Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, here we go. Mario Lopez here back in studio,
fired up.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
To be hanging with you for the next few hours.
A lot of radio fun to get into, including a
great guest. Actor comic Alex Moffat set to join us
with a scoop on his new movie, Love on Tap.
His time over on SNL and a whole bunch more.
Plus our weekly fake debate. Got all that and more,
so turn it up and let's get the fun started.
You're on with Mario Lopez. You're on Mario Lopez digging
(00:26):
into the buzz because Netflix is taking on board games.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Hollywood buzz.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
So Netflix is planning a Monopoly competition series.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Oh my gosh, my son Dominic is going to freak
out because he loves to play Monopoly. They're now casting
for it where contestants have the chance to win $ 2 million.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
12 players will compete on a life-size Monopoly town square
and will use strategy, alliance, and deal-making to take home
the prize. Contestants will also have the opportunity to earn
money buy properties, and negotiate deals in order to be
the last one standing. Monopoly will premiere in the fall
(01:04):
of 2027. Oh, that sounds really cool, and I can't
believe they haven't done one yet.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
That's wild.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Mario and Courtney Lopez here.
Speaker 3 (01:16):

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yo, I'm Mario Lopez. Got a fake debate coming up
in just two or three songs, so you got to
pick your side, Team Mario or Team Kordo. Back to
find out who's pro and who's con and what we're
debating next.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
You're on Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Time for a weekly fake debate where the topics are
made up on the spot, but the passion is real.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Oh, I'm real. Way you are.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Nope.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
No jaw roll allowed today.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I'm real. All right.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Who's going to be pro? Who's going to be con?
Speaker 6 (02:05):
My only rule is no jaw roll. You will be
pro because you were con last week. Courtney will be
con because she was pro last week.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Because I'm con-y.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
Because she's con-y. And your topic today, which will have
15 seconds to make your case and then a 10
second rebuttal afterwards, is telling someone to take your time.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I am pro telling someone to take your time.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
You are pro telling someone to take your time.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Look, the worst thing that can happen is someone rushes
doing a task and they're sloppy. It doesn't look good.
It's not complete. You never want to be rushed. You
want to take your time. There's a big difference. I'll
explain later. All right.
Speaker 7 (02:45):
Mrs.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Lopez.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
There is nothing worse than someone telling you to take
your time. It's equivalent to relax or calm down.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
It's not okay.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
And furthermore, there is nothing you do in your life
where you take your time.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Mr.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Lopez.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
To quote the infamous Pointer Sisters, baby, you can do it.
Take your time. Do it right. You can do it, baby.
Do it tonight. Baby, you can do it. Take your time.
Do it right. You can do it, baby. Do it tonight.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Mrs.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
Lopez.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
A very pointed.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Commissionary, if you will.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yo, Mario Lopez.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
More music and fun coming your way. But first, some
quick food buzz. Coming soon, a healthier ketchup. You forget
ketchup's not exactly healthy.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
It's so good, though.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Typical bottle of ketchup has pretty much zero protein. Well,
until now, they figured out how to blend algae protein
into tomato ketchup to give it four times the original
protein and adding essential amino.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Acids and minerals.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
But, of course, putting this new concoction of ketchup on
deep fried food doesn't make your dinner much healthier. All
that grease and saturated fat will still be there.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
So what do I put on my deep fried food
to make it healthy?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
This is just not, you're not adding to the grease
in fat. French fries, I guess, will be a little
bit better for you. My wife, who comes from ketchup.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Capital of the world. The ketchup mines. Hunts. It's Hunts, right?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Or is it?
Speaker 5 (04:24):
No, Heinz. No, Heinz.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
That's blasphemy. Pardon me. Heinz. Heinz. That's right.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Heinz.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I won't tell her. Yes, I'm sure she'll be excited
about this. All right, let's get back to news.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
All right, Mario and Courtney Lopez here. A few more songs.
Then going to dig into our mentions to see what's
on your mind. Add on with Mario on Facebook and X.
Add on with Mario Lopez on IG. Questions, comments, random thoughts,
whatever you got. Love hearing from you. Back to see
what you've sent our way.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Coming up next.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
All right.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Add on with Mario on Facebook and X. Add on
with Mario Lopez on IG. Love hearing from you, Mario
Lopez here. Who's this one from, honey?
