Speaker 1 (00:00):
From Hollywood to you, thank you for listening to US.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Air on Air with a Ryan Seacrest. Friday morning, January seventeenth,
we got mostly sunny today, considerably cooler, highs around sixty
all weekend long, and uh yeah, so get ready for that.
That's cold for us. It is, I mean dipping down
(00:26):
very cold in the evening in some places. The Rams
are going to play the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday,
after a big victory on Monday Night football. Thinking about
the Rams, you know, they start off the season kind
of rough. Yeah, but it didn't really matter. That's the
thing about the NFL, right, it kind of doesn't matter
some of those games until you get to this, uh
side of the of the schedule, waiting for what I
(00:50):
want to be. Joe Bucks sometimes so badly. Joe Buck
calls the games. I know, well some time it looks
at me without blinking, like she doesn't know who that is.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah, I don't know who that is.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Joe Buck calls every major sporting events, super Bowl, Baseball, everything,
He's the broadcaster. He's an icon.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, he sounds just like him.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I do not. He's much cooler. I mean, he says
things and you know that's funny. I'll watch the game,
He'll say things, and I'll say things.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Like you're talking to him.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
If I know, as if I'm on the error with him. Yeah,
because if I'm calling the game, it's weird.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Well, you never know when you're gonna get called in
for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Maybe maybe, maybe maybe ABC calls me and says, hey,
Joe Buck needs a sidekick anything.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
You never know.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
The day I'm down, I'm down. I want to do
a little NFL work. Ram started one in four, finished
ten and seven the NFC West champions, and LA needed
a story to cheer for.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Yes we did.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, sounds just like him.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
To me.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Sorry, exactly. Sorry, Joe, if you're listening, we're going to
try and to give you a little lighthearted fun. Today.
We are with you. And it's been a long month.
It's been another long week. We're into the weekend. But
Rams are playing the Eagles Sunday at noon in the
Division round of the NFL Playoffs. Looking forward to that.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
I got a feeling the right Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Rams play Eagles at Philly.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yet make it to the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
That's what you got to play all these games. But
I got a feeling something tells me that this might
be the la story we need right now, Like what
if let's take it, like what if storybook? Right we
go through this tragedy, this crisis. Can you imagine the
pride and the feeling of us making it and going
all the way and the city coming together for that
(02:41):
and what and we need something like that, like you need.
They always say, find someone to love, find something to do,
and find someone to cheer for.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
They say that, they say it that's so great. I
love it.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Find someone to love, find something to do, and find
something or someone to cheer for. I love that, and
we need that. Matt Stafford said, they played for the
people in the city. Of course, Matt's.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
They played very well. It was a great game.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
They were they were on one.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
So they could actually make it to the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yes, would you please become part of the city.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
No, because like the playoffs, stats and.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Start, it's almost like a they had played the wild cards,
they got up really.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Clean, so they had to get in and then now
it's like a tournament, so they're gonna they're knocking teams off,
like the Chargers got knocked off last week.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
So they're done. Continuing on if they beat the Eagles,
they go to the next range.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Okay, okay, that makes sense. See, thank you, Sysney.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Do you know they just wanted a few years ago
the Super Bowl? Right?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yeah, I was there.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
I do know that.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
So let's see what's a lighthearted story. What's the story
that has gone viral that here, there's a restaurant that's
gone viral for how they serve their dessert. A restaurant
in Sydney's right, let's go out land all away, let's go.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Way down under the land of Bluey.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
They've come up with the smartest way to make sure
you always have room for dessert. A little story like that.
You can order dessert by the spoonful.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
I love that idea.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
The whole dessert you order a spoon.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Because you always just want to bite.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Just a little sugar kick.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Right, that's a great And the table doesn't really want
to share that whole piece of whatever because then everyone's
dipping their spoons back in because we can all get.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Our own little plates. But it's kind of it's ice cream,
and get it grossed out when.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
It's ice cream? Who shares ice cream?
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Well, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
If it's a dessert and has like a glove of
ice cream on the side, and then like the cake
or a brownie, whatever it is, and everyone's going in
with their spoon.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
And we share whatever with whoever.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
But how about that just they offer the whole menu
of desserts with a spoonful of just that one.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Brilliant.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
But if you want two spoonfuls, can you order two
spoonful Just get the whole thing if you want to
give you a taste, two spoonfuls.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
In order to do that.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
I don't always say, well that's an eleant bite bite. Yeah,
so spooful. We need good stories like this right now.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
That's so cute. It probably comes in really cute.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
It's in you withy you No, I spell cute with
the y.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
I goes kaiut oh you do?
Speaker 2 (05:21):
I go see you you u y a?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
I was c a you.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
All right this morning? If you follow your horoscopes, how
is your Friday gonna go? Hopefully these are all good?
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Okay, well, these are your weekend plans according to your
zodiac sign. So things that you should do this weekend aries.
