What's going on with you, Peyton?
Speaker 2 (01:23):
So I have kind of been on my thrifting kick lately,
and I'm really obsessing over this one specific goodwill that
I go to, but it's on a side of town
that I'm usually never on, So anytime I do find
myself on this side of town, I have.
Speaker 7 (01:40):
To go to this goodwill.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Like it's not a want, it's a need, Like I
need this to fulfill my life. And I went the
other day and I didn't get any luck on the clothes,
because I feel like there's just some Instagram batty that
lives in that area that drops off all her clothes
to Goodwill and I usually fall upon that lot.
Speaker 7 (01:58):
But no luck on the clothes. But I found my
way over in like the little book.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Section on Goodwill, and I found two books that were
on my want to read list, and I got it
for less than five dollars score.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
That's amazing, incredible.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I got the book We Were Liars, which I know
is a show.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
It's a really good show.
Speaker 7 (02:19):
I couldn't get into it. When I watched So Dark,
that twist was like, I remember, tell you watch it.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'm really excited. That's going to be a treat. And
then I have where the crowdat scene on.
Speaker 6 (02:32):
Their I watched that movie I thought was lame.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
What's her friend's name? Her best friend that screwed it up?
His name is like Frogger or something.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
Hasn't read the book yet.
Speaker 7 (02:45):
I haven't read it.
Speaker 8 (02:45):
It's on the want to read.
Speaker 7 (02:47):
That's so cool.
Speaker 6 (02:48):
I think who was in that movie that made a
big deal out of it?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I think it was Harry Styles right or something.
Speaker 7 (02:55):
The girl or something like one of them.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
Wait, wait, no, no, what's the.
Speaker 7 (02:59):
Name of the book where the craw dad sing?
Speaker 6 (03:02):
Yeah, no, it's somebody else. It was a big movie.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I was so obsessed with that movie. So you can't
remember who the star wars? I can't remember who? Would
you want to really say? It's so obsessed?
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Then yeah, well, I mean we talked about it a
lot on the ship.
Speaker 6 (03:11):
I remember the I don't remember. No, I was not.
Speaker 8 (03:16):
It was like a big, huge name.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Olivia Newman was that, that's the director, It's Newman, Daisy
Edgar Jones, really, Jojo Regina.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
There was something about that.
Speaker 8 (03:26):
Harris Dickinson, that's it, Taylor john Smith.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Oh, I was thinking of the don't I was thinking
of don't worry Darling with the hairstyles.
Speaker 8 (03:34):
Yeah, No, thrifting could be like there.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
I happened upon a reel on Instagram just the other
day of this guy who was like he found this
like clutch. It might have been at a good will
or another thrift store, and he was doing one of
those things where they were like telling him how much
it was worth. And it turned out that it was
actually like an old vintage Cardier clutch and was like
could be auctioned off for like sixty thousand dollars something
(04:00):
like that.
Speaker 8 (04:00):
He paid a dollar fifty.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
I only had one thrifting incident where somebody's like, I
want what you have and I found it was these
pair of jeans and I think they were from like
the sixties or the seventies or something, because the way
that the tag was. I had the wash instructions for one,
it just like looked really like old imaging and just
the style of the jeans. I'm in the line of
the Goodwill and the lady goes, I'll buy those for
(04:23):
eighty bucks off of you right now, and I was like, what, No,
these are mine.
Speaker 7 (04:27):
I got them for like five I found them.
Speaker 8 (04:31):
Turn it around the time I did.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I wanted the gens you turn it around like without
investing anybody.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
But wouldn't that make you want to investigate them? Like
how much are they actually worth? Because what does she
know that I don't know?
Speaker 7 (04:41):
And I did.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I looked them up because there's like a couple of
pairs like on Poshmart, and I think they're going for
like one forty, which is like a nice pair.
Speaker 8 (04:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Look what's on the news right now? We are so
top of it. Back thrift stores. They're live at the
thrift store.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh my gosh, I feel like they were.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Live literally thrift store. Talk about back to school. While
we're talking about my son Christopher want to go for supplies?
Was a thrift store to get old stuff?
Speaker 6 (05:06):
Okay, so I'm a I like thrift store stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
In fact, I have a bunch of my stuff that's
that's for sale at it's my sister's closet, but it's
called something else well suited.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
That's where my stuff, A lot of my stuff is.
And I like.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
I like when I can borrow something from a friend
or a friend gives me something. I don't like new clothes.
But now this is what just happened to me. I
kind of remember, I'm going currently going through a hiking phase.
When the weather's nice, I like to go hiking with
this buddy of mine. And I bought these hiking shoes
because I googled, I have high arches, what's a good shoe?
And I got I found this one shoe and the
(05:38):
brand was New Balance, and I love that. And I
hiked for a year or so and they started getting
beat up and torn up, and I tried to find
the newer version of it. I couldn't the same version,
So I bought the newer version of the shoe, and
it's it sucks they changed it, right? Why didn't they
do that?
Speaker 6 (05:52):
So I was like, damn it.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
So I was sitting there bored online one day and
I was like, I wonder if I could find just
one of the like stock acts or something has it.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
So I found my shoe on the I can't remember
the bummers. I can't remember what apple was on.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
But I bought the shoe and they came in the
mail and they were wrapped in plastic, and I was
like sweet. So I'm going away to go a couple
of days. I'm going to go on a hike with
some friends. So I'm we're in a cooler area. I'm like,
I better try on these shoes. And they're wrapped them plastic.
So I get the shoes out and I rip up
in the plastic and they look a little different because
(06:26):
they're used.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
They had like dirt on them and stuff.
Speaker 8 (06:29):
The sentime.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
I didn't know of buying used shoes. Now, I don't
have a problem.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Like I said, I like thrifting, but I was mentally
prepared for a new shoe right And and then when
I put them on, they were so comfortable, and they
were like broken.
Speaker 6 (06:43):
It was like there's dirt on the bottom, there's dirt
on the side. Yeah, And I was like what, I
think they attempted to clean them, but they didn't take them.
But I didn't know I was buying a used shoe.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Like you're going hiking, we have he spoke to these
for your hiking.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
I'm sittter thinking, I hope I paid a low for them.
I don't remember what I paid. I just know I
wanted the shoes, but I also did it two months ago,
so I don't know. Yeah, so it's like I can't
I can't like track them down. Yeah, but speaking of goodwill,
this is very important. Uh So, I guess a good
(07:18):
Will in Tucson had to evacuate because someone donated a grenade.
It was not real and no one was in danger.
But now things, a list of things are going viral.
The Goodwill doesn't want. Besides grenades, Okay, there's things they
don't want. They don't want old newspapers. They don't want encyclopedias.
They don't want oxygen tanks for scuba diving. They don't
(07:40):
want propaying tanks. They don't want built in appliances like dishwashers.
They don't want tires. They don't want office cubicles. They
don't want construction materials. They don't want hot tubs. They
don't want water beds. They don't want carpeting. They don't
want chemicals in paint. They don't want bowling balls, they
don't want wet stuff, and then number one thing, they
(08:01):
really don't want broken stuff. Yeah, all right there, that's Hey,
you got a cool thrifting story. She was a text
text JJR. Whatever your thrifting story is the nine six
eight ninety.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Three, Get up, Jess. Hello, thanks for holding what's up?
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Hi?
Speaker 6 (08:18):
What's on your mind? What do you want to talk about?
What do you want to get into? How can we
help you?
Speaker 9 (08:23):
One of my coworkers has started greeting me every single
morning with like, hey twin, and I cannot even explain
to the level of irritation it causes me.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
Hey queen, No, hey twin, Hey twins, Oh, hey twin.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Okay, how aren't you alike in what ways are you different?