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Well, this is from at Erica Schmitz. And she says, wait,
are you seriously playing Mr.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Fantastic?
Speaker 4 (05:01):
That's my son's. Favorite cartoon and now mine too, I guess.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Ha ha. Wink wink.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
Mr.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Fantastic.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
That's actually Buntastic, but I wanted to adopt it for Mr.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Fantastic.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yes, Erica, I am playing Mr. Fantastic on Marvel's Spidey
and Friends.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
It's really cool.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
And I'm excited to show our youngest, Santino, so I
can point him out. And they did a good job
of kind of making the little younger version look like me.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Kind of looks like my son, Dominic. But check it
out on Disney Junior, Spidey and Friends, Mr. Fantastic.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Mario, Courtney Lopez here. Music rolls on after some quick
booze buzz. The classic frozen margarita is getting a new
twist on TikTok. Oh, this is your jam, honey.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I know. This one comes in various fruit flavors and
is served just like soft serve ice cream. Stop it.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
What?
Speaker 3 (05:53):
The semi-secret recipe includes heavy cream, house margarita mix, a
touch of tequila.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Well, it's got to be more than a touch. Yeah,
a lot of tequila.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
And restaurants have also started offering their versions of this
trendy treat. We have to look up where it's being offered.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
And check it out.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Yeah, totally. This is my favorite, as you know.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
And I can't wait to get drunk. It kind of
sounds like a daiquiri, but with tequila. I'm here for it.
Speaker 6 (06:20):
It's like alcoholic ice cream.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Mario Lopez here, keeping the music coming your way as
we let you know that iHeartRadio is getting ready to
bring you the biggest Latin artists in the world on
one stage again at our iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina. It's going
down Saturday, October 17th at the Casella Center in Miami.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Allmari.com slash Fiesta.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Latina to find out everything you need to know, including
a list of the.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Incredible artists on this year's lineup.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Just hit up Ticketmaster.com to get them before they sell out.
You're on Mario Lopez, keeping the music and fun coming
your way as we fire up Zoom so we can
(07:06):
chat with today's guest, comic actor Alex Moffat. You know
him from SNL, new rom-com Love on Tap, just hit streaming.
Going to get the scoop on that and more when
Alex joins us next. What's up, you're on Mario Lopez.
Joining me right now, actor and comic Alex Moffat.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
How you doing, Alex?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Terrific, Mario. Mr. Lopez, if you're nasty, I'm great.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
That's right. And you know what? The hair is looking good.
The wig is tight today. I like it. And you
just ran your fingers through it. I saw it. And
it's still, look at that. Still remain good.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Still floofy. You look good too. Nice and slick.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Thank you.
Speaker 7 (07:41):
Can I tell you, when I just now mentioned to
our nanny that I was doing your show and she said, oh,
I love his dimples.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Oh, please, please send her my love.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Please send her my love. Clearly she has impeccable taste.
Congrats on the new movie, man. Love on Tap. That's
a fun title.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
It's out now. Rom-com that takes place in a brewery.
Tell me about it.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Well, a brewery. I don't know if you drink beer, Mario.
Are you a beer head? Beer drinker?
Speaker 2 (08:11):
You know, I'll be honest with you. I'm not a
big beer guy. I'll have one once in a while.
I feel too full. I feel too full.
Speaker 7 (08:16):
I hear you.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
I'm like a straight to the vein guy. Tequila is
more my vibe.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
But I will enjoy a nice, you know, Cohen with
some seafood or something.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Sure.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
All right.
Speaker 7 (08:26):
Well, then if you're not a huge beer guy, you
might not enjoy this movie very much.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
It's strictly for now. It takes place in a brewery.
Speaker 7 (08:35):
Basically, this gal played by Kennedy McMahon, the wonderful, wonderful
actor Kennedy. She loses her pep pep, her dada who
owned a brewery. And when he died, he left it
to her. She's in over her head. And in comes
a big city consultant to help her fix all the
problems with the brewery.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
And that's where the Moff Dog comes in. And hilarity ensues.
Love ensues.
Speaker 7 (08:59):
My wife is in it, Caroline Kingsley. There's an alpaca
in it and a whole cast of wonderful characters. So
it's a great time.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
I love it. And like I said, I think the
title is very clever. All right, Alex, hang tight for me.
