Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey dummy, if you get free roses, it's a trap.
War of the Roses starts right now on John Jay
and Rich.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Alright, we're getting ready for War of the Roses. Fabian,
what's up? You're on the air. What's your story? Who's
cheating on you?
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Hey, so I feel kind of crazy when saying this,
but I'm starting to think that my wife is getting
something on the side. Every few nights she goes out
with her girlfriends, which that normally wouldn't bother me, but Lately,
there's this pattern where she comes home, she goes straight
to the shower, and then suddenly she's in the best mood.
(00:36):
And I'm telling you, my wife has been miserable for
the last full year, no lie. And I don't know,
we barely connect anymore. She's always irritated with me. But
for some reason, after these quote-unquote girls' nights, she's practically glowing.
And I hate that my mind is going there. And
(00:59):
I don't know if maybe I'm just being insecure, but
something just feels off. I think somebody else is putting
that pep in her step, if you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
That makes me wonder, like, is there anything else that's
going on in your relationship that is shady? Like, is
she hiding her phone? Is she lying about where she's
at with her friends?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Nothing that I've noticed other than this, to be honest
with you. I don't really go.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
I don't really pay attention.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
To her phone, but, um, yeah, there's nothing else that
I can think of that I would consider shady or anything.
Speaker 6 (01:36):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
So you're saying she comes home and she goes and
washes that guy off and then she's all happy in
a good mood. That's what you're saying. She always comes
home and washes and jumps in the shower, right?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
She goes straight to the shower.
Speaker 7 (01:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
So I'm like, and she's trying to like, You can't
smell his obsession, his Ralph Lauren, his Paul Gaultier.
Speaker 8 (01:57):
It's kind of sad you jump right to that because, like,
there's other reasons you would want to shower. Like, are
her girls nights at a new yoga place? Like, is
she just sweaty? And you know when you work out
you have those endorphins, so that may explain why she's in.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
A better mood. Like, you know?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Guys have female intuition, too, you know?
Speaker 9 (02:15):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
I'm kind of with you, Kyle. I'm not discrediting. I'm
just saying, like.
Speaker 8 (02:18):
Like Peyton said, you said there wasn't anything else.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Yeah, so to me, I'm like, sometimes you hang out
with your girlfriends and you need to wash off all
that bad energy and vibes that you're having for a day.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Every time. Every time she comes home, she gets in
the shower. Every time.
Speaker 10 (02:29):
Who knows?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Who knows?
Speaker 11 (02:31):
Are there more girls' nights than normal lately?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I would say so.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
It's pretty regular.
Speaker 12 (02:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 13 (02:38):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
All right, let's call her. What's your wife's name?
Speaker 10 (02:40):
Jenna.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
All right, we're going to get Jenna on the phone
next and find out who she thinks is sending her flowers.
War of the Roses next with John T. and Rich.
Speaker 14 (02:48):
For the john jay and rich but let's.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Be honest you stay for kyle and peyton it's john jay.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
And rich we are in the middle of war of
the roses fabian thinks his wife jenna is cheating on
him because every time she comes home from a girl's
night boom she goes in the shower every time and
then she's like in a really good mood so he's
got reason to think that there's what you say there's
a guy something on the side she's getting something on
the side is what you said right fabian.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
I'm thinking that's definitely a possibility.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (03:19):
He said someone else is putting that pep in her step.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Oh, yeah. It all depends how big is that pep.
That's a bummer.
Speaker 14 (03:26):
Whoa, wow.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
I really hope this is not the case for you.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Hello?
Speaker 8 (03:39):
Hi, good morning. Is Jenna available?
Speaker 11 (03:42):
Yes, this is she.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Perfect.
Speaker 11 (03:43):
Hi, Jenna.
Speaker 8 (03:44):
So my name is Sarah. I actually have some really
good news for you. You're like, what is this?
Speaker 15 (03:47):
Sorry.
Speaker 8 (03:48):
I'm with a new company. We're called J & R Flowers.
It's like my fourth day on the job. And like
I said, I do have good news for you, but
I kind of messed up a little bit. So I'm
hoping you can bear with me and help me out
so that you can be showered with love because somebody
wants to send you our most romantic bouquet of roses.
And I am so embarrassed because There's actually a couple
(04:10):
of these bouquets going out, and I want to make
sure you get the right card so you're not like,
who is this? So I'm just wondering, is there any
way you could confirm who would be sending you flowers
so I could get the right card to you?
Speaker 12 (04:24):
Oh. Probably my husband, Fabian. I don't know.
Speaker 16 (04:31):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (04:31):
Anybody else?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Probably Jenna. What the hell is going on? Because I'm
sitting here.
Speaker 16 (04:37):
I'm listening to you, and none.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Of this is making sense to me. You've been super
weird when you come home from your girls' nights.
Speaker 16 (04:43):
Like, what is going on?
Speaker 12 (04:45):
What is going on?
Speaker 16 (04:46):
Fabian?
Speaker 10 (04:46):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 12 (04:48):
What is happening right now?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I'm trying to figure out what you're doing. Like, you
keep going out with your friends.
Speaker 16 (04:52):
You come home late.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
You jump in the shower immediately, and then suddenly you're
all happy and glowing. Like, you haven't acted like that
with me in months. You must be getting your happiness
from somewhere else, I'm assuming.
Speaker 12 (05:04):
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Honey, you seriously, do you think
I'm cheating on you?
Speaker 3 (05:11):
I don't know. That's why I'm here.
Speaker 17 (05:13):
Like, you tell me.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
What am I supposed to think?
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 12 (05:17):
Fabian, I'm going out with my girlfriend, and I have
a couple drinks, and then I laugh and dance with them,
and then I'm, I don't know, I'm feeling like myself again,
and they've, I don't know. Honey, they've honestly just brought
back some life into me, and so then I come home,
(05:37):
I take a shower, I take care of myself, and
then I go to sleep.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
What do you mean, take care of yourself?
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Hey, Jenna, Jenna, Jenna, you're on the radio right now.
You're on John Chain Rich, War of the Roses.
Speaker 11 (05:48):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 12 (05:50):
I'm sorry. Okay, I'm familiar with the show, but.
Speaker 18 (05:55):
This is ridiculous.
Speaker 12 (05:56):
I don't understand why you're so upset about this. You
barely kiss me anymore, let alone initiate it.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Anything.
Speaker 12 (06:05):
And so, yeah, sometimes I have to handle my own
business so that I can get a little bit more sleep.
I mean, my God, what a shocker. I wake up
in a better mood.
Speaker 19 (06:13):
Like what, what's the issue here?
Speaker 3 (06:15):
That's low eating right there.
Speaker 13 (06:18):
Low eating.
Speaker 15 (06:19):
Okay.
Speaker 12 (06:20):
You, you think that's, that's me cheating with who? With myself?
Speaker 20 (06:25):
Do you have a husband?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Like, why are you doing this behind my back when
you literally have me? What do you do?
Speaker 12 (06:31):
You cannot be serious right now. You thought I was
sleeping with another man, and then you find out that
the other person is me, and somehow I'm still cheating.
Somehow I'm cheating on you.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
You were hiding from me.
Speaker 12 (06:47):
I wasn't hiding anything. What do you want me to do?
Do you want me to send you a calendar invite? Because,
I mean, especially when you show zero interest in me,
so I don't know. I don't know what this is
all about at this point because none of.
Speaker 20 (07:03):
This should be a shocker.
Speaker 16 (07:06):
That's not the point.
Speaker 12 (07:08):
That is the point. Instead of asking, oh, why is
my wife suddenly, you know, seeming happier, you bring me
on to a radio show to accuse me of cheating
because I take a shower when I go to bed
and then I'm in a good mood? I mean, Tabian,
get a grip. What the hell?
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Let me jump in for a second. What she's saying
happens in the shower. Is that common, you guys?
Speaker 4 (07:35):
It's wherever you want to do your business.
Speaker 8 (07:37):
I'm sure some people do that.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Can you enlighten us? Is this relatable to any of
you in the studio, especially you, Kyle?
Speaker 8 (07:46):
I mean, I think hanging out with your friends and
feeling like yourself again is very relatable.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
I could understand. I mean, absolutely, Jenna. I am 100%
on your side. Fabian, I think you're probably feeling a
little insecure. That's not cheating, though. That's definitely not cheating.
This could be a great thing.
Speaker 8 (08:09):
This could open up the communication.
Speaker 11 (08:11):
For you, too. I mean, if you look at it
like this, you don't have to do anything, and she's
in a great mood.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
He wants to be in the great mood, too. I mean,
I think, Kyle, you're exactly right. This is like a
perfect opportunity for the two of you guys to come
together to communicate and.
Speaker 11 (08:25):
Get some loving back on. That's right. When she comes
in from the girls' night, you know it's on.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Hey, after she comes home from girls' night, just meet
her before the shower, and I'm sure you're fine.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I just don't feel good about this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Come on, Fabian. No, she's not a guy. She thought
you were sending her the flowers. There's not another guy.
She's not cheating on you. I mean, you obviously have
to work on your relationship because she says you haven't
touched her in a long time. So she's having some
needs that you've got to meet. And, you know, you
have needs that she's got to meet. You guys got
to communicate. So this is actually a really good thing.
