparently, I'm very predictable.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Man, that's a crazy story. Thanks for sharing it, Stella.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
That is crazy.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
I'm assuming he's in prison now or something.

Speaker 21 (16:26):
I think that he went to jail.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
All right.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Thanks for sharing it.

Speaker 18 (16:29):
Thanks.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
It's John Jane Rich.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
I don't know how you found us.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
But I'm so thankful that you did. It's John. All right,
it's time for stacks and hacks. Stacks of information and
life hacks. I start off stacks with the loudest states.
The loudest states. New studies set out to find the
loudest and quietest states in America. They analyzed the national

(16:56):
transportation noise data to determine which states were the loudest
in terms of cars, trains, and planes.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Okay, well, it's got to be Illinois like Chicago.

Speaker 10 (17:04):
Vegas.

Speaker 18 (17:05):
Nevada.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Nevada.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Texas is one, Nevada's two, then California, Illinois, Florida, then Arizona.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Oh, really?

Speaker 5 (17:14):
As the loudest?

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I would think New York would be on there. It's
like the city that never sleeps.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
New York is after Arizona.

Speaker 10 (17:19):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 16 (17:19):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Connecticut was the quietest.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
All those trees.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
I'm shocked to hear that we're that high up because
literally when my husband, Kadeem, moved here, his favorite thing
about living in Arizona was that it was so quiet.
That you didn't really hear all of the planes and
the sirens and the ambulances and all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
That's because you three are in the outskirts.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
That's true.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
I guess we are a little bit, yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I remember you were living before.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
You had wild pelicans and whatever running.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Around or peacocks.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Yeah, we had peacocks.

Speaker 5 (17:48):
Yeah, we were on a county island.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
In your family... Are there fast eaters and slow eaters?
John Jay is the fastest eater I know. A new
article talked about eating speed and the gaps in relationships.
Like if you're married to a slow eater and a
fast eater, it could cause friction, but only if one
of them is disrespectful about it. And my house is 50,
50 fast eaters. So if you eat real, like sometimes

(18:10):
I eat and I get up and then my wife's like,
we're still eating. I got to watch TV. What would
cost your employer more? You or a humanoid robot?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Ooh.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
What do you think, Kyle?

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Well, right now, the robots are pretty expensive, so I
would say the robot.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
According to a report, a two-legged humanoid robot in a
factory would cost employers.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
$ 400, 000.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Over five years. Is that more than your salary?

Speaker 11 (18:39):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
So that's how they're looking at it.

Speaker 18 (18:41):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Solid right, the robot.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Here are some common mistakes people make when they're brushing
their teeth. Not brushing for a full two minutes every time.
I don't do that. Oh, yeah, you gotta do that.
Not cleaning their tongue. I do that. And rinsing their
mouth out with water right after they brush. Those are mistakes.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Yeah, I learned that one recently.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
I mean, how do you not rinse your mouth out?

Speaker 5 (19:03):
Yeah, but you're not supposed to. You're just supposed to
spit and allow the toothpaste to do what the toothpaste
is supposed to do.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
But it's all gross in your mouth.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
I know.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
I don't do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Uh, Andrew Kuberman, I freaking love this guy. He does
a podcast on health and nutrition and stuff. And he does,
he said this thing a long time ago and I
haven't done it yet. And I think about it every morning.
So he says, when you wake up before you brush
your teeth, take water, put in your mouth, gargle, swish
around and then swallow it. Why? And I gargle and
swish around, but then I spit it out, I'm afraid.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Why do you swallow it?

Speaker 1 (19:31):
It's kind of gross.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
The bacteria in your mouth, when it goes in your stomach,
is supposed to be really good for you. Oh, no.

Speaker 16 (19:36):
No.

Speaker 19 (19:36):
No.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I almost want to have him on our show to
explain that to me. I know, and I'm hoping that
I heard it wrong.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Because you're brushing all that bacteria that's building up that's
not good for you.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
That's how you get sick, I would feel like.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
I mean, that's why you're brushing, because it's nasty bacteria.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Next time you're brushing your teeth in the morning when
you wake up, just put some water in your mouth
to whoosh around and go, right now I'm supposed to
swallow it.

Speaker 19 (19:59):
I can't. I can't.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
I don't think I could.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
That's how far I get.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
I go to do it. I can't, I can't, I can't.
I keep taking a drink of water, but not swishing it.
Just straight down the chute.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
So there's this mayor of this town. This is the
weirdest thing in the world. They've caught this mayor in
random surveillance like CCTV walking around the town with no
pants on.

Speaker 22 (20:18):
Ew.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
What a creep.

Speaker 10 (20:20):
I know.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
It's so weird. He's the mayor.

Speaker 11 (20:22):
He's the mayor on a couple different occasions without wearing pants,
which is a very big issue that's unethical.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
So now the mayor's going to retire at the end
of the month. It's in North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Yikes. It's a weird platform to try to get elected on.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Man on TikTok was amused when he saw a man
at Subway order a footlong tuna sub and four chocolate cookies. Then,
check out what he said next.

Speaker 22 (20:49):
I was just at Subway getting lunch, and the guy
in front of me ordered a footlong tuna sandwich and
four chocolate chip cookies. And when he got to the register,
the cashier asked him if he wanted a bag of chips,
and he said, nope, I don't need any of that
processed shit. I guess we all have a line somewhere.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Athletes in ancient Greek Olympics competed completely naked. It was
a tribute to the Greek god Zeus. They wanted to
show Zeus their physical power and muscular physique.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
It'd be so weird.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
But I get it, though.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Running naked.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Right. Doing things naked outside.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
That's how they were back then.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
But also, I'm glad we're not in that stage anymore.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
I think it would depend what sport.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
A new poll asked how confident Americans feel about performing
very common actions without instructions.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Okay. They are.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Sewing a button onto a shirt.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Cooking white rice.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
That I can do. I'm a big fan of the rice.
I can't.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
I actually asked my son the other day if he
could make it for me. And he told me, just
put it on.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
I don't want to do that. I don't know how to.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Changing a flat tire.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
I can do that. I don't know how to do that.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
That's a blue job.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Changing a baby's dirty diaper.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
I can do that.

Speaker 11 (22:00):
Got it.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
So there you go. There you go. What do you
got for life, Axe Rich? That's fine. Okay, so, you know,
we've done hacks here for a long time, but science
says that they're actually simple things, totally simple things, not
like exercise or anything like that, that actually make your
life better. And you should at least do three of
these five things every single day. One, of course, you

(22:21):
know you should be drinking water, so we'll put that
on there. And getting seven hours of sleep is a
sweet spot for most people. But here's the thing that
I think that we don't think about, that if you
do this in your life, you will live longer and
you will feel better. Eat one piece of fresh fruit
every day. Change your sheets once a week. And this one,

(22:41):
wash your face with cold water and soap twice a day.
And if you do those things, you're going to feel
better and live longer. And they say the other thing, too,
is clean up your spaces, like keep your space tidy.
A tidy space makes you feel healthier. So those life
hacks and many more can be found at johnjainrich.com. Good morning, Courtney.

(23:02):
What's up? You're on the air.

Speaker 8 (23:03):
Hi, John Jay. I don't know if you remember me.
I called in a few months ago, but I'm living
in Brussels right now, so it's like nighttime for me.
But I have a question that I wanted to ask
for the audience and just like a general question just
because my husband got upset about something recently and I

(23:24):
wanted an opinion, mostly from Kyle and Peyton.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
They're right here.

Speaker 11 (23:27):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Okay, perfect.

Speaker 8 (23:30):
So I don't have many friends here. I'm obviously from
the States. My friend connected me with this girl here.
We hit it off right away last weekend. We hung out.

Speaker 14 (23:42):
She.

Speaker 8 (23:45):
That's about an hour train right away. So we hung
out for... like the whole night and it was kind
of too late for her to go home so I
said yeah stay the night with me because she was
super cool and my husband's a pilot so he's gone
a lot so he was not here and she stayed
the night I didn't I don't have another place for
her to sleep like other than like in the bed

(24:07):
next to me we had girl talk we were gossiping
giggling it felt like so natural it was completely platonic
kind of thing and my husband got super upset and
he said she should have slept on the couch blah
blah blah uh like that's not okay with me that
her sleeping in the bed with you and one thing

(24:30):
he said you're a 40 year old woman and you
should not be having sleepovers like this and I got
super offended and I said whoa whoa whoa whoa okay
well first of all this girl is way cool. It's
hard to make girlfriends at my age. And we hit
it off and I don't think I should be in
trouble for this. And then he went on to say that, like,

(24:53):
he was just mad that he doesn't know this girl
and she slept in his bed. And then I said, okay, okay.
I understand that part of it.

Speaker 18 (24:59):
But she's super cool.

Speaker 8 (25:00):
But to bring my age into it, I think any woman, like,
you have a sleepover with your girl, like, it's fun. It's,
I don't know. I just want Kyle and Peyton's opinion
on this?

Speaker 6 (25:13):
I think I'll have sleepovers when I'm 85. I think
there's really something special about women friendships. And I think like,
Guys don't, the guys don't really work the same way.
Like I know my husband, he like could have no
friends forever and he doesn't care. Like it's not, but
I feel like women, we need girlfriends. Like it actually

(25:34):
helps give us life. So it's something maybe he doesn't understand,
but I think you're totally in the right. And if
it makes him feel better, like, do you want to
meet her? Do you want to interview her? Like nothing
weird was going on. If it makes him feel better,
you like introduce them, I guess. But I say you
can have sleepovers whenever you want.

Speaker 8 (25:52):
And as girls, like we have this girl bond and
we gossip and we giggle. And my daughter, my daughter's 19.
And she, even the next morning, she's like, I'm.

Speaker 18 (26:01):
So happy for you, mom.

Speaker 8 (26:02):
You finally made a girlfriend.

Speaker 17 (26:04):
I know, right?

Speaker 8 (26:05):
We were gossiping. We were giggling in the morning. We
woke up and we're just chatting and like talking about
each other's like boyfriend. Like, well, my husband and her
boyfriend and like just laughing and like giggling.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
And it was so fun.

Speaker 8 (26:18):
And my husband was just like, I don't know. He said,
that's not appropriate.

