joining us later as well. Actress Brenda Song is going

movie and more.

into the buzz to see what is trending. And we're
just a few songs away from a quick musical trip
to the past for our throwback soundtrack. So turn it
up and let's go. You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
A Mario Courtney Lopez keeping the music coming your way
as Cordo breaks down a few of the new things
hitting TV and streaming.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Amazon Prime Video has the premiere of The Gray House,
an eight episode limited series executive produced by Kevin Costner
and Morgan Freeman, directed by Roland Joffey and based on
true events from the American Civil War.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Well like these kind of shows, This is going on
the nightstand?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Quick question, what's a random thought? Later? Remind me okay?
Netflix begins streaming season one of The German comedy Happens
Rapper Tony returns to his hometown for his mother's funeral
and suddenly finds himself juggling career dreams and surprise fatherhood
to a teenage son.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Surprise, just a German rapper makes me laugh.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Season one of Inside the CIA premiering on Hulu and Disney.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
So.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
This series offers an in depth, immersive look at the
inner workings of the CIA, featuring real life stories told
directly by elite intelligent officers and spies themselves. God, what
if that was your job? Like I'm a spy. It
explores unbelievable, untold, and world changing missions that push beyond
the red line of danger.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Ooh okay, I like that. Inside the CIA also just
a quick shout out. Our Apple TV wasn't working. We
were going to see the documentary about Girl Most Wanted,
the woman who escaped and then got caught. Yes, right, yes,
but it wasn't working, so we switched to Netflix and
I ended up watching the Elizabeth Smart documentary You Fell Asleep, Honey.
(02:01):
It's really good at newer, yes, it's brand new. It's
really good from her perspective, and in the Daughters and
the thing she was saying, I was, I was like,
I was tired, but I got entranced. You gotta watch it.
But it kept hooked, No, it kept me hooked. It's
really and it's just like, wow, that's a good I
suggest that one that I do want to.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I know a lot about it just from reading it.
But because she's actually.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
She's going on it, never heard her hers yeah, yeah,
in her being able to come.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
It's just I don't want to give too much away.
But it's a good watch. And it's only an hour
and a half. You all, Mario Courtney Lopez a few
more songs. I want to make a quick stop and
do Cortos Corner for a fresh life hacker too. What
are we talking about today, honey?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
So a couple easy, cheap organizational hacks.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Oh we got to apply those all right? Back with
Cordos corner and ten don't move a Mario Courtney Lopez
quick stop in a Quardo's corner to talk organizational hacks. Right,
that's right.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
So here are a couple super easy organization hacks that
take almost no time or money but liver big wins
for keeping your daily life feeling more put together. And
who doesn't want that the one touch roll. When you
bring something home, mail, keys, groceries, jacket, deal with it
immediately instead of setting it down just for a second.
(03:13):
Drop keys in a designated bowl by the door, Do
that sort mail over by the recycling bin right away,
hang up your jacket. This ten second habit prevents ninety
percent of surface clutter build up and saves you from
the dreaded where did I put that? Moment? Later and
it's everything should have a place, and just put it there.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Just put it in and get it down.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
And label everything in doors, in cabinets, grab a cheap
label maker or even just a marker and masking tape
and label inside the drawers, pantry, shelves, medicine cabinets, things
like charging cables, snacks, first aid, or spices. It takes
five to ten minutes per area, but instantly makes everyone,
including future you put things back in the right spot
(03:57):
without thinking. Good one and bonus, it lowers mental load
if you don't have to remember where stuff lives. But also,
I've done this before and then people don't put the
stuff back where it sets.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
We don't invite those people back.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
More.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Mario Lopez coming up on Mario, Courtney Lopez Cordo gonna
make us think with a random thought. All right, what
do you got?
Speaker 3 (04:22):
So this is a random thought slash question. So earlier
we talked about new shows coming out in Amazon Prime
has a premiere of The Gray House. And it's spelled
g R A y. What about g R e y?
Speaker 2 (04:36):
That's a color?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
What's gray with a?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
It's a name?
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Wait, it's that simple, that's simple. Yes, forget it.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
There's two types of grain.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
No, yeah, it's it's typically the A is the name
and the E is the color.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Correct. No, No, there are people who will.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Ray's anatomy, Meredith Gray was e y.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
There are people who will talk to me once in
a while, there are g R E y. But I
knew an Aaron Gray and it was g R a y. Yeah,
so it can go. I know people who.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Spell it both ways, but the correct way is supposed
to be with an A.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Yes, you don't know that.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
I'm just saying it.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Still I don't have an answer.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
A little more music, thank gonna fire up zoom so
we can chat with today's guests. Actress Brenda's song with
Mario and Courtney Lopez going to talk z Utopia too.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Placi's got a new movie hitting theaters this weekend. Going
to get a scoop on that and more when Brenda
joins us more.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
So Bro Mario Lopez Jody right now on Zoom actress
Brenda's song. How you doing, Brenda, I'm good? How are you?
Nice to see you? I saw you for a brief
moment on the red carpet of the globes, but you
were rushing in. I believe, Yes, We're so. I know
everybody was late. It's good to see you though. In
congrats on this new film. I love the title Operation
(05:54):
Taco Gary's I already want to see it right there.
And I like the way it's being described a sci
fi action comedy. Is that Is that pretty accurate? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (06:04):
I think it is. It's I would say, like a
sci fi.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Absurdist buddy action comedy because it gives a lot of
that nods like that old school like nineties two thousand's
absurdist comedy, like The Dumb and Dumber, the Dude Wears
My Car. You know, this is the end that sort
of like absurdance comedy that I feel like we've sort
