Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, you know, we were away last week, and it's
so interesting when I sit with my friends and have
time to be curious with them. I asked them questions,
especially my married friends. And somebody at the table was
talking about, you know, they're so happily. This is going
on and on about how happy they are together they are,
and of course anybody says, why are you doing it?
And I get into that whole thing with everybody. You know,
it's like they feel like when I'm a vacation they

(00:21):
can really ask me about that. Yeah, the wine's flowing,
like all right it So anyway, then someone, my other buddy,
chimes in.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
He says, you know what they say. I said what
he says.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
All your relationships are going to fail except the last one.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Are you in your last one?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (00:38):
He asked that to the table obviously, but think about that.
That's true. You're all gonna fil with the last one,
which is a simple way of putting it, but you
only think that way when you're going through it, right,
So it was one of the things happened during our
PA Why are you bringing this up? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (00:54):
So you.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Was this before or after you were doing that underwater
resistance weight training.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
What do you call that?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Well, that's my aqua aerobics workout that I was trying
to I'm trying to get creative all right now. I
posted this workout with the dumbbells in the ocean, right,
and Dodd, who coaches me right, helps me with the training.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
It's amazing. Guy Dodd.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
In the FaceTime in the picture exactly, he's there. Well,
he's not there, he's on FaceTime, but he's there to
make sure I don't drown, so he can call somebody
if I do. Anyway, the point is you go. You'll
go under water and use the resistance of the water
and the weight and it's just so fun and creative.
I got so bored during exercise this summer that I

(01:46):
wanted to do something different outside and in the water
and all that stuff. When it's hot, with hot you,
I don't feel great in real heat working out without
being in water. So that was what I tried, and
I really enjoyed it. It's hard, but I really enjoyed it,
and I love being in the water. But I started
looking at the things and so someone said to me
after and the comments afterwards, Then.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I said, why do I post this stuff?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
You know?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Why why why just post it?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Don't have that was a cringe mentality, like you need
to just like post what you want to post.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
The comment that stood out was, hey, why do you
shave your armpits?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You shave your arm pits?

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Oh, I didn't even notice you didn't have hair under them.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I do maintain my own pits. I thought everybody did.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, you never.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
You don't like to have like the spider looking.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
I don't like hair hanging out from your armpits. I
thought men did do that, Like I thought we trimmed
our underarm hair.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Do your men not? Does your do?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I think he? But like I don't think he not?
Think he does?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
But I keep him pretty smooth though, but they're not
very bushy. Yeah, I just don't like. I just don't
like lie of hair. And what's the issue, Tanya?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Uh No, No, a zero issue. I think you look
so good. You should be so proud. Don't listen to
the haters. Look at your arms. Your legs look insane.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Look at that.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
How do you look like a like a bonafide Olympic
athlete in this?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Oh there's a stretch, but thank you. I don't think
got it.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I wasn't sure I survived that day to post it.
I mean it was the hardest thing.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Oh, this was just one day.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
That was one day. That was one work.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
I'm also like so impressed that you got underwater video? Like,
how did you get underwater video?

Speaker 3 (03:31):
You can take your phone underwater? They're all waterproof and
it can No, I take mine underwater all the time.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
It's scared. Three years old, my phone still works. Chat
with a go pro. Now, so this wasn't your trainer
filming you? Who was filming you? No?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
No, we have friend filming. Yeah, you got friend. It's
got a go pro you. Everybody's friend. Everybody's creating content
these days. Yeah, so I have a content creating friend.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Seem on your shorts? Yeah, I had shorts, so I
thought I would say three. Oh really and their leopard
aren't they leopard print? Yeah? I like that. Maxim has
a pair of those. You do.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
It was one of those things where I didn't really
notice that until I noticed it, and it was too late.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Once I noticed they were too short and they were
an animal print.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
I think you'd get better results if you did it
in a speedo.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Why are you pushing me? I thought I pushed it
a limit in that workout and now it's not good enough.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
For no, no, no, because I feel like you have a
lot of like as I see you doing the squads
and stuff, there's a lot of material just like floating around.
I feel like if you were in a speed on
it was just like tight. It might just be easier
for you.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Well, sisten, if.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
History repeats itself, guess who's gonna buy me? One is
a gift and her husband?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, there you go the idea, there you go, monogram
it for you.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah it get your husband in the same speedos red Rye,
we'll do a partner underwater aqua aerobic weightlifting workout.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
It's actually a great idea.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Speedo

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