Speaker 15 (26:22):
And I said, yes, it is.

Speaker 8 (26:24):
You just don't understand girl friendships. He also doesn't have
a sister. He never grew up with girls. He only
has a brother. He doesn't understand the girl thing.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
Yeah, he doesn't understand girlhood. And I think it's totally OK.
My mom, literally, I was on the phone with her
last night. I was like, where are you at? Why
are you not at home? Oh, I'm having a sleepover
with Kathleen. We're at a nice little spa and we're
just having a girl's night.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Literally, my mom. He's older than you.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
I'm going to give you a different perspective, but I
also want you to, there's something I think you can
show your husband. If you watch the most recent season
of Ted Lasso, there's a lot of that in Ted
Lasso with Rebecca and Keely. They're both friends, and there's
a couple times where they have a sleepover, and they're
literally watching TV, and she's resting on her stomach, and
one of her friends is watching TV. So that can

(27:08):
explain the girlhood. But let me give you another perspective. Oh,
John Jay, I have.

Speaker 8 (27:14):
I just started Ted Lasso. I'm only on season two. Okay,
so don't run it first.

Speaker 19 (27:19):
No, no, no.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Listen, listen, listen.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Keep watching it because you're going to see their friendship blossom.
You said something your husband said, which makes me look
into his perspective, is that a stranger spent the night
at his house. That's where he's like, hey, man, there's
somebody that we don't know that spent the night in
her house and stayed in my room, in my bed.
I'm worried for my daughter. I'm worried for you. I mean,
there's safety. So he could have that. I'm the protector

(27:45):
of my house. And you let a stranger stay there,
especially after watching Furious.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Yeah, I would argue a trust factor, though.

Speaker 8 (27:52):
Like, you think I'm going to.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Spend time with somebody or allow someone to stay in
my home?

Speaker 2 (27:56):
He's still going to feel how he feels.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
When I was a kid growing up, we weren't allowed
to let our friends come in our parents' bedroom. So
it's kind of like, I'm just asking you to look
at it through his perspective.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
I like that perspective, and that makes me respect it more.
But also, like... Stopping such a buzzkill. I know, but I.

Speaker 8 (28:14):
Think more so he was, he's more of a germaphobe.
So I think it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 8 (28:20):
He's like, I don't know her.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Does she use my toothbrush?

Speaker 8 (28:26):
I'm going to wash everything. I wash all the linens,
like whatever. Don't worry. He's like, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
And I said, I apologize.

Speaker 8 (28:34):
I'm like, I'm sorry. You're right. Like, I wouldn't want someone,
I don't know, sleeping on my pillow.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I bet you he wouldn't have a problem if the
sleepover was at her place. Like, hey, I'm going to
be over at the new friend's house over the weekend.
He'd probably be like, okay, cool. I'll see you when
you get home. But because there's a stranger on his pillow.

Speaker 8 (28:48):
Nope, I think he would.

Speaker 10 (28:49):
You do?

Speaker 3 (28:50):
That's what I'm telling you.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Keep watching. There's a little bit of.

Speaker 8 (28:53):
There's a little bit of a track. He thinks there's
a little bit of something. He's a little jealous, too,
along with that. And I'm like, we can have friendships
and we're close. It's a girl thing.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Oh, yes.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
I agree with everything you're saying. But I just want
you to think about this for a second. Again, my
point of view about from the protective husband's point of
view and dad, there's that. But then also continue watching
Ted Lasso because the friendship continues. even for me i
grew up with a sister my mom and my mom
had i'm a mexican mexican people spending my house all
the time everybody's in beds everything but when you see
the friendship of keely and rebecca it's exactly what you

(29:24):
described and it's i remember i was watching it a
couple nights and i was like man that is really
how girls do it if guys did it that'd be
so weird not that i'm not guys who shouldn't do
it but it'd be weird if i i've known rich
for 25 years i don't think i'll sleep in the
same bed with him rest my head on his chest
and watch.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Tv we could try it we've shared rooms before. That
was a disaster. John Jay would booby trap the room
because he was afraid somebody was going to come in
and murder him. Yeah, exactly. And I don't want to
go to bed at 8.30 p.m. Courtney, I'm glad you called.
We're going to get tons of calls on this. All right.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
And to his friend is visiting. Sorry for his friends
visiting from Doha right now, but he's not arriving until
midnight tonight. And I joked, I said, we should switch
places and you should go lay in the bed and
cover yourself up and pretend to be me. So when
he arrives, you're like, hello.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Well, that's totally something totally different. He's pretending to be
you is something totally different. That might not go the
way you think it's going to go. Courtney, I know
you're in another country. I want you to listen to
everyone's response on the podcast or later.

Speaker 10 (30:25):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Cause I know you got to go.

Speaker 23 (30:26):
I can't wait.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
All right.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Thanks Courtney. I can't wait.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (30:31):
Bye guys.

Speaker 10 (30:31):
Bye.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Your thoughts, 877-937-1047.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
We are like a whole vibe.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
All right, so Courtney had a sleepover at her house
while her husband was out of town with a new friend,
and he was pissed. Allie, your thoughts.

Speaker 23 (30:50):
Yeah, so I'm just wondering if Courtney's the one that
called in before that had said that she was evacuating
a country due to safety concerns, her husband's a pilot,
all of that stuff. and they were moving because.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Yeah, that's her.

Speaker 23 (31:02):
Yeah, so he's a pilot. Whether he's a military pilot
or a commercial pilot, he has to have certain security
clearances that other people don't necessarily have to have to
be able to fly aircraft safely. So I'm wondering if
there's an underlining issue there that's more so he's upset
because it could be a safety concern. I mean, he
doesn't know this person. This person lives in that country.

(31:24):
Not saying that people are bad in every country.

Speaker 19 (31:26):
However.

Speaker 23 (31:27):
You know, sometimes people do become targets for certain things
once they find out something about a person.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
He used to be in lockdown mode. So just having
somebody sleeping in his bed, he'd be like, whoa, what?

Speaker 18 (31:39):
Right.

Speaker 23 (31:39):
So his fight or flight is just probably on alert
because they just literally had to evacuate another country for safety.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
That makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
You know what, guys?

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Both things can be true. Just kidding.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
I don't know if that worked out.

Speaker 23 (31:53):
Also, John Jay, my 13-year-old actually has a question for you.
She asked if she could ask you.

Speaker 8 (31:59):
Sure. How do I get Disney tickets? Like, what's your
tips and tricks?

Speaker 6 (32:06):
Tips and tricks for Disney tickets, guys.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
I got a great tip. Here's what you do, Leslie.
You take your phone in with you to school, put
an earpiece in, and you listen for the magic words
on the iHeart app or on Kiss FM. And we
give them out at 10.05. What time are you out
of school?

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Three o'clock.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Okay, perfect. Then you listen for the magic words at 10.05, 11.05, 12.05, 1.05, 2.05.
You'll get five magic words. And then Monday, we'll ask
you to call in. That's your tip.

Speaker 8 (32:36):
What about this morning?

Speaker 14 (32:37):
Because when do we call?

Speaker 12 (32:39):
Like, what's the best.

Speaker 5 (32:40):
Time to call?

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Probably around 8.00.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
802, 803, right around that. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Now, another thing is you can have your mom do
it for you. Have her listen. If she loves you,
she'll win.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (32:51):
I know.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
That's why I told her to. Oh, she heard yesterday's. Okay, good. Well,
call us back in about 40 minutes. Good luck.

Speaker 18 (33:00):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
The key is, though, to be listening to us. You
just can't call in. You got to listen when we
tell you to call in.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Leslie, your thoughts on the sleepover?

Speaker 8 (33:11):
Hello.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Hello, Leslie.

Speaker 18 (33:13):
Okay, hi. Yeah, so I saw a whole bunch of
the comments were like, well, if she's bisexual, then there's
a problem. There could be a problem for that. And
I am full-on lesbian, married to my wife. We've been
together for 16 years. And I've slept in beds with
my best friends because you know what? Just because I'm

(33:33):
with somebody with a vajayjay doesn't mean I want everybody
with a vajayjay.

Speaker 5 (33:37):
Period.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
I mean, that tracks, I guess.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Mic drops.

Speaker 11 (33:43):
Sure.

Speaker 18 (33:44):
I just, I can't control myself around women.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Whatever.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
That's the way it is.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
All right, Leslie.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
I wasn't expecting that point of view, but thank you
for bringing it.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
It's a valid one.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
It is.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
It very much is.

Speaker 15 (33:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Thanks, Leslie.

Speaker 14 (34:01):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Have a great day. You too.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
So today is 9-11, September 11th, and we are going
to get into a special tribute segment. Probably around in
about 10 minutes after we play. What's the game we play?

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Minute 20?

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Yeah, Minute 20, after Minute 20. Yeah, and then we
got a special tribute in just a little bit. But first,
Arnold's got an opinion on the sleepover.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Hold on a second. What's up, Arnold?

Speaker 3 (34:32):
You're on the air.

Speaker 12 (34:35):
Hey, good morning.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Morning. Go ahead. What's up?

Speaker 24 (34:41):
All right, so, yeah, I know there's a, you know,
an odd debate, you know, about if it's fine if,
you know, if, I guess, in my case, you know,
my wife.

Speaker 12 (34:52):
And, you know, another female, you know, sleeps in the
bed with them, you know, opposed to me. I don't
really care. Like I said, my situation is, you know,
my wife's got a best friend that they've known since, well,
I knew my wife, and, you know, every time they
get together, you know, they live out of town, so
they're separated, so whenever they They're together, you know, they
have fun, and then, you know, usually they'll go out

(35:13):
or something, and the next thing you know, I'm probably
hanging out on the couch or something, or maybe I'll
go and do something, and then, you know, they'll sleep
on the bed, and I say, well, there goes my spot.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
First, I thought you said your wife has a friend
come over and sleep next to you in the bed.
I'm like, well, that would be weird.

Speaker 12 (35:33):
Oh, yeah, no, yeah, that wouldn't be, that would be,
I don't think she'll approve of that.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Yeah, I imagine not.

