Speaker 1 (00:00):
We want to know your weird work rules.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Mickey Ray, good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Where do you work? I am a dog groomer. I
actually work at Petco.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
And we are no longer allowed to wear our headphones.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Because?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Because employees couldn't get along. And it's always kind of
been a rule that we weren't supposed to. But they
let us slide on it because I work in the
grooming salon. You know, it's high stress. And then these
employees were fighting with each other in front of other customers.
And so they took that privilege away.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
What if we had that rule that you couldn't wear
any headphones? I guess that would never be a rule here.
I thought it was going to be.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
Like they were forcing them to talk in makeup. So
you had to block them out by their headphones.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Right.

Speaker 6 (01:12):
The benefit of headphones when you're grooming is that you
don't have to hear the shears and all that stuff.
So you've got headphones in, you're listening to music. It
makes sense to me that you would have headphones on.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yeah, and it just, like, when you have a dog
that's misbehaving or even, like, the blow dryers that we're using, like,
it just gets loud and overwhelming, and it just, it
helps to have something in your ear.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Okay, that's a weird work rule at Petco, where the
pets go. Thanks, Mickey Ray.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Thanks for calling in. Have a great day.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
You too.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Hello, Sabrina.

Speaker 6 (01:45):
So, Kyle found this Reddit thread that was talking about
weird work rules. It's hard to say that, weird work rules.
You have one, Sabrina?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Say it three times real fast. None of the men
in production are allowed to use the front restroom. Only
the women. If there's a guy in the office, he's
allowed to use the front restroom because the production guys
are gross.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Somebody ruined it for everybody else. They got to walk
all the way to the back.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I know who ruined it, and I was like, nope,
it's not happening anymore.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
And where do you work, Sabrina? What kind of work?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Denmark Foods. I'm an accountant for Denmark Foods.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Denmark Foods, huh? What's that?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Yeah, like brats, brats and stuff you buy at Fry's
or Safeway and ground chicken, ground pork. Yeah, but we
do a lot of brats and jalapeno boppers.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Well, thank you for calling in and sharing that weird
work rule.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Thank you. Have a nice day.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Thank you. Good morning, Emily.

Speaker 7 (02:52):
Hey, so my work role is just for me only.
My boss tells me I'm not allowed to talk to
the new people, so they're out of training. Too distracting.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Too distracting.

Speaker 8 (03:04):
Too witty.

Speaker 7 (03:06):
I don't know, but that's just a personal rule. She
catches me talking to them.

Speaker 8 (03:09):
She has to go, this is.

Speaker 7 (03:10):
About work, right? And I'll have to usually just lie.
You're like, I'm just.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Trying to get to know them.

Speaker 7 (03:18):
I'm showing them how to talk to customers.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
That's how we do it here.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
That's a whole other subcategory. What is the work rule
for just you? That's your job.

Speaker 7 (03:28):
Yeah, I feel like most people should get fired if
they have a personal rule, but I don't know. I've
been there for like four and a half years, so
I think they let it slide.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
You're just being friendly.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
And what kind of work do you do, Emily?

Speaker 7 (03:39):
I'm a bartender and server, so you know, you gotta
have a personality. You gotta be fun.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Where do you bartend?

Speaker 7 (03:48):
Um, it's called Rick's on 95th. It's like next to the,
it's like a mile from the Cardinal stadium.

Speaker 9 (03:53):
Oh, just a bar grill.

Speaker 7 (03:54):
A little.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (03:55):
It's pretty good food. If you guys are in the area,
come check it out.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Oh, it's good food.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Like what kind of food? When you say it's good food,
what kind of food?

Speaker 7 (04:01):
It's just regular bar food, like burgers, pizza, sandwiches, apps.
They even have like some like little authentic Mexican dishes
in there.

Speaker 9 (04:09):
Like ceviche, video tacos, stuff like that.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
It's actually really good for bar food.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
All right. Sounds good. You got it. Next time I
go to Cardinals game, I'll pop by.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Yeah, and the first game today for NFL, guys. So
come in.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
I'll be there.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
It's today. You're right.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
Have a good one.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You're right. Thanks. Have a great day, Emily.

Speaker 8 (04:25):
Thanks, guys.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Bye. Speaking of food, Rich, I thought maybe it's time
for food news since you just talked about food and
Rich's new segment, Food News.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
And now, John Jay and Rich present.

Speaker 7 (04:36):
Food News.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Food News.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
John Jay and Rich have Food News.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
What I mean. I think as far as the innovation goes,
nobody is coming close to Taco Bell. And I think, Kyle,
you're going to really like this. They're teaming up with
salt in straw ice cream.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
I saw this.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's an ice cream taco, a churro taco.

