Speaker 1 (00:00):
From Hollywood to you. Thank you for listening to us.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Ryan Seacrest.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Seacrest. On air, on air, on.

Speaker 4 (00:06):
Air with Ryan Seacrest.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
It's 102.7 Kiss FM, Los Angeles. Good morning. Yeah, August
kind of flew by. Here we go. September, October, November, December.
The birds are here.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
The birds are here, and I love it. There's an
energy shift.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Well, a little relief from the heat, too.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 5 (00:25):
August always flies by like a moment in time.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Oh, yeah. Thank you for that poetic observation.

Speaker 5 (00:31):
Taylor Swift lyric.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I know. How was your morning so far? Mine, wrong foot.
Starting on the wrong foot.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Oh, no.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I mean, I shouldn't let these kinds of little things
deter the energy of the day.

Speaker 6 (00:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
So I told you, everybody asked me about it. Do
you really have a coffee machine in your bedroom?

Speaker 6 (00:53):
I do.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I do.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
And I was so excited to wake up this morning
and save time by starting the coffee machine. Yeah. My
outlet was out.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Oh, that's a bummer.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
My outlet was out to grind the beans, to make
the coffee. And so I had to find an outlet
like in the closet under my shoes. There's one in
the back under my shoes. So my coffee machine was
in the bottom of my closet behind my Sebago shoes,
you know, brewing the coffee.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Why not just go to the kitchen at this point?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Nope.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
Yeah, it's too much.

Speaker 6 (01:29):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Principle. I'm trying to save time. So I wanted to
do it all in my room. And then because I
was rushing to make it and it was not in
the right place, it was very weak. not strong. And
so it just, it didn't, it didn't start me off
in the right way. But you know, when you have
those days where like one little thing happens, you spill
something on the way out.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Toothpaste on your shirt. Something happens in your car that
sets you back. Your car has a flat tire. Those
little things can really set the tone for not being.

Speaker 7 (02:01):
But don't let it affect you though. I had to
walk through sprinklers this morning and I'm, I came in fine.
I did it as a kid for fun.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
No, it was definitely not fun. But I was all
dewy while driving here now.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Now I'm dry.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Everything's okay.

Speaker 8 (02:14):
I forgot to turn my phone volume off before I
went to sleep last night.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
And I got an email at 1 a.m.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Who emailed you at 1 a.m. about what? Amy Sugarman.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
But it woke both of us up. I was like, oh, man.
And then I couldn't fall asleep after that.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Oh, that's a bummer.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
But you're right. These little things, your kids agitate you,
your husband, your wife agitate you. You get to decide,
is that going to ruin, not ruin, is it going
to make your day less than great?

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
No, it's not. I'm not going to let, it can't
have the power. That coffee machine, that Cuisinart that's in
the bottom of my closet with the grinder underneath my
hanging clothes cannot, because it didn't work well, cannot allow
me to have a negative day. I'm not, I'm choosing
to not let it happen. That is, It's empowering.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
All right. That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
That's the energy.

Speaker 7 (03:07):
So then don't call it your wrong foot. Call it
the foot that it's supposed to be today.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I'm overcoming. Okay, so what do we got today? The Burrs. Oh,
Newport Beach. Happy birthday. Here comes your cake.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
How cute is that?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
120 years is not cute. That's old. Not that old.
When you compare us to the country in the world. Well,
when you go to Rome, yeah, it's older.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
Babies.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
120 years, Newport Beach. Partly sunny today. Not as hot.
So we get 80s and 90s. Now, the Jonas Brothers called.
And they said, we have more tickets if you want
to give them away. So we're doing that every single hour.
And we have a second date update, which is very interesting.
It has to do with a DoorDash driver. And I

(03:51):
have a question. And I'll explain why I asked this question.
And we'll get into it later. But if you're a
DoorDash driver, or food delivery person, does the order of
your customer, what they order, does that potentially make you
think they're going to be hot or attractive when you
get there? And I'll tell you why. Like certain foods,

(04:14):
you might go, wow, I'm going to brush my hair
before this delivery because it's happening. Food delivery people are
trading numbers with their customers when they arrive. And I
wonder if the food has anything to do with it.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
Maybe.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Sure is. It is Kiss FM. Did you get a
good night's sleep, Sissany?

Speaker 5 (04:37):
No, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Tanya, did you?