Speaker 12 (35:39):
Yeah, so, yeah, usually that's what happens. It happened most recently.
You know, we went out to catch up, and then
they left before I did from the bar. And then
when I got home, you know, my spot was taken
from the friend. Like I said, they're like sisters. And
I said, well, I guess I've got to go to
the couch, you know. It's pretty much there. But like
I said, I don't care. They're like sisters, you know.

(36:01):
Got it. Ain't no funny business. It is how it is.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
That's how it is. That's what we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Thanks, Arnold. Thanks for listening.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
So it's 9-11, and I've been thinking a lot about,
this is random, but Noah, our very own Noah, our
audio ninja, he was in New York for the Harry
Styles concert, and he's in New York on 9-11. And
I was thinking about, I don't know how old Noah is.
You guys know how old Noah is?

Speaker 10 (36:24):
24?

Speaker 11 (36:25):
23, 24?

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Right in that realm.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
He wasn't even born yet.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
He wasn't even born yet.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Yeah, because it's the 25th anniversary today.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
And then I see this. The article says it's a
quarter of a century since the September 11th attacks. It's
hard to wrap your head around it if you're a boomer,
a Gen Xer, or an older millennial. You remember where
you were. But for others like Noah, he wasn't even
born yet.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
It's just got to be like World War II is
for us. You just care about it.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Here's a list of things that are actually more recent
than 9-11. Like the iPod. The iPod debuted in November
of 2001. Google News launched in September of 2002. Skype
started in 2003. LinkedIn in 2003. Gmail didn't start until 2004. Oh,
that's wild.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Google Maps, February 2005.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
YouTube started in 2005. Podcast, the term came common in 2004.
Podcast was 2005's word of the year. The iPhone debuted
in 2007 and the Android 2008. Tesla didn't even exist yet.
It came out in 2003 and neither did Uber. Uber
came out in 2009. Think about all these things that

(37:33):
have happened since 9-11. And all of those have changed
the world. No Harry Potter movies have hit theaters yet.
No Lord of the Rings movies have hit theaters yet.
Elf is more recent than 9-11. So is the first
Pirates of the Caribbean, The Notebook, Mean Girls, and The
40-Year-Old Virgin.

Speaker 11 (37:49):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
No one had heard of American Idol, The Office, or
Lost or Grey's Anatomy.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Isn't that wild? It is kind of wild.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
Beyonce's solo career didn't start yet. Kanye West didn't put
out his first... album until 2004 and Taylor Swift didn't
debut until 2006. Crocs didn't debut until 2002. Nintendo DS
wasn't out until 2004. The Wii didn't hit stores until 2006.
No one said selfie until 2002. Hashtag in 2007. Mansplain
in 2008. And YOLO in 2011. So those are all

(38:22):
things that are older or younger than 9-11. And Noah
Lashley is in New York right now walking the streets
of No, what's the vibe.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
There in New York City today?

Speaker 3 (38:32):
I wasn't even born then.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 11 (38:35):
That's my favorite thing ever. How old are you now?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
24?

Speaker 12 (38:39):
24.

Speaker 11 (38:39):
I was almost born on 9-11. My mom had to
go in and get some emergency doctor visits to prevent
that from happening because I.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Wasn't ready yet. Oh, when is your birthday?

Speaker 11 (38:51):
February 15th. I was supposed to be born in March.
I was almost born in September.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Oh, dang.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
So you being in New York City on 9-11, can
you tell? I don't know if you were there because
I talked to him last night, and I was like,
are you going to the memorial?

Speaker 2 (39:04):
And he said it's private. It is.

Speaker 11 (39:08):
They shut down pretty much all of lower Manhattan at
10 o'clock last night. We got the last train out of–
we went down there. We went down to the One
World Observatory, and we went to the reflecting pools to
pay our respects, and they were doing TV interviews and
setting up big stages and whatnot. We got the last
train out of there at 9.55.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
What's it feel like when you walk down there?

Speaker 11 (39:28):
It is eerie. You feel the pain in the air. Yesterday,
it was quiet and hearts were heavy. Today, the same thing.
But today, the difference is I feel like you feel
a lot of the love and respect too. There's Families,
there's people that flew in. We had a drink last
night at a bar with a firefighter from Vancouver who

(39:50):
came to just volunteer and help with the setup. And
a whole crowd formed and they shared memories. And, you know,
the bartender paid for drinks and it was just really special.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Well, I heard at the memorial today, Obama's going to
be there. Bush is going to be there. Joe Biden's
going to be there. And Trump's going to be at
the Pentagon. So New York is that whole area. You know,
when the president comes, they probably shut that whole thing down.

Speaker 12 (40:12):
Oh, for sure.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
And they're only letting the families and they're going to
read every person's name that died.

Speaker 18 (40:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
I think they did that this morning.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
Oh, they already did. Yeah. It's really interesting. Cause we're
going to, we're going to play that a tribute and it,
it's really interesting. The ones that you hear, it takes
me right back to those moments for us in the show.
Cause we had just started the John Jane rich show
like months before.

Speaker 19 (40:33):
Right.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
And we were kind of, uh, we were, we were
kind of planning, uh, shows when we started seeing the
video and we're like, Oh, everything just changed right now.
Everything is different.

Speaker 22 (40:44):
No.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
When do you come home today?

Speaker 5 (40:46):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Well, thank you for reporting live from New York city.

Speaker 11 (40:52):
Live in the streets of Manhattan.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
To be flying home from New York on today.

Speaker 11 (40:59):
It is an interesting day to be flying home.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
I will say that.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Yeah. I also am getting on a plane today. Kind
of scary, but we should be fine.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Thanks, Noah.

Speaker 11 (41:09):
More power to you.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
God bless.

Speaker 22 (41:10):
Bye.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
We need a contestant. We're going to play Minute to
Win at 877-937-1047. Wait for a contestant. By the way,
I found some video footage. This is so crazy that
I found it. And it was like when, so 9-11
hit and then Rich and I immediately, like a day
or two late, we were on vacation.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
It was like our first day of vacation. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
We just canceled it. Went back to the radio station
and we just stayed on the air. And I mean, from,
like 7 a.m. until, I don't know, days. We were
like sleeping there and doing whatever. And then we came
up with the idea to do this human flag.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
It was in Tucson.

Speaker 3 (41:45):
The human flag came together on September 15th. And it
was just out of control. And I found video of
all that.

Speaker 18 (41:52):
Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
So I'm putting it together so I can post it
and you can see how crazy it was. We had
like 30,000 people show up at Tucson Electric Park.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
And it was madness, but it was beautiful madness.

Speaker 6 (42:02):
Yeah, because like 9-11, it was such like a shocking tragedy.
And then afterwards, like, I guess the rainbow after the
storm was like how united America was and how everyone
wanted to just like help each other and be there
for each other.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
Do something.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
Support one another.

Speaker 18 (42:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
And also, too, it's like the human flag, 30,000 people
in that park that we did. it seemed like it
went pretty smoothly. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
There was a, it was, it was, it was hot.
There were the fire department was there. We told people
to bring a white shirt, a blue shirt and a
red shirt. And then we had Oregon. We were like, okay,
we got this many people can be white. This may
be able to be red. And we put together this
flag and it kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
and I'll post the video up. What's interesting about the
video was 25 years ago, Rich looks the same, I
look totally different.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
You sound different. I was hearing the clip this morning,
I'm like, who's that talking? John Jay's like, that's me.
I'm like, why do you sound so different? Because I
was a child. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
It's all grown up now.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Dude, my hair is bleach blonde. It was like, it
was so... Which was popular at the time.

Speaker 3 (42:59):
Man, it's a mess. So I'll be posting that on
my Instagram at JohnJVanS in just a little bit. Also,
if you missed War of the Roses yesterday... If you
go to our Instagram, JohnJayandRich, you can type in the
word roses. We'll send it to you directly to your phone.
It is now time to play Minute to Win It.
We got $ 1, 000 of Pat Hickey's money. Pat Hickey's the
owner and the general manager of Peoria Ford. He called
me yesterday. He's going in today. Let's say prayer for Pat.

(43:21):
He's going in for a full-body MRI at Simon Med today.
And he asked me if he had to do the enema.

Speaker 2 (43:27):
Did you tell him yes, I hope? I should have.
I should have. Can't go in there without an enema? Hi, Stephanie.

Speaker 24 (43:35):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (43:36):
Where are you right now?

Speaker 23 (43:39):
I just dropped my kids off at school.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
And where are you?

Speaker 23 (43:43):
I am actually parked in the park outside of their school.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
What part of.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
Town?

Speaker 13 (43:50):
We're out in, like, East Mesa.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Oh, okay, good. I like the individual of where you are.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
All right. Is there somebody in the car with you
or by yourself?

Speaker 23 (43:58):
I'm by myself.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
Stephanie. Oh, you got to turn down the radio a
little bit. Turn down the radio just a little bit
because I can hear myself asking you questions.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
Yeah, it's going to confuse you when it's game time. Right, right, right. So, okay,
are you ready?

Speaker 18 (44:11):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
Okay.

Speaker 12 (44:12):
Yes, I am.

Speaker 16 (44:13):
60 seconds on the clock.

Speaker 12 (44:14):
$ 1, 000 can be yours.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Okay, Stephanie, let's go. What artist is famous for her songs,
I Kissed a Girl.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
Hot and Cold, and Firework?

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Katy Perry. Jeff Bezos is the founder of what company?

Speaker 23 (44:42):
Oh, my God. Why am I having such a brain fart?

Speaker 2 (44:45):
One of the richest guys in the world, Jeff Bezos.
What company did he found? Still works there.

Speaker 19 (44:51):
Oh.

Speaker 18 (45:00):
Amazon.

Speaker 24 (45:01):
Duh.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Which winter sport involves sliding stones on ice towards a target?

Speaker 3 (45:05):
Shuffle.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I'm sorry, say it again.

Speaker 8 (45:10):
Shuffle.

Speaker 5 (45:15):
Oh, no, Stephanie.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
Struggle on that one. That was curling.

Speaker 15 (45:19):
Curling.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Looking for curling.

Speaker 22 (45:21):
Curling.

Speaker 18 (45:21):
That's it.

Speaker 23 (45:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (45:25):
It is like a giant shuffleboard, though.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
It is, but that is not the right answer.