Time to let your hair down for a little karaoke, Taurus.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
This weekend.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Finish that project that's been hanging over your head.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Gemini. This weekend, make a date or two.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Cancer, take time this weekend to finish some sentimental projects.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Leo, start a big project this weekend. Virgo, try to
enjoy some time with sports. Libra, try making a love
connection Scorpio. This weekend is time to stand up for yourself, Sagittarius.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Dive into some music this weekend.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Capricorn, this will be a weekend filled with work for you.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Aquarius. Aquarius, make sure to spend time in community this weekend.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Amphises, do something to let out your emotions.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Hey, thanks Tony. When you wrote that, did you think,
Oh that's not a good one. Don't even replaced it.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Can't you change?
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Why did they come from the stares.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
From the stars? We'll find another star? Uh? The speaking
stars in the middle of the night preached to her
and then she drops them all down.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Is the workhorse of the zodiac.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Yeah, he should have a weekend off.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
I'd like to watch the game on Sunday. I think
we are so. Tanya is very excited that Mikayla is
doing exactly what her horoscope says she should do.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Tanya, yes, Mikayla just slacked me and said, letting my
hair down singing the main at their music festival this weekend.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
And that's exactly what her horoscope said.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
She should do what her horscopes says she should do?
And what does she? What are you, Mikayla, I'm an aries,
and what was your horoscope?
Speaker 1 (07:14):
It said let your hair down and sing some karaoke
for the record.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
I am in aries, and I will not be doing that.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
You might don't speak so soon.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Well see, I'll slack you and I do.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Uh yes, just the whole slacking. It's so weird. Can
we slack? Slack sounds bad? Oh man? All right, So
Tanya wants to stop taking photos of Robbie. I guess
she's obsessed. She can't stop taking pictures of him or
Cameron's full of pictures of her fiance. I've never seen
love like this before. This is this is on another level.
(07:52):
I mean, I've seen love. I want to know what
love is. I want you to show me. I want
to know what love is.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
No, but you know what, I like this show.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
And I want to feel it.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Yes, anytime our dog is like cuddled up with him
or whatever, I like take photos of them, like anytime
they're doing something cute, like I take photos of them.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
And I realized, uh, too much. No, it's not even that.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
The other day, we were doing some wedding stuff and
we needed a photo from November and I was like,
looking through all my photos, I couldn't find this photo
that we needed. And he opens his phone does one
little scroll, like and he's in November of last year
right there. That's how little photos he has. And I
was like, if I didn't take any photos of us.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Or you would, he would have nothing.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
I'm the same. All of the photos in my relationships
are on her phone. Yeah, like I just I it's
I'm not good at it. I figured I can get
him if I want them. Is that kind of a
guy thing?
Speaker 4 (08:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
So I'm gonna do an experiment to not take any
photos and see if it ever comes across his mind.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Because then you guys won't have any photos.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
But if because I'm always the one that first says, do.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
With the photos? What do we do with these photos?
There's too many and they get lost in the I
don't know the ones data.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Once you start having kids, this becomes a big issue
because it is the same thing for me. I have
all these amazing photos of Michael with the babies and
all this stuff, and then like the ones he has
of me, I'm like on the couch, like not even cute,
like can.
Speaker 7 (09:23):
You give a little effort, and like a photographer, like
every time he comes home from work, Sonny like jumps
on him, and it's li They're like having this love
affair and I have like hundreds of videos of it,
and I'm like.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
I'm really gonna do, But what are you going to
do with those videos?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
I love them, I look at them all the time.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Gosh, I'm so happy you found this guy.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Wow, honestly, But also just communicate with him that you
want more pictures of you or you're you experiencing things,
because I said it to Michael and it's made a
big difference.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Hence why I had pictures with my nephew.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
An obligation obligation.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
It's not an obligation. It's like almost like you trained
him to now do that.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
But it's the want a photo, like if if if
she's with me or whatever, I'll be like, can you
take a photo? I'll just ask him whatever it is
what it is. But I was like, if I try
this experiment, the one scroll to get to November really
is saday.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
That God makes a statement. It makes a statement.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
It'll be like next, last, yesterday.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Tanya's last two months being unmarried. I know for now
this is it. We have a countdown clock up. M
wild all right, let me get to this. I have
a quote of the day for this Friday. But flight attendants,
if you're flying, if you work for an airline, flight
attendants put up with a lot. They really do. Yes,
(10:43):
like some of these videos I see of people and
the lack of manners and just the craziness that goes on.
But this is the stuff that apparently really annoys them.
So don't do this, s siny Tanya, Okay, don't ask
for water the second you get there, IM sitting down. No,
(11:04):
don't do it.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
I don't do that.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I don't do that either.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Flight attendants cannot stand it. This is at the top
of their list. If you're clipping your nails on the flight,
you don't do that.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Who does that?
Speaker 8 (11:17):
I lot of people never once seen that in my life.
Same Also, I know that you're tight and everything hurts.
Flight attendants don't like it when you stretch in the aisle.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Oh see, No, I have done that when I was pregnant.
I had a fly pregnant with both pregnancies, and I
had to stretch, And I think you.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Get a pass for that, but generally asking for water,
clipping your nails and just getting up and stretching in
the aisle. Get out of the way. You're gonna push
the little cart through there.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I know I do that one h Why is it
that I.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Only have tomato juice in the air?