Speaker 5 (04:40):
No, my email woke me up at 1 a.m.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Now what is going on? What is this battle of
the pillows in your bed with your husband?

Speaker 5 (04:48):
So it's not a battle. I have also, okay.

Speaker 8 (04:50):
So I'm getting the best sleep of my entire life
since I got this body pillow.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (04:56):
So it's one of those body pillows. It's also called
a pregnancy pillow, but it goes, basically it's.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Like a U between your legs, your legs.

Speaker 8 (05:02):
You can hug it with your arms and you use
it as like your pillow for your head. So it's
like a All in one thing, okay?

Speaker 4 (05:08):
I can't believe you love this pillow. I hated this pillow.
It's too big.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
It's like having to purse an extra body in the bed.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yes, exactly. I got rid of it right away.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
It's like my own personal cocoon. I'm sleeping.

Speaker 8 (05:20):
So amazing. So I'm, I'm begging Robbie to get one
for himself. Like I, I am a side sleeper as well.
So I'm like, please just try mine for one night.
I would love nothing more than for him to have
this amazing sleep that I'm having.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
You'd have yours, his, and the two of you in
the backstreet boys.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Literally so many bodies.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
But he'd have his little cocoon.

Speaker 8 (05:44):
I have my little cocoon and we'd both be sleeping
10 out of 10.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
And And he's fighting this?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
He won't do it. He won't even try mine for
a night.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Maybe he doesn't want it.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
But why do you care? I mean, if the guy's
on the other side of the bed sleeping well, why
do you care?

Speaker 8 (05:59):
Isn't it your wife's job to improve your life in every.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Way, shape, or form? Not if you don't want it.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
But you don't know what you want until you have it.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Well, I got one for you. You don't have to
deal with this. So in the event... If it happens
that things go well and someone is a guest of
mine at my place for an overnight, I have two pillows.
There are four pillows in the bed. Two of them
I must sleep with. If she starts to sleep with

(06:30):
my purple pillow, I have to awkwardly say, I'm so sorry,
but I need that pillow to sleep with. You can
have these.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
That is so awkward.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
And also, why is it purple? It's a purple, that
purple pillow. No, no, he means the brand, not like
a purple pillow. Because it's like, it stays cold and squishy.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
I'm picturing like purple satin cover.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I just, I just have to say, it's like an
awkward conversation because it's like at that moment when you've
had a great evening, you're about to fall asleep. But
I have to say, I usually just say, look, I'm
not a great sleeper. I'll sleep fantastic next to you,
but I need that pillow that you're laying on. Can
we swap?

Speaker 5 (07:07):
I'd be like, no, I like this pillow.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Awkward. Well, no, because it's my purple pillow that I
have to sleep with.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Get a second purple pillow for your guest.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I have two. I sleep with two purple pillows. I
hug one and I put my head on the other.
You can't share one of them? No, I need two.
I must have two. I must have the exact same two.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
I get it.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
If somebody tried to take my pillow away from me,
I'd be like, I.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Do have my one favorite one that I would not
want to share.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
So two out of four times they leave.

Speaker 7 (07:33):
Anyway.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
50-50.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
2.7 Kiss FM. Watching, you know, TV shows and movies.
And I love it when you watch something and they
go into, the person goes into the restaurant or the
diner usually.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
You want your usual? Yeah, I'll have my usual.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I was thinking about that. Like, I've never gone into
a place and had them say, You want the usual?

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Never.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
It only happens in the movies.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
I want that so bad. I want to be a
regular so bad at a restaurant.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Why hasn't it happened yet? Why do you want to
be a regular? So that they just treat you as
a friend?

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Yeah, they treat you like family. Exactly.

Speaker 7 (08:14):
They know your booth. They know what part of the
restaurant you like to sit in every time. Those types
of things. I want to just walk into Casa Vega
and be a regular.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I go there enough.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
This is a staple in the Valley. Mexican restaurant. Been
there forever. Family-owned business. We love it. Everybody knows about
it and loves it in the Valley.

Speaker 6 (08:32):
Right.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
And so you have been there. I mean, you've been
to two places, three places most. Here, Disneyland, and Casa Vegas.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
I feel like that's accurate.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
How many times have you been in there and they
still don't recognize you as a regular?

Speaker 7 (08:47):
No, because it's always like a different hostess or I'll
get seated in a different section from where we got
to know that, that last server. And then now we're
in the opposite side. And so we're into a whole
brand new server. And so we're getting there, I feel,
but it's not clicking yet. And I just like, I'm like,
how do I make it click?