Speaker 10 (08:44):
We're just different in like literally every way. Like I
don't have the same hair as her. I don't even
have the same outfit. I think one time we wore
the same colored shirt. And that's where this is coming from. Yeah,
not the same face, No, not the same vibe, not
any sort of any sort of twenty thing happening between us.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Wild because like if you say anything in protest, then
you're a jerk, so you have to.
Speaker 10 (09:09):
Get Yeah, I feel like I like, I literally can't
just go like like I'm not I'm not a twin
and you're an ugly match.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
But yeah, that would come off as slightly mean.
Speaker 10 (09:27):
Yeah, but I don't know. I'm just like slightly losing
my mind. And every day when I come in and
she's like, twin, where have you been? I lose another
piece of myself And like the worst part is, I know,
I know I can't say anything like I know I
can't be like, can you please stop calling me that?
Speaker 11 (09:47):
It feels visually disrespectful?
Speaker 6 (09:52):
You know what, It's slang. It doesn't mean that you're
her twin. It's slang maybe like makes you want slang
being a friend.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Dutch, my son Dutch tells me that that's what happened
on the basketball team all the time.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Am I right?
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Like hate twin? Like I get, But it's like someone
that I would be in my feelings.
Speaker 12 (10:17):
I would be.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
If someone is like low key a little busted and
they're like, hey, like what do you trying to say
about me?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Literally literally I feel like if I if I go, hey,
hey dude, Hayton, Uh, what time you guys go to
the game and be like, don't call me dude.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
I'm not a dude. I know, it's just slang.
Speaker 7 (10:34):
It's just like that.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Yeah, it's like, hey, Twin, It's like it's like hey Bessie,
hey girl. Like, it's definitely like that. But I can see,
I can see where.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
You're she's taking it to the literal.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, you're taking it too literal. Like, I think she
probably think Kyle's right. She probably just wants to be
your friend. She probably thinks.
Speaker 7 (10:49):
You're really cool, really cute, really fun and just wants
to build that connection.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Meanwhile, Chess is dying inside just a little bit every time.
Speaker 10 (10:57):
Every time, I'm just like, I understand the rational part
of me is agreeing with you guys. So like every
time I hear it, it's just like I like grit
my teeth and I'm just like slowly dying. And honestly,
I'm I'm one hates went away from filing an HR
complaint from Oh, don't do that.
Speaker 7 (11:14):
No, you just need to write it out and just
be nice to her.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
I'm sure joy when I find ugly people that look
like rich and I take pictures of them together and
I'll say it's Rich's brother.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
That's one of my favorite things to do in the world.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
And honestly, the resemblance is kind of close sometimes.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
And am I going to say, you know, there was
a guy we used to work with in Tucson and
everyone his name well, I don't want to say his name,
but he looked like me, but he was heavier than me.
And he was extremely gay, right gay John Jay. He
was a gay ju je and I at one point
wanted him to go. He would go out to place
he would get free meals and stuff, but he died.
(11:55):
I know, it's sad, but I love that guy. And
I would be like, hey, can you go here for me?
Speaker 7 (12:00):
You would be like, hey, Twin, can you go here?
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Hey Twin, Hey Twin, I don't care how fun boy
you are. I need you to be got him appearance
in this place and tell me me remember that guy.
Speaker 6 (12:10):
He was great, He was precious, he was nice.
Speaker 8 (12:13):
Do you remember your friend that you called successful Rich Para?
Speaker 13 (12:15):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (12:15):
Yeah, yeahs he was great, very successful.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
This guy's way more successful lower year too. I would
talk to him in a while. I'll probably see him
this summer. Yeah, successful Rich Para is great.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
You know, just recently. I brought that up, and my
wife's like successful rich par she wants to meet him.
She asked so many follow up questions, like she never
does that?
Speaker 8 (12:48):
Does he hang out around here?
Speaker 11 (12:52):
Right?
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Jess? Thanks for calling it, Jess, have a great day.
Speaker 10 (12:55):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Peyton's gonna bring something up, and I don't know why,
but I have this whenever Peyton brings something up, I
want to present this song.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
I want this to be like Peyton's theme. Hey, Like
I'll be like, hey, Payon's got something.
Speaker 14 (13:22):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I'll think it Pyen's place.
Speaker 14 (13:26):
Well.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
No, I was scrolling on Instagram and I found out
that gen Z has a new travel vocabulary and I
was like what, And it's genius, Like mic rotation a
short getaway lasting anywhere from twenty four to seventy two hours,
and you just design it to like fit your everyday life.
Speaker 7 (13:44):
Then like an actual big vacation, so we can get away.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
We can get away, but it's a microm gen Z millennial.
We can get away.
Speaker 7 (13:52):
Yes, okay, we all know room rotting, right like you
like no roting. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
It's like when you travel but you don't really have
an agenda to like say you go to like a
beach town, but you just want a room, rode all
day and look from the beach from your windows.
Speaker 7 (14:06):
Okay, yeah, like a vacationing.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Most people go vacation and then actually get out of
their hotel room.
Speaker 6 (14:15):
I started the.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Canon event, a spontaneous moment that becomes more memorable than
anything that you actually plan.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
What is it?
Speaker 7 (14:24):
A canon event?
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Canon becomes part of the story of your life, one
of those.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Things that happened, but like that you didn't think was
gonna happen. You're talking about at two am. It's like,
oh my gosh, there's no way I need an example.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
I don't understand.
Speaker 7 (14:38):
A cannon event would be like a spontaneous moment.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Anything you act literally Rich and Stacey running into Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
There, go to a wedding somewhere and bump into Okay that, like,
so it was there. You were there for something, an event,
and meanwhile it's all about Travis and.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Could be also that you go somewhere they're shooting off
cannons event.
Speaker 7 (15:02):
That's awesome. Yeah, that's that's possible. Okay.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
D influenced travel, choosing destinations that feel personal rather than
places made famous by social media.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
So you go somewhere that's like near and dear to your.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Heart, like the way that you should go to Ireland
because my name is Ireland exactly.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
But you're not doing it for them.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
You're going to you're going on vacation because that's where
you want to go to vacation.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
You can't can't even consider that, Like why do we
go somewhere that we can't?
Speaker 7 (15:26):
We can't what d influence travel.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
What we call normal travel.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Mirror trip, which is a trip planned around your personality,
your interest, your identity, rather than like a traditional checklist.
So if you like to go thrifting or you like
to do things like that, you will go specifically to
a town where they're known for their thrifting or something
like that.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
Are there towns known for thrifting? Yeah, like New York.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
There's a couple of pl Like there's a magazine street
in New Orleans that's huge for thrifting. I'm sure there's
some spots okay in San Diego, Okay. A y cation
a trip inspired by a feeling or mood rather than
like a specific destination. So it's like I wasn't looking
for a place, I was looking for Peace.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
So that's like going to mirror Ball or something like
that where you go to get away. There's this other
place I've heard about, Castle Springs, Hot Springs, Yes, yeah,
have you heard of that place? Yeah, I've talked to
two people recently have been there.
Speaker 11 (16:24):
What do you do?
Speaker 6 (16:25):
Just jump in the They have like hot spring, but
they have stuff that's like what Peyton's talking about.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Yeah, and it's like you either have to like helicopter
in or ride a long time on a dirt road.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Yeah, that's funny exactly, That's exactly what was described to me.
And they told me the dirt road drive is miserable.
And you'll see why everyone helicopter's in. I'm like, how
do you just helicopter in? Where do you go get
a They make it seem like it's just a cab service, right,
like where do you go get a helicopter?
