Speaker 1 (00:00):
One of two points seven. It's Castam, that is sumber,

(00:03):
it's Ryan Seacrest with you sistant, he tell you Sophia
in the back room. And Sebastian Menescalco is a household
name comedian and actor joins us. Now it's great to
see you again. After say you know he set a
record on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune not too long ago.
Great job.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I gotta tell you that Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. For me,
it was the highlight of my career. I've never felt
that excited in my life. I was stunned that I
won that puzzle. I mean, I'm not good at that.
And when it when it came to my head, hundred grand,
I mean it was it was beautiful for charity.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
And then Sebastian writes a handwritten thank you note that
comes to my home. I haven't gotten a hand written
thank you note since I was in high school.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Thank you, No, this is my new thing.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
You inspired me, by the way, because you sent something
extremely nice to me and my family while we were
out on vacation. And I used to be a big
thank you note. Guy used to go on auditions and
I used to send like a pizza to the casting
director after the audition, thanking her for the opportunity. So
I started sending out thank you notes to two people

(01:16):
that you know, I deserve a thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's very very thoughtful and very nice, and I was
so excited to get it. Not I'm just you know,
people are listening to this, they're seeing it where it
may be posted. But I want to play. This is
a Sebastian on stage. Just listen to sebastianaire.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
So we pull up to the house, we get out
of the car. Now we don't go right in because
my wife's got a coach made before we.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Go into any social event. So come up to the door.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I ring the bell.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
They came to the door as a couple. That bothered me.
All right, so do you play that? Because then you
know they've they've They've done you on SNL a few
times too. I went to nice school.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
When I passed the past, I cancel the gig to
be here, and my agent was like.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Why would you do? That's Marcella Inez and then Glenn
Tale I heard her do this. I have to quiet
down my inner Sebastian. I gotta put down. I gotta
say no now. And even Harry Styles got in on run.
This guy took the close and he walked right out

(02:30):
of the school. We got the security footage. Now, what
do you what do you make of that? That's just
the way you talk, That's just the way you are.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I I listen, everybody's been on SNL doing me except me.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Very flattering to have all these people doing me on
SNL and uh and that Marcello is definitely a fun guy.
So yeah, it's been it's been crazy. I mean a
lot a lot of people watching that, and I'm trying
to get on the show myself. But we'll see.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Now. Lorne Michaels makes those calls still, And it is
interesting that you have never hosted it. I actually looked
that up and I saw that you never hosted. But
it seems to me that that has laid the groundwork
that they're all doing you, that they're at least a
cameo to walk in on them doing you might present
itself and you be opening it. We should start the
campaign here or continue the campaign here. Sebastian on SNL.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
You got to be able to get me on the show. No,
I mean, you've got pulling in.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
This world that I don't I know, I don't ye Ryan,
you know a guy, let's go. Yeah, I've met Lorne
Michaels and I've seen SNL. I don't know. Now, I
want to play a song and then we're gonna find
out afterwards. What happened here? How it happened here? Sebastian
Escalo and see Bioki. I don't know how this happened,
but here it is. Does it your father know you

(03:55):
dance like that? It's a hit, it's not kissy. Yes,
How in the world did that song happen?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
You know? Me and my buddy Freddie Wexler, who I
work with. He's kind of my creative director. He's in
the music business. We're closely with Billy Joel Bieber and
a bunch of Dufferin artists over the years. And we
went into the studio and we wanted to create something
for my tour, kind of like a personal song for

(04:24):
my it Ain't right tour. So we were just goofing
around in the studio and next thing you know, I
started doing this. Does your father know you dance like that?
It's something that I've always said when I go to nightclubs.
You walk into a nightclub and you'd see these gyrations
and this that and in my head and go does
your father? And then just kind of making fun of

(04:48):
the whole nightclub scene because you know, I've been out
of that scene for a while, and now you go
and it's like sparklers and the guy he thinks he's
got a shot with the waitress. You know, it's it's
it's uh, it's this whole club culture that I kind
of made fun of. And and I would just I
was goofing around on a microphone and next thing you know,

(05:10):
Steve Aoki heard the song. He put it on his
own spin on it. It's it's a catchy song and
I think people will enjoy it.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Sebastian Maniscalco here, it's out that song. Are you wearing pajamas?
Did those short sleep pajamas you got on here this
morning for us?

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Uh? You know what? Are you making fun of me?
Because I was making fun of you about the turtlenecks.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
I mean, he he had a run at me because
I wore a turtleneck the other night.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
No, I said you were a turtleneck quite well. You
don't see a lot of men pouring off overty. Adams appen.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I agree. All right man, great to see Sebastian. Thank
you so much for coming on. When will you? I mean,
I know that these things, you know, they take time
and and it's a lot of work. Play When will
you do another special? Another tour?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
What's on the schedule? Probably twenty twenty seven. I'll start
another tour right now. I'm in the accumulating material phase.
I just spent a week at my in laws in Florida,
so literally it just got back last night, so I'm
trying to adjust. It's it's similar to the Astronauts coming

(06:26):
back to coming back for the in laws.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
So it's the crew of Artemis and you can relate.
All right. Good saybody, thanks for coming on. Take your

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