Speaker 12 (08:59):
Yeah, well, and on top of that, to be honest,
You should stop this right now.
Speaker 11 (09:05):
Get out of your head.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Like, seriously.
Speaker 12 (09:08):
This whole thing is ridiculous. And quite frankly, like, maybe
you need to start thinking about yourself a little bit
more and not putting so much focus on me and
what's wrong with me. Because quite frankly, I'm out here
trying to do my thing. And you're the one that's
calling a radio show, making up all these stories in
your head. When you could have just talked to me
about it, we could have skipped this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah, communicate what I was saying. Thank you both for
going on the air with us. Thank you very much.
That is War of the Roses, you guys, with John
Jay and Rich.
Speaker 14 (09:37):
Yeah, if that last segment offended you, I am really,
really sorry.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Please email our management at yourmom at iheartradio.yourmom.com.
Speaker 14 (09:48):
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Good morning, Tatum. You're on the air. How are you?
Speaker 18 (09:51):
I'm good.
Speaker 16 (09:52):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I understand you have like a weird rule that you
want to share with us growing up.
Speaker 13 (09:57):
I do.
Speaker 18 (09:58):
So my parents had this really weird, weird rule that
nobody in our family was ever allowed to sleep in
the guest room, like ever. And I thought that was
super normal until I started having sleepovers at other people's houses.
And I realized people actually use their guest rooms and
sleep In our house, my parents said that room was
just for like emergencies only, which apparently meant if someone
(10:20):
died or got divorced or was between homes. And the
craziest part was we weren't even allowed to go in
there without permission.
Speaker 16 (10:27):
My mom would keep, yeah.
Speaker 18 (10:28):
She'd keep this bed perfectly made, curtains closed. And it
was kind of giving like a horror movie, not gonna lie.
And I finally asked her why we couldn't use it.
And she goes, because then it'll stop being a guest room.
And I was like, but mom, we are the guests.
Speaker 16 (10:45):
We live here.
Speaker 12 (10:47):
That's so funny.
Speaker 8 (10:48):
That reminds me of like growing up, I had a
friend who came over and he's like, is there any
rooms I can't go in? And we were like, no.
And then me and my friends went over to his
house and his mom literally had like, I think it
was a living room, right? And it was like literally
blocked off with like those red stanchion thingies, like a.
Speaker 14 (11:06):
Museum, like a museum.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Oh, really?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Did they live at Graceland? No. Nope, it was just
in Ahwatukee. You know what's funny? Wait, wait, wait.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Like old books and stuff?
Speaker 11 (11:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (11:16):
Maybe she had antiques.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Your friend asking, are there any rooms I can't go
in is so weird.
Speaker 15 (11:21):
So weird.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
So weird. I'd be like, what? I know.
Speaker 8 (11:24):
Well, I thought it was weird until going to his
house and realizing they do have a room you're.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Not allowed in.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
And it probably was. Poor guy was probably traumatized. He
definitely did not want to walk into a room he
wasn't supposed to. I'm sure his mom... Had lit him
up once or twice. Like, what's that about?
Speaker 11 (11:39):
That makes total sense to me.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Okay.
Speaker 11 (11:40):
My childhood home in beautiful Florissant, Missouri was 1300 square feet.
So we never were allowed to go into the living
room unless there were church people over. They could go
in there. And on Christmas day, we would go in there.
Otherwise it was off limits, off limits to us. So
we hung out in the kitchen, me and my brother.
That's where we hung out because the rooms are too small.
(12:02):
But that room was totally off limits. I get your friend.
I totally get it.
Speaker 8 (12:05):
Because you just wanted to keep it nice?
Speaker 12 (12:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (12:07):
It was just nice. And whatever they had nice on
the carpet was perfect. The couch you couldn't sit on.
So there was no reason for us to go in
there because there was nothing in there we wanted to
hang out and play with anyway. But we weren't allowed
in the living room at all.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Let's get into weird rules growing up. 877-937-1047. When I
was a kid and my dad was working in his office,
whenever I walked in to say something to him, He
always made me say the alphabet in Greek, and then
I had to do it backwards, in reverse.
Speaker 11 (12:38):
I think that's an Indiana Jones movie.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Oh, you're right. That is Indiana Jones. My bad.
Speaker 8 (12:43):
I was about to say.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
I lost you there. Already then?
Speaker 14 (12:47):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (12:47):
That way I was able to.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Read hydroglyphics growing up and I could save the arc.
Speaker 11 (12:56):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Now I'm seeing, now I'm getting it.
Speaker 11 (12:58):
You guys get a whole deep lore. You guys don't
even know.
Speaker 7 (13:01):
Tatum.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Thanks for calling in. Thanks for listening. And thanks for
giving us a segment to get into. We want to
get into weird rules. Hillary, you got a weird rule.
Speaker 19 (13:08):
Yeah, I do. My family has this rule where if
I had a, you know, like growing up and stuff,
like when I was in high school, my family had
this rule where if I had a boyfriend sleepover and
He had to sleep on the floor and my bedroom.
Speaker 16 (13:21):
Door had to stay open.
Speaker 19 (13:23):
I thought this was like normal. So when I went
to college, I started dating this guy and I made
him sleep on the floor the first time he stayed over.
Speaker 16 (13:32):
He looked at me like I was crazy.
Speaker 19 (13:34):
He's like, wait, I'm sorry, you want me to sleep where?
Speaker 16 (13:39):
And I was like, the floor, obviously.
Speaker 19 (13:40):
Like, duh, that's where boyfriends sleep when they stay over.
But then I realized I don't have to follow my parents'
little house rules when I'm an adult. I finally realized that.
Speaker 10 (13:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (13:54):
We're actually still friends.
Speaker 19 (13:56):
We're not dating anymore.
Speaker 16 (13:57):
But he still brings it up.
Speaker 19 (13:59):
He was so gagged about it. But he did it anyway.
And that's kind of.
Speaker 21 (14:04):
Why we started dating.
Speaker 19 (14:05):
We dated for a while before.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
So when you were in high school, your parents let
you have a guy sleep over?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
That's what I was going to say. That's crazy.
Speaker 11 (14:12):
No way. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 19 (14:15):
They were like, yeah, but the bedroom door has to
stay open.
Speaker 14 (14:17):
Still.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Sleepover, though.
Speaker 19 (14:21):
Truly, I was such a good kid that it didn't
even matter. I was not going to be sleeping with
my boyfriend in high school.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
My parents knew it.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
I had a friend who used to always have sleepovers
with her guy friends, and I would go and spend
the night, and I would get so nervous that my
mom and dad would find out that I was having
sleepovers with boys that I would always come up with
some fake excuse that I needed my mom to come
pick me up. I was not about to get reamed
for her. No.
Speaker 11 (14:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (14:46):
That would be scary.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Smart.
Speaker 11 (14:47):
That's a smart move.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Also, kind of weird.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
There's like six boys here and we're like in the
eighth grade.
Speaker 11 (14:53):
This is odd.
Speaker 10 (14:54):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
I would never.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
I would go home.
Speaker 12 (14:56):
Yeah, girl.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I did.
Speaker 9 (14:58):
Trust.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Hillary, thanks for listening. Have a great day.
Speaker 16 (15:02):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
My friend Mike, I remember, this is kind of a
weird rule, but when he got in trouble, I remember
his parents, the way he got punished. was that they
put him in a room and he had to sit
on a chair in the middle of the room and
his feet weren't allowed to touch the ground. And they
would look under the door if his feet touched the
ground and they would like spank him.
Speaker 8 (15:23):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
I know. I was told that one time and I
had like nightmares.
Speaker 17 (15:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Why would your parents be like that?
Speaker 14 (15:29):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
I've totally had to do wall sits as a punishment
but never got like whooped for it if I didn't
like pass.
Speaker 11 (15:35):
That's different than your feet can't touch the ground and
they're spying on you under the door.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
That is a weird rule. I know, I know. That's weird.
Weird rule is a weird punishment, too. Yeah. Anyway, 877-937-1047.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
You've got questions, and we have four unqualified people to
give you answers.
Speaker 14 (15:54):
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Selena. Good morning. What's a weird rule you had growing up?
Speaker 21 (15:58):
So my mother always worked in the medical field when
we were younger. And so any time that we would start, like,
you know, just a cough, she would always just tell us,
suppress it. So every time we would start to cough,
she would just, you know, always just tell us to
suppress it. And we were like, you know, little kids, like,
(16:18):
how do you suppress your cough? But um honestly it
worked i mean we never had those crazy barking coughs
that you hear some of the kids with so tried
it with my family and they looked at me like
i was crazy i was like suppress it he's like
i'm gonna explode what do you mean suppress it.
Speaker 11 (16:37):
So she's saying as a medical professional if you hold
back the cough you don't actually get the real cough.
Speaker 21 (16:44):
Well Yeah, so she would just explain that, like, if you, yeah,
don't give in to that cough, then it won't get worse, because,
you know, you cough, and then it, like, takes, you know,
it tickles away, but then you're coughing again.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
It's the power of the mind, I guess, is what
your mom's actually doing. Micah, good morning. What's a weird
rule you had growing up?