Speaker 8 (16:48):
Just grab a helicopter like an uber.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
You got a helicopter in.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
We have a lot more customers if they put in
a decent road.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
Well, yeah, someday I'll go your ykation.
Speaker 7 (16:57):
Okay, local lore hunting.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
So you're on the everyday side of a destination from
the neighborhood markets to local hangout. So it's skip the
tourist traps. Let's go where the locals go. So you
go to like Paris and you ask a local where's
the spots that I go? And you skip all the
touristy stuff.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Okay, So the thing is with that that sounds like
something again people have always done. Now you're just putting
labels on it now. Yeah, local because like when we
were in we where was I and we went to
the places? Oh yeah, we were in Sanday. We were
in del Mar a while ago. In del Mar and
we're walking or standing around by the place where at
and someone told my wife about a little place in
a neighborhood. They turned the house into a cafe. Nobody
(17:32):
knows about it unless you live in that neighborhood.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
And it was passed.
Speaker 7 (17:35):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
So that's called what that is called local lore hunting.
This one's my favorite menty b travel trip. A trip
where you go because you're overwhelmed and desperately.
Speaker 7 (17:45):
Need a break. It wasn't like a vacation, it was
just because you had.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
A mental health too.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
You have to for your mental health to go on
this trip. Then you have side questing, which we know.
It's like you go on another trip. Within the trip,
you have an anti and tinerary trip, which is where
you travel.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
With a little to no schedule.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
You just love that. That's my favorite dry tripping.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Which is choosing rest, nature, meaningful experiences.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
Over night life. So there is your gen Z travel list.
Speaker 8 (18:13):
It's very long, Like you know, do we need all
those terms?
Speaker 1 (18:17):
No?
Speaker 5 (18:17):
No, you are people actually using those terms like pop
were saying t travel a couple of times.
Speaker 6 (18:24):
Okay, the side trip, the side trip?
Speaker 8 (18:28):
Would you call that?
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Quests called?
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Yeah? Side question? Okay? When I was in college, I
went with to my buddies.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
We backpacked through Europe and one of the things we
did is you have your home base and then we
go on these day trips.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
If one of my friends we're gonna go side quests,
what are you talking about? It's like, why are you
making names? Is like we need names.
Speaker 7 (18:48):
We're doing everything.
Speaker 6 (18:50):
I guess, so well, thank you. Peyton went more today.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Peyton's segment music which I Jane rich on one O
four seven Kiss have.
Speaker 7 (19:02):
Wake Wake you up.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
It's time for sex and acts.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
I have stacks of information and rich has life hacks,
so I brought this up at dinner last night with
my kids, and I forgot the subject matter. I was
talking about the number one video game of all time, right,
and they started within seconds thrown out in titles. I
knew the answer, but it turns out I got the
subject wrong. So they put together a list of the
(19:33):
Oh this I was wrong.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
This is true.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
I thought it was the music of the video game.
I thought it was, Hey, what's the number one music
of video game of all time? Turns out what is
the greatest video game of all time?
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Greatest video game of all time of all time?
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Probably like something with the Mario University Classic, Super Mario Brothers,
Super Mario World.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
I feel like, you gotta you gotta add the modern
stuff like Fortnite on there too. Okay, that's been going.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
To hold on, hold on Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto is
number fifteen, Tetris is twelve, Super Mario Galaxies eleven, Red Dead,
Redemption two is number ten, Resident Evil four, Portal two.
Number five is the Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild.
Number three is Super Mario Brothers. Number two is Minecraft.
(20:23):
The number one best video game of all day of
all time is called the Legend of Zelda.
Speaker 6 (20:30):
Anyone knows the rest of what it's called. Legend of Zelda?
Speaker 7 (20:32):
What no, No, I just know Zelda, Zelda.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Oh Karina of Time from nineteen ninety eight. I don't
know it, never played Zelda.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
I like Zelda.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Police in Mexico are searching for a mystery vigilante that
locals have nicknamed Mexican Batman or last few weeks, five
motorcycle thieves have been found duct tape to light poles
with stolen motorcycles parked nearby. Some even had the word
thief written across their forehead before you starts ordering a cape.
Police are reminded of when that people found tied up
(21:04):
were still considered victims, so officers believe more than one
person may be involved. A real Batman. Did you guys
hear this crazy Weymo story. I've told this story a
couple of times. I saw it a couple days ago.
So two teenagers got it in a weymoth, Yes, and
they started like pulling pranks on people.
Speaker 6 (21:20):
I saw this right, So do you know the story?
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Coppen?
Speaker 6 (21:22):
The Weimo locked the doors and drove to the police station.
Speaker 7 (21:26):
Yep.
Speaker 8 (21:27):
What pranks were they playing?
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Like?
Speaker 8 (21:28):
How did the Weimo know they were doing pranks.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
They say what they were doing.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
So they were in the WEIMO they were like fifteen
sixteen year old boys. They're like drinking, they're hitting their
vapes in the back of this car, and they had
like the fake water guns and like spray painted them.
So they're rolling down the windows and shooting out the
cars with water guns, and WEIMO reported it called the police.
Police surrounded and it was this whole thing, and they
basically were like, make sure that you're watching your kids,
(21:53):
because sometimes people they only see a quick glance of
something and they see what they think.
Speaker 7 (21:59):
I'm on shooting out of a window is bad news.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Officers surrounded the vehicle detain both teams. WEIMO says it's
vehicles have interior cameras and in urgent situations, employees can
access live video doing a ride, which means they might
take it. I mean 'd be cool the WAYMO Headquarter
take that car too. I would just do it for fun, randomly.
Speaker 8 (22:17):
Imagine if it was real. WEIMO doesn't want to drive
by shooting on them.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
What's the biggest mistake you can make on a date
using the wrong name. That's good enough paying for it
if you're the person that you're The top three biggest
mistakes up there you can make on a day, according
to the Hoveting Post, going to dinner on a first date.
It I can feel like a long interview, so skip it.
Try mini golf, hanging out at a farmer's market, or
even wandering around IKEA. Those are fun, low pressure, and
good distraction. Turning the conversation into a one person podcast,
(22:45):
which means you have to ask questions and then listen.
Biggest mistakes Number one trying so hard to impress someone
that you forget you're also deciding if you don't like them.
It's not about getting picked, it's about figuring out there's
enough of a connection for date.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
Number two.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
The most popular boy names in nineteen seventy six were
Michael Jason, Christopher James.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
And David Strong, all of them good. The top five.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Girls names were Jennifer, Amy, Melissa, Heather, and Angela. Out
of all those names, only James has stood the test
of time. It was number six last year. Really the
rest gone. No one names their kid any of those names.
When you were younger, did you make fun of old
people doing old people things? Of course, now there's a
(23:31):
list floating around of old person habits that millennials used
to mock, but now they realize they're amazing.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Massaging your own feet, Oh my.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
God, my dad used to do that all the time,
and now I find myself doing it, he said, make
fun of my dad.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Why are you working on your socks so much? I'm
asashing my feet up? But stand out all day.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
Going to bed earlier is number one.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
That's the listening to music at a normal volume, getting
off social media, not wasting anything, staying home on weekends,
eating an earlier dinner.
Speaker 6 (24:01):
Nothing is better than going out for a five pm dinner.
It says no.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
That last week we went on like a four to
thirty pm date. It was awesome.
Speaker 6 (24:10):
This part I don't agree with. This is number one.
What I'm about tell you number one on the list.
It's an old person have it. It says.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Someone says that when they were a teenager, they used
to mock these people, and now it's their favorite thing
to do. I don't mock these people. Sometimes I wonder
how these people do it, because I can't do this.