Speaker 10 (05:01):
I know, but it's sad because it's not going to
be everywhere for a limited time. It's going to be
like only a couple of the restaurants have it. I'm like,
let's make it worldwide.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
So it's like the choco taco, choco loco taco.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
It's a new take on that. May I describe it
to you to tempt your temptations? Churro ice cream inside
a crispy waffle cone shell covered with puffed rice in
a dark chocolate flavored coating. It's $ 3. 99, and guess what, Kyle?
Next week, available nationwide for a limited time.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Limited time.

Speaker 8 (05:31):
Try Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Yes, well, I saw there was one at the Taco
Bell by my house, and I was like, I'm coming
back for you.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And White Castle is teamed up with the Kelsey Brothers.
They own some kind of beer, and they're doing beer
cheese with everything.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
And it's teamed up with their beer brand. So that
is your Food News. And now, John Jay and Rich
present Food News.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Football is back. It is back tonight. And you probably.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Know there is not a theme for a Wednesday night.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
That's actually very funny.

Speaker 10 (06:16):
Yeah, tonight's like a Super Bowl rematch, right? Seahawks-Patriots. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
It's the same people that were.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
In the Super Bowl last year.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Oh, that's so funny. If you asked me who was
in the Super Bowl, I'd be like... I know.

Speaker 10 (06:25):
I only knew that because a headline popped up this morning.
And then with it was something really cool. And I
think everybody's really excited for it. I guess the Super
Bowl this year lands on Presidency Weekend. So the Monday
after is a holiday.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Finally!

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Haven't we been saying that the day after the Super Bowl?
Because everyone gets together for the parties. And you probably
have a little bit too much to drink and too
much dip.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:50):
I saw this thing that said Miley Cyrus is confirmed
for a Super Bowl halftime show, but it's one of those.
It showed up on my feed, and then I found it.
I looked at it, and I was like, is this real?
And then I clicked on it to read the comments.
And then when I clicked out and started scrolling, everything
after that was Miley Cyrus.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Do you know what I mean? How it does that?
So I was like, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
That could be. I mean, she's got a new album out.
That makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
If she doesn't do the Super Bowl, she'll definitely headline Coachella.
But if she headlines Coachella, then maybe she'll do the
Super Bowl. So I'm like, which one are we going
to find out first?

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Well, if you're her.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
I think you probably sell more tickets, more albums after
Super Bowl. It's like every single performer at Super Bowl
has always broken some records and stuff like that, business-wise.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Right? I mean, or can she do both?

Speaker 2 (07:36):
That would be epic.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
She could totally do both. She's Miley.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
We're going to play Minute to Win It, so we
need a contestant at 877-937-1047. Jen, you've got a weird
work rule.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
I do.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I have two.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
So.

Speaker 9 (07:53):
We are not allowed to have any pens and paper
at our desk because of the CCPA, the Credit Card
Protection Act, because some idiot decided to write down a
credit card number and go buy a Big Mac at McDonald's.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
So you're not allowed to have.

Speaker 8 (08:14):
I wish I was kidding.

Speaker 9 (08:15):
I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
That's so weird. You can't have any pen or paper
at your desk.

Speaker 8 (08:22):
We can't be writing anything. Sometimes there's like five minutes
in between calls and there's nothing to do. We have
no games on our computer. I'm not talking crap about
my job, but we can't do a crossword puzzle or

(08:43):
anything like that because we can't have any paper or pens.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
So you're telling me this guy writes down a number
and you can walk into McDonald's with a number on
a piece of paper and say, here's my credit card.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
I like a Big Mac.

Speaker 8 (08:55):
No, you put it in a digital app.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Still. Beyond me. I know.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
He just ordered it online.

Speaker 8 (09:04):
Oh, he went on a McDonald's app.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
Yeah, I know. Oh, oh, oh, oh.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Okay, okay, okay. I did that.

Speaker 8 (09:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Sorry. I didn't get it. I don't know. That's what
I was explaining to you.

Speaker 9 (09:13):
I was surprised.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
What was the other one? What was the other one, Jen?

Speaker 9 (09:17):
Um, we have to clock out to use the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
That's not cool. Yeah, no kidding.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Unless you're taking like, you know, an hour and a
half in there.

Speaker 9 (09:26):
Someone must have.

Speaker 10 (09:27):
Someone must have.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
I mean, I get it and they don't like, you know,
their whole thing is we're not taking you to the
bathroom and we have two breaks. I mean, get that.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Same here.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Peyton makes us have a hall pass before we can
use the bathroom.

Speaker 10 (09:40):
Yeah, well, because you guys literally go like every five minutes.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
It's ridiculous. That's a lot. Taking a lot of water.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
I worked at the check hashing place in college and
we're in these cages and I remember getting paid hourly
and I'd be like, I'm going to the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I'm going to hang out in here for a while.

Speaker 10 (09:57):
That's where that habit began.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
All right, Jen. Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 8 (10:01):
No problem.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
Love you guys.