Speaker 20 (17:02):
My mom, she was a single parent, and she worked
a lot, and I had two younger brothers, and we
fought about literally everything.
Speaker 12 (17:09):
Oh.
Speaker 20 (17:10):
Everything, but what we thought about the most was sitting
up front in the front seat of the car and
what went on the TV. So she decided to assign
us specific days of the week. So for example, my
day was Monday and Thursday and those were the days
that I got to choose what went on TV. And
one of the days I got to sit shotgun. Um,
(17:32):
but it's funny and it did, um, It kind of
stopped the fighting for sure, but it also kind of
turned us into con artists because I would use it
during the week to get my brothers to do stuff
for me. My brother was a big WWE wrestling fan,
and that's what was on Monday and Thursdays, so I
would kind of use it to my advantage.
Speaker 11 (17:54):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Well, thank you, Micah. Kate, you got a weird rule?
Speaker 13 (17:58):
Yes, I had a weird family rule when we ever
got Christmas gifts or... any birthday gifts. We weren't actually
allowed to open things like Bratz dolls and Barbies and
things like that because they would be collectible one day.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 8 (18:15):
And they are. It's funny, Paige and I, we were
just talking about this the other day with like the
holiday Barbies and we couldn't wait. It could have been
worth millions. So now you probably have a nice stash
of collectibles.
Speaker 13 (18:27):
Yeah, I actually have like six different dolls still in
the boxes. Just sitting up in the closet.
Speaker 11 (18:33):
But what did you what did you play with just
sticks from the yard what.
Speaker 13 (18:38):
Certain ones we would be able to so they had
those you know the cheaper ones so you know the
legs would like collapse in we were.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Like the basic ones and like.
Speaker 13 (18:49):
Yeah the basic ones.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
The ones you're talking about are like they're in these
big beautiful boxes or they're they're limited edition like I
still have my Justin Bieber Barbie doll packed away somewhere
because I thought it was going to make me a
ton of money. It's not, by the way. It might.
Speaker 20 (19:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (19:01):
I have one that actually is in a guitar-shaped case.
Speaker 11 (19:05):
Yes.
Speaker 14 (19:06):
Oh, that's cool.
Speaker 11 (19:06):
I love that. Oh, that's so fun.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Thanks, Kate. Thanks for listening. Levy, what's a weird rule
you have?
Speaker 22 (19:13):
So, growing up, if I were sick or if I
had an appointment or if there was anything that ailed
me or kept me from school, I couldn't have any
fun after school. You know, like if school was over
and my appointment was over and I had to go home,
like no TV, no having fun, no going outside because
(19:36):
I miss school.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Oh, that makes sense.
Speaker 10 (19:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
I think that's a good rule.
Speaker 11 (19:40):
You should be able to watch TV if you're sick, though.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Oh, you should be able to watch TV for sure.
Speaker 11 (19:43):
That's the glory of being home during the day. You
get to watch all the shows.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (19:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 22 (19:48):
I believe that, too.
Speaker 13 (19:49):
But, like, that was.
Speaker 22 (19:50):
Just a weird rule that my mom had. It was
just no fun.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Because she didn't want you to fake it. She didn't
want you to fake it. Right.
Speaker 11 (19:57):
Exactly.
Speaker 22 (19:58):
I think that it was just more along the lines, like, if, okay,
if you don't go to school, then you can't have
fun after school.
Speaker 6 (20:04):
Right, right, right.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Thanks, Levy. Debracy, what do you got? What's a weird rule?
Speaker 23 (20:08):
So when I would decide, say on a Tuesday, that
I was going to hang out with my friends until
the streetlights came on and have fun, the next day
I couldn't have fun. So it was every other time.
And it was the weirdest thing. I have kids now
(20:29):
and I tried to implement that. And my kids definitely
called me out and was like, what is that?
Speaker 11 (20:36):
It didn't occur to you until they started pushing back
that you can have fun every day?
Speaker 20 (20:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 23 (20:41):
And I'm like, wait, hold on. I need to stop.
Speaker 13 (20:43):
No.
Speaker 23 (20:44):
So, yeah, it is definitely a learning curve for me
because I thought that was normal. So if I have
fun today, there's no having fun tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
No talking, no going anywhere. Go to my grandma's house.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
That is probably one of the weirdest rules I've ever heard.
Speaker 8 (21:01):
So you would never get like a three day pass
to Disneyland. Three days in a row would not be
an option.
Speaker 11 (21:06):
Too tight with fun.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
You'd go to Disneyland one day, and the second day
you get stuck in traffic. It'd make you stay in traffic.
Bad day. All right, thank you. Jared, you got a
weird rule?
Speaker 6 (21:16):
So I don't have a weird rule, but my buddy,
they had a white room in there. It was like
a living room.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
It was a white room.
Speaker 6 (21:23):
Nobody was allowed to go in there. Well, anyway, I
worked for an appliance company, and they ordered a new
washer and dryer. And so me and my other buddy,
we went to install it. And when we tried to
install the new washer and dryer, we flooded that room.
Speaker 11 (21:42):
The white room got flooded.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
And what's the weird rule? That? The white rule? That
no one's allowed in there?
Speaker 6 (21:49):
The weird rule is nobody was allowed in that white room.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Ever.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
You couldn't go in there.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
So what'd they do in there?
Speaker 6 (21:54):
Perfect.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
What do you do in a white room?
Speaker 6 (21:57):
I don't know. It wasn't my house.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
He'd probably just look at it.
Speaker 8 (22:00):
So when you flooded it, did you try to go
in there to fix it? And they were like, don't
go in there.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Don't fix the white room.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
No, it was just flooded. And so we're calling the
plumbers and everybody else trying to get over there to
fix the pipe. But the white room was absolutely destroyed.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
All right. Thanks, Jared. Dee, you got a weird rule?
Speaker 21 (22:25):
Yeah, I have a couple of them, actually.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
All right.
Speaker 10 (22:27):
I had two girls being a single mom. And along
the lines of them fighting all the time, like the
previous caller talked about, What I did with them, because
they always want a shotgun, is one of the kids'
birthday was on the 18th, and one of the kids'
birthday was on the 19th.
Speaker 16 (22:45):
So I told them it.
Speaker 10 (22:46):
Was odd and even. So if it was an even day,
then the even person, the 18th, so she was even
day and odd day.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
So that was one of them.
Speaker 11 (22:55):
Complicated, but okay, get it.
Speaker 17 (22:58):
Well, it was just odd and even.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
It was easier back then.
Speaker 16 (23:00):
It's like, what day is it? Okay, it's the 5th, so.
Speaker 10 (23:03):
Then, you know, Miranda, which was the odd day. Anyway,
the second rule was for Christmas Day, Christmas morning, they
were not allowed to come downstairs to open presents until
Elvis Presley's CD started playing.
Speaker 5 (23:21):
Then they could come down.
Speaker 10 (23:22):
That's a weird rule.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
They were really good at it.
Speaker 16 (23:25):
They stayed upstairs.
Speaker 21 (23:27):
Until they heard that song.
Speaker 11 (23:29):
A little blue Christmas without you.
Speaker 10 (23:35):
To this day, they know when they hear that song.
Speaker 16 (23:37):
Oh, my God, that song.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Thanks, Dee. If you have any other ones, shoot us
a call. 877-937-1047 or DM John J. Van Ness. It's
John J. and Rich.
Speaker 14 (23:47):
Stop just yelling at the radio. Call us.
Speaker 7 (23:52):
877-937-1047.
Speaker 14 (23:52):
It's John J. and Rich.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
The drunk dial line is 602-888-1933. The talkback feature is
on the free iHeartRadio app. You just tap the microphone
and leave us a message. We got some talkbacks. We
got some drunk dials.
Speaker 24 (24:06):
Don't put bananas in the book.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
I said, don't put bananas in my butt.
Speaker 12 (24:11):
I told you many times before.
Speaker 24 (24:15):
My butt is not a banana door.
Speaker 9 (24:19):
No, I'm a physician, and I cannot fuck you myself.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 11 (24:28):
I am a physician.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
That is hilarious.
Speaker 8 (24:31):
Didn't see that coming.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
It's a very catchy song, man. I've made two videos
on it. Now that she said it, it's going to
be stuck in my head. Don't put bananas in my butt. No,
don't put bananas in my butt.
Speaker 12 (24:42):
I've told you several times before.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
My butt is not a banana door. Such a catchy song.
Speaker 9 (24:49):
My weird rule is no garbage is allowed to be
put in the garbage can in the kitchen. All garbage
goes in a grocery bag, gets tied, and then out
to the garage freezer and puts in the freezer. And
then the night before garbage, it comes out of the
(25:10):
freezer and goes into the garbage can down by the streets.
I had a terrible maggot story.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Oh, God.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
I'm like, is this my meme? Because we have that
same rule.
Speaker 11 (25:21):
You just can't throw away trash?
Speaker 4 (25:23):
Yeah, trash is not allowed to go in the actual
trash can. It either has to go down the garbage
disposal or it has to go into the freezer and
wait there till trash day to take it out. Because
then the trash can stinks.
