Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we're going to play a game. We've got
a contestant.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's Abby.
Speaker 1 (00:02):
Good morning, Abby.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
We're playing Noise Machine. Nick's the host. Nick, let's play.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Yeah, let's play, you guys. We started a big Disney
promotion this week. I just got back from Disneyland. I'm
in a Disney mood, so we're playing Disney characters. If
you can guess who the Disney character is, you are
going to get a point.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
All right? Easy enough?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
All right, let's start with John Jay.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
You could not live with your own failure. Where did
that bring you? Back to me. I think that's Thanos.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
We were looking for, of course. Thanos is correct. Good job,
John Jay. One point already on the board.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Richard. That is Donald Duck.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Donald Duck, as he appeared on Hot Ones. Good job.
One point for John Jay. One point for Rich.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Peyton.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
No wonder the Avengers didn't take you. Or the X-Men.
They'll take f * * * ing anyone.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Hmm, that's Deadpool. Deadpool? It is from Deadpool and? Wolverine,
that's Wolverine. Wolverine, we were looking for Wolverine. Okay, nice try, Peyton.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Good job at least getting the same universe. Kyle!
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I hope that you appreciate what I go through for you.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Young lady. Oh, that's Sebastian.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, we were looking for Sebastian. Way to go. All right,
so after, let's hear Abby's turn. Let's go. To infinity
and beyond!
Speaker 3 (01:33):
That's Buzz Lightyear. That's exactly what we were looking for. Okay,
so thus far, everybody on the board but Peyton. However,
she can redeem herself in round two. We'll kick things
off with John Jay.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
That could be one of two things.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
It could be me asleep with my CPAP or Darth Vader.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
We were looking for it. Weirdly, it was John Jay
wearing CPAP. That is Darth Vader.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Sorry. Good job. John Jay walking away with his game.
Two points already.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Rich.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Hey, buddy. You can steal cars. It's bad. Ah, that
is Tom Holland is Spider-Man. Spider-Man is exactly what we're
looking for. Way to go, Rich. Peyton.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
We are all connected in the creative circle of life.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
That's Mufasa.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
James Earl Jones. Yeah, good job. Two James Earl Jones
in this round. Kyle, what do you think about that one?
I don't know what to think about that. What do
you think about it, huh? Okay, well, it's your turn.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Ka-chow!
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Lightning McQueen.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Lightning McQueen is exactly what we're looking for. Good job.
And we'll round out round two with Abby. If she
can get this, she's going to win this. Some Chance
the Rapper tickets. Let's go.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
That is Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
All right.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Good job.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
She did it. Way to go. Chance the Rapper is coming.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
You're going to go see Chance the Rapper. Congratulations, Abby.
Thanks for listening. Thank you guys so much.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Have a good rest of your day.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
You too. Okay. So football starts tomorrow, right? So there's
all this fantasy stuff. And I was very surprised, you guys.
I think you will too when I tell you. How
popular do you think fantasy football is? Pretty popular.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Right?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
You think so? You would think so?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
I feel like so many people in my world are
in fantasy football leagues. And then iHeartMedia sends out an
email yesterday. And I click on the email. It says,
here are these emerging trends. 9%. of American adults play
fantasy football. That's it?
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Nine.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
That's it? I thought if you told me 60%, I'd
be like, oh, that makes sense. Nine percent.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
That's not, that doesn't seem a lot.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
It seems very, very low because I feel like it's everywhere.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Well, what about in this room? In this room, who's
playing fantasy football this year?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Me.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Me.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
I am in four leagues. Are you the commissioner for
any of the leagues? No, no, ma'am.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Somehow I didn't ask to do it, but somehow I'm
the commissioner of two leagues.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
So yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
And we had our drafts over the weekend and I
was literally like, why? I didn't volunteer for this. Like what,
how did I get into this? And now I'm doing
two of them and it's like so stressful, but I'm like,
and then of course my algorithm starts showing me all
of the really fun and cool, like Pinterest-y things you
can do for draft parties.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Which I'll have to do next year.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
But at first when I signed up to do it,
I was like, yeah, it's fine.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It's whatever.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
And then we start doing the draft and it's like,
I'm realizing how competitive I am. And I'm realizing like,
oh my gosh, I'm kind of really into this annoyingly.
So one of the leagues is for my son and
his friends. He wanted to do a separate kids one.
And I was like, cool, I'll help you get it
set up. And then the other one is like with
our friends and their families. And we actually happened to
(05:06):
be with one of the families that are in the
league during the draft. And their kid kept coming over
and looking at our laptop and seeing like the players
we had queued up to possibly draft next. And he
would like go back and tell his dad, they've got
the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Defense in queue.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
And then they picked it.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
And then he would walk over again and I was
like listen I love.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
You but get out of here.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Honestly though I would do that same exact thing that
kid that's how you that's how you try to win
I was like not this time but yeah yeah I.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Didn't want to be competitive about it but it just.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Took over what do you win if you win nothing
none of our.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Leagues have anything but it's just like you just want.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
To win do you have a loser bet payoff no Oh,
my son Jake, he lost last year. And you know
what the bet payoff was? He had all his friends
that are in the group, let's say there's 10. He
had to take his shirt off and they shot him
with paintball pellets. Like how far away did they have
to stand? Very close.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
That's dangerous.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
He was covered in welts. And then so he joined
the league again this year. And I said to my
son Kemp, who now lives at home because he graduated college,
I was like, I need you to oversee his fantasy
so that he doesn't get pelted with whatever the bed
payoff is.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Okay, so he was just in last place?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Yeah, he lost. Because everyone loses except for who wins, right?
I don't know how it works.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
I'm not one of the 9%. It's like, wait a minute,
did he just have the least amount of points?
Speaker 1 (06:31):
I know for years we've taken calls from people who
had horrible bed payoffs. So whenever you lose, so his
team lost. It was like terrible. Or he lost. His
team was terrible. So anyway, so fantasy football players. are
nearly twice as likely to be 18 to 24-year-olds. They're
also more affluent, with fantasy football players being 15% more
likely than the general population to earn over $ 200, 000 annually. Dang.
(06:56):
That's nice. Also, of those that are in a fantasy
football league, those who do play are in three or
more leagues. So you're in two. Well, Nick just said
he's in four. That's wild.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
It's a lot to keep track of. It is.
