Today's ash Wednesday starts for forty days of lent leading
up to Easter, which my mother is funny. My sister's
already text me about where we're going to hide the eggs.
And if you're wondering why Easter moves every year, I
was looking at this. It's celebrated on the first Sunday
after the first full moon, after the first day of spring.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
That's why, you know.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
My kids were asking me, and I was like, I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
It just moves. Yeah, what's a lot of things.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Its early as March twenty second, or as late as
April twenty fifth, anyway.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Many take Lent as an opportunity to give something up
for forty days to improve their life in a better
way sacrifice, right, I like it in practice? So I mean,
is anybody doing it?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I'm doing it.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I started this morning.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Okay, what are you giving up for lent?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
I did not hit the snooze button this morning, So
I am giving up snoozing?

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Is that really what the Lord had in mind?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
And when it's a sacrifice, it is a sacrifice for
me who is a two.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Uses every single.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Day, even times a day snoozer. So this is huge, huge, Tanya,
what are you giving up for lent?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I am giving up being critical? You're critical? Yeah, I
can be critical. Okay, first of all, you're like the
most positive person.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
I'm That's what people, That's what people.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
First of all, I'm not critical here. I am getting
a little bit more critical with my partner and I want.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
To sassy pants. No, it's not sassy like.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
It's more like uh stuff that if he leaves stuff,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
It's like it's like house.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Stuff, like you're nagging.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Yeah, that type of I want to I want to
be I want to be more aware and I've told
him to hold me accountable to it.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Well, you're being critical on yourself by giving up, like
you're being too critical on yourself. Okay, Ruby, what are
you giving up for Lent?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I am giving up eating out.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
I feel like I need to do better, like about
just eating out or just same.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I don't know, it's so hard, but I'm gonna yeah,
home cooked meals.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Only, or you're gonna end up postmating. No, no, no, don't
say that. Don't say yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
You should give yourself like a one cheat day per week,
forty days, just.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Forty days.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
We can do a fun So are the latest guy

Normally I give up soda, like just the sugary once.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
But this year I'm gonna go a little harder.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I'm gonna give up diet soda as well. So you're
a soda guy. Yeah, oh my god, I love my
Saudi pop.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
So I was I was gonna. I'm considering a couple
of things. I'm either gonna give up impatient being impatient.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
That would be really hard, Like you stop yourself a minute,
you start feeling it.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Why, this is why the Lord is asking.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
So I don't know, I haven't gotten that far yet,
but I might give up being impatient for forty days.
And the other thing is I will give up my
pickup basketball games.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Just hey, that doesn't happen. You don't do those, but if.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
I did, I would give that up. I don't play.
I don't play.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
You sound like my son.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Maxine's like, I'm gonna give up broccoli, and I was like,
that's not how this works, broccoli. I'm gonna give up
lifting hard heavy weights.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
I think I'm gonna try and be patient. Gosh, we'll
see all on that last it's a forty day run.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Forty days.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
You're not even impatient with this conversation right now, So
I can't wait. That's forty days, and that's too long.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
It needs to be twenty anyway, Lent anybody else want
to chime and bus giving up something for Lent?

Speaker 1 (04:05):

Speaker 4 (04:15):
I'm a baker, so I always have to have dessert,
like after dinner, and.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Well, then you should give up dessert, not just sugar.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Okay, that's sure, it's sugar. Sugar.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
No, No, the Lord would like her to give up
refined sugar, not just chocolate cake or.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
By the way, I've done that for one week and
it is painfully difficult.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
All sugar, so like even fruit.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yes, wow, I like it.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