But it's running.
Speaker 6 (24:27):
Running.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Running is something that old people do that everyone likes
to go do. Running is crazy sometimes I have so
much respect for people that run. I saw a woman
this morning, I'm driving into work and she's running. I'm like, hey,
is her problem?
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Are you okay, ma'am?
Speaker 6 (24:42):
You're such good shape. It's so good for you, I think.
But anyway, what do you got rich for life? Hacks?
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Well, I'm gonna save you so much money. I hope
you guys try I hope people in this room try this,
because I have in the past spent a lot of
money on those little car things that make your car
smell good air fresh air, yes, but they're no good
for you because they're full of chemicals. So and they're expensive.
So here's what you do.
Speaker 11 (25:05):
Now.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
It might sound a little a touch ratchet, but put
it in the back seats so nobody sees it. What
you do is you get a wood clothes pin and
you put some essential oil on it, about five drops.
That'll last you a month essential oil. The whole thing
will cost maybe five bucks if you're overspending, but that
will last you a year and a half. I believe
it if you just kind of reapply it onto the
(25:28):
wooden clothes pin and they say, put it in your
back seats. So people that get in the front seat,
can still smell it, but they don't make fun of
you for having a bunch of clothes pins.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Problem.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Only problem for me is I'd have to go to
my grandmother's house to find a wooden clothes pin, which
we having a laundry in the backyard on one of
those wires.
Speaker 5 (25:44):
Oh, I would probably put it on the ground because
I had like an essential oil air freshener that you
hang from your rearview mirror, and some of the oil
actually dripped out onto like my middle console thing, and
it like the oil literally like it looks like a
burn in it, like you can see it was like
a circle. No, the plastic of the middle console thing.
(26:05):
Oh wow, Yeah, it totally ruined it, Like it's unfixable.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Well, they say, do these on these clip these on
the air vents in the back because the wood of
the little closeman will absorb it, so it shooting'tlyk all
over the place. But sticking on the vent in your
back seat. That life hacked. Many more can be found
in John Jay Enriched dot com.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
Oh God, I like you, Brooklyn. Good morning you're on
the air.
Speaker 9 (26:32):
Good morning, Hi, Hi, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Well, so my friend texted me and she's get drifted.
I need a plus one. So I'm like, okay, I'm
always grass for some spontaneous fun. You know, I'm always
down for a good time. So we met up at
this We were at this fancy rooftop bar and it
was a company party and an open bar.
Speaker 9 (26:58):
We're having a great time, and I asked.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Her, is this your work party? And she's like nope.
So she had gotten added to some email list and
she kept rsvting to these fancy parties, and you know,
we just we just tried to blend in, tried to
act like we belonged there. But then we eventually got
(27:22):
caught because the CEO came up to her and she
congratulated him on a position that he never got. So yeah,
so then they knew that we didn't belong there. But
you know, it was a fun side quest to get
kicked out in a polite sort of way, not like forcibly,
but like, okay, you guys shouldn't be here. So we
(27:43):
just kind of blunk out. But we had a lot
of drinks before that, so.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
She got I mean, she got invited. I mean, yeah,
so wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
It was fun while it lasted.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
There are places sometimes that you get invited to and oh,
for me at least, I feel like I don't belong.
In fact, just this last weekend when I was a
flag staff at that place where we rented a cabin
and saved this place and we had access to all
this stuff, and I felt like, I'm not.
Speaker 6 (28:11):
Supposed to be there.
Speaker 8 (28:12):
Yeah, I was like, how did you get that?
Speaker 6 (28:13):
Oh? Even you said that to me, right, you said,
how did you.
Speaker 7 (28:17):
Stand that place?
Speaker 8 (28:18):
Are you allowed to stay in that place?
Speaker 6 (28:19):
And walking around everywhere I went, I'd be like, hey,
can I go in there?
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Yeah, no problem, And I'm like, really like I was,
I was supposed to be there, but I felt like
I'm not supposed to.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
That's a pretty good bit for us. Where were you were?
You totally weren't supposed to be.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
One time I got in, I got invited. When I
first started radio, I got just like what she's talking about.
It was it was junk mail. I guess it was
a male. It came to the radio station I worked at.
I didn't have anybody's name on it, and opened up
and it was an invite to a comedy show. Oh god,
I can't remember what was the name of the comedy
show that Rob Williams hosted with Billy Crystal and Woopie
Goldberg Comic Comic Relief, Comic Relief. So it was a
(28:54):
big telephone with these huge comedians. So I got this
ticket and I was like, I'm gonna go. It was
in LA and I was living in Sant Diego, so
I went and picked up my sister and her and
I went and had access to everything. We met all
these comedians that Drew Carey, I took a selfie with
Drew Carrey. I did all this stuff, and I felt
like I didn't belong there, but I had all the
credentials to be there. And so I always feel like
(29:14):
I don't belong my Phoenix Sun's tickets. Every time I
go sit in my son's tickets, I feel like I'm
gonna get kicked out. They are my tickets, but I
can't help. But I have this what do you call that,
This's gotta be a complex, poster syndrome, imposter inperiority complex.
I have that too.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
I am all of it.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
But anyway, but you got the invitation and the CEO
congratulated you guys. All right, well, thanks for calling in
and sharing that.
Speaker 10 (29:41):
Story books are You're welcome, Thank you.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
I have a great day, all right you too, one
O four to seven Kiss FM. John J. Ridge, Hello Morgan, Hi,
what's up here on there?
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Uh?
Speaker 15 (29:57):
So I went to this wedding where where they had
one of those digital photo booths that text you your pictures. Okay,
So the bride accidentally sent the access link to the
entire guest list instead of just.
Speaker 16 (30:11):
The bridal party.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (30:15):
So everybody started scrolling through like a lot of the
photo strips and it was like hundreds, and we realized
that one of the groomsmen had been taking secret pictures
with different girls, like all night and using the same pose,
and they were picture of him and like twelve other girls,
and some of them were bridesmaids.
Speaker 16 (30:35):
And some of them were regular guests.
Speaker 11 (30:36):
But like we it was so crazy.
Speaker 15 (30:39):
We started calling it his engagement shoot, and we sent
them to him to like press them on it, and
all he said.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Was that he didn't even remember the whole night, as.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Alloto photos will expose you the day after though.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Like you've seen Walk of shame, Like what what have
you seen?
Speaker 7 (31:02):
Like you see a whole, but like you can see
a whole but I okay.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
So actually one of my side gigs I work for,
like a photo booth company, right, will go to weddings.
I cannot tell you how many times I've seen rides
kiss groomsmen.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
Oh yeah, was super awkward.
Speaker 6 (31:17):
You mean, so the photo gets printed, so it's a
pretty Also.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
You have like a digital gallery that she can go
back and see what she tried to kiss me at
the wedding.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
But the photo is her like tongue kissing.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
A groom like they like peck, they like turn and
they peck and they like kicking, and acted like no not.
I am telling you, I seriously think that they had
probably hooked up once upon a time because their chemistry
was better than her in the crew. You've seen arguments
sometimes boyfriends and girlfriends.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
The girlfriend wants to I don't want to public. I
don't do pity stuff like that. There's all kinds of hes,
just have people hammered falling over.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
Well, see the guy in Morgan's story to me, the
guy in mortgage story.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I mean, I can see the storyline in my head
where the guy is single, and it's so much fun
to tell the grooms the groom later look, I took
a picture with every single girl at your wedding.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Yeah, that's like, it sounds funny to me.
Speaker 7 (32:17):
That was his mission.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
It just sounds fun.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
It's something fun to do. You're bored, you're by yourself
at the wedding. Let me do how can I have
fun with this?