Speaker 4 (11:51):
What do you know it helps with? Like it's an
anti inflammatory, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
I think it's an inflammatory?
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, tomato.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Yeah, it's just funny that, Like.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
I never think there's something with a tomato juice and.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Flying, and there must be because I never ever have
a tomato juice unless I'm flying.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
So that's funny you say that because I'm I do
that with ginger ale. I never drink ginger ale.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, I never have gingerrell ever in my life. I've
had that on the plane too. Yeah, it's weird. Maybe
just see the can and you're like, can I have that?
I never have it.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Well, let me tell you something.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
It says right here Tomato juice is a popular choice
to drink while flying because the change in air pressure
at high altitudes can alter taste perception, making the strong
flavor of tomato juice more pronounced and enjoyable, so you
enjoy it more in the air.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
That's so weird, all right. A quote for this Friday.
Never let your boredom or loneliness be the reason you
go back to the people that brought you down or
drive you away. Just FM headlines with OH.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Some of music's the biggest stars, including Billie Eilish, Chate McGray,
Gwen Stefani, will headline the Fire Aid benefit concert to
help SOCOW recover from the wildfires.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
The Intoit Dome and Kiaforum will both host.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
The one ninth only concert on January thirtieth. You will
be able to hear the show live here on Kiss
FM and on the iHeartRadio app. Information is at FIREAIDLA
dot com. La County Health officials issued in order halting
debris cleanup in critical fire areas until hazardous materials in
sections are completed. Pasadena Unified School District announced plans to
(13:34):
reopen campuses in phases over the next two weeks, with
the goal of returning all students to school by the
end of January, and the fate of TikTok, like we
were talking about here in the US operations, might be
decided today after the Supreme Court said it may announce
opinions this morning, potentially delivering a ruling and ruling out
(13:56):
days before the ban is scheduled to take effect, which
is supposed to happen on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
On air with Ryan Seacrest. Okay is TikTok going out?
We're gonna be banned this weekend. Systney has some details
on that coming up now. In the last week, hundreds
and hundreds of new GoFundMe pages have gone up for
people whose lives have been devastated by the fires. And
this week we're just trying to amplify as many as
(14:20):
we can of those go Fundme pages for you listening.
So let me tell you this story, Brenda. They're both
on the line here, Brendan Alexis. But Brenda is trying
to raise money for our friend Alexis. On January seventh,
alexis birthday, the Palisades fire broke out in the morning.
Alexis was on the way to her boyfriend's place, while
her parents, Paul and Debrah, were on their way home
(14:43):
from visiting family, but they never made it back because
their homes were already being evacuated and emergency personnel would
not allow them to return. Let me bring Brenda and
Alexis in. Brenda and Alexis, thanks for coming on. I've
patched you guys together, so we're all on.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
Everybody doing well?
Speaker 2 (15:01):
I think that's the question everybody's asking. And I hope
you guys are hanging in there. How are you doing, Brandon, Alexis, I'm.
Speaker 9 (15:10):
Doing okay, still processing everything.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
So you lost your home, your parents lost your home. Alexis, yes, yes,
and so tell me about just walk me through this.
So you are away, you aren't at home, it's your birthday,
the fire breaks out, you have to evacuate, You can't
go back into your street because the officials wouldn't let you,
so you couldn't grab anything you needed at the last minute,
(15:34):
and then it's gone.
Speaker 9 (15:36):
Yeah, yes, exactly. Unfortunately, I was trying, like they wouldn't
even let us say that we live in an area.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
Can go in.
Speaker 9 (15:44):
No, they were turning people away. I think they were
just trying to get everybody evacuated as quickly as possible.
But yes, it just sucks that we couldn't get back
in at all.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
And on your birthday. What a turn of events. Yes, so,
I mean so many stories of people just trying to
grab what they want. You couldn't even get down your
street to try and grab something that you want. And Brenda,
you are Alexis's friend, and tell me about your relationship
and what you're trying to do to help.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Well.
Speaker 9 (16:15):
Alexis and I have been friends for almost twenty five years.
We made at Catamonica College, and you know, it's heartbreaking
to see your friend goes through this.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
You know, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
I try to big strive for your Lexus. Is just
very hard to see a friend through this.
Speaker 9 (16:34):
Yeah, month, I love her so much.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
You're such a good person.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
And Lexus here and your parents, how are they doing?
Speaker 9 (16:42):
They're okay. They're actually out of town as well, so
they stopped ahead of time in Ventura and we're able
to stay safe. But you know they lost everything as well,
and they have even longer history than I did, so
it's even more heartbreaking to speak.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
And where have you gone to them?
Speaker 9 (16:58):
I've been looking at to stay with my boyfriend with
Brenda as well, so I have people to stay with.
So I've been very fortunate with that, you know. And
they are also safe and going to be staying with family.
So we've been, you know, very lucky with that and
that we're safe. It's just heartperkeep. What's happening is so many,
thousands of people that are going through the same thing.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Yeah, years and years and years and years of recovery here.
Speaker 9 (17:20):
Yeah, so many. It's just insane and so sad.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
So we've got Alexis and Brenda on Brenda's her friend.