Speaker 5 (09:02):
You have to request that same spot every time you
go in.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
It is so like, personally gratifying for them to acknowledge
you are a patron. You are a regular. You get
your usual.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
How great is that?

Speaker 7 (09:16):
If they know what my kids want or this, I'm like, oh,
this is a dream. Eventually, I think we'll get there.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
We go there now. You walk in and you wait
for them to give you the reaction of, oh, of course.
And you wait for them and they don't do it.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
No, come on in the Via Claras. No, not yet.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Not yet.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
We're getting there though, I feel.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Waiting for a reaction. Because I had Georgia out for
a walk last night. And these other people had a
dog named Lulu, one of those hot dogs with little legs.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
Oh, yes. A dachshund.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
And she said to me, well, how old is Georgia?
And I know when I say the name, I always
wait a beat for a great reaction. Like she looks
so good or wow she's so fit because I wait
for it because usually it happens so proudly I was
like she's 13 waiting for a big reaction waiting no
reaction how did you not react to the fact that

(10:05):
she looks so good for 13 I was very upset
you know when you're waiting for this moment this reaction
it's very personally frustrating what do you eat when you
go to Casa Vega what's your regular what's your usual.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Oh I get the mole enchiladas On the mole, there's
the legendary. Yes, I know. Asa does the Mexican pizza,
or like the Mexican torta.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
To the Vega family, there is only one Sisani. She
wants to be a regular so bad, okay? I'll be
there this week. Make her feel like part of the club.
The worst Zodiac sign to travel with, is it you?
Is it your spouse?

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Next.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
And a quote of the day. I want a 2.7
Kiss FM. A quick quote of the day here. But first,
so I am a Capricorn. What are you, Cisney?

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I'm an Aries.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Tanya?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Cancer.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
The worst Zodiac sign to travel with. I think Kelly
Ripa was talking about this on her show, Live with
Kelly and Ryan.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
Not Live with Kelly and Mark.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Live with Kelly and Mark. And this is the number
one worst Zodiac sign to travel with. And I'll tell
you why. Is anybody in the back room a Taurus?

Speaker 6 (11:13):
No.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Capricorn?

Speaker 4 (11:16):
I'm a Capricorn.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
My little sister's a Taurus, though.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Yeah, my whole family's a Taurus. I have a Leo, too.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
You guys are fine. The worst? Aries.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
Wait, I'm an Aries. I'm not the worst. Why are
they saying that?

Speaker 1 (11:32):
So they said it's been proven time and time again.
There's no way around it.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Oh, baloney.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
They are high energy. They are the most impatient of
all the signs.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Not true.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
They need constant stimulation, which clashes with a more relaxed
vacation pace. I would say this is you.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
No, let me tell you something.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
The reason we vacation is because I'm an Aries, because
I'm type A.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
I book all the reservations, the.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Things for the kids to be. That impatience, that energy,
that defensiveness.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Well, I am going to defend Aries and anybody else
who's listening right now because we are... Are you impatient?
It depends on the situation.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
It's a great quality.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
It just depends on the situation.

Speaker 7 (12:14):
I make reservations for that reason so that we don't
have to wait.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
I think impatience is a great trait. You just have
to look at it the right way. You're efficient. You
get things done. You think it through. You're detail oriented.
Today's quote. If you are worried about the cost of
going for it, you should see the price of staying
exactly where you are. So go for it. Kiss FM.
Good morning. Bruno Mars at Kiss LA is number one

(12:38):
at Music Station, coming up after 7. A second date update.
He's a DoorDash driver. He delivered her dinner, and instead
of a tip, she gave out her number. I have
so many questions coming up for Sissany Headlines. Kiss FM
Headlines with Sissany. Well, L.A.

Speaker 7 (12:54):
County has filed a lawsuit against State Farm for allegedly
mishandling wildfire survivor claims. After nearly 40 years without billboards,
digital signs are now going up.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
In Santa Monica. And residents already pushing back, of course.