Speaker 8 (25:34):
That's like my father-in-law, but he, like, there isn't, like,
the freezer option. He'll, like, take it to a dumpster
away from his house.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Yeah, that's funny.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
I mean, I get it because, like, I mean, you
have the maggots. And then in Arizona, it gets so
hot out here.
Speaker 11 (25:46):
It does smell terrible.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
If your trash is just sitting in there, ugh.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Is there a good maggot story? No, probably not.
Speaker 14 (25:52):
I wouldn't think so.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Ugh, gross. Oh, that's her? Chris, hello.
Speaker 17 (25:58):
So a long time ago, I had two roommates. And
I always said, don't put any garbage in the garbage.
I hate that garbage just sits in the can for
days on end until it's garbage day. So one day
I'm vacuuming and there is rice on my floor, but
the rice was moving. So all of a sudden I'm like,
this is why you guys, you don't put, you know,
(26:21):
garbage in the garbage can. So ever since then, I've
had a rule that no garbage goes in my garbage can.
I have a garbage can in my kitchen and, That
is for show, but no garbage goes into it. So
what I do, you know, I don't want to look
totally weird and not have a garbage can. So what
I do is when I come home from work, I'll
make dinner, and all the garbage of food and whatnot
(26:43):
goes into a grocery bag, and then it goes out
into my garage freezer.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
We have two people in the show that completely relate
to that. Peyton's grandma and Kyle's father-in-law does the same
thing you do.
Speaker 16 (26:53):
Well, that's perfect.
Speaker 17 (26:54):
I think it's genius.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
I'm not going to lie. When I buy a house,
I probably will try to move forward with the same
kind of like rules per se, because it does your
trash gets stinky and that's gross.
Speaker 11 (27:06):
It's true.
Speaker 10 (27:08):
And I live alone.
Speaker 16 (27:09):
I live alone.
Speaker 17 (27:11):
So I don't have that much garbage. Like if I
make dinner or whatnot during the week, I don't have
that much garbage. I'm not going to let it just
sit in the garbage can in the kitchen.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Good call.
Speaker 8 (27:20):
I mean, I get it.
Speaker 17 (27:21):
So everyone always laughs at me that my garbage is
in the freezer. My family thinks it's ridiculous, and they
laugh at me.
Speaker 11 (27:26):
But look how good your house smells all the time.
Speaker 14 (27:29):
It does.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
It does.
Speaker 17 (27:30):
But you know what it smells from, though? I have
a rescue dog, John Jay.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Oh.
Speaker 17 (27:35):
So, you know, yes, I'm with Arizona Golden Rescue.
Speaker 11 (27:38):
Oh, that's awesome.
Speaker 17 (27:40):
Arizona Golden Rescue.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Yeah, great organization.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Yes, big time.
Speaker 17 (27:44):
And another thing, John Jay– Um, you had a bit
on months ago about meeting somebody and totally like messing
up the meeting and being so like shy and nervous.
And I was so shy and nervous to meet you
at one of the family fest two years ago. I
look like a complete idiot when I met you.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Oh, come on. I remember you.
Speaker 11 (28:05):
No, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 12 (28:08):
Oh, Chris.
Speaker 16 (28:08):
Yeah, I bet you do.
Speaker 17 (28:09):
I was a stumbling idiot. I'm like, oh, I'm from
Golden Rescue.
Speaker 9 (28:13):
Anyways.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Well, it was great to meet you, Chris, and I
hope you come to Family Fest this year. It's November 7th.
Speaker 12 (28:19):
I will.
Speaker 17 (28:19):
I come every year.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Great.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Great.
Speaker 9 (28:21):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Can't wait to see you. All right, you guys. Say
hi to me again. Let's meet there. We'll meet at
the Golden Rescue area.
Speaker 18 (28:26):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
All right.
Speaker 17 (28:26):
Hopefully, I won't be a babbling idiot this time.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
I'll meet you there. Thanks, Chris. Have a great day.
Speaker 17 (28:31):
Thanks, John Jay.
Speaker 13 (28:31):
Have a good day, you guys.
Speaker 14 (28:32):
Call us now.
Speaker 13 (28:34):
Hello.
Speaker 12 (28:36):
877-937-1047.
Speaker 14 (28:37):
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Jessica, good morning. What's up? You're on the air.
Speaker 20 (28:43):
Hi, good morning.
Speaker 15 (28:44):
I was calling about a funny Rich story.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Okay.
Speaker 15 (28:47):
So a couple weeks ago, I actually called your show,
and I told you the same story, John Jay, but
you put me on hold, and then by the time
you came back, it had disconnected.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 10 (29:01):
Sorry.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Sorry.
Speaker 15 (29:02):
No, that's okay. I know that you guys have a
lot of problems with your phones.
Speaker 12 (29:06):
We do indeed.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
What was the Rich story?
Speaker 15 (29:12):
So, a while back, you guys had did an episode
where somebody was talking about that they saw Rich at
the gym. And then somebody from your show, I think
they were asking about like, oh, okay, well, when you
saw him at the gym, what happened? like exercise equipment
(29:32):
was using. Does it sound familiar?
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Rich at the gym does not sound familiar. to me.
But go ahead.
Speaker 11 (29:40):
Well, I think one of them was Peyton's friends and
she said that she just saw me walking around talking
to people.
Speaker 14 (29:44):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 11 (29:45):
Which does happen a lot.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
So what is your story?
Speaker 15 (29:48):
So what I had called about was like, yeah, instead
of him going or instead of him actually using gym equipment,
he was just walking around talking to everybody. And that
just reminded me, you know, those progressive commercials where they
say that you turn into your parents, like this is
a sign that you're turning into your parents. I feel
(30:11):
like that is totally the typical scenario where you're just
going around talking to everybody at the gym, but everyone's
like busy doing stuff. And he's just going around chatting
it up with everybody.
Speaker 11 (30:24):
There's one of those commercials that my wife pointed out.
She's like, that's you. And it's when the guy's in
the back of an Uber and he's chatting up the
Uber driver and becoming friends with the Uber driver. And
he's like, you're doing a great job. That is totally me.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
No, you are really good at that. You know, the
other day when we were in, we were in Reading
and the owner of the radio station picked us up
and I always sit in the back seat and Rich
is in the front seat and Rich is just talking away.
And I'm just sitting back there. I'm like, thank God
that he's here.
Speaker 11 (30:51):
Thank God.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
I'm just sitting back there. I have nothing to say.
I'm talking the whole way there.
Speaker 11 (30:57):
I make friends on the plane on the way there,
on the way back.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Yeah, Rich, you are such a good Uber chatter that you, like,
get the same Uber driver on your way back home. Like,
you get their number, and you don't even go through
the app.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
You just text them personally.
Speaker 11 (31:10):
Want to hit up a taco shop? Ask them to
pick you up in 30 minutes around the corner.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Jessica, thanks for calling in.
Speaker 16 (31:16):
All right.
Speaker 15 (31:17):
Thank you.
Speaker 16 (31:17):
Bye.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Have a great day.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
The next segment we're going to do is called Second
Date Update because that's what we're going to try and get,
and that's what the bit is called. Second Date Update
starts right now on John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Marina, good morning. You're on the air.
Speaker 16 (31:32):
Hey, John Jay and Rich. I have a question for you.
It's a little debate that I've been having with my friends,
and I'm curious about your opinion.
Speaker 5 (31:39):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
What happened?
Speaker 16 (31:42):
So, I'm sorry, but if a guy asks me out
on a date, and he's asking me to go somewhere
where we're obviously going to have drinks, I 100% think
that this guy should be paying for my Uber there
and back, right? I mean, to me, that's part of
asking someone on a date, is caring about how I'm
going to get there in the first place. When you're
(32:04):
inviting me out, you're choosing to pursue me. I mean,
so yeah, I think making sure that I get there
home safely... That is a huge part of the deal.
Speaker 11 (32:15):
And I told my friends about this. Did he offer
to come pick you up?
Speaker 16 (32:21):
No, nothing.
Speaker 12 (32:22):
No.
Speaker 16 (32:24):
Yeah, and I told my friends. I told them about it.
And I told them I'm not going to see this
guy again because he didn't even offer to get my Uber.
And they're the ones acting like I'm being high maintenance.
I don't think I'm being high maintenance. I think that
the dating has gotten so casual and the bar has
gotten so low that we've removed the bar and we've
(32:46):
convinced ourselves that basic effort is asking for too much. Well,
for me, it's a non-negotiable. If you ask me out,
the Uber is on you.
Speaker 11 (32:54):
Interesting.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
This has been a debate I've seen like on Reddit
or something like that. This is the thing now. And
it used to not be like back in the day,
back in the day before Uber, when you ask somebody
on a date, Wouldn't you just go in your own
car and meet somebody on a date?
Speaker 8 (33:08):
Well, if you're talking about way back in the day,
your date would pick you up. But that's not always
safe these days.
Speaker 11 (33:14):
If you're uncomfortable with giving him your address, well, you
gave him your address for the Uber. So that takes
that out of it. You're saying it's your first date, right?
This guy and you have never gone out before. And
you know you're going to go to a place where
you probably are going to drink a lot. You're saying
if you care enough about me to ask me out
to go to a bar, you should cover the drinks
and the Uber there and back.