Speaker 1 (32:23):
But Peyton gives us an idea for a segment, like
I would have never thought that managing a photo booth
you would be exposed to drama. We should do a
segment tell us what you do and what kind of
drama you went over because of what you do, because
I would have never thought about that.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Yeah, the ones that really get me is with the
boyfriends and the girlfriends when they start arguing about what
poses they're gonna do, because it's like, Okay, I don't
think you guys are gonna work out for.
Speaker 7 (32:49):
Red Flag. I'm like, we can't even communicate.
Speaker 10 (32:51):
On a post.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Brother, think about that for a second, because like every
time we take a picture with this one over here,
this Kyle went, we're taking a thousand.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Usually what I do is I try to make at
the beginning of the night because I know it's going
to last a little bit. In that way, you know,
you get the photos out of the way. Everybody's good.
Speaker 6 (33:09):
Maria, thanks for calling in.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Thank you, John, Jay and Rich and Naya, good morning,
good morning, Hey, thanks for holding what's going on with
your face?
Speaker 15 (33:22):
Well, I have a good story today. I have one
hundred percent the bad guy in the story.
Speaker 6 (33:29):
You're the bad guy.
Speaker 17 (33:29):
Okay, I am the bad guy, but I feel like
it's very vindicated. So for context, my ex cheated on
me and we still share an apartment. We're just staying
there till the leash it up. But anyway, last night
he's having a small get together and he brings over
another girl into our shared apartment and he orders like
(33:54):
I think it's sushi, like one hundred and fifty dollars
with sushi, a ton of sushi. And he's doing it
on DoorDash. But he doesn't know that my tablet is
still linked to his door dash account. So I go in,
I change it to my friends who lives down the street,
and it says leave at the door. So I just
go over to her house.
Speaker 10 (34:15):
We have all of the sushi.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
I don't think I'm mad at that. I don't think
I'm mad at that at all.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
He comes out.
Speaker 17 (34:24):
I come on like two hours later, he's still yelling
on the phone with someone in support. I guess I'm
just like, grab.
Speaker 10 (34:30):
A glass of water.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Let us embarrass in front of all of the trends,
like maybe you Christian order pizza.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Oh the girl was still there while he was yelling
at DoorDash.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Yay, the audacity for that man to bring another girl
in there while you're still living together. Like I understand
still being broken up, but like the disrespect.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
That's a there's so many different levels of that, because
when did you guys break up?
Speaker 17 (34:55):
We broke up with two months ago and we still
have two months left on our lead.
Speaker 7 (34:59):
Oh that's wow.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
It's so wild to break up with somebody he got
caught cheating, and the fact that he could bring a
girl to your house when he's so weird.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
But he's probably like such a sociopath. He's like, well
it's over, she broke out, yeah, true, what's the problem.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
And also what if he said of buy and she's like,
I'm gonna go to your house now and he's like, oh, okay,
I let you know.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
My roommate is my ex girlfriend. We just broke up
two months ago.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
And does he introduce the girl that's over to you,
and does he say this is my no, doesn't like
what what does she think you're doing at the apartment?
Speaker 17 (35:26):
I mean, I don't know what kind of story he
told her, but he might as well not have even
noticed I was there.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
So does DoorDash refund? I would assume they do.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
I would assume because I know that my kids and
my wife have ordered stuff and it's gone to the
wrong place and they'll get a refund or something.
Speaker 6 (35:41):
So he must.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
I'm sure he came out, you know, okay, right, don't
you think, especially for that price.
Speaker 7 (35:46):
Unless he was like my ex girlfriend changed the address.
Speaker 6 (35:50):
But he never caught, did he He didn't know, did he?
Speaker 7 (35:52):
Oh he doesn't.
Speaker 6 (35:53):
Oh he doesn't know. He thinks the DoorDash driver's the
wrong place.
Speaker 7 (35:56):
Yeah, he probably gets away with it.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
Then. Actually, unless go to the app the door dash,
people go wait a minute, they address was changed.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
A lot of times they'll take like at my house,
I'll take a picture of the food in front of
your door, so you can say that's not my door.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Right, I'm probably get a Refa's what I mean. But
then they can I'll say, hey, it was changed to deliver.
Speaker 6 (36:12):
Here, that is your door.
Speaker 7 (36:13):
Complicated.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
All right, a lot's going on there.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
You know.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
My son camp he started door dashing.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Oh that's cool, the cool way to make something.
Speaker 6 (36:20):
He tried to. He did it for a day, and
then I was like, how was it. He says, great,
he makes some money.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Because it kind of hurt my heart a little bit,
you know, because I anyway, he was being trying to
get money, and then he said, I don't know if
I'm gona doing anymore. And then yesterday a package came
in the mail and it was from door dash giving
him all the supplies I guess to deliver all this stuff.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Right, gave you like a cooler bag so you can
keep all the food hot and warm. I actually think
it's really dope, especially because if you're like new to
the valley, or you just like driving around the places
that you get to see and explore and drive through
just in Arizona, like it's such a beautiful state. So
it gives you the opportunity to make some cash and
explore your city.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
You know. That is a real positive way of looking
at delivering food.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Joe and Andrey did it together, like one would drive
and the other would run in and get the food
and drop it off and then they would switch and
they made They made some good dough in a couple
of weekends. Mostly was Taco Bell, they said in Tempe
he did a taco Bell order. People don't want to
even go to Taco Bell. They're so lazy.
Speaker 6 (37:18):
Anayah, thanks for calling in. Thank you for listening.
Speaker 14 (37:21):
Of course, thanks guying.
Speaker 13 (37:22):
Have a great day, say.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
You say, John Jay and Rich so on Reddit, I
downloaded the Reddit app. Now I like spending a little
time on redd. I still find it hard to maneuver,
but I'm on the Reddit app. And I saw this
thing where guys on social media were listing girl flexes
that instantly make them attractive, and they had posted like
(37:49):
the top fifteen of them. These are flexes, you call
them flexes, things that make them instantly attractive. Like for me,
I remember when I was in college, there was this
girl and she drove by. She was in a pickup
truck and something that Alwa was just like, Oh my god,
is so sexy girl in a pickup right? So that
that kind of thing, right, So I hear one of
(38:10):
the things on the list is a girl comfortable with
power tools.
Speaker 6 (38:14):
Sounds weird, but pretty bad ass.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Ye. So I want you to think of guy flexes
you girls, and we will go over girl flexes us
and I'll go over this list too. If you guys
can think of flexes something that makes them instantly attractive.
For example, these guys say the ability to take responsibility
and apologize. That is a flex that turns on these guys.
(38:36):
When she can say I got this and then proceeds
to get this right, that's the big picking up stuff
on the floor with her toes that is actually on
the list.
Speaker 6 (38:46):
That is impressive.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
Seeing Kyle throw things with her toes. You throw keys
in a knife, Yeah, this is also impressive. Good posture, yep,
good posture. This is also impressive. This is a flex
for girls. A green thumb of any kind, this is
the This is big too. I think actually all these
are not posting on social media. That is a flex.
Speaker 6 (39:11):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Guys think that's a very attractive. My wife has zero
social media and I love it.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
So's my wife. Yah zero.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Now for our jobs, we have to so I think
you get to take us out of the out of
the equation financial responsibility.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Having an open attitude towards the outside world and new experiences.
If he's overly closed off and judgmental, that's a red flag.
Emotional maturity is a girl flex that these guys like, Well,
those are deep curious about the world, not necessarily smart, worldly,
(39:45):
but just like learning and finds the world to be
an interesting place. Number three on this list is problem
solving skills. One person said, you and me versus the
problem instead of who is to blame?