Speaker 5 (45:29):
I know.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
Shuffleboard is what they should call it.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Yeah, ice shuffleboard would be great. Well, Stephanie. Awesome.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
I can't believe you stumbled on Jeff Bezos at Amazon.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
That's a tough one.

Speaker 5 (45:39):
When the pressure is on.

Speaker 13 (45:40):
I know, right?

Speaker 2 (45:41):
It's early.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
The good news is for you, we have a new
partnership with Del Taco. So you're going to get a
Del Taco gift card.

Speaker 23 (45:49):
Oh, awesome.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
All right, so congratulations.

Speaker 10 (45:53):
Well, thank you.

Speaker 23 (45:53):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
You got to thank you for listening. Thank you very
much for listening. Hold on. It's time for our 9-11 tribute.

Speaker 7 (46:02):
This just into our newsroom. A plane has crashed into
the World Trade Center.

Speaker 17 (46:06):
Another plane just hit the World Trade Center.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Two planes have smashed into the towers minutes apart.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
This plane flew directly into the second World Trade Center.
We now have reports of a fire at the Pentagon.

Speaker 12 (46:18):
I just watched a plane crash near the Pentagon.

Speaker 9 (46:21):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 18 (46:22):
The entire World Trade Center, the South Building just fell,
just crumbled from the top.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
The building just disappeared in the smoke.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
A large plane crashes in western Pennsylvania. If this is.

Speaker 7 (46:34):
Indeed connected to what has happened here this morning, it
is quite clear that the United States is under attack.

Speaker 10 (46:39):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 18 (46:40):
The second building appears to have gone down.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Yes, you're absolutely right. The second building that has gone down.

Speaker 7 (46:45):
A situation that started bad just gets worse and worse
and worse.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Clearly, we're in the.

Speaker 7 (46:51):
Middle of the worst ever act of terrorism directed at
the United States on domestic soil, and it may not
be over.

Speaker 12 (46:57):
Hi, are you there? Back? Pick up, sweetie.

Speaker 5 (47:04):
Okay, well, I just wanted to tell you I love you.

Speaker 12 (47:06):
We're having a little problem on the plane.

Speaker 23 (47:09):
I want to tell you I love you.

Speaker 19 (47:10):
Please tell my.

Speaker 23 (47:11):
Children that I love them very much, and I'm so sorry.

Speaker 5 (47:15):
I hope to be able to see your face again, baby.

Speaker 15 (47:19):
Okay, Cindy, it's me.

Speaker 22 (47:20):
Listen, there's been a major explosion at the World Trade Center.

Speaker 20 (47:23):
We don't know if it's a plane hit us or what.

Speaker 10 (47:26):
We're okay.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
I'm still in the building. We're evacuating now.

Speaker 17 (47:30):
I don't know if I'll be heading straight home or what.

Speaker 12 (47:33):
But I'm okay.

Speaker 10 (47:34):
We're trying to get groups together now and get down
all the stairs and get.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
Out of the building. She didn't run.

Speaker 19 (47:43):
No.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
Who expected a second play? She put everybody first.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
She didn't run because she helped other people. Today is
Patriot Day. I'm a patriot. Patriot Day. I'm a patriot.
We will never forget 9-11. Just a note to always remember.
To always remember. To always remember.

Speaker 1 (48:03):
Patriot Day was actually started one year after the attacks
on America.

Speaker 5 (48:06):
Never forget.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
It's a day of remembrance and unity.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
9-11, Patriot Day.

Speaker 17 (48:11):
A day we will never forget.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
25 years ago. Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
I just posted right now. on my Instagram, and I'll
try to collab with everybody, but I was doing it
right now, of what we did 25 years ago in
Tucson with 30,000 people.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
It was crazy.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
So if you go to John J. and Rich, or
I'm sorry, go to my John J. Van S on Instagram,
you can see it. I'm telling you guys, when you
watch this video, and Rich, I don't think you've seen
the video since we did it, right?

Speaker 2 (48:43):
I don't believe so, no. It's crazy. I heard you
listening to it, and of course, it feels like yesterday,
but I have not seen it. Good morning, Jen. You're
on the air.

Speaker 15 (48:55):
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 15 (48:56):
That tribute was so heartfelt.

Speaker 21 (48:59):
And so moving and necessary and needed for today.

Speaker 18 (49:02):
I love it.

Speaker 15 (49:04):
And I wanted to make sure you guys knew that.

Speaker 8 (49:06):
And I really, really, really.

Speaker 15 (49:08):
Wanted to see if it was okay to acknowledge and
put on the radio my best friend. Can I give
a shout-out to my best friend?

Speaker 19 (49:19):
Sure.

Speaker 15 (49:21):
My best friend, Sarah, is one of the most thoughtful
and caring people in the whole world, and she makes
a difference in so many people's lives. I wanted to
Give a special shout out to her today.

Speaker 18 (49:40):
Everybody needs a little love and I wanted to make.

Speaker 15 (49:44):
Sure I gave her a little.

Speaker 23 (49:45):
It was on the radio.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
We understand.

Speaker 23 (49:50):
She's just, she, uh, sorry.

Speaker 18 (49:55):
I know.

Speaker 15 (49:55):
I'm just, I wouldn't be where I am without her today.

Speaker 5 (49:59):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Well, thank you, Jen. I'm sure Sarah was like on
tower two.

Speaker 11 (50:03):
Maybe.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
No, it's not. It has nothing to do with nine 11, Sarah.
She's just out there making a difference.

Speaker 6 (50:10):
No, I feel like a day like today just makes
you remember that you have to tell your loved ones
you love them when you're here.

Speaker 5 (50:15):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
Because that's what you hear in that tribute when you
hear people calling from the building and saying, hey, I
don't know if I'm coming home. Yeah. I don't know,
but I love you. It makes you think, you just
don't know when your last minute is.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
And we should do that all the time.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
Ariel, good morning. You're on the air.

Speaker 18 (50:30):
Hi, good morning.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
So I just.

Speaker 13 (50:36):
Messaged your team. Sorry, I'm a little bit emotional today.
My dad, he was a fireman my whole life. He's
retired now. I'm from Denver, and he led the team
of volunteers from Denver that went to the 9-11 cleanup.
He actually led the team when they were coming back

(50:59):
from the return. I'm the youngest of six girls in
my family, and they're was a photo that the news
crew took of me and two of my sisters running
up to my dad that was posted on the front
of the Denver Post when they returned from the cleanup.

Speaker 24 (51:16):
Wow.

Speaker 12 (51:17):
Dang.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
How's your dad's health? Is he one of those people
that suffered from all that toxic air, or is he okay?

Speaker 13 (51:25):
Yeah, so he developed emphysema from being at the cleanup,
and then Some of his close buddies have passed away
from cancer that they developed from the cleanup as well,
as well as PTSD and a whole bunch of stuff.

(51:50):
So I just wanted to get on the air and
just think about my dog. I just wanted to thank
all of the volunteers and everybody that we're thinking about today.
that helped with that. And we're involved in that.

Speaker 18 (52:03):
All right.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
Well, thank you for calling. Thanks for listening.

Speaker 19 (52:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (52:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
Man. That's wild. So many people participated in helping me.
I remember that was such a crazy time. So crazy.
I can't believe that's 25 years ago. That's what pulls
me away. 25 years ago. Oh, okay.

Speaker 3 (52:21):
I'm going to shift gears. I want to make a
total right turn here.

Speaker 2 (52:24):
You ready? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:28):
We got Kanye West tickets. Chance the Rapper tickets.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
Wait, hold on a second.

Speaker 3 (52:37):
We got tickets to Disneyland online in about 20 minutes.
And we are going to get into what Aaron Rodgers
did yesterday. It was all over the place.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
Hold on. Roxy, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (52:48):
You're on the air.

Speaker 15 (52:50):
Hi, good morning, guys. I listen to you guys every day.
Happy Friday. I just wanted to thank you for the
amazing tribute that you've played for I was driving to
work right now, and I'm just in tears just thinking about...
I mean, you know, of course, every year we remember,
but for some reason, like, listening to that tribute and

(53:12):
listening to those voicemails just really hit me because it
took me back to when it happened. I was on
my way to work. I worked for the county in
Orange Probation Department, and I was only 19 years. and
I was like, what is going on? You know, and, um,
got to work. Everyone was like, just everything was chaotic

(53:33):
at the office. And, um, it just took me back
there and just hearing, um, hearing all those voicemails and
everything that happened. Um, it just really hit me hard
this morning. Um, just remembering all of them. So thank
you so much for playing that. And, um, I am
going to go to your Instagram and check out the

(53:54):
human flag you did in Tucson. That sounds really awesome.
I just wanted to share that.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
Well, thank you, Roxy.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
Thanks for listening.

Speaker 15 (54:04):
Thank you so much. Oh, one last thing, John Jay.
The last person gave a shout out to their friend.

Speaker 18 (54:11):
If I could just.

Speaker 15 (54:12):
Please give a shout-out to my best friend, Erica, who
listens to you guys faithfully, too.

Speaker 23 (54:17):
Happy Friday, sis.

Speaker 16 (54:18):
Love you.

Speaker 11 (54:18):
All right.

Speaker 15 (54:19):
Have a great day, everyone.

Speaker 2 (54:20):
You, too. So sweet.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
On Instagram, JohnJVanS, you can see the video of us
putting together the human flag 25 years ago.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
It was crazy. So, JohnJVanS on Instagram. My wife just
texted me.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
She's crying because of our 9-11 post. So now you
can see it at John Jay and Rich on Instagram.
You can see it at John Jay Van Ness on Instagram.
And Rich, did you accept the clap?

Speaker 2 (54:44):
I did. And you can see it on Rich Barrett
on Instagram. It was 25 years ago.

Speaker 3 (54:47):
It was amazing what the people of Arizona pulled together
and did.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
Anyway.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
So last night, you guys watched the football in Australia?

Speaker 2 (54:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:56):
A little bit of it.

Speaker 10 (54:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Yeah. Did you see Joe Bros? They were fun. Yeah,
they were awesome.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
That was cool. They sound so good live.

Speaker 5 (55:02):
They do.

