Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tanya is in a bind.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
So we my husband and I I love saying that
we got invited to two weddings on the same weekend,
both destination.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Oh, so we have to.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Pick one and one of them is more like my
longer friend, and then one of them is Robbie's longer
term friends.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
So these two people that have the weddings on the
same weekend don't know each other, correct, they don't know
each other to be connected.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
The chances of that, yes.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
So we're kind of like, which one.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Are the destinations?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Like a far apart two, It's not like, yeah, we can't.
The funny thing is, though, one wedding is on a
Saturday and one wedding is on a Sunday, So technically
we could do both, but it would be it would
require too many flights and headaches.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
And which destination is more appealing to you and Robbie. Wait, really,
that's how you would do.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
It, because that's the fair way to do it, because
otherwise you're picking a favorite person.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I said we should pick the invitation we got first.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Well, that's a good rule. Actually, when you put it like.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
That, it was my friend that sent it first. Interesting rule,
what if you put their names in a hat you
just pick.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
I feel like he's not going to care if you
if you go to the one that is close to
you for a longer period of time, neither one.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Of I mean, obviously we want to we want to
go to both. That's like that would be, they're both
people that we love and value.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Can you divide and conquer, Divide and conquer, divide and conquer,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