Speaker 8 (33:36):
OK, so I have a question is so you told
your friends you're not going to go out with this
guy again. Was the rest of the date spectacular? And
it's literally just that that he didn't pay for you
Uber or were you already kind of not liking him?
And then he didn't pay for the Uber and you're like,
that's it.
Speaker 16 (33:50):
No, I mean, the date was actually, like, pretty nice.
He's funny.
Speaker 13 (33:54):
He was nice.
Speaker 16 (33:55):
You know, but to me, like, that's not enough. Because
when you get down to it, those things kind of
fade once you start having problems. You know, and I
think that that's just kind of, like, the beginning. If
somebody doesn't have the, like, the, like, awareness for my
safety from the get-go, I think there's going to be
other things down the line that I'm going to have
(34:16):
to coach.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
You want, like, a... You want a guy that's going to, like,
think before, you know, and be ahead of the game
a little bit and be a little courteous before, you know,
you even think about it. I get it.
Speaker 14 (34:26):
I understand.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
I probably wouldn't be like, I'm never going to see
him again. But it would be a nice gesture if
he did it.
Speaker 11 (34:33):
Just so I understand, are you mad that he didn't
offer or did you ask and he said no?
Speaker 16 (34:38):
No, I'm mad that he didn't even offer. If I
asked and he said no, I absolutely would not have
met up with him.
Speaker 10 (34:44):
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Okay, so now this is a guy you go out with.
He doesn't offer. And now you're ghosting him? Has he
reached out to you? Did he have a good time?
Does he know you're upset?
Speaker 16 (34:53):
No, I don't know what he thinks or what he feels.
But I feel like at our age, he should already
have been like, oh, that's something I probably should have done.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
I would love to hear his point of view on this.
When was the last time you went out with this
guy or saw this guy? When was his date?
Speaker 16 (35:10):
Probably a couple weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
So has he reached out to you?
Speaker 16 (35:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
And you just go.
Speaker 16 (35:16):
Yeah, I just stopped responding.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Would you be opposed to us calling him? I'd like
to get his. I wonder if he knows.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
You know what?
Speaker 16 (35:24):
I am curious.
Speaker 23 (35:25):
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Because I mean, just my opinion. I don't think that's
you ask someone to go on a date. You meet
at the movie or you meet at the restaurant. You
kind of get there on your own.
Speaker 11 (35:35):
It's weird. It's like I think I would probably offer
to pay, and then I don't know how I'd feel
if she demanded I pay for the Uber. I don't
know how I'd feel. I guess it depends on how
into the person you are.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
So can you hold on for a second, and we'll
get his number from you and call him?
Speaker 16 (35:48):
Yeah, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
What is his name?
Speaker 6 (35:50):
Julian.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Okay, hold on for one second. Got to call this
guy and find out. I mean, this is interesting to
give you a different point of view of, like, we're
kind of forcing a second date.
Speaker 8 (36:00):
It's like a backwards second date update.
Speaker 11 (36:02):
He has no idea why he's being ghosted. I promise
you that.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
I wonder if he's even thought about it. No, he
hasn't thought about it. So hold on. We're going to
call Julian to find out what he's going through right now.
It's an impromptu second date update. This is Next with
John Jane Rich.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
John!
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Kind of in the middle of an interesting second date update,
we got Marina on the line. She just called to
tell us, right, Marina, you were saying if you go
on a date with a guy, he should pay for
the Uber, right?
Speaker 12 (36:25):
Right.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
First date. You went on a first date with Julian.
He didn't pay for the Uber. You had a good
time on the date, but they pissed you off that
he didn't pay for your Uber or offer to pay.
That is correct. And you've ghosted him since. And it
was a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 16 (36:39):
Yeah, I don't love the term ghosting, but I guess
that's what happened.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
All right, so we're going to get him on the phone. Actually,
he's ready to go on the phone. Okay, good. Hold
on for one second. Let's patch him through. Patch him through. Hey, Julian.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Hey, this is John Jane Rich.
Speaker 5 (36:52):
Okay.
Speaker 12 (36:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (36:54):
So we took a call from a woman, and she
was kind of talking about dating. And she said that
she will never date a guy again if he doesn't
pay for the Uber. And the story is, you're the
guy she went out with. and you didn't offer to
pay for the Uber, and she's ghosting you. So have
you been ghosted by anybody recently?
Speaker 5 (37:14):
Yeah, that to me is ridiculous. You know, honestly, I
had no idea why she ghosted me. You know, it
came out of nowhere, but now that you're saying that, honestly,
I think that's absolutely insane.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
Okay, so who ghosted you? Let's make sure we're talking
about the right person, or maybe you get ghosted by everybody.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
Marina.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Yes, that's it.
Speaker 12 (37:31):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
So she's ghosting you because you didn't offer to pay
for her Uber, by the way.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
Yeah, that's... that's honestly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Speaker 23 (37:40):
Sorry.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
I mean, that's just, I mean, I didn't know why
she goes to me. I thought things went pretty good.
You know, I mean, I checked in with her a
couple of days later, just trying to see if she
was good. I got nothing back. And, you know, I
wasn't going to just keep blowing up her phone or
hounding her or anything. So, you know, I thought we
were on the same page, but clearly we are not
on the same page because that First of all, she
(38:02):
didn't even mention that at all. So I would have
had to imagine that out of air. This woman wants
me to pay for her Uber, obviously. Had no idea.
And secondly, even if she had asked me, I would
have told her she was out of her damn mind.
Speaker 11 (38:19):
Wait, didn't you drink together?
Speaker 17 (38:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
So you don't feel like that's maybe a nice thing
to do for your date? Like if you're going to
go and get her all liquored up?
Speaker 2 (38:29):
I think on the way, at the end of the date,
you're drinking, you're like, oh man, you're too drunk. You know, hey,
let me get your Uber. But to set up a date,
you call somebody, you meet somebody on an app or
whatever it is, and you're like, hey, would you like
to go to dinner next week? Yeah, absolutely. Okay, let's
go to this restaurant and meet you there at seven.
I can't say it. we'll go to this restaurant, meet
you there at seven. What's your address? I'll send an
Uber to pick you up. I think that seems a
little too, I'd wait.
Speaker 8 (38:48):
I understand the getting there.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
Oh, heck yeah.
Speaker 8 (38:51):
I understand that you got to get there on your own,
but yes, I think it would be like kind of
nice if you were drinking and you went to New York,
then you should have offered. But the fact like, I
kind of wish Julian was like, oh yeah, that would
have been a really great idea. Like I've, but like
his reaction makes me feel like I think Marina was
onto something.
Speaker 10 (39:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
By the way, Marina.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
Is this the standard out there?
Speaker 2 (39:13):
I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 11 (39:15):
We're figuring it out.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
We're trying to figure it out, but Marina's on the phone.
And Marina, here's the guy you ghosted.
Speaker 10 (39:20):
Yes.
Speaker 16 (39:21):
Hi, Julian. Marina is on the phone. Marina heard everything.
um and i'm sorry but julian just proved my point
exactly because as nice as someone can be and julian
you are very nice um i had a great time
i'm not gonna lie um and i am sorry for
the ghosting however i'm not sorry that i um have
(39:44):
enough discernment to see what this would be down the
line Because I'm not in this to build a boyfriend.
I've done this way too long. And if something as
basic as not even offering to get my Uber is
just the beginning, that would be a whole other slew
of problems where I would have to teach you along
(40:05):
the way.
Speaker 5 (40:05):
Just basic chivalry.
Speaker 16 (40:07):
The fact that basic chivalry to you is the dumbest
thing that you've ever heard is Huge red flag. That's
a red flag factory.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
You said you've been doing this a lot. You've been
dating a long time. You've been dating?
Speaker 16 (40:20):
Yeah, of course. Been dating since I was a teenager.
Speaker 5 (40:22):
And you're still single?
Speaker 10 (40:24):
Ooh.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
Are you? Ooh. No, I'm already seeing someone else.
Speaker 10 (40:29):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (40:30):
I don't love you.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
I got it. I got it.
Speaker 5 (40:32):
Three days in a row.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
What did you say, Kyle?
Speaker 8 (40:35):
I just said I don't love Julian.
Speaker 11 (40:40):
The thing that bugged you gave way to a lot
of other stuff about Julian. So you picked up on
something right away. Because I can't imagine.
Speaker 16 (40:47):
We're just adding fuel to the fire because he's already
dating someone else. But I have text messages from him
three days in a row.
Speaker 12 (40:54):
So that's weird.
Speaker 11 (40:56):
Yeah, Julie, I can't imagine somebody, hey, I'm a little buzzed.
I need to get a ride home and you not
offer to pay. That is kind of.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
I think that's not the story. The story is it
wasn't she got buzzed. It was that, hey, we're going
to go on a date before you even know you're
going to get drunk. I get that.
Speaker 11 (41:13):
I'm trying to give him an out and he's not
even taking the out.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
I think we all agree that she gets drunk on
the way home, you pay for the Uber. But going
on a first date with someone, I think saying, I'm
going to pay for your Uber.
Speaker 8 (41:23):
Yeah, but Julian didn't agree with that.