Speaker 3 (55:04):
I said to my son, who's a huge football fan,
I said, I go, I don't think that's, it'd be
interesting to follow these two teams through the season because
I think traveling to Australia screws up your sleep.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
That's the whole big story today is that the 49ers.

Speaker 6 (55:15):
Got there like a week ahead of time so that
they could readjust their schedules and get their bodies.

Speaker 1 (55:21):
On the same clock of Australia. And I guess the Rams.

Speaker 6 (55:23):
Got there like 28 hours before the game.

Speaker 3 (55:25):
And they got clobbered. That's what Kemp was telling me.
And I was like, I go, and I bet you
it's going to mess them up for the rest.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Of the season.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
But because sleep is so important. And then this video
has gone viral with Australian news anchors.

Speaker 9 (55:37):
We're watching some footy game in America. The Rams and
the San Francisco 69ers.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Play some rubbish game.

Speaker 19 (55:48):
49ers.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
That sounds much more interesting.

Speaker 18 (55:51):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
A lot of people might pay to see this.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
That's what we were doing.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
The 49ers.

Speaker 3 (55:58):
That's much harder to explain to your wife.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
I saw a lot of people poking fun at the
football field itself, saying that that was the first NFL
game that has front row seats that are nosebleeds because
it was played on a cricket field.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Oh, yeah. So far away.

Speaker 5 (56:15):
When it would pan out on the drone, it looked
like they were really, really far away.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
From the field. Do you know how big that state,
how many people were there? I couldn't tell. I didn't
hear them say.

Speaker 4 (56:23):
No, I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
But it seemed like a lot. It's a big stadium.

Speaker 5 (56:25):
It looked awesome. I just really enjoyed seeing Brock Purdy
out there because I was like hometown hero. Look at
you go, dude.

Speaker 7 (56:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (56:30):
You're crushing it.

Speaker 1 (56:31):
I love that they call it footy game.

Speaker 24 (56:33):
I know, right?

Speaker 1 (56:33):
That's what I was laughing at. Footy game.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
If you are in the serving business, the restaurant business,
there's a server is calling out waiters and waitresses on
the awkward thing they do when someone is dealing with
the bill and the tip on the table. You know
that little thing, that little toaster thing that they'll hand
you sometimes?

Speaker 11 (56:53):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
They'll hand it to you right there. It's kind of
the way things go. They watch you give them a tip.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
They say that phrase. It's going to ask you a
couple of questions.

Speaker 5 (57:00):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Okay, listen to this guy.

Speaker 25 (57:02):
One of the worst things you can do as a
server who uses a handheld is to drop it off
and say, it's just going to ask you a quick question.
It is so awkward and it's so easily avoidable. They
knew they were going to tip before they walked in
the restaurant.

Speaker 3 (57:12):
You don't have to tell them.

Speaker 25 (57:13):
The awkward part comes later. when they feel like you're
watching them and standing over them as they're filling it out.
There's two simple things I do to make it seem
like not a big deal. The first one is making
small talk with everyone at the table, except for the
person signing the check. The second thing I do is
wait for about half a second when they hold the
toast out and hand it back to you. It makes
it seem like you're more engaged in the conversation than
them signing the check.

Speaker 3 (57:31):
Let me tell you how good small talk works. I was,
it was my birthday last Friday and I'm at this
coffee shop and my wife's sitting next to me and
I order the coffee and I order her drink and
the person takes my order. And says, hey, how's your
day going? And then they turn the thing to tip.
And the tipping options were like 18%, 25%, and 30%.

(57:52):
Those are pretty high options. Now, I'm in San Diego.
Like sometimes when I'm just being, I'm being as honest
as I can. If it happens here in this town-
If it's someone who recognizes me, I always try to
do a bigger tip.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
Right. Cause it bums me out that.

Speaker 3 (58:07):
They recognize me. Right. So my wife goes, she goes,
how's your day going? The lady goes, ask me that.
My wife goes, it's his birthday today. And she, that
she turned the tips thing around.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Well, happy birthday. Hey, it's his birthday today.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
And I'm like, well, it looks like I got to
hit 30. I said to Blake, I said, I said, Hey,
Don't ever talk again with her.

Speaker 2 (58:31):
Don't ever. No small talk. She can't just live her life.
No small talk.

Speaker 3 (58:35):
You ask me to order you the drink, go back
there and sit down at the table while I order
the drink.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
It's her fault.

Speaker 3 (58:42):
30% is.

Speaker 1 (58:42):
That's out of control.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
I know.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
And you know what else they do in San Diego
or in California thing? There's a, you have, you tip
and then there's a, there's a service fee now in
California where you.

Speaker 2 (58:54):
They do that in Vegas too. It's something like that.

Speaker 10 (58:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (58:57):
So then I see this thing was on BuzzFeed about
things that used to be free, but now cost money.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
And number 10 on the list, it's pizza delivery.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
It says, I'm fine tipping, but a delivery fee? So
you have a delivery fee and then you tip.

Speaker 2 (59:10):
It's too much.

Speaker 3 (59:12):
Things that used to be free but now cost money.

Speaker 5 (59:14):
Lame.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
Parking.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
So it used to be that you could just find
something on a nearby street. Now it seems like you
have to scan a QR code for every parking space
on earth.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
If there's anything close to any sort of downtown or
any sort of scene at all, You can't just find
a parking lot.

Speaker 3 (59:29):
It all costs money. Free internet content. Why is everything
that's worth reading behind a paywall?

Speaker 2 (59:34):
Oh, that drives me nuts.

Speaker 1 (59:36):
I'm always like, I can find it somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
I'm not going to subscribe to you. I just want
to read what you're talking about. It's so frustrating, right?
It's so maddening.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
It says YouTube without excessive ads. Now a 10-minute video
can be broken into three breaks. Unless you pay to
get rid of them. The Disney Fast Pass. It used
to be an awesome and free way to skip long lines.
Now it's been replaced by paid options. I knew there
were two rides when I was at Disneyland over the
summer that you could pay for a Fast Pass.

Speaker 10 (01:00:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
And it was worth it.

Speaker 5 (01:00:01):
I remember it was the paper and you'd be able
to go, I think it was like one an hour
or something like that.

Speaker 15 (01:00:06):
Not anymore.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
One a day, maybe.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Checked airline bags used to be free.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
All the concert ticket fees. Buying a ticket used to
be face value. Now when you add in convenience fees,
processing and delivery, it can make the price of the
ticket Double. Phone accessories. This really pisses me off, too, now.
This is not that long ago. iPhones used to come
with headphones and a charger.

Speaker 10 (01:00:25):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Now you've got to buy that stuff separately.

Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
Yes, the charging block. Bring it back, please.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
Isn't that a bummer?

Speaker 14 (01:00:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Do you know, when you buy the new AirPods, you
don't get the charging case for free. You've got to
pay extra for the charging case.

Speaker 10 (01:00:37):
No way.

Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
That's what I'm talking about. How are you going to
use them more than one time if you don't get
the charging case? It's John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
All right, let's see where we are. We're looking for
call 104.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Where are we, Dylan?

Speaker 11 (01:00:47):
What number?

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
You're caller 98. You're caller 99.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
You're caller 100. You're caller 102.

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
You're caller 103. She's so peaceful.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Caller 104 is on line 22.

Speaker 18 (01:00:56):
Okay.

Speaker 12 (01:00:56):
Alright.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Get the magic word list. Do you guys have the
magic word list?

Speaker 19 (01:00:59):
I do.

Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
It's very exciting.

Speaker 18 (01:01:00):
Here we go.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Hello. Oh, hello. Good morning. John Jane Rich. Who's this?

Speaker 8 (01:01:20):
This is Candace.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Candace. How are you this morning?

Speaker 15 (01:01:27):
I'm doing amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
How are you?

Speaker 19 (01:01:31):
Good.

Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
You are color 104 right now.

Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Wow.

Speaker 18 (01:01:36):
Amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
So what we need from you are some magic words. Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
If you got three of the 10 magic words, you're
going to win tickets to Disneyland.

Speaker 18 (01:01:48):
All right, let's see if I got it.

Speaker 11 (01:01:51):
Okay.

Speaker 15 (01:01:53):
The first word is frost. Second word is Christmas.

Speaker 23 (01:02:06):
And third word is mini.

Speaker 5 (01:02:10):
Winner!

Speaker 16 (01:02:12):
Way to go, Candace.

Speaker 22 (01:02:13):
Yay!

Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:02:16):
I'm so excited.

Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
You are going to Disneyland.

Speaker 5 (01:02:18):
It's so fun.

Speaker 15 (01:02:20):
Amazing.

Speaker 18 (01:02:22):
Thank you, guys. I appreciate it.

Speaker 16 (01:02:24):
I'm going to take my best friend and our two kids.

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Good, because you win four two-day, one-park-per-day passes, and you
qualify for the grand prize Disney vacation for three-day, one-park-per-day
passes and hotel at Disneyland Resort. Candice, congratulations.

Speaker 11 (01:02:38):
Awesome.

Speaker 8 (01:02:39):
Thank you, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
You got it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
We had a winner every day.

Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Remember when we first started doing this, people, they didn't
know the words. What do you mean? What do you
mean magic words?

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
Thank you for actually listening.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Hey, the next magic word is today, like in exactly
two hours. 10.05, 11.05, all the way through. Keep writing
them down because then Monday, that's the hard part. You
got to do it today and then you got to
sit on it until Monday because then Monday we'll ask
you again.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
What a weekend, man.

Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
I got to play this for you. Part of this
to me was very funny. There's a family cat that
got thrown away inside of an old couch by mistake.
It has been rescued.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
It was in a landfill. So the couch gets thrown
away and they go toss it in the dump, right?
So now the owners and a bunch of people that
work there are looking for the cat. And this just
made me, the way they were calling for the cat
made me chortle.

Speaker 10 (01:03:34):
For a couple of days, I walked around the neighborhood
holding a bag of treats going, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike.
And having a sinking feeling that the cat was in
the couch when... That made me laugh.

Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike.

Speaker 11 (01:03:47):
I'm glad they found Mike, Mike.

Speaker 10 (01:03:50):
That's going to be crushed and going to go to
the landfill. So, you know, it was... So close to
being a tragedy.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
Sure enough, there was a cat on the edge of
the pit.