Speaker 8 (10:03):
Have a good day.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
You too. All right.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
So we got $ 1, 000. Pat Hickey's money. Pat Hickey's the
owner and the general manager of Peoria Ford. And he
gave us $ 1, 000 to give away.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
You got to get 10 questions. Rich asks you 10 questions.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
You have to get them in a row and you
have to get them right.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
And then you win $ 1, 000. Lauren, good morning.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Hi, good morning.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Good morning. What are you doing right now?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
I'm driving my partner to work.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Oh, where does your partner work?

Speaker 7 (10:29):
She works for USAA.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
And then what are you doing after that?

Speaker 9 (10:33):
I'm going to go get my lashes done.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Oh, okay. Well, hopefully.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
She's going to spend her.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
$ 1, 000 is what she's going to do.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I was going.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
To say, so I might need a couple extra bucks
to afford my license.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
All right, let's go.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
All right, Lauren, let's lock it in. 60 seconds, 10 questions.
Let's go. Whitney Houston's hit, I Will Always Love You,
was written by what late country music legend?

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Dolly Parton.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
What 2023 biopic about the father of the atomic bomb
won the Oscar for Best Picture?

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Pass.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Would you say pass?

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Pass.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
You can't pass. Oh, I can't.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Then I lose.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Dang it.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Question two?

Speaker 8 (11:21):
Oh, my God. Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
You just got to come up with the name of
the movie. It was huge.

Speaker 10 (11:27):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
Can you say it again?

Speaker 2 (11:29):
What 2023 biopic about the father of the atomic bomb
won the Oscar for Best Picture?

Speaker 3 (11:41):
I really don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Shout out the name of a movie because you might
be right.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
I'm not so bad at movies.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Come on.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Out of time.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
Lauren, let me ask you something. You said you're taking
your partner to work and she's with you right now?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yes. Does she know the answer?

Speaker 9 (12:07):
No.

Speaker 8 (12:07):
She's shaking her head no.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
I know.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Looking for Oppenheimer is the name of the movie.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
I would have never said that in my life.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Well, I guess you've got to pay for your own
lashes today.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
They're not on us today. All right, Lauren. I'm glad
you played, though. Have fun. Drop a new partner off.
Thanks for listening. Good luck with the lashes. Thank you.
By the way, I saw this thing that said that movies.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
Like this year, this summer, or so far this year,
is the biggest box office draw for movies in the
history of movies.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
What?

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah. Suspicious. Why?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Well, because things are expensive. What they really should say
is how many tickets got sold, not how much money
they're making. I'm sure back in the day, more people
went to the movies.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
Well, and this is even before COVID and this is
after COVID. So for, for what I heard was like,
you think about, and I was trying to think of
the movie. I was like, Oh, Spider-Man and Odyssey. But
then I was like, Oh wait, obsession made a couple hundred,
500 million. Then there was toy story five. There was
a lot of big movies, the rooms movie. That was
a back room.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
That's what I mean. So it's like, it makes sense
to me. It makes sense. Spider-Man still rocking it right now.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Good point.

Speaker 10 (13:18):
But I also see Rich's point too. It's like, how
many tickets equal that $ 100 million?

Speaker 9 (13:23):
Yes.

Speaker 10 (13:23):
Because now the tickets are like twice the price.

Speaker 6 (13:25):
But if you also go just from last year or
the year before to now, to go from, I'm making
the numbers up, I don't know what it is, to
go from, you know, two billion people, two billion tickets
sold or dollars worth for, I think it was $ 5
billion so far this year.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
That's big. That is big.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
That means people are going to the movies. Whereas before
it was like people, they were saying the movies are dead.
People are going to the movies, you know?

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, if you make movies worth seeing, we'll go to
the movies.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, and Peyton, you just saw Obsession, right?

Speaker 8 (13:50):
I did.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
I kind of wanted to see it because I heard
it was like really good, but also really scary. So
I didn't want to see it. So you're the first
person I've talked to that's seen it.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
Yeah, I watched it on the airplane actually. And it
was good. I went into it with low expectations because
everyone had hyped this movie up so much. The girl
who plays the main character, she does a fantastic job.
And it's definitely one of those movies where it's like, okay...
Who's in the wrong here? It's like you have this

(14:20):
girl who's obsessed, but there's a reason that she's obsessed.
And it's because of her male friend. And he does
this whole little like spell almost on her. And then
everything else transpires. So by the end of the movie,
you're like, at the end of the day, who's really wrong?
I didn't find it scary.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Like, the actress you're talking about, she's, like, getting all
kinds of roles now.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
She's, like, in talks for, like, I think an Oscar
nomination for Obsession.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Like, the next movie, like, I think they're trying to
get her in the MCU.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
Oh, really?

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah. That would be awesome.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
Yeah. And she's like totally taking off. And I guess I,
I came across a video of her when she applied
for whatever role it was. She didn't send in a headshot.
She sent in like a bunch of candid photos. And
then basically they were like, she sticks out. She's kind
of odd looking in the picture.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Her name.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
If you told me her name, that's it. That's it.
She's getting, there's a lot of hype behind her.