Speaker 6 (39:56):
Is so hot. This is what this guy says. This
is so awesome.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
One person said, we drank for free at every bar
we went to because we had so much credit everywhere
from trivia winnings. That's a lot of the opposite what
we hear of. The second updates the number one flex,
and I agree with this. Pay I'm a flex that
guys like about girls. When girls do this, they love it.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Pay for dinner.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
I'm like, when they're kind, I'm like, your seems like
very emotional. First thing I was gonna say is like
when they were like a summer dress, like when they
were the.
Speaker 7 (40:32):
Of course that's wrong.
Speaker 6 (40:34):
I would put Kyle in this category. This is a
flex of yours.
Speaker 8 (40:37):
This is a big craft.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
This is a big I would craft.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Wouldn't get to the top ten positivity pedicure toast as
a Kyle flex But no, that's not the number one answer.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
What is it.
Speaker 6 (40:48):
I mean, come on, if you were to described.
Speaker 7 (40:50):
Kyle's fun here's fine.
Speaker 6 (40:54):
Funny, a good sense of humor.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
Yeah, you know what, I was thinking of the same thing,
because I think both Kyle and Peyton. One of the
things I think is attract if it's when you go
with the bit, when somebody goes with the bit, you
say something stupid and then they just roll with it.
I think that's amazing. You are excellent.
Speaker 6 (41:08):
That's that's that's true. But I mean she's funny and
laugh out. Yes, that's what I mean.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
Sometimes I think it's something she said I laugh by
myself later in the day for sure.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
Yeah. So that's it. So can you guys think of
some guy flexes?
Speaker 7 (41:20):
I would say, off.
Speaker 5 (41:22):
The top of my head, I could think of three
right away. One like a good close relationship with his
family and his parents.
Speaker 6 (41:28):
Oh, that's a big one.
Speaker 8 (41:29):
I say, if he has a dog and he's really
good with it, that's a big one.
Speaker 5 (41:32):
And if he's like hilarious also good around kids things.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
And even if it's not that, I think there's a
good flex for for girls too. I think it's attractive
when you you are nice to a kid that's not yours. Yeah,
because that means that you care about the children for sure.
I like that too.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
I have three that come to my mind. Two of
that are kind of similar like Kyle. For me, it's
kind of family oriented, but specifically how they treat the
women in their life, your mom, your sister, your auntie's
that's big for me. Another one kind of shallow, is
like when you're like really good at the sport that
you play, like you could be busted really good, it
(42:11):
can kind of make you hot, Like look at some
of these NBA players have back these batties. It's like
you're topped. But if you're good at your sort, you
are fine. And then another one big for me, and
I didn't realize that until I started dating Kadem is
like when I can like turn my brain off, like
when I don't have to be like lights are on,
no one's home. I like to be able to do
that when my man's there because I know he's going
(42:32):
to handle it. I know he's going to take care
of I know he's going to do the thinking for it.
Speaker 6 (42:35):
Goes that I got this. Yeah, I think a guy
there's a couple of things.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
I think a guy like is a big flex when
a he looks good in a hat, because I think
that's such a hard thing to do. I like what
a guy wears a T shirt and jeans and they
just look cool, you know. Sadly I can't do that
because white's not my color, especially white T shirt.
Speaker 6 (42:54):
The heks good.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
I also like when they I think it's sexy when
a guy like is a good handyman and can do
all kinds of stuff. Sometimes I'm like, how do you
learn to do all that stuff? How do you know
what screwdriver to use? How do you know like that
kind of stuff? I think he's awesome, you know. Also,
you know it's funny like when you talk about sports.
But I like the guys like all my kids are
like this, and my dad was like this, if we
were walking on the beach and someone was playing catch,
(43:16):
they will participate in the catch with the strangers. Whereas
just an example, I was in San Diego not that
long ago. I'm walking on the beach and there were
three guys playing the football, tossing the football, and one
of the guys tosses the football to me right and
I catch it and I throw it back and I'm like, okay,
now I got to walk back that way and they're
still there. They're gonna throw the football. I went all
the way around the beach so they wouldn't so they
(43:39):
so they would and throw me into football. I was like,
I want to like, I caught the ball. I threw
it back to them. It was a spiral.
Speaker 6 (43:44):
He caught it. I'm like, I don't want to be
through that pressure again. I'm on vacation.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
That's true.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
I don't even that stress. I'm kid with the stress
of not catching the ball, dropping the ball. I literally, dude,
I met to me. I went around, and I walked
off the beach and got on the street, and wrap
passed around and went back on the beach. Story anyway,
what's the flex that a guy or girl has for you?
Call us at eighty seven seven nine three seven one
four seven or text JJR whatever that flexes to nine
(44:08):
six eight nine three.
Speaker 11 (44:11):
From the car to the office at win them every morning,
John Jay Rich Yesterday, I was telling you guys all
about these mediums.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
This group of mediums.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
They got together and they started talking about like the
misconceptions about death right, and I didn't get to it.
And I was so excited to get to it. We
had so many we have so much happening on this
radio show, so much happening.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
So I have.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
But if you don't know what a medium is, a
medium is a person who claims to act as a
bridge between the physical world and the spiritual realm.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
They sense things, right, they just know things. Yeah, so
if a bunch of them got together, they didn't even
need to make a phone call. They showed up the
same spot.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
So if anyone on earth knows anything about death, I
guess it would be these guys. So a group of
mediums got together, and these are the things the four
biggest things mediums say they wish they knew about death.
Speaker 6 (44:57):
This reminds me.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
I keep scrolling on Instagram TikTok, and you see those
creators that tell you how to go viral, and one
of the things they tell you you got to give
them like a number, like so right now, pretend pretend well, actually,
if this is on video right now, look at the
camera and I go, here.
Speaker 6 (45:10):
Are the four things you need to know about death?
Speaker 3 (45:12):
I see, right, you ever see it. Here are the
five things you do that will kill you about your toothbrush.
So here are the four things the biggest, the four
biggest things. Medium say they wish everyone knew about death.
They believe death isn't the end, to describe it as
a shift instead of goodbye. They say loved ones are
still connected to us, just in a different way. Many
(45:36):
believe signs can show up in dreams, songs, or the
unexpected moments. Right, And I can tell you this. Something
happened me the other day. So I say, I talk
about my barber Arson a lot. Don't talk about Arsenal
a lot. So I go to Scotts Hill barber shop.
Arson is the owner and he cuts my hair. Nown
Before Arson was a guy named Alex, Russian guy, great guy. Well,
(45:59):
one day I and in I was like, where's Alex.
Alex died. That's sad, Alex sid It was really sad,
really sad. So this is about two years ago since
Alex had passed. So I was at the barbershop last week.
Oh johniye live your her. It looks great, thanks guys.
So I was at the barbershop last week. Arson's cut
my hair, and I'm thinking about Alex, and I cannot
(46:20):
remember his name. And I know that he was on
the chair on the fot right, I can't remember Alex's
name it so I'm stuck and I'm like, man, and
I'm like, I wonder why I can't remember his name?
And I'm sitting all by myself while Arsen's cut my hair.
I'm sitting and going, what was his name? And I go,
I wonder if Alex is here in this room. I
wonder if Alex is at the barbershop. And the person
sitting in Alex's chair that's now cutting hair leans over
(46:42):
to Arson and goes Arsen remember when Alex used to
do whatever? And brings up Alex's name.
Speaker 8 (46:47):
Right the right, and I was like, Alex, Alex here.