Speaker 10 (01:03:59):
Below the pit is about 15 feet to the asphalt,
and above that is about 4 feet.

Speaker 7 (01:04:05):
It took us about 10 minutes to get the cat down.

Speaker 10 (01:04:08):
Just an amazingly happy ending, and I'm so thankful to
everyone who played a part in it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
Mike, Mike's going to be a little paranoid back at
the house, don't you think? Cats are smart.

Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
They remember that stuff. The dance teacher's going viral right
now because of Gen Alpha students. This is so funny.
Do you know the deals going on with Gen Alpha
and passing gas?

Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
So. Apparently, Gen Alpha has no problem tooting.

Speaker 6 (01:04:32):
Oh, that's funny because didn't we just, we just had
that teacher go viral for creating the fart corner.

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5 (01:04:37):
They have no shame.

Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
This dance teacher talked about how Gen Alpha students constantly
fart with no fear.

Speaker 25 (01:04:41):
Gen Alpha's biggest accomplishment has been that they normalize farting.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
It's not embarrassing to fart anymore.

Speaker 25 (01:04:46):
I teach dance to elementary age kids through seniors in
high school and they just rip so.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
Much to the point that they know what each other's
farts smell like.

Speaker 5 (01:04:53):
They're just like, oh, ha, ha, ha.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
When we were growing up, it was.

Speaker 14 (01:04:56):
Traumatizing if you accidentally farted.

Speaker 9 (01:04:58):
Everyone would remember who ripped by accident in class and
you'd be sent to therapy for like 15 years.

Speaker 14 (01:05:03):
So good job to Gen Alpha because nothing's ever that deep.

Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
Everybody farts.

Speaker 5 (01:05:09):
See, I'm like, good job to Gen Alpha, but then again,
I coach high school girls basketball, and they fart all
the time too, and I'm like, down and back, we
are ladies. Say excuse me.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Don't send this generation back.

Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
Don't do that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
I feel like I was Gen Alpha before Gen Alpha.
Because when I had to go in school, we couldn't
wait to do it.

Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
And I mean, Junji, you have no shame in tooting either.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
I do not.

Speaker 5 (01:05:37):
And I side-eye you for it.

Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
Hey, people are still calling.

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
Let me see. Hello, John Jay and Rich. Who's this?

Speaker 14 (01:05:43):
Alexa.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
What's up, Alexa? Oh, go ahead. Oh, you just threw
it over and over again.

Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
Go ahead. Finish your sentence.

Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Alexa.

Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
I think I've confused him.

Speaker 19 (01:05:55):
Hello?

Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Good morning, John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 5 (01:05:58):
Did I win?

Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
Win what?

Speaker 18 (01:06:04):
The ticket?

Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
We already have a winner.

Speaker 19 (01:06:07):
Okay.

Speaker 16 (01:06:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Hello.

Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
Good morning, John Jane Rich.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Who's this?

Speaker 10 (01:06:15):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Hi.

Speaker 19 (01:06:18):
Hi.

Speaker 8 (01:06:19):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 23 (01:06:20):
I couldn't hear.

Speaker 19 (01:06:20):
What did you say?

Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
I said, good morning, John Jane Rich.

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Who's this? Oh, this is Jamie.

Speaker 18 (01:06:25):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
Hi, Jamie. What can we do for you?

Speaker 13 (01:06:29):
Well, I was wondering if I'm the right caller.

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Oh, for Disney?

Speaker 7 (01:06:33):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
No, we already got a winner, but you got to
listen to the magic words.

Speaker 19 (01:06:38):
Oh, really?

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (01:06:40):
I know I have the magic words, but dang it.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Okay. We already got one.

Speaker 18 (01:06:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:06:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
We're still doing it.

Speaker 22 (01:06:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
We're doing it.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Okay. Listen today for the magic words and Monday you
have a chance.

Speaker 18 (01:06:50):
All right. Well, thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Good luck.

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
You think everyone's calling about Disney right now?

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
I would imagine so.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
Hello, John Jane Rich.

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Good morning. Can I help you?

Speaker 16 (01:06:57):
Trying to win Disney.

Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
Oh my goodness. We already got a winner.

Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
Oh my gosh, are you kidding me?

Speaker 16 (01:07:05):
I'm the girl that burnt her eyeball with a curling iron.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
Oh, wouldn't that be great if you said if you
burn your eyeball with a curling iron, call for Disney tickets.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
You got to know the magic words. But we'll never
forget you. But that's burned in our brain. Did you
win anything for that when you.

Speaker 10 (01:07:24):
Burnt your eyeball?

Speaker 16 (01:07:26):
No, I did not win Disney tickets. That's why I
feel like I deserve them the most. You didn't even
put me on the radio. You put me on your podcast,
but I did put it on my Facebook, and everyone thought, dang,
they really liked you. They talked to you for a while.

Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
Hey, that podcast gets a million downloads a month, so
that podcast is more.

Speaker 16 (01:07:43):
Popular than the radio show.

Speaker 23 (01:07:46):
I think so, too, because I didn't know.

Speaker 16 (01:07:47):
I was like, I don't listen to the podcast. I
just listen to the radio, but I had like three
texts from people. My friend's mom. So I'm like, oh,
the mom's listening to the podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
Is that how that works? We've never figured that for me. Well, listen.
Here's how you get that.

Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Listen to Magic Words today, starting at 10.05.

Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
And then Monday, you get your chance again.

Speaker 16 (01:08:05):
No, I do it. I do it every day. I'm
trying to get my son to go to Disney. He
just turned six, and I'm doing it every day.

Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
So Monday. So you listen to the Magic Awards today.
And then Monday at around 8 o'clock, we will ask
you to be caller 104, okay? Good luck, eyeball.

Speaker 13 (01:08:21):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Really be careful when you're doing your hair from now on.

Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
I know, right?

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
So much happening on this radio program. Kyle Payton going
to break down everything in there. Timmy, what do you
guys got?

Speaker 10 (01:08:32):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:08:33):
Aaron Rodgers, he went on Cam Hayward's Not Just Football
podcast and.

Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
Then just decided to dish all these things about his exes.

Speaker 6 (01:08:40):
This is something that I feel like he hasn't really
done in the past.

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
He's kept his private life very private.

Speaker 6 (01:08:45):
So to hear him speaking this way about his exes
so boldly was kind of unusual.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
You know, then I dated Shailene.

Speaker 26 (01:08:52):
And I propose. And she says yes. Now, she maybe
felt like she was forced to make a decision. She
could have said no. Not of of days after that,
she tells me, you know, before you get married, I
got to go f * * * this guy. And
I'm like, because her story is that I ruined her
life and gave her a crazy depression because I left her.
But the actuality is she told me that and then
she took off the ring by March. We had a

(01:09:13):
couple of times where we tried to, you know, get
reunited and nothing ever happened.

Speaker 6 (01:09:17):
I was like, wow, first of all, Shailene Woodley, holy moly,
that you would ask that. And then I kind of
feel like Aaron Rodgers, like, should you be telling us
this information?

Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
Yes, you should. That's incredible information.

Speaker 5 (01:09:30):
Well, that's interesting that you say that, Kyle, because I
watched that video over and over and over again, because
at first I was like, wow. What an insane thing
to say to like the person you're going to marry.
But then again, I kept looking at Aaron Rodgers' eyes.
And if you really look at the video, his eyes
are like wide open. I was like, did you take
a shroom gummy before this interview, Aaron Rodgers? Because why

(01:09:51):
are you blabbermouthing about this? Aren't you married?

Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
Or did they put something in your drink? Which is
almost why I'm.

Speaker 6 (01:09:57):
Like, maybe that's why. Because maybe he wants to make
it very clear he's over his ex. Because he even
opened up about Danica Patrick. He was like, she was
just not a fun person to be around. She was
like super depressed after she retired from racing.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
And there was zero intimacy. It was like too many details, Erin.

Speaker 16 (01:10:12):
Yeah, it's giving.

Speaker 5 (01:10:12):
You ate a shroom gummy. You're in your feelings. And
you shouldn't even be worried about that because you are
already married to another woman, Erin Rogers.

Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
I want to know if that's ever happened before. to
somebody before and they said, sure, honey.

Speaker 5 (01:10:24):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
Go sleep with who you want to sleep with and
we'll get married in two months.

Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
Like, I can't imagine that, but that would be so wild.

Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
If that, if anybody has that story, please call 877-937-1047. Also,
I had heard that the person she wanted to sleep
with is somebody famous. And, On the comment section of
whatever that post is, the internet sleuth figured it out.

Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Ooh, who is it? I don't remember. I don't know.
I didn't look. I didn't look.

Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
I know.

Speaker 1 (01:10:48):
We're all going to have to look at the comment section.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Because we might find out who it is and be like,
oh yeah, of course.

Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
If anybody knows who it is, because the internet sleuth
figured it out and it's up there somewhere. So if
you know who it is that Shaley Woodley said, I
want to go sleep with. Before we get married, please
call 877-937-1047. If you've ever been in a situation where
somebody said to you or you said to somebody, hey,
I want to go sleep with this guy first or
this girl first, and then we'll get married, let us know.

Speaker 24 (01:11:12):
877-937-1047.

Speaker 6 (01:11:13):
Jennifer Lawrence, she's pretty much avoided Instagram her entire career,
but yesterday we told you she finally joined. She already
has like almost a million followers, which is insane. It
may not last long because her joining Instagram came with
a very stern warning.

Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
So yeah, I'm giving it a shot.

Speaker 19 (01:11:30):
And if anyone says anything negative, I will quit immediately.
No questions asked. If anyone thinks something mean, I'll know
and I'll quit.

Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
So she should already quit, right?

Speaker 6 (01:11:44):
Because you know this is baiting the haters, right? There
are a lot of trolls on the internet that probably
just want to see how quickly they can make J-Law
quit Instagram.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Please don't do that because we love our J-Law.

Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
There's been a lot of talk around whether Paul Walker's
character could somehow return for the next Fast and Furious movie.
using AI or possibly old footage. But his brother Cody
says he's not going to be helping make that happen.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
He was like, nope, not like this. Leave me out
of it.

Speaker 6 (01:12:10):
Cody and his brother Caleb famously served as stand-ins to
finish Furious 7 after Paul died. But Cody said it's
not that he's completely against it, but what he wants
is it to be completely up to Paul's daughter, Meadow.
He says, I think that's the respectful way to do it.
I don't think I need to be a part of
the conversation. It should be up to her.

