Speaker 1 (00:00):
A Payton. You just you said something that made me
think about something, because you said, we're speaking of TV
shows because you're doing the book club, but you're reading
a book from a TV show you already saw, right, Yeah,
I think you guys watched it too.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
It's actually incredibly difficult. I'm reading the book His and Hers.
Do you remember that show about It was on Netflix?
It starred the actress from Creed. I can't remember her
name right now to save my life, but basically this
there's this couple that reunites, but she's this news anchor

(00:30):
and the ex husband is the police officer, and they're
trying to solve these murder crimes, but it's all starting
to tie back to the both of them, and you
don't really know who the murderer is.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
I do remember, because you literally watch his story and
then you watch her story of the same story, and
then it's like them discovering because this girl.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Is murdered and he's the cop investigating if he's also
sleeping with her? Yeah victim? Right, Okay, go ahead, Yeah
you saw it.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I watched that show when it came out, however, many
months ago on Netflix. And now it is a book
that we are reading in our book club, and it
is incredibly difficult to read this book because I remember
bits and pieces of the show, and so I'm trying
to place them into the book, and I'm almost getting
ahead of myself, and then I'm confusing myself, and so
I'm trying to speed read through this book because it's

(01:21):
low key miserable.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
The point of you reading the book is to have
a discussion with your friends. How many people in your
book club.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
There's like ten of us, but about six of them
don't read the books. They're just there for the babes.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Okay, so when you read the books, you all get
together and you're going to talk about the story.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, we have like espresso teenis or we have brunch
and we just talk. We all come up with questions
that like spark during when we're reading it, and we'll
take notes down and then we'll all discuss lovely.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
So here's my solution. It takes me back to high school.
I had to write a book report once on the
book The Color Purple, and I didn't read the book.
I went to the movie and then my book report
was pretty good until I started talking about Oprah. But
since you saw the TV show. Why don't you just
recap the TV show in the.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Book club meeting and the TV show again, That's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
But it's like friend, she'd be like, hey, man, when
it's cheating when you're in school, when you're just with friends.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
So I'm like kind of really nerded out on my
book club. I have these two apps that I track
my reading on, and I feel like I got to
be loyal to my.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Oh okay, that's I think. Actually, here's a movie out
right now. I think it's number one on Netflix. I
Forget's about an octopus.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, I'm watching my wife's read the book and like
and she goes.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh my god, it's a movie. He kind of watch
this movie, You're gonna cry. I'm like, I'm not gonna free.
I don't want to watch a movie where I'm gonna cry.
I mean, if I cry in the middle of a movie, okay,
but I don't want to go into a movie knowing
I'm gonna cry, just like I don't want to go
into the Michael Jackson movie because I know that Joe
Jackson beats up Michael and I don't want to go
through I don't want to sit through that.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
It's rough to watch.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
That's what I mean. I don't want to do that. So, like,
by the way, is it a good movie?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Which one the remarkable? Yeah, I'm enjoying it so far.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Did you read the book? So you should have done
that one.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
I don't know if I would want to do that,
because I actually read The Housemaid before the Amanda Sea
Freedo and Sydney Sweeney movie came out, And when I
watched the movie, I was like, this movie is nowhere
near as good as the book.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
It's very comforted you read the book. You read the
book before you see the movie. Yeah, that's how you
need to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Probably probably.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
So you're watching Octopus movie.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I just started it.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I'm not too far in. It's okay so far, but
I'm not too far in.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Like, do you remember that documentary on the Octopus?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
I cried in that When I first started watching it,
I thought it was the documentary and then I saw
Sally Field and I was like, this is not a
document My.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Mom kept saying that because she kept walking in and
she was like, that's Sally Field. That's Sally Field. And
I asked her, was like, who's Sally Field? She was like,
that's Sally Field and then left.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
She's in Missus. She's won an Academy Awards, tons of
movies I want. She plays Forrest Gump's Mom. She plays
She's a bunch of movies she was speaking about.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
She's just in a touch. She's a very, very, very successful.
You would say she was an a lister back in
the day. Hey, Hillary, good.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Morning, you're on their Good Morning.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
I just wanted to share because Peyton's in a book
club and me and my work friends are in a
book club also air quote. We call it book club
in front of our other coworkers, but it's actually us
catching up on our favorite trash TV shows and then
walking back together and talking about it.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Your book club.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
I founded more up your Alley.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
That is so funny. I love that.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I would love that.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
I feel like my friends would do our book club
and then watch reality TV right after, Like Love Island
season eight is coming out next month, and we're all
locked into that too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
But so what do you do when your coworkers ask
you what book you're reading in your book club?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Good question.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
We will tell them that it's something small that they're
probably not interested in. It's like for young adults, and
they're like, oh, okay, never mind.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I really you guys, plan.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
A book title for the month, just in case cover
your basis.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
What's the movie coming out? Everyone? The movie with Tom
holland Andy. Just tell people you're reading that now and
then just watch the movie because it's like a smart book.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Well, I mean, it's one of the first ever fantasy
books ever.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
It's not a true story.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Well it was really like seven hundred years b seen.
It's like a it's like a fantasy story laptop. Thanks Hillary,
Thank you for you, Kyle.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I love that idea. Yeah, book, we started off talking
about War of the Roses and will end up talking
about War of the Roses. Was a text here it
says the lady that just called in about War of
the Roses, who attacked Kyle, needs therapy to remedy her
childhood parental conflict issues.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Right, I didn't feel attacked you.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
That's their perception.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
We got different opinion.