Quick break. We're going to come back with some more
Alex Moff.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
More fun on the way. On with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Getting back to Alex Moffitt, who's hanging out on Zoom.
You're on Mario Lopez. New movie is Love on Tap.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
But you also got a Christmas movie coming out later
this year called Unbearable Christmas.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Julia Stiles. Good guess. Caroline Ray, David Cross. I love
a good holiday woman.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Woman.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Ha ha.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Hello.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
As my wife walks in. I love a good holiday movie.
There she is.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Holiday woman.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
That was funny timing. What's the premise of this one?
Speaker 3 (09:41):
By the way, I do love a good holiday woman, too.
Speaker 7 (09:46):
And who doesn't love a good holiday woman? So, in
this particular holiday woman, there's a family. Julia Stiles is
my holiday woman.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Oh, nice.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
And we are a married couple. We've got two kids.
There's a teddy bear involved. There's a road trip. David Cross,
you might see with no clothes on. Uh-oh.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Steven Root is in this thing. Caroline Rae. It is true.
Speaker 7 (10:16):
It's just a gem of a Christmas movie.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
I loved it.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
That's fun.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
And fun fact, Al Roker makes a little cameo.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Oh, a little cameo from Al. Okay.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Be looking out for that. All right. Hang tight. More
with Alex coming up. First, more music. You're on Mario Lopez.
Catching up with Alex Moffat. New movie Love on Tap
now streaming. But you also wrapped a Broadway run, correct?
Speaker 7 (10:41):
Well, yes.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
I mean, you know. Off-Broadway, Broadway, who's counting?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Got it, got it.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
I mean, they do count.
Speaker 7 (10:48):
The number of seats in a theater, and that's what
delineates Broadway from Off-Broadway.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
But yeah, Bigfoot the musical, it was a freaking gas.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
It sounds hilarious.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
It was great.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
I played an unsavory, oft-drunk small-town mayor in a West
Virginia town.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
It was a blast. I got to pretend I'm a
real song and dance man.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
That's awesome, man.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Have you done Broadway?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Yes, sir.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
What'd you do?
Speaker 2 (11:13):
I met my wife doing Broadway. Did a chorus line. Yeah,
back in 2008.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Really?
Speaker 2 (11:18):
And that's where you guys met? That's where we met.
How many seats were in the theater? Yeah, I don't
know how many.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
Seats were in the theater.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yeah, how many seats?
Speaker 3 (11:31):
But yeah, no, it's always a special treat when we
get to go back and see these shows, Broadway shows.
Speaker 7 (11:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Well, thanks for coming out to see Bigfoot.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
You know what? I was not aware of it, to
be honest.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
But if it was still running, I'd go check it
out because it sounds like my kind of show.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
All right, Alex, hang tight. Going to play a few
more songs. I want to talk a little SNL and
more with Alex Moffitt coming up. Alex Moffitt hanging out
on Zoom. Mario Lopez here. New movie is Love on Tap.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Hey, Mario, can I ask you a question? And this
is sincere.
Speaker 7 (11:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
I have no idea how old you are. I'm not
going to ask. I'm sure I could Google it.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
You haven't aged in 25 years.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Oh, you're nice.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
You're sweet.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
I'm not blowing smoke, but as a very vain person
who wants to cling to my youth as long as
I can, can I ask just one thing that you employ,
that you do? I.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Ironically mentioned it earlier. I don't drink beer. I drink tequila.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
It's sort of like embalming fluid and keeps you preserved.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
That is the fountain of youth.
Speaker 7 (12:31):
There we go.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
But thank you. I appreciate the kind words, my man.
I appreciate the kind words.
Speaker 7 (12:36):
Anybody who's seen you age or not age has the
same thought.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
They're like, what the? He's frozen as later.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Alex, I'll say that. And just for men. Otherwise, I'd
be looking like Anderson Cooper.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Now that looks so natural, my friend.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Thank you. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
All right.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
One more thing I want to ask. Quick break, and
we're going to come back and wrap it up.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Hear the full interview now at onwithmario.com. More Mario Lopez
on the way.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Wrapping up with Alex Moffitt. You're on with Mario Lopez.
And you mentioned Saturday Night Live earlier. I remember, man,
you were great at impressions.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
What was the first one you nailed down?
Speaker 2 (13:14):
And is there a certain.
Technique you use in perfecting it?