Speaker 5 (41:26):
Right. To go get blasted or anything. This is a
first date. We're going to meet for drinks, a couple
of drinks. I drove, you know, and she didn't even say, oh,
you know, she was just like, all right, well, I'm
going to order my Uber, you know, and head home.
(41:47):
And I'm like, OK, it was really nice. You know,
have a good night.
Speaker 20 (41:51):
You know, and.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Nothing in my mind was like, oh, I need to
make sure to cover this girl's Uber. I even paid
for some of the drinks. I didn't pay for all
those drinks.
Speaker 12 (42:00):
You did?
Speaker 11 (42:02):
Oh, man, I'm liking you less and less.
Speaker 16 (42:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (42:04):
You didn't cover the date.
Speaker 8 (42:06):
It's hard to be on his side.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
If you keep this, like there's so much more on
this date now that's caused it to go sideways. But
if you're going on a first date, does the guy
pay for the Uber?
Speaker 11 (42:19):
He asked her out.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Yes. He pays for the Uber. That's an automatic.
Speaker 11 (42:22):
She doesn't have a way to get there.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
But now you're adding something else to the story. If
she doesn't have a way to get there. If you
meet somebody, if you go on a dating app and
you ask to go on a date and we're going
to go meet at this restaurant at seven o'clock.
Speaker 8 (42:31):
Does it change if you're meeting at a bar and
you know, there's going to be alcohol involved.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Well, then that's changing it still. It's a date. It's
a date at a restaurant. Most likely it's a date
at a restaurant. Whatever. She's saying date no matter what.
It's a date at a restaurant. First date, I'm on
a dating app. We're going to go meet at this
restaurant at Chili's at 7 o'clock. Is the guy supposed
to say, let me send you an Uber? That's nice
if he does.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
Let me tell you something. I know a couple of
guys that have tried to pay for a girl that
they met on Tinder. The girl was like, well, I
can't really get there, but if you could send me
money for my Uber... And so they sent 20, 30
bucks and never heard from that girl again.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
Well, again, that's part of, that's adding to the story.
But I think on the basic, if you're going on
a first date with somebody, is it the guy's job
to say, is it obligation? I think it's probably nice
of him to do that, but it's also, you know,
he doesn't have to show up at the date. That's
like a girl saying, Hey, I went on a date
with a guy and he didn't bring me flowers. You
should have brought me flowers.
Speaker 11 (43:28):
That's true. You make a point.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Like, you know, I just feel it. So it's a big,
and by the way, every phone line is lit up
right now. You guys, we got, it's a, Apparently it's
a big controversy.
Speaker 6 (43:36):
877-937-1047.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
I want to know if the majority of guys.
Speaker 5 (43:41):
For her, have been offering her Ubers, or maybe that's
the reason why she's still single. She's got a very
impossibly high standard, and most guys are not going to
meet her. But, you know, good luck to you. Maybe
there's one out there.
Speaker 16 (43:51):
Maybe you're still single because the bar is so low
that the world has just removed the bar.
Speaker 5 (43:58):
I told you I'm not single. I'm single, man.
Speaker 16 (44:00):
And then I'm trying to.
Speaker 11 (44:01):
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 (44:02):
He's moved on.
Speaker 16 (44:03):
I'm sure I would be... No, I would be holding
the door open for you, I am sure. And a
few months in, I would be paying for your drinks.
You're making yourself look real icky.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Okay, so listen. So I asked you if we could
call Julian. This isn't part of what is going to happen,
because this is now a second date update, unintentionally. Would
you like to go out on a second date? We'll
pay for it, and we'll even pay for the Uber.
Speaker 16 (44:27):
I'm going to let this genius guess if I'm going
to be there for a second date or not.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Well, he's got things.
Speaker 16 (44:31):
Do you think I'm going to be there for a
second date?
Speaker 5 (44:35):
I can't go on a second date. I'm seeing somebody else.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
All right. All right. So no second date.
Speaker 11 (44:40):
He's a one woman man.
Speaker 5 (44:42):
Disastrous.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
All right, you guys. Thanks for jumping on the air
with us, both of you. Thank you for calling in, Marina.
Thanks for bringing this debate to us. It's a huge
debate right now. We'll get to it next. It's John
Jay and Rich.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
If chaos was a radio show, you're listening to it.
Speaker 14 (44:57):
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
Okay, so I saw on the news that the Wheel
of Fortune announcer got suspended. In fact, his name is
Jim Thornton. He's been suspended from the show. It seems
some pastor made some allegations against him on American Airlines
back in May. law enforcement met him at the plane
when it landed. So that tells me it's not something
he said something rude. That tells me he did something.
Speaker 11 (45:20):
He wasn't snoring loud or taking his shoes off on
the plane. He was doing something greatly offensive if they
met him at the gate.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
So I believe it was probably something sexual. He probably
did something.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
Either he touched somebody or he touched himself or something.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
So they're going to fire him and they're going to
look for a new announcer. Here's what we're going to do.
I think everybody on the show, and 877-937-1047, we'll set
you up with my chemical romance tickets. But we want
you to audition to be the new announcer for Wheel
of Fortune. So call us with your best announcer voice.
We'll do it right now. And I feel, because I
(45:56):
think he did something lewd, that that should come up
in your announcing.
Speaker 5 (46:00):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 16 (46:01):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (46:02):
But in radio-friendly terms.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
Yeah, yeah. Don't be dirty.
Speaker 12 (46:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
I mean, you've got to be.
Speaker 8 (46:08):
Like a sneakily creepy thing to say.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Like here. Okay, you ready? Turn me up.
Speaker 7 (46:13):
And now it's time to spin the big wheel harder. No,
harder than that. Pat, I'd like to buy a Val
and maybe take you out for drinks afterwards. Let's play
Wheel of Fortune. That's right, ladies. Big money. She's chosen
the letter R and judging by the way she said it,
(46:34):
she's very confident with her R.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
I don't know. You got to come up with yourself.
You have 30 seconds to solve the puzzle.
Speaker 7 (46:42):
Take your time. I'm enjoying watching you work.
Speaker 11 (46:45):
It's creepy.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
So you got to be creepy. Creepy Wheel of Fortune announcer.
Speaker 11 (46:49):
I'll try. When you spin the wheel, your prize could
be a brand new Hyundai Elantra. I'd like to get
in the back seat with you in your brand new
Hyundai Elantra.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
That's right, Rich.
Speaker 7 (47:02):
The category is things you do in bed, and somehow
we got a family show to finish. She's going to
buy an O.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Excellent choice. Everybody loves a good O.
Speaker 11 (47:14):
This is another game that we play where John Jay
can make everything sound a little disturbing.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
So spin the wheel of fortune. Kyle, you want to try?
Speaker 12 (47:19):
Sure, sure.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Let me give you the intro.
Speaker 10 (47:21):
You ready?
Speaker 2 (47:21):
And three, two.
Speaker 8 (47:25):
Go ahead and spin that wheel. But remember, contestants, firm grip,
smooth motion, and don't stop until it lands.
Speaker 6 (47:34):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Oh, my God. Yours is so much better.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
You guys are so clever.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Yours is so much better.
Speaker 10 (47:39):
Gross.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
Aaron, are you there? Aaron, you ready?
Speaker 12 (47:42):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (47:43):
Take it away.
Speaker 18 (47:44):
Welcome to Wheel of Fortune.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
That's all I got. No, you've got to do more
than that.
Speaker 11 (47:53):
Hold on, hold on. He's not getting the job.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
Lexi, show them how to do it. Go ahead, Lexi.
Speaker 24 (47:58):
Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 14 (47:59):
My name is Lexi.
Speaker 24 (48:00):
Welcome to the Wheel of Fortune.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
We are ready to spin it.
Speaker 16 (48:03):
We are ready to win it.
Speaker 22 (48:04):
We are ready to strip it, lick it.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Or whatever you'd like to do.
Speaker 11 (48:08):
As long as you are.
Speaker 22 (48:09):
Doing it from a thousand feet in the air, okay?
Speaker 12 (48:12):
That's how you win.
Speaker 23 (48:13):
That's how you win.
Speaker 12 (48:19):
Did I win?
Speaker 16 (48:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (48:20):
So many feelings.
Speaker 6 (48:23):
Yeah, you win.
Speaker 15 (48:24):
I just made my 16-year-old daughter the happiest girl.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
Lexi. Yeah. We're going to send your clip. We're going
to send this to Ryan Secrets to see if he'd
actually hire you for the job. I think it'd be great,
but we're going to send you.
Speaker 13 (48:39):
I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (48:40):
My chemical romance tickets for you, Lexi. My chemical romance.
Speaker 5 (48:43):
Holy cow.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
Thank you. Jenny, what's up? Do you have an idea?
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Kyle.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
Yes.
Speaker 20 (48:48):
You should have your husband audition for that.
Speaker 5 (48:51):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
You're right.
Speaker 14 (48:53):
Jenny, great idea.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Guess what? Guess who's on the phone? Kyle's husband, Fish.
Speaker 6 (48:59):
Fish?
Speaker 7 (49:00):
It's time to spin the wheel.
Speaker 5 (49:03):
Good morning, John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Man, they should totally hire him. Scott, you can do
it from your house even. You don't even have to
be there, unless they probably want you to be there.