Speaker 7 (13:10):
Drivers heading to Malibu, Pacific Palisades, or Topanga for Labor
Day weekend will get a break with Caltrans pausing construction
on Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard. And Universal
Studios announced the opening date for Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift,
the park's first outdoor high-speed roller coaster.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
That's going to be September 16th. Just go to the pool.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Just stand on the sand. Getting in the ocean has
become more and more dangerous with the creatures. Now, granted,
we are going into their home. They were there first.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
But we talked about the stingrays. You got the jellyfish.
And this one is bizarre. If you are at the
beach and you're in or near the water and you
hear a hissing sound, that is a beach ocean rattlesnake.
And they're... in a lot of places here in Southern
California due to the heat. Sisney, I'm terrified.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
I'm terrified too.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
I'm not ready to experience something like this while trying
to relax at the beach. But a rattlesnake was spotted
off the shoreline at Crystal Cove State Beach near Newport Beach.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
And yeah, swimming, coming from the ocean.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
So they're in the water. A rattlesnake is swimming in
the water. No, I cannot. I mean, seaweed freaks me out.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Oh, seaweed is so gross to me as well.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
So what do we got? We got jellyfish. We got sharks.
We got otters, eels, rattlesnakes.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
The stingrays.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
The stingrays.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
And this is all because of the warmer waters.

Speaker 7 (14:45):
It's this El Nino, the super El Nino, that's creating really,
really warm ocean waters for us.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
When you think of all of the phylum of marine
life that could be in there, odds are you're going
to encounter one.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Well, no.

Speaker 8 (14:57):
If you think about how big the ocean is, how
much circumference it covers.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Yes, where are you going with this?

Speaker 8 (15:07):
If you divide it by the amount of people swimming
in the ocean, it's far less than the circumference of
all the water.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Area, not circumference. I think area.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
The math ain't math. I don't know what you're saying.

Speaker 8 (15:20):
I'm trying to say how big the ocean is versus
how many people are swimming in it.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
I feel like it's not common.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
It is. Did you hear how many people encountered the stingray? I,
for one, am not interested in encountering anything other than
myself in the water. I do not want to, like
if I saw, what do you do when you see
a rattlesnake? What are you supposed to do in the water?

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Go away, swim away, pay attention.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
No, they say relax.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
And what?

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Let it just, I guess let it swim away. Don't,
don't like act intense or it'll get intense with you.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
I would run. I wouldn't stand right there. I would
run for my life.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
I'm a pool dude more than ever before.

Speaker 6 (16:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
So watch out for those.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Good luck. I'm making 2.7 kiss FM, you know, door
dash Uber eats Uber. It's just so convenient. So easy.
I was sending an Uber for someone to pick them up,
but delayed.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
So I want to pick them up like an hour later,
but I've somehow failed and schedule it for tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Oh no.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
I scheduled it for the next day. I didn't even
see that option. I was so impressed that I scheduled
it for like an hour later. Right. But I scheduled
it for the next day. So I got to pay
better attention. But then I started thinking about my DoorDash orders,
my Uber Eats. Like when somebody comes to deliver the
food and when you, if you are one of these
delivery people, I'm curious to get inside your head. Does

(16:54):
the order, like let's say you're single and you know,
you might meet some qualified people when you're delivering this stuff.
Does the actual specificity of the order make someone potentially attractive?

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I think so.

Speaker 6 (17:08):
Maybe.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
All right.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
So we'll get into all that. But first, let me
bring in Darren. He's struggling here. Let's get the story. So, Darren,
thanks for coming on. I know you deliver and you
delivered some food to her. And then she asked you
out and you said yes when you delivered the food.
Is that right? Uh, yeah. Does that happen a lot?

Speaker 6 (17:31):
No, no, absolutely not. Like God, I try to keep,
you know, business and personal things separate, but this, this was,
this is that rule.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Cause you went out like for two nights after that.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Right.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
So the first night was amazing. What happened on the
second night of meeting this customer?

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Yeah, totally. Uh, so yeah, like you said, she, she
made me laugh so, so hard. On that first night,
but the second night, the whole vibe just changed. Like,
she was distracted. She said she wasn't feeling great. She
didn't laugh at any of my jokes. And then she
asked me to take her home, like, as soon as

(18:12):
we were done eating. So, I don't know. I mean,
my texts are going unanswered, so I... I have no
idea what, what was it me? Was there something else
going on? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Well, look, I mean, sometimes people are interested and then
they're not interested once they get to know you and
you're just not for her. That could be what happened.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
Yikes.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
So bottom line, first night, amazing. Second night, weird.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
Right, right. Exactly.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
What kind of jokes are you telling? I'm just curious.