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Ooh, uh, first one I nailed down.
Speaker 7 (13:22):
I mean, the first impression I got to do on
that show was Eric Trump. It was my first week,
Mikey day and, uh, Vanessa Bayer and Streeter Seidel and.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
I all wrote an update.
Speaker 7 (13:35):
And, uh, I had just seen this like picture that
the Trump family put out that was like millennials for Trump.
And it was his like three adult children, uh, just
kind of like all very seriously looking to the camera.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
Like, yeah, we're all cool kids, right? We all want
to vote for our dad.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
And Eric just looked like he was in a different.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Picture than the rest of them. And so I just
kind of took that and ran with it.
Speaker 7 (14:02):
Sometimes it's just a little seed of a thing that
makes me go, okay, now I'm just going to invent
a character. Like my impression of Eric Trump, spoiler alert,
wasn't exactly spot on. So I think half of it
is just inventing a character for it.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Hey, man, nice chatting with you. Congratulations on everything. And everyone,
please be sure to check out the new film Love
on Tap, which is streaming right now on Amazon Prime
and Apple TV. Alex, thanks for checking in, man.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
Thanks, man. I'm going to go have a tequila in
your honor.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Sounds good, brother. Take care.
Speaker 3 (14:35):

Speaker 3 (15:07):
So get all the info at almara.com slash festival or
buy tickets now at axs.com. Omar Lopez, music rolls on
right after Frazier tries to make us think by quickly
sharing one of the random thoughts floating in his head.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
What do you got?
Speaker 6 (15:22):
If reincarnation is real and time isn't linear, then your
next life could actually be 10,000 years in the past.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Right?
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Let's discuss time isn't linear for a second. What does
that mean exactly?
Speaker 6 (15:32):
That means that all time exists at the same instance.
So the past, present, and the future all exist in
the same moment.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
That's mad confusing.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
It's very confusing and very difficult to understand. But the
concept behind that is that time is the fourth dimension.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Okay. And that actually would explain the recent movie I saw,
The End of Oak Street. It might. Because there's a
lot of that going on. Okay. That makes a little
more sense. And as far as reincarnation, I know Hindus
believe in that. There are some that believe.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
I don't necessarily believe in it, but it is an
interesting concept that if it does exist and time isn't linear-
then your next life could be in the past.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Well, not just that. You already existed. Do you get
to choose what you're reincarnated into?
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Oh, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Well, I mean, you know what I mean? That's not.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
Yeah, what if you're a cricket?
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Coming up, more Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Oh, Mario Lopez. Music rolls on, but I wanted to
mention this.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Parents, if you've heard your kids saying, that's AI, don't
assume they're talking about technology.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Apparently, Gen Alpha has turned... Wait, Gen Alpha's... Your kids,
all your kids. Gen X... millennials, Gen Z, and then
Gen Alpha, correct?
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Okay. Yes, it's after Gen Z. Got it. Gen Alpha has.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Turned the phrase into their version of calling something fake, sketchy,
or just plain suspicious. If a toy is a cheap knockoff,
a story sounds made up, or something feels a little off,
kids just say, oh, that's AI. So now AI is
becoming shorthand for anything that seems inauthentic. We may have
said something is plastic or Photoshop, but today, It's AI. Well,
we can relate to, oh, that's Photoshop. We don't use
(17:04):
that anymore.
Speaker 7 (17:04):
No.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
RIP Photoshop.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
It's all about AI.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
All right.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Let's get back to the music. All right.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Getting close to the end of our radio fun. Mario
Lopez here. We got to get to our comment of
the week. A few more songs. We're going to see
who's getting honored this week. In the meantime, more music.
Probably got time to squeeze in one last request or two.
So if you got something you want to hear, slide
into our DMs over on IG at on Mario Lopez.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
Yo, I'm Mario Lopez.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Time to wrap up the week like we always do
with the comment of the week.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
What do you got for us, Frazier?
Speaker 6 (17:33):
This is from at him1984. Just a friendly reminder that
in Terminator, Sarah Connor was committed to a psychiatric institution
after attempting to destroy AI data centers. A decision made
because authorities believe her warnings about the future were the
results of delusions.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Isn't it crazy that that movie, well, the original.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
The original was in like 88 or something.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yeah, maybe earlier, actually.
Speaker 6 (17:56):