Speaker 7 (49:14):
I'm doing it in my underwear.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
Oh, boy, he's good.
Speaker 11 (49:20):
He's good.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
Oh, that's a pro right there.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Fish, for real, do you have an agent? Can you, like,
talk to them?
Speaker 4 (49:25):
You should.
Speaker 8 (49:26):
That's a good idea.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (49:27):
Yeah, will you be my agent, John Jay?
Speaker 8 (49:30):
John Jay is a good agent.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
I would.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
I'd be a great agent. I went through that phase.
I'll get you the gig.
Speaker 8 (49:35):
It was your connections, John Jay.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
For real. I'll talk to you. I've got to talk
to you. Jenny, great idea. Fish, you are so talented.
Speaker 8 (49:41):
Loved it.
Speaker 16 (49:41):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 12 (49:42):
I love you guys.
Speaker 1 (49:43):
Love you, too.
Speaker 6 (49:43):
Bye.
Speaker 16 (49:43):
All right.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
I don't know how to hang up.
Speaker 11 (49:45):
I got it.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
I got it. Too many buttons on this phone.
Speaker 14 (49:48):
The commercials are finally over. Let's get back to John
Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (49:54):
Alexis, good morning. You are our contestant for Beaches M.
How are you?
Speaker 22 (49:59):
I'm doing great.
Speaker 16 (50:00):
How are you guys?
Speaker 2 (50:01):
All right, we're going to play Beach Shazam. You're going
to win some tickets to Gold Rush, see Deadmau5, Martin Garrix. Oh,
I hear another little contestant there.
Speaker 24 (50:10):
That's my little helper.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Okay, let's play, Nick.
Speaker 14 (50:15):
We're playing Beach Shazam today, you guys.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
It is officially September, and that means the iHeartRadio Music
Festival is this month, and I have chosen artists from
said festival. If you can give me the title and
the artist of said song, you will get two points.
Speaker 14 (50:32):
If you get one or the other, you get one point.
You get seven seconds to do it. We're going to start.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
With John Jay. Snoop Dogg, Drop It Like It's Hot.
Speaker 14 (50:39):
Let's go.
Speaker 6 (50:40):
All right.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
Easy two points with John Jay. You know anybody on
that song as well?
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Somebody else, like a feature?
Speaker 16 (50:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (50:48):
Who?
Speaker 7 (50:48):
Who?
Speaker 4 (50:51):
Oh, Pharrell?
Speaker 2 (50:51):
Oh, good.
Speaker 14 (50:52):
There you go, Alexis. Stealing a point. Didn't even need
to try.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
Good job.
Speaker 14 (50:59):
All right. John Jay, two points.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
Rich?
Speaker 11 (51:04):
Mystical, magical. That'd be Benson Boone.
Speaker 14 (51:07):
Yep, that's dose points for Rich. Good job. You guys
are nailing this.
Speaker 5 (51:15):
Peyton?
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Peyton?
Speaker 4 (51:16):
I'm just a Cardi B. I said I like it
like that. I'm with Benny, uh, with, uh, what's his name?
Bad Bunny.
Speaker 14 (51:25):
Bad Bunny?
Speaker 10 (51:25):
Yeah. Okay.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
I like it.
Speaker 12 (51:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (51:27):
You were, you got the two points. We were looking
for J Balvin, which was the feature on that. But, uh,
you can catch Cardi B at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Speaker 11 (51:36):
Uh, Kyle.
Speaker 14 (51:36):
Kyle. Well, that's Snoop Dogg.
Speaker 5 (51:44):
Peace.
Speaker 8 (51:45):
And the song, oh, my gosh.
Speaker 16 (51:46):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 8 (51:46):
The song is D-O-double-G.
Speaker 14 (51:48):
D-O-double-G.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
That's it.
Speaker 14 (51:50):
You did spell his name. That's good. We are looking
for Gin and Juice.
Speaker 9 (51:53):
Gin and Juice.
Speaker 14 (51:54):
Rolling down the street. All right. So heading to Alexis,
who already has one point.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
Here we go.
Speaker 16 (52:09):
Oh my goodness, is that? I'm terrible.
Speaker 24 (52:12):
Is it Zara Larson?
Speaker 14 (52:14):
Zara Larson, we are looking for BTS.
Speaker 1 (52:17):
But it's, yeah, Dynamite is the name of that song.
Speaker 14 (52:20):
That was a nice try. The lineup for this festival
is incredible, you guys. I just, going through it today,
I was like, oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
I know, it's insane. I like how Alexis got Pharrell.
Speaker 11 (52:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
But doesn't get the biggest band in the world.
Speaker 14 (52:31):
She's still having kids.
Speaker 20 (52:32):
No, it's okay.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
It's okay. I kind of get it.
Speaker 16 (52:35):
All right.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
So after one round, John Jay, Rich, and Peyton all
have two points. Kyle and Alexis each have one. Round
two starts with John Jay.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
Zara Larson. And it's that one song. It's called the
Midnight Blue.
Speaker 10 (52:53):
Wait.
Speaker 5 (52:54):
Yeah. Close.
Speaker 14 (52:56):
Alexis.
Speaker 22 (52:57):
Midnight Sun.
Speaker 14 (52:58):
Midnight Sun. All right. Good job, Alexis. All right. John
Jay taking commanding lead with three points.
Speaker 18 (53:05):
Rich.
Speaker 11 (53:07):
Don't want the world to see me. That's the Goo
Goo Dolls.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 11 (53:12):
The song Iris.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
Yep.
Speaker 14 (53:14):
All right.
Speaker 11 (53:15):
From the movie where Meg Ryan gets hit by a
lumber truck.
Speaker 14 (53:17):
City of Angels.
Speaker 11 (53:19):
That's right.
Speaker 14 (53:19):
City of Angels is the name of that movie.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
Good job, Rich.
Speaker 14 (53:22):
Four points for Rich in today's game.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Peyton. I ain't got a thing, but I think maybe
I just.
Speaker 14 (53:28):
Oh, Swim.
Speaker 11 (53:29):
BTS.
Speaker 8 (53:30):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (53:30):
All right.
Speaker 14 (53:31):
Tying up Rich Berra. Peyton with two points. Now four points.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
Kyle.
Speaker 14 (53:39):
I don't.
Speaker 8 (53:42):
Want to say it because I really like the song,
but that's Sierra One Two Step.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
Wow.
Speaker 14 (53:45):
All right.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (53:47):
Good job. Do you know who's in that song as well?
Speaker 1 (53:50):
I don't.
Speaker 10 (53:51):
Pharrell.
Speaker 11 (53:52):
Missy.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Missy.
Speaker 14 (53:54):
Missy Misdemeanor Elliott.
Speaker 10 (53:56):
All right.
Speaker 1 (53:57):
Alexis, if you can get this, we'll give you five
points and you get to go to the Gold Rush
Music Festival. Unless it's a Pharrell question, she's not going
(54:18):
to get it right. Everybody in the room, who is it?
Speaker 15 (54:20):
Give me a Snoop Dogg question.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
Benson Boone.
Speaker 14 (54:24):
Benson Boone.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
It's been to me. Alexis, thanks for listening. We are
going to set you up with those tickets so you
can see Martin Garrix, Deadmau5, and DJ Pauly a lot more.
Thank you for listening.
Speaker 13 (54:34):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 20 (54:35):
Love it.
Speaker 17 (54:36):
Have a good day.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
You know when it gets to last call and all
the dudes kind of start creeping up on you?
Speaker 14 (54:42):
We have the solution.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
Give them the John Jay and Rich Drunk Dial Line, 602-888-1933.
It's John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (54:52):
Rich, what are today's national days?
Speaker 11 (54:54):
It's National VJ Day, and I'm not talking about the
people that used to talk about videos on MTV. It's
the day that World War II ended. National Blueberry Popsicle
Day also kicks off National Blueberry Popsicle Month Day. National
No Patrick Day. That's about SpongeBob.
Speaker 5 (55:13):
Oh.
Speaker 11 (55:14):
It's a SpongeBob.
Speaker 14 (55:15):
No Patrick's Day.
Speaker 11 (55:16):
No Patrick Day. I don't like that day.
Speaker 8 (55:18):
Should be interesting if the Lindsay Clancy case have something
like that that happens today.
Speaker 5 (55:21):
No, literally.
Speaker 4 (55:22):
Her husband's name's Patrick. No Patrick.
Speaker 14 (55:24):
No Patrick.
Speaker 11 (55:25):
A No Patrick Day. It is World Coconut Day and
National Pierce Your Ears Day.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
Oh, let's all get our ears pierced. Together. Did you
have an earring, John Jay? I pierced my left ear
when I was in college, and I still put it
in there. It doesn't close.
Speaker 14 (55:39):
That's fun.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
Yeah, it was fun. Except my dad wouldn't talk to me.
He thought I was gay. Oh, that's not fun. Yeah,
I'd come home, and I'd say, hey, Dad, I'm going
to go out to the clubs. Can I have 20 bucks?
And he'd be like, I think someone's talking to me.
Speaker 17 (55:52):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
I don't know if someone's talking to me or not.
And I'd be like, huh? And then I took my
earring out and I'd go, hey, daddy. Yes, son.