Alexis lost her home, her parents lost her home, and
we've been trying to amplify and highlight go fund Me
pages for listeners across southern California who have been impacted,
so you can search help Alexis, Paul and Deborah Rebuild.
Help Alexis, Paul and Debora rebuild. Search that on go
fund me and you'll get to these voices in this
(17:48):
story that you're hearing right now. You know what's beautiful,
Brenda is your love for your friend, and alexis your bond,
the appreciation you have for each other as special love.
He's a great person. I'm very luck you have her
with my friends. Well, God bless you both, and thank
you for coming on and sharing your stories, and we
(18:10):
wish you all the best in this recovery.
Speaker 9 (18:13):
Time, and thank you appreciate your time.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Will okay, Brenda, you all take care.
Speaker 9 (18:19):
Bye bye, thank you.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
I mean imagine this is all going down and your
heart just sinks when you are trying to rush back
to your home and they won't even let you get
near and to grab anything, right so you can search
help Alexis, Paul and Debri rebuild on gofund me. Is
this actually finally gonna happen? We've been talking about TikTok
being banned in America for years, but the deadline is
actually here. The deadline is rams Eagles game this Sunday. Yeah,
(18:46):
so what what? What do you sort of lay it
all out for us?
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:49):
And this one, I mean it's legit unless the Supreme
Court steps in before Sunday, it's a goodbye TikTok.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
But it wouldn't necessarily.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Just vanish from your phone, so it will disappear from
all the app stores and you wouldn't be able to
update it anymore, so it would probably work like normal
for a while before eventually losing functionality and the way
it would properly work normally. It's almost like a slow death,
Like if you look at it that way, it's like, gosh,
just take it off if it's off. But TikTok creators
(19:21):
are rushing to find alternatives. Red Note has skyrocketed to
the top of Apple's App Store, and so has the
photo sharing app lemon eight, like with the number eight.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
But here's the problem.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
The reason TikTok had this band to begin with is
because it's owned by China.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Red Note also owned by China.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Lemonade is the exact Chinese company that owns TikTok.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
So we're.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I mean, if you're doing you go down the same path, then.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
That's what I'm saying. But I'm like, why can't we
just be happy with.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
What we have?
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Like we have Instagram, People used Snackshow.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Too, people use it like we could use one less.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
No, No, there's so much more on TikTok than there
is on Each app has its own flavor.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Of it's a good run TikTok by Basically, it's.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Like it's like Coca Cola, Diet coc.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
And Spike exactly. Ryan that is exactly it Wait.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
What are you saying is exactly?
Speaker 3 (20:19):
But what technology?
Speaker 5 (20:20):
Each app is like a Coca Cola Pepsi sprite. It's
all soda, but each has its own unique flavor.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
I'm saying it's all owned by Coca Cola, which is
all owned by this company in China, which means you're
doing the same thing. I didn't think you were with
me on that. It's all the same company making the
same drink.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
I saw some girls, so when.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
You moved the diet coke, you're really just buying coke.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
I saw some girl do a video or she was
just like, just let me watch my Chinese app on
my Chinese phone on my couch.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
That's from China. Like it was like, what is the
problem here?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Well, let's say so, let's see. Sunday is when this
deadline comes up. Time for match game for sold out

We are all here, and LA has come together in
(21:17):
such a beautiful way through all of this, and we're
trying to have a little bit of fun with you
this morning to break it up. So Ladara Ranch, Krista,
tell us about you.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
Hi. Yes, I'm a teacher and I have a eleven
year old daughter.
Speaker 3 (21:32):

Speaker 2 (21:53):
We are here? Thank you for listening to us. Tell
us about yourself there in Culver City and.
Speaker 9 (22:00):
Stay at home mom of three?
Speaker 4 (22:02):
So you've actually just returned to school they did?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, well, and you feel like you need it. Sounds
like you needed a little relief.
Speaker 9 (22:12):
Oh yes, I'm actually sitting in.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
Westwood right now on the new ninety nine Ranch listening
to you.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Well, thank you for listening to us there in Westwood.
Go Bruins. So let me get into it. We are
going to play match game. Here's how it works. We'll
give you a phrase with the blank in it. Each
of you will play at your own time. Here, our
panel of Sysney, Tanya Ruby and our engineer Tubs are
going to write down what they think should go in
the blank. Then we'll hear your answer and see who
you match with. Okay, we'll start with you, Christa Contest
(22:42):
number one, and just stand by there in Westwood hang
tight for a second. Christa. So don't say this out loud,
but yours is rock blank? Rock blank? What goes with
rock that you think? The panel is going to fill
in the blank most obvious choice and we'll see if
you can get matches here. So rock blank? Okay, Krista,
(23:04):
what did you say?
Speaker 5 (23:06):
Star?