Speaker 6 (46:51):
I was like, holy.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Smokes, that's that's That's what I'm talking about. They they're
connected with you in a different way. There are signs
that can show up in dream, songs or unexpected moments.
Speaker 8 (46:58):
I feel like that happened in me the other night.
Speaker 5 (47:00):
Remember I told you guys, my girlfriends and I we
all got together and did vision boards. We did that
on the anniversary of our good friend's death. And the
day our friend Dawn passed away. My friend Michelle, she
saw like a heart in the clouds and as we're
looking through these magazines, she goes, we were kind of
talking about her for we're talking about don and like,
what you know, beautiful light she was. And all of
(47:20):
a sudden, my friend go was, Oh my gosh, you guys,
I have to cut this out right now. It was
a picture of a heart in the clouds.
Speaker 6 (47:27):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
And you used to say it all the time that
the people in the next little world or in the afterlife,
they contact you.
Speaker 6 (47:34):
You just have to pay attention. You have to listen.
You want this, you have to listen. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:38):
Anyway, So another thing that these mediums sayre the biggest
misconceptions about death is that fear is normal, but don't
let it take over. Medium say, it's natural to wonder
what happens after we die, just don't let don't let
the fear take control.
Speaker 6 (47:49):
I think you need a medium to tell you that.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
Yeah, unless you're going to ht double hockey sticks, then
you better look out.
Speaker 6 (47:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
They also say that they believe pain stays behind. According
to the mediums, once someone dies, their fish in emotional
pain is gone. Some even believe that the soul continues
learning beyond this life. They also say no one crosses
over alone. They say one of the biggest misconceptions is
that people die lonely. Instead, they believe loved ones are
welcome with peace and love. One of the biggest takeaways
(48:16):
is to not worry so much about what happens after
we die, but to focus on the time we've got left.
Come on your motivational speaker.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
That sounds like a bumper sticker. That's not some medium stuff.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
So I think out of all those four things, the
biggest thing is you gotta listen, because I do believe
they're trying to reach you. If you've got a story
about someone from the afterlife getting a hold of you,
or a sign like I just told you about Alex
or Kyle's friend texted to us gar or whatever that
sign is.
Speaker 12 (48:43):
Sometimes flyla Hello, Oh hey, suck y'all.
Speaker 6 (49:05):
Suck y'all. Suck y'all. Is that you said suck y'all?
Is there a line?
Speaker 2 (49:09):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (49:12):
The content?
Speaker 6 (49:13):
Okay, So what's up?
Speaker 13 (49:14):
So I am a really big thrifting girl like Facebook, marketplace, DVOT.
I'm always getting my staff second hand and so I
bought a random dresser on Facebook Marketplace, of course, because
it was so cute and decently cheap. And when I
got it home, I found an envelope hidden in the back.
(49:38):
I know, it's so exciting, And when I opened it
there was almost two grand in cash.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
Oh.
Speaker 13 (49:45):
I wanted to keep it.
Speaker 14 (49:46):
I know, I wanted to keep it so bad, but
my conscience spoke to me. But at the same time,
it took all the willpower in me to track down
the family to return it.
Speaker 13 (50:00):
I had to do it. They let me know that
it was their grandmother's dresser who had just died, and
they had no idea that she was stashing money away,
So like maybe she was running like a secret operation
on the side or something.
Speaker 6 (50:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 14 (50:14):
I'm hoping that there's a whole family mystery I unlocked.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
Well, I got so many questions. I wonder if she
had cash dashed everywhere? And they Facebook marketplaced a weigh
like tens of thousands of dollars.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Oldies do that? Old people do that they had their money.
I don't think she had a secret thing going on.
She was just hiding money.
Speaker 8 (50:31):
Did they give you like a reward?
Speaker 14 (50:33):
They gave me like twenty bucks. But I was like, nah,
like this is your grandmother.
Speaker 13 (50:37):
It's like you should you should keep that.
Speaker 18 (50:39):
I have her mother.
Speaker 16 (50:41):
This is what I wanted.
Speaker 7 (50:42):
Anyway, Finder's key burns when it comes said thifty.
Speaker 6 (50:44):
You know, I saw this.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
I saw this TikTok video speaking of thrifty. This this
lady went to an estate sale and found an old rolodex.
You know those rolodexes where they's all pieces of papers
and stuff, and it's from a woman, an old grandma
who had died, and so the girl this is blowing
up on TikTok. The woman took the rolodex and decided
to visit all the places they could in the rolodex,
(51:06):
and they went to like cute little coffee shops, they
went to secondhand stores that this woman had capped all
these things in there. Yeah, so you should go visit
all the money. Yeah, it was a cool. It was
a cool thing.
Speaker 6 (51:19):
I saw the videos.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
He was like watching.
Speaker 6 (51:21):
It was like watching a little movie. I was like,
this is really neat.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
And she posted all all going all the places like,
you know, do you guys have any cool places in
your phone?
Speaker 6 (51:28):
Think about that? Any places like Yeah.
Speaker 8 (51:32):
Drop pin from a doctor's office.
Speaker 6 (51:34):
Because Rolodexes aren't like they used to be, right, you
just have your phone and not.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
Rarely like say, if I'm going to a business or something,
I really saved that business number because I could just
Google it the next time.
Speaker 7 (51:47):
Like an address book.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
You know we should do. We should have an address
on Google and just go there.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
No, but like if you look at your phone, like, oh,
here I have someone named Hally from American Airlines.
Speaker 6 (51:56):
I don't know who that is. We should go visit her?
Speaker 8 (51:59):
Would be like a little nervous.
Speaker 3 (52:03):
I have that.
Speaker 6 (52:04):
There's got to no bit. You guys don't have businesses.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
In your Holly the one that denied us access into
the Centurion.
Speaker 6 (52:09):
Large Arizona minibike. Let's go visit Arizona mini bike. That
was it.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
That's in my rolodex now, non, you can't be a
person's name. Look for a company. You guys don't have companies.
Speaker 8 (52:20):
I know I have Moxie pet Control.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
I gotta say, I'm impressed that you have anything listed
that it actually is in your phone. I know that's
actually impressive to me. Big CRIMEO go I have I
don't have to build a battery guy, battery guy. You
just still grab batteries somewhere.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
Yeah. Yeah, I got a golf card from him. My
dentist one Stop Nutrition, I have that in there. There
you go, Orange theory.
Speaker 6 (52:48):
Back in the day.
Speaker 8 (52:49):
I have habits salon.
Speaker 6 (52:51):
See that's good.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
See businesses, all of Kyle's places, we could pretty much guess.
I know, I know you don't have a salon. You
got the doctor, you got a Jimi Compstacks place. I
got Taylor's Cafe, which isn't there anymore. Cat's Cafe is
now La La Land.
Speaker 8 (53:07):
Yeah, it's this I don't I wish I had.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
I need to do more more businesses. Yeah, here's Natalie CBD,
Kyle's friend.
Speaker 8 (53:17):
That's a good number to have.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Yeah, you better get that CBD fast.
Speaker 5 (53:19):
I think she's no by the I think by November
they're all not allowed to sell CBD anymore.
Speaker 8 (53:23):
What Yeah, Yeah, there was like to be something that passed.
Speaker 5 (53:27):
It's like literally all the CBD businesses are going to
be gone terrible legal, Like, yeah, they're going to ban it.
Speaker 8 (53:35):
Why, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (53:36):
That doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 6 (53:38):
Wait, weed is legal. Weed is going to be legal
and CBD not legal?
Speaker 7 (53:42):
Correct, that's bizarre, buy your CD in.
Speaker 1 (53:44):
The streets stock up right now.
