Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kay's got three things we need to know.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
We always hear about how bad social media is for you,
and in a new study, they actually found while so
many people feel addicted to Instagram and all the socials,
only about two percent actually meet the criteria for a
true addiction. But apparently just having the thought that you're
addicted to social media makes it harder to quit social media.

(00:23):
Just the thought this is how strong and powerful your
brain is. Because they also found that when people framed
social media.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Is just a habit, they could quit it much easier.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
So just like, just don't say like you don't have
the addiction, it's fine, You're good.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
So your mind is the key to your mind blocking
you Yes, wile I know.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
The twenty twenty six at Winter Olympics will introduce eight
new events, including three ski mountaineering races, men's and women's
dual moguls, freestyle skiing, women's doubles luge, and mixed gender
skeleton team event.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Not really sure exactly what that is, but it's not.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
It's kind of fun in Halloween whom It's large hill
ski jump are also joining lineup, So the new games
are supposed to make it more exciting. They kick off
February sixth, which the Olympics sounds so far away, but
February sixth is like tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Basically, I thought they were going to say they're going
to do break dancing again. We're going to try it
the winter.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
That would actually that would actually make it a lot
more interesting. If you feel like you need a little
boost in mental health and you've thought maybe you want
to pick up pickleball, now is definitely the time check
this out. They actually did a study on pickleball people
and they found those who played pickleball three or more
times a week report noticeably better mental well being than

(01:38):
those who play less.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
So that number three times.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
A week was the magic combination for higher mood, energy,
overall happiness.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Pickleball can make you happy.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
So if you've been thinking, hey, how am I going
to start this new year off right with some exercise,
maybe pickleball is your thing.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
And that's three things you need to know.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
I heard there're more injuries in pickleball than almost any
other support.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
That makes a lot of sense because you probably aren't
stretching before you go out there, so we don't.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
Think it's like an easy sport.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
What's with your injury rich because you were pulled the wagon.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
By the way, I felt so seen watching Kevin Hart's
company special talks about taking off running and tearing his abductors.
That's a good special, It's really Kevin Hart is awesome
in same thing with a sebasion mount of Scalco talking
about hurting his knee too.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
So I feel like I'm in good company.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
But all this break, all I did pretty much was
watch Wicked and go to rehab physical rehab.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So well, you did the acupuncture, you said it, we're paint.
Did you do acupuncture too?

Speaker 6 (02:33):
I did do acupulcture. I thought it actually worked really well.
But I feel like I may have acupunctured something wrong
in my ankle because now my ankle feels all funking weird,
and that's what's hurting me now. I don't know what's
going on.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Like they stabbed a wrong needles somewhere, maybe I don't
know where.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
Maybe it was like already inflamed.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
But I got foot reflexology, and like that is amazing.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
That that's supposed to hurt though didn't hurt.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
Yes, Like the first time I did it, it was
almost unbearable pain.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
But then the second time.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
I went, I was like, oh, whatever they did probably
was to help because it didn't hurt that bad.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Because if you really follow the rules of reflexology, like
you can hit. Like my wife, her feet hurt. She
has be massage her feet, so a massaging part. She's like,
oh my god, that hurts. Where does that hurt? And
it hurt in her reproductive area, which is where she
had the surgery.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Oh wow. So it's like that's that's how it works.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Yeah, my ACUPUNCTURESY told me that I need to yin
my yang. So I've been telling everyone that. They're like,
you're in a good mood. I'm like, yeah, I'm yinning
my yang.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
So just on the yang.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
Basically, I guess he like explained to me what yin
and yang was and how yin is like hot and
yang is cold, and how I'm using ninety percent of
my energy in my brain and that's why like I
get super hot when I'm asleep because I'm overheated. And
he says that I need to yin my yang and
cool everything down. So I'm doing that. I don't know
exactly what that.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Is, okay, but it's a vibe BORDERLEYE started to get
obsessed with this woman. She is a Harvard professor and
I've been seeing and make the rounds on podcasts and stuff.
She was on Huberman's pot cast, Who's on mel Robins podcast,
and she was it's all about the mind and body,
how they're won and how powerful they are. And you
can heal yourself with your mind if you have the
right thoughts. And he asked somebody asked her about acupuncture,

(04:12):
and she says she doesn't believe in it. She goes
because she calls it a placebo, but she goes, but
she does believe in the fact that you are going
to get acupuncture to get better.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
So your mind thinks you're going to get better healing itself.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Ill, the place effect is working.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
It works. She says, the placebo is the most powerful
thing in the world. I think you're getting it and
your body heals itself. It's pretty dang amazing. When she you,
I wish I remember her name was like.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Laura something, But she's this not just not obsessed, just borderline, borderline. Well,
I've listened to two in one interview with her was
three hours long. I listened the whole thing and years
hour and a.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Half and I listened all that, and it's all about
your mind. Langer. I think he's last name, Laura Langer.
She's amazing, like part of you. I listened.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I'm like, many'd be kind of cool to interviewer, but
I'm not smart enough interview. I would not want her
in here. She'd get up and leave. So if you're
offering the interview, no thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Pass. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Like they did the same way. They took all these
old people that were like and there. Let's say they're
like they were like one hundred years old, and they
put them in a in an area that was like
popular when they were in their sixties, and they all
immediate and weak started acting healthier because their mindset, their minds.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Was felt younger.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
There were in an environment of when they played different music,
different TV shows when they were younger, and they just
started acting, they started their body was just different.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I think that's so true that your mind really is
a powerful thing.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Kind of along those lines, but on the opposite how
your brain can like affect how you are.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
There was something I was watching. I think it was
like just an Instagram reel.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Or something where this guy was like they did a study,
and they brought all of these young people in and
they they were like, here's what we're gonna do. We're
gonna put a like a huge scar on your face
and you're going to go out and you're going to
see if people treat you any differently. And so they
put the scar on their faces and he's like, what
happened before these kids left is the makeup ours like,

(06:01):
hold on, I have to touch something up. And she
actually took the scar off, but they didn't know that
there wasn't a scar off. And they left there and
they came back and they were like, oh, I was
treated terribly and there was this car.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
So it's like, your mind really is a powerful thing.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Okay, So here's another study. This lady says she took
a bunch of cleaning ladies from hotels. Right, let's say
there's one hundred cleaning laddies. And they asked them if
they exercise, and then they said no, they didn't have
time to exercise.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
There was cleaning. So they took half the cleaning ladies.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
They said, hey, we just want to let you know
that when you're vacuuming, that's you're doing this exercise. When
you're doing making the sheets and making the bed. You're
doing this exercise very similar to the exercise in the gym,
and they go, oh really, they go yeah. So they
tested put and they told the other group, you're not exercising.
They went back to work. They did the exact same thing.
The group where they told them that what they're doing
at work is exercise, lost weight, lost inches, and none

(06:52):
of them changed their diet. The group where it was
going to work stayed the same.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
The mind, you guys, the mind, mind, wow, the minded body. Actually,
that's this whole This lady, her whole thing is not
about that. They're not separate. They're one, the mind and body.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Well, it's I mean, she's right on time because people
are really screwed up right now.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Seems like, you know.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
All we all need to do.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
That's what it comes back to. Anyway, you can always
text us, text jj R anything that's on your mind