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Rockstar? That's what I said in my head. I'm not
on the panel, but that's what I said. All right,
let's go with Sisiny rock band because her husbands didn't
want Tanya Rock.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
I said rock star.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yes, so you got one match from Tanya Ruby rock.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
I said rock out.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
No one says that rock out out, all right, Tubbs,
rock music, rock music.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
I would have thought you would have gotten a lot
of rock stars there, but our panel didn't really come
through except for Tanya. So you got one. Now, let's
see what ann can do. And yours is don't say
it out loud yours is blank dip, blank dip. I'm
kind of thinking about the Rams game on Sunday. Blank dip. Yeah,
blank dip dip like I'm thinking football, you know that
(24:01):
kind of That's what I'm thinking. But I'm not on
the panel.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
We can't swear to think.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Wow, what what are you talking about? Dip d I
p That's what dip is ship chip step chip dip.
All right, I was singing bean or cheese. Let's see
(24:26):
what the panel said. Sidney. Did you say chip dip?
Speaker 4 (24:29):
I said French French dip?
Speaker 2 (24:31):
I like, did you say chip dip?
Speaker 3 (24:36):
I said skinny dip?
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Okay, that didn't across my mind.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
That did not cross my mind. Have a little more fun.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Dirty mind.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
I'm not a person that does that.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Oh it's fun.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Where do you do in a pool or of ocean?
Speaker 3 (24:49):
No, like on vacation. It's dark.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Aren't there people around?
Speaker 3 (24:55):
No during the dark time.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
No, I don't want to. I don't want to be
here right now thinking of that ruby chip tip ruby Wow,
the specific Chicago style. I want dip with the Parmesani cheesy.
All right, did you say tubbs, did you give us
chip Tip? You're gonna love this seven layer dips words.
Speaker 9 (25:25):
Go to chip Chip.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
So Christa is the winner here, and unfortunately, thank you
and we love you. Thank you for listening. Christa, you
and your opportunity. Yes, of course, Christy, you and your
daughter are going to see Tate McRae.
Speaker 9 (25:43):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Oh my gosh, she's gonna be so excited. Thank you
so much.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
I can't wait for you. Guys. Take good care. Thank you,
Christa and Ladera Ranch and Anne in Culver City. So
we are looking to connect with different families, friends who
have put up go fund me pages gone up because
of these fires. And this is another family. Now there's
an interesting connection here. So Carriy Procopio is her name.
(26:09):
She's raising money for Amanda Luke's about Tadina. On January nine,
at about six in the morning, the Luke's family lost
their home and all their belongings in the Eton fire. Amanda, Nathan,
and their two little girls had evacuated three hours earlier,
and Cary Procopio is a friend helping them, just like
somebody friends are doing they're stepping in out raise money
(26:31):
for their friends. But apparently we went to high school
together back at Dunwoodie High School many years ago. Carrie,
it's been too long.
Speaker 6 (26:40):
Hey, Ryan, how are you?
Speaker 2 (26:42):
I I'm okay, we are you know, focusing on different
families like your friends here? How do you know that
Luke's family.
Speaker 6 (26:50):
So Amanda and I worked together years ago, and she
still works for the same company as my husband. So
I lived in Los Angeles for a couple of years,
and last week obviously was reaching out to all of
my friends still live out there, and I saw Amanda's
post that her house literally burned to the ground.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
It's a story that sadly has happened to so many
different people, generational homes. We just endless story, block after
block decimated by these.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Firemen over and over.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Yeah, but you know, the beauty is seeing friends and
family come together to try and help each other out,
like you're doing for Amanda in her family.
Speaker 6 (27:30):
It's been amazing and watching just on social media, like
the other night, Tanya's post how she's trying to repost
things for people to help spread the word is so
generous and kind, and I think that's the only way
that all of these families were going to be able
to get back on their feet.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Yeah, it's true. So it's Amanda. They've got a three
year old and a little baby.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
A four months old.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yes, oh my gosh, and they just got out I
understand a few hours before the fire just destroyed their home.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
They got out. They got the ambrolert at three point
thirty in the morning, and she said they were in
their car by three forty five, so they literally had
the clothes on their back. Amanda had been trying to
pack a little bit before, but the baby was asleep
in her room, so she didn't want to disturb the baby,
and she thought, honestly, they would get to go back home.
Her husband lost his family lost their house when he
(28:21):
was in seventh grade to a lightning strike. So Amanda said,
when I talked to her the other day, She's like,
I didn't think it would happen twice in my life.
You know that demonstrate when he exact right. So you know,
he lost his house when he was a child, and
now as an adult. It's their first home they bought
together they lost. So it's say crazy crazy.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
So a family friend of there, so it's the l
o U c k s family right, help the Yloux
Loux the Loux him, Okay, help the Loux family l
o ucks on the go find page. Carrie Procopio, who
actually went to high school's Do you live in Atlanta?
Speaker 6 (29:02):
No, I live in Orlando. So I've been in Orlando
for about thirteen years. I saw you a couple of
years ago. I was in New York and went to
Kelly and Ryan. My son is a bulldog. This year,
I've got a freshman that's a bulldog.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
O Dodge.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
My husband went to Georgia.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
So, Carrie, were you in the grade above me or
two grades above me?
Speaker 6 (29:24):
I'm two grades above you. I'm in the grades with
your other friend. And I went to Auburn as well.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
So my ex girlfriend friend.
Speaker 6 (29:33):
Yes, your other friends, so I needed one of your friends.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
So, you know, my gosh, don't you have questions?