Speaker 6 (53:47):
Now there's gonna be like CBD, Who's your Who's your?
CBD plus dealer had.
Speaker 8 (53:52):
The two Genesis again. Dot comtet stuck.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
Up because it's that's what I did. I got a
good stash of the little uh the Droppers from her.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (54:00):
Well, Leila, thanks for calling in, thanks for listening, and
you did a good time.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
Thank y'all.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
What ahead?
Speaker 6 (54:06):
You did a good thing, returning that money, good thing,
returning the money. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (54:09):
I have audio the TikTok story I was telling you
about the Lady Show. This New York City woman named
Mari found a Rollodex at an estate sale filled with
closed down and forgotten businesses. She's now going through one
by one to discover the favorite businesses of the woman
who owned the Rollo deeps.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
I just Rollodeck had in the state sale, and it
has a bunch of recommendations for New York City businesses.
Speaker 7 (54:29):
I thought it would be fun to go check them out.
First up on the list tiny Dollhouse, which is New
York City's only ministry store.
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Okay, and literally right next door is ore Washer's Bakery,
which she also had a card for so let's check
it out.
Speaker 10 (54:39):
The most popular items the traveler.
Speaker 7 (54:41):
For cookie, Let's try it roll bum pay in.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
Our last off of the day is Fabulous Fannies.
Speaker 7 (54:46):
It's the world's largest collection of vintage ewear.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
I am so curious how all of these tied into
our state sale lady's life.
Speaker 7 (54:53):
Lucky for me, there are so many more cards.
Speaker 10 (54:55):
So we're going to keep getting to know her.
Speaker 6 (54:57):
See that's fun. Let's go through our phones and go
visit places. It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 8 (55:08):
Coffy and hands ear buzz on John.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Jay and Rich.
Speaker 6 (55:12):
Good morning, John Jay and Rich. Can I help you?
Speaker 12 (55:14):
Good morning?
Speaker 3 (55:15):
Hi?
Speaker 11 (55:15):
Fine, I were called mining tailor.
Speaker 16 (55:18):
I was calling in because I had a little bit
of a same situation kind of with jewelry, Like Kyle, So.
Speaker 6 (55:26):
Are you talking about her finger, her wedding ring?
Speaker 5 (55:28):
Yes, yeah, I've been wearing my ring for almost fourteen
years and all of a sudden, my skin underneath has
gotten so irritated.
Speaker 8 (55:34):
It's like red and itchy and like the skin's peeling off.
Speaker 6 (55:38):
But I noticed, yeah, said ring is on your finger.
Speaker 8 (55:41):
Now, I made it happen because somebody DMed me that there.
Speaker 5 (55:44):
That happened to them too, and then it was she
thought it was a sign she was supposed to get
a divorced.
Speaker 8 (55:48):
Then she got a divorce and I was like, well,
I will wear this ring.
Speaker 6 (55:51):
No matter what.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
You know, what's funny is that, A your hand is
extremely tan. B your ring looks humongous and shiny, like
extra shining that I cleaned it just in case.
Speaker 7 (56:00):
But what happened to you?
Speaker 18 (56:01):
So?
Speaker 16 (56:01):
I actually had a belly button ring since the age
of sixteen. I'm thirty three now, and I all of
a sudden got I don't know how, but allergic to
that silver and it actually worked its way all the
way almost out of my belly button and it was
red and itchy.
Speaker 5 (56:21):
So did you do something to correct it or you
just had to like never wear that specific type of
metal again.
Speaker 16 (56:27):
I can't wear that metal anymore, so I wear mostly
like gold plated.
Speaker 8 (56:31):
Maybe I need to go to Olive av and get
a different ring.
Speaker 7 (56:33):
Yeah, you got to go get a new ring.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
It does cause a race.
Speaker 11 (56:44):
Okay, I'm going to keep trying it for your husband
for me.
Speaker 6 (56:47):
Yeah, So did you end up ever getting another belly
button ring or no?
Speaker 16 (56:53):
No, no, because it worked its way out so much
to wear as barely a slipper of skin, have to
get it stitch back up.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
The thing is.
Speaker 6 (57:03):
But see here's what the difference is. Kyle's wearing it
on her finger.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
Yours was like, so, I think it's your The human
body is pushing it out, like when you get a splinter.
A lot of times your body would just push the
splinter out because it's not supposed to be there. So
you have this, You have this piece of thing in
your body that's pushing it out. Kyle just has his ring.
I guess maybe it's maybe it's it's interesting because it's
like there's a rat.
Speaker 16 (57:21):
It happens on my neck too. I was getting rashes
on my neck. It's silver jewelry. I can't wear it.
Speaker 6 (57:26):
Will you wear it?
Speaker 3 (57:27):
When you're doing nothing where you're trying to extend your
neck and make it really long, and you kept putting
rings around your neck like they do in the tribes
in Africa, and then you can.
Speaker 6 (57:34):
Get this rash.
Speaker 16 (57:35):
But now I have you know, I hear if they
take those rings off, their neck will snap.
Speaker 6 (57:38):
That's what I heard.
Speaker 8 (57:39):
Oh my gosh, that's crazy.
Speaker 10 (57:42):
Oh no, I will not be doing that, right Taylor, Well,
thanks for calling in all right, bye, I love you guys.
Speaker 6 (57:48):
Ali, good morning, how good morning.
Speaker 10 (57:51):
I love you guys.
Speaker 11 (57:52):
Thank you so much for being so great on the radio.
You guys are always so much fun to listen to.
And so you ask for an interesting story about when
I wedy got hot cheating. Now, technically it wasn't me
who got fought, but I was the person who basically
got the other.
Speaker 9 (58:07):
Person in trouble, if that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
And so I was.
Speaker 11 (58:11):
It was my very best friend and she was dating
another friend of mine. Well, he wanted to kind of
get to know another friend of mine, So I invited
that other friend over to my house when I knew
that the original girlfriend was busy, and we were all
like hanging out.
Speaker 10 (58:27):
Was totally like innocent.
Speaker 11 (58:28):
We were just chatting and hanging out. But then somehow
my phone but dialed the original girlfriend while we were
hanging out, and it basically left her a voicemail. And
you can hear us all giggling, you can hear us
all laughing, and at one point somebody said, oh, we
better not tell so and so about this because she's
(58:48):
going to get really mad, and left an entire voicemail
calling everything else that we had done. So then we
all go home and then I get a call, probably
about two or three.
Speaker 7 (58:58):
In the morning.
Speaker 11 (59:00):
It's the original girlfriend and she said, so, I'm gonna
ask you one question one time, and I want the
honest answer, and if you're not honest with me, I
am never going to talk to you ever again. And
so she asked me, did you and my boyfriend hang
out with that other girl tonight? And I'm a terrible liar,
and I said, yep, we sure did. We did, but
(59:20):
it was totally innocent. Nothing happened. I was there the
whole time.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
Blah blah blah.
Speaker 11 (59:24):
But yeah, I definitely got them in trouble and that
was my fault forgetting the butt dial.
Speaker 6 (59:27):
Noise nond So who ended up with who at the
end of the story.
Speaker 11 (59:31):
So I actually ended up with the original girlfriend. She's
still my best friend.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
Oh okay, wait, but you weren't being like innocent about
it at first, right, Like you were introducing your other
friend to this guy because you thought maybe they would
mess a little bit.
Speaker 10 (59:45):
Yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 11 (59:45):
I was a little messy on my part. We were
really young, so, you know, trying to be a good
friend to my homeboy right, Yeah, was a little messy
on my part, but so actually my homeboy and your
original girlfriend did actually end up staying together and had
a kids and there you know, in love and all