Speaker 6 (18:40):
Well, I mean, a lot of it was just riffing
off of what we were going back and forth. There
wasn't like any knock-knock jokes.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Spontaneous improvisation.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
Yes. I did ironically say a terrible, what do you
get when you mix a blank and blank? But that
was it. And she laughed at that. What do you get.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
When you mix blank and blank?

Speaker 8 (19:05):
No, I think it's probably like dirty. He can't say
it on the air.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
All right.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
So just quickly, we're going to put her on the air.
Her name is Julissa. Do you have any theories? Do
you have anything that's in the back of your mind
that could be why she didn't want to go out again?

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Two nights in a row, like, I don't know, maybe
she thought we were moving too fast. I mean, we
didn't even kiss.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Okay, I got it. Hold on one second. We're going
to try and get her on the air next at
Kiss and find out.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
102.7 Kiss FM.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
So quickly, let me get Jalisa on before she decides
that she does not want to talk about this. But
Darren reached out to us for a second date update.
He's a delivery guy, delivers the food to Jalisa. She's like, oh,
I like you. Let's go out. They go out. Two nights.
First night, great. Second night, weird. She's now blowing him off. So, Darren. Hey, Darren, quickly,

(20:00):
the kind of food or any type of food that
someone delivers, does that make them potentially more attractive?

Speaker 6 (20:06):
Yeah. Uh, you know, I, I'll be honest. Yeah. Um, yeah. Oh,
for sure.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Cause sometimes I just order oysters to see if I
get a reaction.

Speaker 6 (20:20):
I don't think that's going to make you any more
attractive to me. I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah. Thank you. Uh, okay. What did she order?

Speaker 6 (20:29):
Uh, she ordered, uh, what was it? It was a
boba tea and, um, oh my God, it was popcorn chicken.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
Instead of a tip, she gave you her number. Here
we go. She's on the line. Be very quiet. We're
going to find out why she blew you off, okay?

Speaker 6 (20:47):
Great. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
She just became uninterested. I mean, that happens, right? You
meet somebody, you think they're going to be this. They're not.
They're something else, and you blow them off. Julissa, good morning.
How are you?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Good morning. I'm doing fine.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Great. Welcome to KISS FM. You're on the air with us.
So we're calling you about a guy that delivered your
food named Darren.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
The DoorDash guy?

Speaker 9 (21:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Tell me about that guy. Is he.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Cute? Yeah, he is. But that's kind of the problem.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Why?

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yeah, well, we went out on a couple of dates
and the second date was, you know, really where it
kind of took a turn. I mean, they were fine.
I don't know. I just I don't want to be mean.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Just be truthful.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Mean.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Honesty isn't mean in the right context.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Right.

Speaker 6 (21:45):
Usually.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
I mean, I guess he just has some growing up
to do.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Oh. So what do you do that made him seem childish?

Speaker 6 (21:55):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
So he has roommates, which is fine, I guess. But
he and his roommate are literally on bunk beds.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Okay. And the problem is?

Speaker 3 (22:10):
I mean, it was a lot of other stuff, too.
Before the second date, we met at his place and
he gave me the quick tour. But it was one
minute of a tour and that's all I needed. It
showed me so much. I mean, there was a wall-sized

(22:30):
poster of Jessica Alba in their living room, for one thing.
Like the whole wall. And then I went into the
bathroom and there wasn't a single hand towel.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
I'm like, okay.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Do these guys just not wash their hands or dry
their hands on their hands?

Speaker 5 (22:46):
No, they probably use the towel. They're like bath towel.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
I understand. I understand. These are things, signs that just
give you the ick. And so therefore you blew him off.
I have him on the phone right now because he
was way into you and you asked him out in
the first place like you made the first move. So, Darren,
do you hear this and does that add up?

Speaker 6 (23:10):
Hey, yes, yes. And I can explain some of that.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
You don't have to, though. It's fine. Live the way
you want to live. It's just not for me.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
No, but the poster, it's my roommate's, and he had
the place before I moved in, which, I mean, I think... Also,
I think I might have been doing laundry that day,
so that's why the hand towels weren't there.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Can I get to the bunk bed? Now, how does
that work when you date and you've got a bunker
underneath you?

