Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, it's time for stacks and hacks. Stacks of
information and life hacks. I start off stacks with the
loudest states. The loudest states. New studies set out to
find the loudest and quietest states in America. They analyzed
the national transportation noise data to determine which states were

(00:20):
the loudest in terms of cars, trains, and planes.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Okay, well, it's got to be Illinois like Chicago.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Vegas.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Nevada.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Nevada. Texas is one, Nevada's two, then California, Illinois, Florida,
then Arizona.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
Oh, really?

Speaker 6 (00:35):
As the loudest? I would think New York would be
on there. Yeah, it's like the city that never sleeps.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
New York is after Arizona.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Connecticut was the quietest.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
All those trees.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
I'm shocked to hear that we're that high up because
literally when my husband, Kadeem, moved here, his favorite thing
about living in Arizona was that it was so quiet.
That you didn't really hear all of the planes and
the sirens and the ambulances and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
That's because you three are in the outskirts.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
That's true. I guess we are a little bit, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I remember you were living before. You had wild pelicans
and whatever running around or peacocks. Yeah, we had peacocks.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Yeah, we were on a county island.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
In your family, are there fast eaters and slow eaters?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
John Jay's the fastest eater I know.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
A new article talked about eating speed and the gaps
in relationships. Like if you're married to a slow eater
and a fast eater, it could cause friction. But only
if one of them is disrespectful about it. My house
is 50-50. Fast eaters, slowly. So if you eat real,
like sometimes I eat and I get up and then
my wife's like, we're still eating. I gotta watch TV.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I gotta watch TV.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
Dire.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
What would cost your employer more? You or a humanoid robot?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Ooh.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
What do you think, Kyle?

Speaker 6 (01:48):
Well, right now, the robots are pretty expensive, so I
would say the robot.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
According to a report, a two-legged humanoid robot in a
factory would cost employers $ 400, 000 over five years. Is that
more than your salary? So that's how they're looking at it.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (02:04):
Solid right, the robot.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Here are some common mistakes people make when they're brushing
their teeth. Not brushing for a full two minutes every time.
I don't do that. Oh, I gotta do that. Not
cleaning their tongue. I do that. And rinsing their mouth
out with water right after they brush. Those are mistakes.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
I learned that one recently. I mean, how do you
not rinse your mouth out?

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Yeah, but you're not supposed to. You're just supposed to
spit and allow the toothpaste to do what the toothpaste
is supposed to do.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
But it's all gross in your mouth.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I know. I don't do it anymore. Andrew Kuberman, I
freaking love this guy. He does a podcast on health
and nutrition and stuff. And he said this thing a
long time ago and I haven't done it yet. And
I think about it every morning. So he says, when
you wake up before you brush your teeth, take water,
put it in your mouth, gargle, swish it around and
then swallow it.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Why?

Speaker 1 (02:49):
And I gargled and swished around, but then I spit
it out, I'm afraid.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
It feels kind of gross.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
The bacteria in your mouth, and when it goes in
your stomach, it's supposed to be.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
Really good for you.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Oh, no.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
No.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I almost want to have him on our show to.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Explain it to me. I know, and I'm hoping that
I heard it wrong.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Because you're brushing all that bacteria that's building up. That's
not good for you.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
That's how you get sick, I would feel like.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I mean, that's why you're brushing, because it's nasty bacteria.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Next time you're brushing your teeth in the morning when
you wake up, just put water in your mouth, whoosh around,
and go, right now I'm supposed to swallow it.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I don't think I could. That's how far I get.
I go to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I spit it out.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I get taken a drink of water, but not swishing it.
You're drinking it. Just straight down the chute.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
So there's this mayor of this town. This is the
weirdest thing in the world. They've caught this mayor in
random surveillance like CCTV walking around the town with no
pants on.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Ew.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
What a creep.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I know.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
It's so weird.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
He's the mayor.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
A couple of different occasions without wearing pants, which is
a very big issue.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
That's unethical.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
So now the mayor is going to retire at the
end of the month. It's in North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yikes.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
It's a weird platform to try to get elected on.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
A man on TikTok was amused when he saw a
man at Subway order a footlong tuna sub and four
chocolate cookies. Then, check out what he said next.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
I was just at Subway getting lunch, and the guy
in front of me ordered a footlong tuna sandwich and
four chocolate chip cookies. And when he got to the register,
the cashier asked him if he wanted a bag of chips,
and he said, nope, I don't need any of that
processed shit. I guess we all have a line somewhere.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Athletes in ancient Greek Olympics competed completely naked. It was
a tribute to the Greek god Zeus. They wanted to
show Zeus their physical power and muscular physique. It'd be
so weird.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
But I get it, though.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Running naked.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Doing things naked outside.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
That's how they were back then. But also, I'm glad
we're not in that stage anymore. I think it would
depend what sport.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
A new poll asked how confident Americans feel about performing
very common actions without instructions. Okay. They are sewing a
button onto a shirt.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I couldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
I couldn't do it. Cooking white rice. That I can do.
I'm a big fan of the rice. I can't actually
ask my son the other day if he can make
it for me. And he just told me, just put
it on. I don't want to do that. I don't
know how to. Changing a flat tire. I can do that.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I don't know how to do that.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
That's a blue job.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Changing a baby's dirty diaper. I can do that. Got it.
So there you go. What do you got for life, Axrich?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
That's fine.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Okay, so we've done hacks here for a long time,
but science says that they're actually simple things, totally simple things,
not like exercise or anything like that, that actually make
your life better, and you should at least do three
of these five things every single day. One, of course,
you know you should be drinking water, so we'll put
that on there. And getting seven hours of sleep is

(05:47):
a sweet spot for most people, but- Here's the thing
that I think that we don't think about, that if
you do this in your life, you will live longer
and you will feel better. Eat one piece of fresh
fruit every day. Change your sheets once a week. And
this one, wash your face with cold water and soap
twice a day. And if you do those things, you're

(06:07):
going to feel better and live longer. And they say
the other thing too is clean up your spaces. Like
keep your space tidy. A tidy space makes you feel healthier.