Speaker 5 (29:41):
I can't believe I have so many questions? Was tell
us about Ryan high school?
Speaker 4 (29:48):
You know?
Speaker 6 (29:48):
But Ryan was two grades below me. I dated one
of his friends. He dated one of my friends. But Ryan,
I don't think we really ran in the same circle,
you know, I mean we were two years apart.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Know who you were?
Speaker 4 (29:59):
So you never on like double dates or anything like that.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
No, no, no, over the years.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Yeah, you guys are well in the school.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
You guys are well known.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Wait was Ryan good at football?
Speaker 9 (30:18):
I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I mean when he was a sophomore, he was like
frighte JB sophomore.
Speaker 6 (30:25):
You were like on Star ninety four when we were
in high school. Weren't you, like what you already working there?
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, I was working.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
Right ambisiness in high school. I mean what high schoolers like.
I'm going to go be on the radio and you know,
fast forward thirty something years and look at you know.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Wow, we are still on the radio. Well, it's so
great to hear from you. I'm glad that you've got
you know, you've stepped up for your friends here because
so many people need help like this. Karry, we appreciate
you reaching out. Yeah, send our love to Amanda and
Nathan and their kids.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
Absolutely, and thanks for all y'all are doing. I'm sure
mess be super hard getting on the air and keeping
people motivated and happy when y'all are going.
Speaker 9 (31:04):
Through it too.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
So it's it's a it's a really strange time to
be here in LA. But yeah, we appreciate all of
the thoughts and the checking in nationwide. Carrie continued success,
and we'll talk to you. I'm sure in a few
years you Carrie, by bye, y'all.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
Take care.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
You know when you run across somebody that's from your.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
Past, Yeah, you remember you were like.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
I remember, Carrie and Laurel were good friends. La Laurel's friend,
Laura Lawla, the child cher.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Laurel or the subway sandwich?
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Which one basking Robins? Actually you missed all of them.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
There's so many.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
She was basking Robinson. She drove a Bretta that she
let me drive.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Was she your first kiss?
Speaker 1 (31:53):
No, say, late Bloomer, that's only Bloomer.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
I had my first kiss sophomore year of high school,
Late Nate Bloomerly, I mean checks out Charty.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
All right, let's get back into it here. But everything
is stalled since then, obviously, So here we go from me.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
All right, your realization that she had a kid in college,
You're like.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
You kid hit in college twenty five. Still, it's like
it doesn't even register with me that kids I went
to high school with. Can I have kids in college?
I gotta get going, bro. Some of us has prepared
for this segment. It's not even our segment. She's like
the actor that memorizes everybody's lines in a movie.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
I Got You Put Me and Coach.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, exactly. She's the Denzel Washington of the show. Oh,
so we're going to do a training report here, it's
on Taylor Swift. Let me just look ahead. So is
Taylor a good luck charm? And will she be at
the Chiefs game this weekend? We've got playoff games in
the NFL. Our Rams are playing the Eagles in Philadelphia.
But hopefully we out a feeling they got some momentum
(33:01):
after that wildcard win on Monday night, Tanya.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
So it looks like Taylor Swift will be returning to
the stands to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelsey this weekend.
He appearing on the Pat McAfee show. Pat asked, is
there going to be an aura in that place? A
little bit extra? You know what we're talking about? And
Travis applied, Oh yeah, you know what, baby, it's playoff football, man.
So the Chiefs are playing the Houston Texans tomorrow, and
(33:27):
Taylor seems to be a good luck charm for the
team because out of the twenty games that she's attended,
the Chiefs have only lost three times, which is wow,
I'm really bad at percentages, but that's really good odds.
So anyways, I feel like a lot of what a
lot of people are talking about right now with Taylor
and Travis is because obviously Selena Gomez just announced her
engagement is this is the year.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Of the ring, the year of the Ring of the
what ring?
Speaker 3 (33:55):
The engagement ring ring?
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Watch five? Yeah on Taylor the super Bowl Ring game ring.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
It was so cute.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Engagement ring yea, yeah, yeah, fa. I like it. You
need something to root for, don't we.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Well, except what we don't want them to have the
super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Only root for the story for one week?
Speaker 1 (34:13):
You know.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
You told us we have to have something to cheer for.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
We do, and it's called the Rams.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Yeah. And Kansas City.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
No, we don't want Kansas City to go to super
Bowl again.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Maybe no super Bowl ring, but engagement.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
That's fine, That's what I'm saying. Like, let's cheer for
them for a week or so, but let's get the
Rams the whole way through, wouldn't that be? I can't
get over the story of how how much we need
it and what what a great come from behind story
in a time where we need something to root for,
it would be for the Rams to go all the way.