Speaker 2 (23:49):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:52):
It's communication. Just letting people know, hey, I've got somebody
coming over if my place is the destination. It's just practical.
If I'm also going to share a room, it's the
better use of space.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Well, look, this is not going to go anywhere. It's
not going to work out. And I think that's fine.
We determined that. And I appreciate Everybody's transparency and honesty here.
Not mean at all. So thank you, Darren. And good luck.
And Julissa, good luck to you.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
I remember when I was growing up living here, living
with Tanaz and Louie. If anybody had a date, come
back with them. We put a Christmas wreath on the doorknob.
I thought it was a sock. Nope, you didn't listen
to the right show.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
Yeah, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
It was a wreath. It could have been a tie
or a wreath.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Oh, tie, tie. Yeah, it was a tie.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
But that would indicate that there's somebody there.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
Right.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
So, you know, not come in and be quiet and
be respectful or go somewhere else.

Speaker 7 (24:57):
I just feel like freshman year of college, it's okay.
But then any year after that, it's like the bunk
beds have to go.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I think they're so cool.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
On Air.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Olivia Rodrigo, Kiss FM. Our
intern from USC, Bella, was at the game on Saturday.
They won. Congratulations. But you had to leave early, huh?

Speaker 3 (25:18):
I did.

Speaker 9 (25:19):
It was way too hot to just even sit there.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
But they won. And imagine playing in that heat.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
I couldn't even just sit there. And then my fan died.
And I was like, I'm going home.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
How many fans do you have? Just one. Like the
portable fan. I'm sorry they passed. Okay. So now bring
this to the committee here. The issue about controlling the
music in the car with other people. Go ahead. Very common.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
So whenever I drive, I let whoever's sitting shotgun control
the music. But my boyfriend disagrees and thinks that he
should play the music all the time.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
When he's driving or when he's the passenger?

Speaker 6 (25:58):
Both.

Speaker 9 (25:59):
When he's driving or when I'm driving.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
I get that.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
That's me.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Selfish.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
It's not. People enjoy it.

Speaker 7 (26:07):
Even if I'm in the third row, I'm requested to
pick the music.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
That's because you work at a radio station.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
Well, I enjoy it too.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
My rule of thumb is if you're in my car,
I play my music. Yes. If you're in my car
and I say, you know what, I want to hear
something else, you take control, then that's what you would say.
But I would not take control of the music automatically

(26:36):
without being invited to if I wasn't driving. But I
also don't drive with anyone else.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Yeah, you are one of those people.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I don't like to be a passenger.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Like one item in my car.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
No, no, no.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
He likes to be the driver. He doesn't want to
be the passenger. Right.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Exactly. Because I can't control when you turn on that
yellow and wait for it. It's like Beata. Beata drives herself.

Speaker 7 (26:59):
Our boss will not take ride shares, will not get
in other people's cars.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
She needs to be driving.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
I have a very famous phrase. That is, I'll meet
you there. Yeah. Even if we're leaving from the same place,
I'll follow you. I'll meet you there.

Speaker 5 (27:15):
It's not giving easy breezy.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
It really is.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Yeah, it really is.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Does he ever give easy breezy?

Speaker 1 (27:20):
No.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
It's not giving laid back.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
In my Reiki classes.

Speaker 8 (27:25):
Reiki?

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Reiki? Reiki. Yeah, I've never done one, but I've read
about them.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
It's actually really cool. I've done it once.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah, I don't know. Okay, so driver is in charge.
That's the rule. That's what we love. So if you
have a long day, what is it you seek to
do if you didn't have to deal with people when
you got home, meaning your family or your kids or responsibilities?
If you had one night alone after a long day,

(27:54):
what's the first thing you would do when you got
home to relax?

Speaker 4 (28:00):
I'm thinking snuggle my dog.

Speaker 7 (28:02):
I think I would put on a comfy sweat set
and lay on the couch and watch Real Housewives of
Beverly Hills or something.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Just relax. Like just so my brain can turn off.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
I would pour bubbles and salt into a bathtub and
slide into it and sit there while it fills hot.
Then I would wait in that tub until I was
almost sweating. Then I would get out, put on my
Uggs and order food.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Lovely.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
It's quite nice.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
It really is.

Speaker 7 (28:35):
But I get so bored in a bath. It gets
too hot for me. I have plenty of things to
entertain me.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Do you know who's not taking a bath?

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Harry Styles.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Oh, tell us about that.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (28:47):
So he's in the middle of his Together Together tour,
specifically his 30 show residency at Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
And he's on the cover of W Magazine.