Speaker 11 (55:58):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 13 (55:59):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (55:59):
He's old school. Very, very old school. As we got older,
he loosened up a lot about that stuff. But he
was old school European. At any rate, I want to
get into this. Rich says he's got the meanest, nicest wife.
Speaker 11 (56:13):
It's true. My wife is so sweet. most of the
time until I say one thing that annoys her. And
then she's pretty mean. I love her. We got the
greatest thing going. But this morning I was rushing her
to the airport at get this. She woke up at
one 30 and I woke up at one 50. So
she had a plane that took off at 5. AM,
(56:34):
but she needed to pack her things because she's going
to miss America, which happens over labor day. And she's,
you know, supporting the, the Arizona girls. She's the executive director.
So I'm, uh, Not able to do a whole lot.
I think you guys have seen me on crutches.
Speaker 2 (56:49):
You're in crutches, your knee's blown out, your hamstring's blown out.
Who knows what? We don't know yet.
Speaker 11 (56:54):
Yeah, I'm going to get my MRI today. So I'm
doing all the things that I can to help her.
I'm going through a checklist with her. But I realize
that she's in kind of a mood. And I also
realize that she's probably not used to being up at
dark o'clock like we are. So the conversation for her
doesn't really flow where I'm kind of waking up and
I'm getting my thing going. So she says to me,
(57:16):
I'm in a huge hurry. Can you at least pull
the car around? I know you're not going to be
able to pick up, you know, luggage and all that stuff.
I said, sure, no problem. So I pulled the car around.
She comes out, she lugs her bags in and she
gets in the car. She's like, I need you to
hurry because I don't want to be late. I would
have been on time. if anybody would have been able
to help me with my bags. I said, well, you know, I,
(57:41):
I did blow out my knee. You did see me
like writhing on the floor. And she's like, yeah. And
it's still, it's still, I know it's still bad. Go
get your, I'm already, I need to know what's going on.
And then we drove in, in, in somewhat silence. And
I'm trying, I'm like, well, I know your girls are
going to do great. Uh, you know, uh, just let
me know how they do. And I hope you have
a really, really great time on your trip. She's like, yeah,
(58:02):
I left the kitchen a mess. That's on you.
Speaker 4 (58:04):
She's like, you gotta handle your wifey duties.
Speaker 11 (58:08):
While I'm gone. Yeah, so I think my perkiness in
the morning kind of pissed her off and the fact
that I am not able to lug her out her bag.
She felt like maybe, you know, she probably could have
just got an Uber. They probably would have helped her out.
Speaker 8 (58:18):
Also, you know the stress of like the travel countdown?
Speaker 10 (58:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (58:23):
Especially if you don't have everything done and you're just
like last minute, like I have to do this, this, this.
And then you were like, oh wait, I have to
do this, this, and this, this too. And it would
be nice if my husband can help me. Of course
he's hurt, but like seriously.
Speaker 13 (58:31):
Right.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
And also if you're not a morning person and someone
is talking to you and just won't stop talking to
you and you're not a morning, that is the most
annoying thing ever.
Speaker 11 (58:39):
Then she's mad at me because I didn't tell her
that she could do her makeup in the car on
the way there. So she did her makeup before. And
that made her late for packing. So really, her time
management was kind of a total mess.
Speaker 2 (58:50):
So it's all your fault. She needs you to tell
her it's okay to do her makeup in the car?
Speaker 11 (58:52):
That's what she said. She's like, you could have told
me I could have done the makeup in the car
because you didn't tell me it was going to be
a 40-minute ride to the airport.
Speaker 2 (58:57):
It's her first time going to the airport?
Speaker 11 (58:58):
That's what I said.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
From where you guys live?
Speaker 11 (59:00):
You live here, too? So right now, my car is
a mess, too, because she's got mail. She's like, could
you just take this mail back inside? She's pulling stuff
out of her. purse and she doesn't need there's a
curling iron in the seat of my car that she
was mad she couldn't plug in i said i got
a hat that you can wear and she's like i
don't wear hats at the airport so she was fired
(59:20):
up but i think once her trip you know gets
you know once does she drink coffee She does. I
don't think she had any this morning.
Speaker 6 (59:27):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 11 (59:28):
I think she was sipping on a little tea this morning.
Speaker 2 (59:29):
So she's mean and nice.
Speaker 20 (59:31):
She was mean.
Speaker 11 (59:31):
She's absolutely lovely until she is time-pressed and stressed, and
then it's a little scary.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
So there's no compassion for you and your torn ligaments.
Speaker 11 (59:39):
Not even a little bit.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
Hey, by the way, so when she's gone this weekend,
like it's the three-day weekend, you're not going to get
on a plane and fly out to wherever she is.
Where are they doing the Miss America pageant? It is
in West Palm Beach.
Speaker 5 (59:49):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
What a fun place.
Speaker 11 (59:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
Is that where her sugar daddy is?
Speaker 11 (59:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (59:53):
She's like, no, Rich, you go ahead and stay home.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
You're fine.
Speaker 11 (59:56):
It turns out the other directors are very well-to-do.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
He wasn't hurt yet when she said that. You're hurt, Rich.
What do I mean I'm hurt? She pushed him in
the bathtub.
Speaker 11 (01:00:04):
No, man, I'm staying home. It's crutches and cocaine in
my house this week. That sounds like a party.
Speaker 4 (01:00:10):
Yikes.
Speaker 11 (01:00:12):
Anyway, we have fun.
Speaker 9 (01:00:15):
Wow.
Speaker 20 (01:00:16):
All right.
Speaker 11 (01:00:17):
I was getting it this morning.
Speaker 14 (01:00:18):
We want you to be part of the show. Call us.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
877-937-1047. Get on the air with John Jay and Rich.
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Women are sharing the most alarming things they've seen at
a guy's place for the first time. What's the most
nope thing you've seen when you went over to a
guy's house for the first time? Sometimes you walk into
someone's house, they say, and it can reveal more than
the person intended. So, Joanna, what did you see when
you walked into a guy's house?
Speaker 24 (01:00:48):
I saw a mural of him as a Greek god,
as in Poseidon.
Speaker 11 (01:00:52):
Whoa! Well, that's so good. How are we going to
top that?
Speaker 20 (01:00:57):
I don't know, but it was hilarious.
Speaker 24 (01:00:58):
He's like, well, I'm a water sign. He's like, but
I don't like the water. And I'm like, well, why
would you get that mural of yourself?
Speaker 16 (01:01:05):
But yeah, I was like, no, we got to go.
Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Did you see him again after that, or that was it?
Speaker 24 (01:01:12):
Um, we tried, but it was just really weird because
he was like petrified of the water, but he just
saw himself as a Poseidon. And I'm like, that's, that's
just weird. And, um, he's not even like Greek religion
or anything. He didn't actually.
Speaker 19 (01:01:27):
Believe in it, but he got the mural of himself.
Speaker 24 (01:01:30):
So it was just kind of like, is that really you?
Or is that just something you're just pretending? So it
looks cool.
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
I'm reading the comments on the Reddit thread. and your
comment is better than any of them. It says, here
are the top five most memorable responses, okay? It says,
a mattress that looked like a health hazard, a used
you-know-what on the floor, a roommate in one bed, a
giant photo of her face on the wall, and a
home overrun by animals. And Joanna is a guy painted
(01:02:01):
as a Poseidon mural. I think you win.
Speaker 11 (01:02:03):
That's hilarious.
Speaker 12 (01:02:05):
Oh, that's funny.
Speaker 11 (01:02:07):
I hope you tell that story everywhere you go, because
it is good.
Speaker 5 (01:02:10):
I do.
Speaker 24 (01:02:11):
It is hilarious.
Speaker 16 (01:02:12):
Cause I'm just like, yeah.
Speaker 24 (01:02:13):
Cause like, I'm like, I'm a water sign.
Speaker 18 (01:02:14):
So I'm like, that's cool.
Speaker 10 (01:02:15):
You know?
Speaker 24 (01:02:16):
And then, and he was like, no, I'm just, you know,
I don't even believe in it, but I got the
mural and I'm like, okay, well, that's just weird. Let's go.
Speaker 13 (01:02:24):
Bye.
Speaker 11 (01:02:24):
Is there any chance you snapped a picture of your
phone of said mural?
Speaker 24 (01:02:29):
Oh, this is like a long time ago. It was
like when I was in my early twenties in college.
So I didn't even like have a cool phone to
take the picture, to keep it on there. So I
couldn't even take a picture.
Speaker 20 (01:02:40):
But I don't know.
Speaker 24 (01:02:41):
It was really cool, but it definitely did not look
like him at all.
Speaker 8 (01:02:45):
You're like, keep dreaming.
Speaker 20 (01:02:47):
You're better looking than him.
Speaker 12 (01:02:48):
I'm just saying that.
Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
Well, thanks for calling in. Thank you very much for listening. Fantastic.
Speaker 12 (01:02:54):
Bye.
Speaker 10 (01:02:54):
Bye.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
Thanks.
Speaker 6 (01:02:55):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Broadcasting live across the world right now.
Speaker 14 (01:03:01):
This is the John Jay and Rich radio program.