I just can't get out of my head. Maybe that's
(34:49):
what they're saying in their meetings.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
I don't have to do the rationale in the NFL,
so that all the games you play up, that you
play all these games before the playoffs that.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Don't really count.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Okay, I think he's playing Rachel Platinum. There are thirty
two NFL teams. The top twelve, based on the record
of regular season, make the playoffs. Those playoffs are like
attorney a tournament. Right, eight are left. The final two
in the tournament that have done well enough to make
(35:25):
the playoffs will make it to the super Bowl. One
of the teams who win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
You only make it to the playoffs if you have
a good record from that season.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
But you can flip your record so you can start
slow and then go strong in the second half of
your regular season to get into the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
God it so it doesn't really it's not a wash,
kind of like the Rams did.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Because the Rams had a really rocky start at the beginning.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
Yes, they had a handful of losses at the beginning.
And that's the thing. I mean, that's why you gotta
love Sean McVay. He's coached. He's really figured out how
to make changes in the roster, move people around, and
come up with these victories at the end. Don't laugh
at me talking about sports.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
I always comes back to have a.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Male crush on coach Sean mcay.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
I saw him on TV the other night and I
did think when I see him.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
Like this miss me making Ryan very happy.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Oh my gosh, I have like I have a crush
on Sean McVay.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
Good for you. I think he knows too.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
He knows.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
How does he know?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
We've had him on the air.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
And you've told him talking to people from all over
Southern California, seeing friends come together, helping each other out,
talking about different go fundme pages, and also trying to
have a little distraction for you if you're just getting here.
And one of the things that I like to think
about for distraction are those conversations you have around the
(36:50):
dinner table with friends. What is your like if you
had to have one more meal in life, what would
it be that conversation? What would your final meal be like?
Speaker 4 (37:00):
The really good sushi meal.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I think it'd be a burger for me, honestly, Oh
or a pizza anyway. In thinking about those kinds of questions,
I asked a moment ago, who's the greatest boy band
of all time? Let's have a little fun with that. Okay,
it's the greatest boy band of all of all time.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
What's the definition of a boy band?
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Are we going to eighties? Eighties to now?
Speaker 4 (37:24):
Okay? Okay?
Speaker 1 (37:25):
So not like Okay, got it? I was gonna go
way back like the Beatles.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Band. I don't know, That's what I'm saying. What's the
definition of a boy band? I got it?
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Okay? So think about that, and how would you determine?
Is it record sales? Is it most number one hits?
Is it longevity?
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Yeah? Is it like are they still performing?
Speaker 3 (37:44):
No? No, no, it's just the greatest of all time?
Speaker 2 (37:47):
So Ranker actually Ranker decided to make a list and
have people vote, and I've got the top five based
on the public vote. Here now, Michaelae, you have a
strong opinion about your favorite boy band? Who is it?
Speaker 7 (37:58):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (37:58):
It's backshoot Boys, hands down, number one best boy band
of all time?
Speaker 4 (38:04):
I mean, and great.
Speaker 2 (38:05):

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Yeah, it feels very comfortable.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
So good. They could they could go on to it
forever with.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
These songs, and then they have will.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
And this will be their story and they're leg'sy fine.
All right, So Backstreet for.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
You guys, I gotta say, I'm my my gut is telling.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Me to go with one direction.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
One direction, yes, okay. A lot of controversy there.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
And the impact they had.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
If you love this song, oh yeah, oh yeah, this
is a good one.
Speaker 4 (38:43):
It's coming back this one. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Oh my gosh, I do love this song. I'm gonna
play it later. Okay, So you let one direction, Tanya.
Favorite boy band of all time, best boy of all
time has.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
To be the Jonas Brothers.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
They have span decades, decades of their music.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
I honestly would put in Sync before the Jonas, Yes,
in Sync before the Jonas brother Also as.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
A boy band, they're a band. They're not a boy band.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
Well they were when they started. There's Insane, I mean,
all right, so you got insanc I mean, gosh, you
choose between Backstreet and Insane?
Speaker 4 (39:33):
You know that's always been in the battle, all right,
But listen to those songs together, growing up, you had
to pick one.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
You had to pick right, all right. So Top five
boy bands Greatest boymans of all time based on public vote.
Number five, this is what everybody decided. Number five is
this okay? Great? Are they might? I might have to
(40:03):
go to Boys Living radio later?
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Are they still touring?
Speaker 2 (40:06):
I would love to listen. I'll be listening, thank you.
And this is why I'm single. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
And then this one, you're going on to number four?
Speaker 2 (40:34):
No, okay, so that's number five. Number four is one direction.
Speaker 5 (40:37):
Oh my gosh, I'm surprised they're four.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
What's a buff? Greatest boy bands of all time? Number
four based on the vote, okay, number three, greatest boy
bands of all time?
Speaker 4 (40:50):
You kids on the blast.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
These guys could tour forever with these songs.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
We just festival.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Number two, Greatest boy band of all time based on
America's Well, it's the final two. Number two. You know
your wish. The number one greatest boy band of all
time based on the nationwide vote is Backstream Boys.
Speaker 10 (41:20):
We need to recount.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
I mean, they're all so good.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
They're also good.
Speaker 4 (41:25):
I mean the top three are of all time.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Vibes you boys to men got into Yeah.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
Wait wait to click to the number five spot.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Boys to me, we're going to get in there. All right,
this is something to distract you today. Some stuff there.