Speaker 8 (28:55):
And he revealed the one thing that he does the
second he walks off stage every single time.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
He showers immediately.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Everybody does.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
I would hope so.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
Not true.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Not true.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
It's not true.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Michael Buble does. Lenny Kravitz does.

Speaker 6 (29:11):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
They're dripping sweat. They need to shower.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
I don't think the Jonas Brothers do.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
What?

Speaker 1 (29:16):
How do you know that? You don't know that.

Speaker 8 (29:17):
Because the same thing that they wore- like the final
set of their.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Well, that's probably because they share a dressing room. They
can't all three shower.

Speaker 8 (29:26):
Okay, so I'm just saying it's not everybody. But the
reason why he does it is important. He says, you
go backstage, you shower, and all of a sudden you're
naked in this most vulnerable, almost infant-like state of yourself.
So basically he's saying that this shower... lets him wash
it off. Like he's physically rinsing the performance persona away
so that he can go back to just being Harry.

(29:48):
And I love this for him because I feel like,
could you imagine going from like a stadium lights, thousands
of people screaming your name, straight into regular life, no
transition at all.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
So it's kind of like an ego check for him.

Speaker 8 (29:58):
The shower is him like rinsing off this like rock
star and just being able to be hairy and yeah,
being a human again.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
But you know, in all the venues, the arenas, the stadiums, the,
you know, the, wherever, but he plays their shows in
the big dressing room, the star dressing room, there's always
a big shower.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
It's very common. I've showered after shows before.

Speaker 6 (30:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Like after American Idol or wheel.

Speaker 6 (30:22):
Yeah. Is it weird?

Speaker 5 (30:23):
Do you want to get back to your infant-like state?

Speaker 1 (30:26):
No, I want to be clean. And I want to
be clean after a long day if I have to
go somewhere. I just want to, you know.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
Yeah, but is that weird to think that you're like
naked in the stadium right now and like showering while
there's other people like roaming the hallways and just doing
their business, carrying cables and stuff?

Speaker 1 (30:40):
It's kind of exciting.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
The thrill of it all.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Yeah, the thrill of it all. It's dangerous, you know,
living on the edge. It's Kiss FM. Seacrest with you.
We've got Griselda and Downey on the phone. Griselda, good morning.
How are you?

Speaker 3 (30:54):
I'm doing well.

Speaker 9 (30:55):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Super good. Do you want a four-pack to Universal Studios
Halloween Horror Nights?

Speaker 6 (31:02):
Yes, I do. All right, hit it.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Halloween Horror Nights food, real or made up? All right,
this is going to be a fun game. It's called
Halloween Horror Nights Food, Real or Made Up. The names
of the food items at Halloween Horror Nights are over
the top. So you decide if the item we give
you is a real food item available at this year's
Halloween Horror Nights or if we made it up here

(31:25):
as a staff. Okay, you ready?

Speaker 6 (31:27):
I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
First one, Gut Wound. Gut Wound, a raspberry chocolate croissant
shaped like intestines. Is that real or made up?

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Yum.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Made up? No, it's real.

Speaker 6 (31:43):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Okay, next one. Road scrapings. Road scrapings. Fries, gravy, chicken,
and onions. Is that real at Halloween Horror Nights or
made up?

Speaker 2 (31:53):
That sounds real.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
It's real. Remember, these are going to be gross foods
because it's Horror Nights. So, next one. Dead man's fingers.
Dead man's fingers. Five churros. Decorated. As fingers with strawberry
sauce dripping as blood. Real. No, we actually made that

(32:16):
one up.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Sounds so good, though.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Okay. Just stay in it. Skin and chips nachos. Spicy
pork rinds with cheese and beef jerky. Real or made
up Halloween Horror Night food?

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Real.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
It is real.

Speaker 8 (32:36):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
For the win, Maggot Mac Attack. Mac and cheese topped
with crispy white rice noodles, garlic breadcrumbs, and green chili sauce.
Maggot Mac Attack. Is it real or made up?

Speaker 6 (32:57):
Real.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
We actually made that up.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
You're going to make it up.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
But I don't know. It's only four tickets. Yeah, you
take it anyway. That was tricky. Yeah, Universal Studios, you
take the tickets. Enjoy Halloween Horror Nights. Select nights Thursday
through November 1st, okay? Wow.

Speaker 6 (33:16):
We're there. Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
You guys are awesome. Thank you so much. You are
very welcome. Thank you for listening to Kiss FM.