Speaker 5 (01:12:28):
Rhi Ami from Huntrix. She plays Zoe in K-pop Demon Hunters,
and she got real candid on an interview. She even
feels the pressure of Huntrix being so big. No pressure.

Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
It's more like, let.

Speaker 17 (01:12:41):
Me f * * * ing be.

Speaker 5 (01:12:43):
Okay, and then she gets into a little bit more
of the interview and how she really feels about being
a part of such a massive family-friendly movie. Like, I
never saw myself as somebody that kids would necessarily be like, oh, mommy.
I want to be like her. But then like K-pop
Demon Hunters happened. And then this kind of responsibility was
presented to me.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
And it was like either I take it or I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:13:04):
And she goes on. She's like, I didn't sign up
to be a role model. I didn't want to do that.
So when it comes to K-pop Demon Hunters, she's like,
I will be there. I will be family friendly, but
I'm not going to change who I am as a
person just because I'm a part of a kid's movie.
I was like, hey, I get it, girl. OK, well,
it's like it's a cartoon.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
I know.

Speaker 5 (01:13:24):
And that's what a lot of the people are saying.
They're like, well, you know what you got into. And
she's like, right. But I'm not going to dim myself
and who I am moving forward because of this.

Speaker 6 (01:13:32):
I think the thing for her is like that that
may help her in that situation is like a lot
of kids look up to the cartoon character, not necessarily
the person that voices it.

Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
So she might be in the clear. This is big news,
Snoop Dogg. He actually will.

Speaker 6 (01:13:45):
Be hosting the VMAs this year, which is kind of
perfect considering his history with the show goes all the
way back to 1994. Those go down September 27th at
the Peacock Theater in LA. And the interesting thing about
that is this is the first time the VMAs will
be back on the West Coast since 2017, which is like,
that's like Snoop Dogg, right? He's like, I'll do it,
but it's got to be on the West Coast.

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
That dude has kept himself relevant for 30 years.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
He's at the Olympics all the time. I mean, he's
always doing something.

Speaker 22 (01:14:09):
Genius.

Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
Um, it's going to be absolutely huge.

Speaker 6 (01:14:12):
And we know this already because Marvel is putting out
Avengers doomsday.

Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
It doesn't come out till December 18th, but they already.

Speaker 6 (01:14:20):
Have $ 50 million in pre-sale. They say that's never happened
before this early in a movie. So yeah, uh, could
definitely be the biggest movie of the year. Maybe the
biggest movie we've ever seen if they've already sold $ 50
million in just pre-sale tickets.

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Which is absolutely insane.

Speaker 6 (01:14:34):
Justin Bieber, he's got his, his clothing slash, you know,
accessory brand called Skylark and they are dropping the speed
demon subtle. They are not, these are new sunglasses or
that futuristic wraparound glasses that are translucent frames. They're like
a bright purpley red, orange, and blue. It's like it's Bieber.
And if you want to look like Bieber, I guess
you're going to.

Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
You're going to grab the glasses.

Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
I bought every single product that guy's ever put out.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
I can't do it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
It doesn't, Sunglasses are hard for you.

Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
His shorts and swim trunks.

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Are really cool. I have those.

Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
Last month, we lost Hayden Panettiere. And her on and
off again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, has actually officially met up
with the DEA. I know a lot of eyes were
on him because I think he had the reputation of
just being no good for her. But they basically met
together to try to track down the specific drug dealer
who potentially supplied the illegal substances linked to her fatal overdose.

(01:15:31):
So while Brian has not been named as a suspect
or charged, investigators are using his statement to kind of
zero in on who could be involved in this tragedy.

Speaker 6 (01:15:43):
It's good that he's cooperating. He needs to do that
because he was kind of a scumbag to her. DaBaby
opened a new chicken and waffles restaurant in Charlotte, and
people are losing it because the waffles on the menu,
one of them, cost $ 45.

Speaker 1 (01:15:54):
Excuse me? Holy smokes.

Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
$ 45.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
For a waffle?

Speaker 5 (01:15:58):
Is it sprinkled in gold?

Speaker 6 (01:16:00):
It is a soul food waffle piled with collard greens,
candied yams, mac and cheese, and people have complained about
the price, and DaBaby was asked about it, and he.

Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
Has no apologies.

Speaker 3 (01:16:09):
I say they should have went to Waffle House. That's
the first thing I'm going to say. You just want
to know the first.

Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
Thing that comes to my mind. Waffle House has something
for you.

Speaker 5 (01:16:16):
Which camera do I need to look at? Look at
the camera three.

Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
Waffle House has something for you.

Speaker 6 (01:16:20):
If you have a problem with the $ 45 waffle plate,
go to Waffle House.

Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
Don't come to DaBaby's restaurant.

Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
I will definitely do that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Yeah, he says this is supposed to be.

Speaker 6 (01:16:27):
An elevated dining experience and the price tag comes along
with it.

Speaker 5 (01:16:31):
Okay, DaBaby, you are barely out of being canceled. I
don't think you have any room to look into any
cameras and tell people to steer away from your business.

Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Everyone's like, I'll go to Waffle House then.

Speaker 5 (01:16:41):
It's the John Jay and Rich radio program.

Speaker 12 (01:16:44):
Two names.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Four hosts. And a whole lot of fun. It's John
Jay and Rich.

Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
All right, we got tickets to Chance the Rapper. It's
John Jay and Rich, KISS FM. We're going to play
One of Us is Lying. Our contestant is Leslie. Hello, Leslie.

Speaker 8 (01:17:00):
Hi, guys.

Speaker 15 (01:17:00):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
So this is the way this works, Leslie. The four
of us, we're each going to tell you a story.
Each story is totally true, except one of us is lying.

Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
Okay?

Speaker 12 (01:17:14):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Shotgun, I go last.

Speaker 19 (01:17:17):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
So you got to pick one. You got to pick Rich, Peyton,
or Kyle.

Speaker 23 (01:17:23):
Let's do Peyton.

Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
Oh gosh, okay. So when I was in college, I
was kind of on my sugar baby kind of vibe, right?
I was like on all the apps trying to go
on dates with all these old men to get free dinners, right?
And I accidentally went on a date with this guy
and then literally later that night went on a date
with his dad. So I met the son like at

(01:17:45):
a party a couple of weeks before, totally hit it
off with him. We went and grabbed coffee and then
I was like, oh, hey, got to go. Met this
dude up at the bar and I found out it
was his dad when he showed me all of his
family pictures, which was super awkward.

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 14 (01:17:58):
Okay.

Speaker 10 (01:17:59):
Wow.

Speaker 15 (01:17:59):
That actually sounds, but the first part sounds believable because
I mean, you're, maybe you're a broke college student.

Speaker 10 (01:18:04):
Oh, I was.

Speaker 15 (01:18:05):
You know, you're trying to get, yes, exactly.

Speaker 18 (01:18:07):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
Okay.

Speaker 15 (01:18:10):
Can we do Rich now?

Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
Yeah. Leslie, I could have been a multi-zillionaire if it
weren't for John Jay. The year was 2007. We were
emceeing a women's volleyball competition in Glendale. I met, talked to,
got along with a guy who had a new product.
He said, if you just give me $ 5, 000 investment money,

(01:18:32):
you can have 10% of this company. John Jay laughed
and said, those shoes nobody's ever going to wear again.
Those shoes were Crocs, and I passed on an investment
opportunity with my friend the Croc owner, and I am
not a multi-bazillionaire. Thanks to John Jay.

Speaker 15 (01:18:50):
Oh, I don't know. That sounds– I think I would
be more mad at John Jay still to this day.

Speaker 18 (01:18:55):
I don't know if.

Speaker 11 (01:18:56):
That's real or not.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
I didn't say I wasn't mad.

Speaker 18 (01:18:59):
At him.

Speaker 5 (01:19:00):
Okay.

Speaker 23 (01:19:00):
Okay.

Speaker 12 (01:19:01):
All right.

Speaker 8 (01:19:03):
And Kyle now, right?

Speaker 11 (01:19:04):
Sure.

Speaker 10 (01:19:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (01:19:05):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:19:06):
So– Leslie, I turned down what could have potentially been
one of the coolest celebrity photos that I've ever been
privileged to take because I panicked a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
We were.

Speaker 6 (01:19:20):
hosting as kids event we were hosting a super bowl
party and snoop dogg was there and i had the
chance to talk to him and it was like this
is so cool like if you're around snoop dogg right
obviously you have to talk about smoking weed with him
right and i had never smoked weed in my life
and i was like we have to smoke weed with
you please we're like begging him and he was like
you can't handle it and i was like you're probably
right anyways cut to his His security guy actually got

(01:19:44):
my friend's phone number and my phone number and texted
us later and was like, hey, do you guys want
to hang out with Snoop?

Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Which potentially means we could have handled it. And we
freaked out. We were like, there's no way. We can't
handle that. We can't smoke with Snoop Dogg. We will die.
So we passed on it. And I kind of still
regret that to this day.

Speaker 5 (01:20:01):
You guys would definitely have an episode after that. That
would be an emergency.

Speaker 12 (01:20:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 15 (01:20:08):
I think I would have took one for the team.
I don't know why you didn't.

Speaker 5 (01:20:11):
I'm kind of out of here right now.

Speaker 1 (01:20:13):
No, Leslie, no.

Speaker 17 (01:20:16):
When was this?

Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
This was a Super Bowl party a long time ago.

Speaker 14 (01:20:20):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 18 (01:20:23):
I don't know. Okay.

Speaker 15 (01:20:25):
I don't know if I have any other questions, but
I do want to hear John Jay's.

Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
Okay, so today is September 11th. And a couple months ago,
I went camping with a group of guys. And two
of the guys I went camping with were the Navy
SEALs that killed bin Laden.

Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
That's my story.

Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 17 (01:20:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:20:47):
Wait, when was this?

Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
A couple months ago.

Speaker 11 (01:20:50):
A couple months ago?

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
It was like in June when I was camping.

Speaker 15 (01:20:54):
And how did you meet them?

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
I was camping. I can't tell you. I can't tell
you any of that.

Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
Okay. I don't know.

Speaker 15 (01:21:02):
You're not giving me any details.

Speaker 8 (01:21:03):
So I'm kind of.

Speaker 15 (01:21:05):
Scared you i don't know all right so we each
told you a story now one of us is lying
if you get the right person lying you will win
the tickets to chance a rapper.

Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
And you know what we'll even give you a shot
you either have chance or kanye pick whichever one you
want but go ahead.

Speaker 15 (01:21:20):
Okay i don't know i feel like they're all giving
me good details and i feel like john jay you're
not so i feel like you're lying my story.

Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
Is 100 true oh my god me.

Speaker 15 (01:21:33):
Wait, who's lying?

Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
Well, you gotta keep guessing, I guess.

Speaker 8 (01:21:38):
Oh, okay, okay.

Speaker 14 (01:21:39):
Hold on.

Speaker 8 (01:21:40):
Because if.

Speaker 18 (01:21:42):
He's not mad at you.

Speaker 15 (01:21:43):
I feel like he's still not as mad as he
should be.

Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
And then... For the croc debauch?

Speaker 19 (01:21:53):
Yes!

Speaker 15 (01:21:55):
I feel like I bring it up all the time.

Speaker 10 (01:21:57):
Um....

Speaker 15 (01:21:59):
Okay, no, I'm going to go with Peyton because, I mean,
it can't be that much of a small world, right?

Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
Yeah, you would be right.

Speaker 5 (01:22:07):
I was totally lying.

Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
I was definitely on.

Speaker 5 (01:22:09):
The sugar baby websites, but I didn't talk to them
enough to know what their family looked like.

Speaker 2 (01:22:13):
You did.

Speaker 13 (01:22:15):
I'm like, it's all business.

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
By the way, wouldn't that be a bad sugar daddy
who's exposing his family? Like, wouldn't that be bad?

Speaker 8 (01:22:21):
A lot of them, I mean, a lot of them were,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
He's no good at being a sugar daddy.

Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
No, a lot of them were like widows, you know? Like,
they were just trying to find some love.

Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Oh, that's sad. They were old. So, Leslie.

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Chance the Rapper or Kanye, your pick.

Speaker 15 (01:22:38):
Oh, for sure, Kanye.

Speaker 21 (01:22:39):
No questions.

Speaker 5 (01:22:40):
Yay.

Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
All right, hold on to that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:41):
We're going to set you up.

Speaker 4 (01:22:43):
In the eternal battle of morning show supremacy, we are
one of them.

Speaker 1 (01:22:50):
It's John Jay and Rich.

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
How would we need to know that?

Speaker 6 (01:22:53):
Today, obviously, marks 25 years since the September 11th attacks.
They've got ceremonies at Ground Zero, the Pentagon Flight 93 Memorial.
They've also added an additional moment of silence honoring the
thousands who later died from illnesses tied to exposure at
Ground Zero.

Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
So, obviously, every year they read the names.

Speaker 6 (01:23:11):
And so they've added that this year out of respects
for those that passed away afterwards in the aftermath of it.
Now here in the Valley, if you've been on the
202 and driven past Tempe Beach Park, you've already seen
the 2,977 flags out there, one for every life lost.
That's the Tempe healing field and events actually are there
continuing through the weekend. Gilbert has a ceremony around its

(01:23:32):
actual World Trade Center beam. This morning, State Farm Stadium
hosted the annual 2071 Step Tower Challenge. And there's also
like events in Phoenix, Mason, Scottsdale. So there's plenty of
local ways to mark the anniversary without, you know. forcing
a generic national angle. You can just get in right
here in town. You know when you donate to somebody
on GoFundMe and suddenly there's this extra tip for GoFundMe

(01:23:54):
added to your total?

Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
They're getting sued over that.

Speaker 6 (01:23:57):
There are two specific donors that are trying to turn
this into a class action lawsuit claiming that that tip
is automatically preselected and designed to be really difficult to
notice or remove before you pay.

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
And they say, that's sneaky, that's not okay.

Speaker 6 (01:24:11):
GoFundMe says that tip is to help like with customer
service and tech maintenance and safety or security measures. But
they're like, we're going to call BS on this one
and we're now suing you over it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
They should start a site called GoSueMe.

Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
Yeah, exactly. The CDC, you guys.

Speaker 6 (01:24:25):
They're warning about an increase in rabies exposures and outbreaks
since July. So I guess the good news is rabies
is preventable if you get treated before symptoms start.

Speaker 1 (01:24:33):
I know it's like rabies. You haven't heard about that
in a long time.

Speaker 6 (01:24:36):
That's why they're like, we wanted to put out this
warning because a lot of people don't really think about
it anymore. But if you are bitten, they're saying, please
don't wait around to see what happens. Just go see
a doctor right away because they can fix it before
the symptoms start showing.

Speaker 5 (01:24:47):
Once the symptoms start showing, like the rabies has already
gotten through all your blood systems on its way to
your brain. I went down a whole TikTok.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
What happens? You lose your brain power? What happens?

Speaker 5 (01:24:58):
And like you literally become like an animal.

Speaker 1 (01:25:01):
You're like rabid.

Speaker 5 (01:25:02):
You're literally become rabid. You foam at the mouth. It
is really, check it out on TikTok. There's a lot
of information there.

Speaker 1 (01:25:08):
Yeah, and it's probably because they've been seeing a lot
more of this.

Speaker 6 (01:25:11):
So it's one of those, put that in the back
of your brains, good to know, and just remember it
for later if, and hopefully you don't need it, but
if you do need it. Tomorrow, downtown Chandler has a
huge free Hispanic heritage kickoff. It's got live music, folklorico dancing,
food vendors, bounce houses. It's like even live Lucha Libre wrestling,
and it's free and family-friendly, so just something really fun

(01:25:32):
to do. Also, tonight, Gold Rush starts Saturday, The lineup
at Rawhide is Alesso and Deadmau5 with A.C. Slater and
Sullivan King and others. And then tomorrow night will be
Grizz and Martin Garrick. So definitely a good weekend for
music and fun.

Speaker 1 (01:25:46):
And that's what you need to know.

Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
So we don't talk about it very much in here,
but it is freezing in here. It's really cold. Rich
has a jacket.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
My hands are in my pockets.

Speaker 3 (01:25:54):
Kyle's got a jacket and a blanket and there's a
heater down there.

Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
I'm in a t-shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:25:58):
I'm cold, but I have a jacket behind me I'm
about to put on. And Peyton's wearing shorts.

Speaker 12 (01:26:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:26:02):
I have a jacket over my shorts though because it's
so cold. It's It's playing as my blanket. But this
is the first time that I've worn shorts in literally
three years. Because honestly, justice for thick girls out there.
They don't make shorts for us. Seriously. Like, if I
am lucky enough to get them over my hips, the
way that the shorts squeeze my thighs, or the way
that my booty cheeks hang out after, we need shorts.

(01:26:23):
Fit us. And I thrifted these shorts from Banana Republic.
This is the first pair of shorts that actually.

Speaker 6 (01:26:29):
Fit me ever.

Speaker 1 (01:26:32):
Isn't that like Khloe Kardashian's thing with Good American? Like
she's got them for all body types and stuff like that.
Have you tried those?

Speaker 5 (01:26:37):
I haven't checked out her brand. I know American Eagle
has like a really good curvy line and so does Abercrombie.

Speaker 11 (01:26:43):
But.

Speaker 5 (01:26:44):
I was like, I just, I like, I want to
wear shorts that aren't going to like suffocate my thighs.

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
You're not asking for much.

Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
This is the first time you've worn shorts in three years?

Speaker 23 (01:26:53):
Probably.

Speaker 2 (01:26:53):
I feel like I've seen you in shorts.

Speaker 5 (01:26:55):
In like sweatshorts or like comfortable like.

Speaker 10 (01:26:57):
Jeans?

Speaker 15 (01:26:58):
Jorts?

Speaker 5 (01:26:59):
Well, jorts are different. And also, jorts are a problem
because I can't wear the Bermuda jorts, you know, that
style that's in. I have to go into the man's
section because they're too tight on my thighs.

Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
So what you have on right now are ladies Banana
Republic from a thrift store.

Speaker 22 (01:27:11):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
Okay, so then wouldn't you now go, if they fit
and it's rare, wouldn't you go to Banana Republic and
try to find... that same pair, unless those are old,
like they don't.

Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
Make them anymore.

Speaker 5 (01:27:20):
They probably don't make them anymore, but I, I'm not
like you, John Jay. I'm not built like that to wear.
Like when I love one thing that I.

Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
Buy at all, I buy as much.

Speaker 19 (01:27:29):
As I can.

Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
Cause I have a weird body and things don't fit.

Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
So when I find something that fits, I'm on it.

Speaker 6 (01:27:33):
Well, and also thrifted banana Republic shorts, affordable, actual banana
Republic shorts, very expensive.

Speaker 19 (01:27:38):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Then you go Old Navy.

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
What is the other Banana Republic you got? They got Gap,
Old Navy, Banana Republic. They're all three of the same.
And isn't Abercrombie somehow involved in those two or no?

Speaker 5 (01:27:48):
I don't know if they are, but I really do
like the Curve Love chain on Abercrombie. But yeah, justice
for thick girls. Having this coke body ain't easy.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
How do they look on you right now?

Speaker 3 (01:28:00):
All I see is your floating head.

Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Oh, those are cute.

Speaker 5 (01:28:03):
You see how they don't suffocate my legs?

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:28:05):
They fit my legs.

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
Those are cool.

Speaker 1 (01:28:07):
They look perfect.

Speaker 5 (01:28:08):
Whereas usually, they're like this.

Speaker 3 (01:28:10):
Check out your abs.

Speaker 2 (01:28:11):
Look at you.

Speaker 5 (01:28:12):
Thanks, I'm losing weight.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
Wow, what are you doing? Are you losing weight? I
am losing weight. Are you doing a GLP?

Speaker 18 (01:28:17):
Ah, maybe.

Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
That's awesome. Literally, you lift up your shirt and it
was an ab pop out.

Speaker 5 (01:28:27):
Boom, boom, boom.

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
Whoa, Peyton Whitmore.

Speaker 5 (01:28:29):
Look at you. Get in there, sit the athlete body back.