Boy bands, they are great. We need them. We need
boy bands and we need the.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
Rams on air with Ryan Seacrets.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
Uh, we do have wet would be a way to
end the show and the week after another tenth week
in southern California. There's a letter that was left for
a family by firefighters that I'm going to read to you.
It starts with to whom it may concern.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
That's so beautiful.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
It's a beautiful letter written by these heroes that are
just saving lives. So we'll get to that in a second.
If you need an escape, the weekend watch list here
the weekend watch list, just Joe so sysanty, anything that
you want to put on my radar or radar that
we should watch.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Okay, So I'm going to take you way back to
the nineties.
Speaker 4 (42:29):
If you ever watched Jerry Springer.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
Yeah, so now there's a documentary and it's on Netflix.
It's called Jerry Springer Fights Camera Action. It's on Netflix
and it is so good. It's a behind the scenes
of how they built this show and like at the beginning,
it was kind of like, well, it was kind of
considered like a joke, and they nobody would take them
seriously because Oprah was like number one, always, always, always,
(42:51):
year after year. And they do give you behind the
scenes of how they prep these guests and how they
produce them to then they would rev them up and
then they go on and then put them on stage,
so that would be they would be so mad when
they'd go on stage. But they were produced by these
producers like in a room, and it's it's wild. It's
wild to see the behind the scenes of this, especially
if you like ever watched Jerry Springer back in the day, so.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
There's two episodes of that on this Tanya, what's on
your weekend watch list?
Speaker 5 (43:18):
I have to say I am very excited because Love
Island All Stars is.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Back in my life.
Speaker 5 (43:26):
It feels so nice and comforting because it started on
Wednesday and it will air every single night for about
a month, and they bring back all like your favorites
in the villa, like Echen Sue and like spoiler alert.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
But I have a question.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Yes, Love Island All Stars, So this is like Love Island,
but like plucking out.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
The best of best seasons.
Speaker 5 (43:49):
Yeah, this is the trigued yes, so like we already
know these people were invested and it is so good.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Okay, that's on Tiny's weekend. Watch this Ruby, what's on
your weekend? Watch mine?
Speaker 10 (44:00):
Is seven season two on Apple TV.
Speaker 3 (44:02):

Speaker 10 (44:02):
I'm actually so late to this party because I just
started watching season one, but season two premiered last night,
with new episodes on Friday.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Can I just is there a recap of season one
in season two's beginning and I don't have to go
remind myself?
Speaker 3 (44:18):

Speaker 10 (44:20):
I think there is, but I haven't finished, so please
don't spoil it for Oh okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
And a couple things just to put in radar are
Real Pain with Kieran Kulkin and Jesse Eisenberg on Hulu.
That is coming out today. Back in Action is out
today Cameron Diaz and Jamie Fox. That's on Netflix. And
The Night Agent. Do you remember this? The Night Agent
refresher memory? This is great, right, I loved this show.
The Night Agent Season two comes out on Netflix later
(44:47):
next week. So let me just get into this right now.
Sisny and Michael. They have a friend named Levi and
I think you've mentioned him. He's a firefighter and it's
so good.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
No, you've talked about him. I have.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
He and his fellow hero us have been desperately trying
to save homes, and they left a note at one
of the houses they saved, and I just want to
read it to you, So here it is. It's in handwritten,
you know. One eight twenty five is the date in
the top right corner to him in a concern. We're
so sorry for the devastation your neighborhood has endured. It
(45:21):
is truly heartbreaking, and we can only imagine the toll
it's taken on everyone affected. When we returned a few
days later, it brought us great relief to see that
we were able to save your house. The house to
the right of you was completely gone and the fence
was burning about to catch your house on fire. We
stopped the fire from burning through your side door and
(45:42):
kept the fire from your deck and roof. Since then,
our team has found solace on your deck, gazing out
at the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It has offered a moment
of calm amidst the chaos. We want you to know
and your neighbors to know you are in our thoughts
(46:03):
as you rebuild and recover. The pink ribbon, if it
is still there, means the house was a saves.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
I know, I know.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
The house was a save and it gave us pride
to hang it with love and support. El Segundo Fire Department,
Engine thirty one C Platoon Levi, Steve, Matt and Jason.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
It's the courage that these fighters have had. And he's
been sending us like images of like how he's sleeping
and not even sleeping. It's like they're just sleeping in
the car on the floor and they just haven't stopped.
They've been going non stop.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
But to take the time, yeah, to articulate that and
to put up the pink ribbon and to have that
moment of calm admits the chaos, it's just the most beautiful.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Do you see the thumb of like him holding the
note and do you see his.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
Favorite charge it's charred and it's black. Yeah, right, I
do see it. I mean, his his thumb is black
from fighting the fires and the smoke. That's just a
it's a beautiful, beautiful letter. And I don't there's no
words to say thank you, I mean word, thank you
doesn't do it, doesn't do it? All right. That is
(47:29):
going to wrap it up for our Friday broadcast. Thanks
for being here. What a week again. Appreciate everybody calling
in all the wonderful stories of friends coming out for
friends and helping out different people, even helping out strangers
around the city. Again this week. I'm still emotional from
that letter we read and that was minutes ago. But yeah,

think that is his real name.