Speaker 6 (33:21):
Of course.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Love you guys. Love you. It's Kiss. On air with
Ryan Seacrest. You're on Kiss. Jacob on the phone. Let
me grab him. He's in Long Beach. Jacob, accidentally.

Speaker 6 (33:37):
Hi there. Hi there.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Good morning. You accidentally unmatched on Hinge. What happened?

Speaker 2 (33:43):
So I matched with this woman and her profile had
a little note that said no casual dating. And I'm
totally fine with that. I'm looking for a relationship too, though.
But I was going too fast and accidentally hit unmatched
instead of acknowledge.

Speaker 9 (34:00):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
And she probably thinks I saw the no casual thing and,
and bailed because I was just looking for a hookup,
but that's not it at all. I actually want to
find her again. You know, I know her first name,
what she does for work and a couple other things
from her profile, but I don't know her last name or,
or like have any way to contact her.

Speaker 6 (34:25):
So what, what do I do?

Speaker 2 (34:27):
You know, is there some way to get her back
on the app or am I like, Blocked forever.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Well, how about, can you just put her name out here?

Speaker 5 (34:35):
Well, he doesn't know her last name.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Well, what's her first name?

Speaker 6 (34:40):
Melissa.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
And what do you know about her?

Speaker 2 (34:45):
That she works in the visual art field in downtown LA.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
And what does she look like?

Speaker 6 (34:57):
Oh, she is.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
She's a brunette of curly hair.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
OK, well, look, I think we might be able to
somebody's got to know Melissa. Somebody's got to have heard
of that person in that description. I mean, I remember
one time not too long ago, someone called in. They
lost their dog in L.A. We put it out there.
And someone was listening, driving past their dog miles away,

(35:24):
and we returned the dog. That could be your Melissa story.

Speaker 8 (35:27):
Do you remember when I met a guy out? I
was out, and I got his first name, and I
knew what he did for work. Patty somehow found.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
Him on the internet and connected us, and we went out.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
So this can happen.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Yes, it can.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Melissa, visual arts, DTLA, brunette, curly hair. I mean, there's
only one. We're going to put your phone number down
here and we'll call you back. But yeah, not too
long ago, we found that lost dog in a big city.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
Stay hopeful.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
All right.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (36:02):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Hold on one second. We'll get all the information.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
I think that dog situation was like 10 years ago.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
It seems like it was not too long. Was it
a decade ago? I can confirm June 5th, 2015.

Speaker 9 (36:13):
2015.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Mark, I mean like yesterday. It was such a great story.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Yeah, those things stand out.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
I wake up every day thinking about it.

Speaker 6 (36:21):
2.7.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
It is Kiss FM. Non-stop kiss music on the way.
So inside the free iHeartRadio app, you can leave us
these voice notes, these talkbacks. I got some, Sisney and Tanya.
This is from Allison in the 818. She has some
issues with my comments about yoga. Hey, Ryan.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
I was listening to you talk about yoga, and that
was all sorts of wrong.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
You need to practice a stanga. A stanga is where
all the yoga came from. I could teach you if
you want, or you could come to the shala is
what we call it.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
And yes, we do call it a practice.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
What is a stanga?

Speaker 5 (36:58):
And what's a shala?

Speaker 1 (37:00):
I don't know. I don't know these terms. Can you
look up a stanga?

Speaker 4 (37:04):
She's saying that's where yoga came from?

Speaker 8 (37:07):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
A stanga yoga is a dynamic, fast-paced style of yoga
that follows a fixed, repeating sequence. Sorry, you may have
missed that part. Allison, I don't want intense. I just
want to almost have meditative stretch, fall asleep, take a
nap yoga.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
That doesn't sound like it.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
That's what I need. This is from Judith in Corona.
She's single. She's loving it. Hey, I just want to
let you.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
Know about the subject about being single. I love it.
A lot of people do because they don't have to
report to anybody. They don't have to be home at
a certain time. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
Stress, stress, stress.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
I got to be home for dinner.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
No, I'm good.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
So anybody that is single.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
High five. Yeah, here's the thing. I've been there and
not there, Judith. That won't last. Here's the next one.
A really nice message from Nino and Regina. who've been
living in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for 16 years. I
want to thank you all for making our mornings way,
way different. We love you all. We can just wait

(38:12):
every morning to play our iHeart app and listen to
you all.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 8 (38:18):
Ryan Ross is forever.

Speaker 5 (38:21):
I love them.