of been missing.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Yeah, And I remember reading the script and being like,
what am I reading?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Like?
Speaker 5 (06:30):
This is insane in the best way possible.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Yeah, No, we could all use a lot of comedy
right now. So that's great, all right. Brenda hank Ty
quick break, lots more to talk about, Brenda.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Song more, Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Getting back to actress Brenda's song. Who was hanging out
on Zoom? Mario Lopez, You're a new movie is Operation Tackle?
Gary's ba Congrats on your other show, Running Point on
Netflix alongside Kate Hudson. Of course, For those who may
not be familiar, tell us what it's about.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
So Running Point is a show about basically, it's Genie
Buss's story. She and her family have owned Lakers for
many years. They just sold they just sold it this
past year. But it's basically her story and how she
came to run one of the biggest franchises in the
world and the struggles of being a you know, a
(07:21):
female led franchise in a sort of modern day, and
also the just the inner dynamic dynamics and workings of
having your siblings work with you and how crazy that
can be and give such a fantastic cast there justin
the Roe Scott MacArthur.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Ju Tarvar Jay Ellis.
Speaker 6 (07:39):
We have such a lovely cast that to me, that
project is like home, Like it's the best. I truly
get to live my best life because I'm such a
sports girl and sometimes I'm like, oh, I really feel
like I am running a team.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
It's like my dream job.
Speaker 6 (07:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
I love Genie. She's a sweetheart. All right, Hey, time
more with Brenda coming up? First, one music, You're al
Mario Lopez got actress Brenda's song on Zoom. And so
you're also working with another friend of mine, Eva Longoria.
You're doing a new film, fifth Wheel. How's you guys
are in production already?
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Huh yeah, we're filling it out. This is my one
day off and so we rapt last night late. I
was like, guys, I need to go to sleep and
I have like a press day.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
They're like, what are you doing?
Speaker 6 (08:16):
I was like, Eva is the last person to tell
me to like stop though, because that woman is like
the most impressive woman I've ever met in my life, Like.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
The most prepared director ever.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
I say I tell people this all the time that
she prepped for this movie the same way a mom
preps for vacation. She is there is no scenario that
we could ever come to face that she has not
packed something for She is so kind and generous and
funny and such an amazing leader. And I'm having the
best time working on the Fifth Wheel because.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
It's like hanging out with my girlfriends. Like every day
it's like, oh my god, the tea.
Speaker 6 (08:53):
That I got today, or like I'm coming home every
day with like a new like led face mask or
you know, a new vitamin routine, or like a new
lip gloss.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Like it's been so much fun.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Mario Lopez catching up with actress Brenda Song. This is
a random fun fact. I just want to know. It's
if it's true or not. You're a black belt in taekwondo. Yeah, okay,
in a minute.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
I like I started when I was really young.
Speaker 6 (09:16):
It was like an after school activity that basically, you know,
I wanted to do ballet.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
My brother wanted to do taekwondo. My mom was like,
I only want to take you to two places.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
And now I having children, I really understand that, and
she's like the ballet. I was like sister taekwondo, and
then I my brother ended up quitting and I ended
up getting my black belt and fell in love that
used to compete and all of that, and like I
started working until sweet life really started, and they wouldn't
allow me to do it anymore because at first I
(09:45):
didn't have the time and secondly they didn't want to
meet a like you know, have a sprained ankle. But
because of that, I got to do fun stuff like
Wendy Woo and like you know, do fun silly stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
That's great, all right, Brenna, hangtag one more thing I
want to ask quick break. I want to come back
and wrap it up.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Interview now on with Mario Doug more Mario Lopez on
the way.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Wrap it up with actress Brenda's song. You're on with
Mario Lopez. Before you go, How old are the kids now?
Speaker 7 (10:09):
Three and four?
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Oh wow? Right in the house. It's crazy. Is how
many do you have?
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Mario?
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Three? Three girl and two boys? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (10:18):
And they're older though, right.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah, fifteen, twelve and six?
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Oh my god?
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Oh so you are? Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
When I say I'm in it, you're in it a
different kind of way. May force be with you?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Thank you and you as well. It's fun though, right.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
It's honestly the best. It's made me look at life
with such a.
Speaker 6 (10:37):
Like with different eyes because another place that we ran
into each other because we're all in Zutopia together.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
I know, Malcaulay showed me pictures when we were there,
the kids, so he was quick to whip it out.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
And the funny thing is, it's like it's like projects
like that that I don't think would have necessarily done
if it was it for our kids, because he was
the first movie and this project came and it came
like really last minute, and we were like, oh my god,
yes of course. And it's like when we went to
the premiere, it was actually my kids first time at
an event, that was their first premiere ever. And when
(11:08):
we were because they had us all on like the
crazy stage, like all like one hundred like the entire voice,
like one hundred voice actors on stage, and because our
boys don't really understand what we do, they were like
in the audience crying, like the kids crying it those
were our kids going and they have no idea, they
have no context of like what we do, so they
(11:29):
were so confused why mom and Papa were on stage.
And so now when we go to Topia, they want
us to tell them the story about how we were
on stage. I'm like, whatever they gets you to go.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
To sleep exactly, exactly exactly, that's awesome. So you're you're
fired on all cylinders. Good for you, That's awesome. Listen everyone,
Please be sure to check out Brenda's a new movie,
Operation Taco Gary's, which is in theaters is Friday, and
be on the lookout for season two of Running Point.

All Mario Courtney Lopez wasted no time and getting right
to a random question. All right, honey with you?
Speaker 1 (12:42):
All right?
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Would you rather have to fight one horse sized mosquito
every morning for the rest of your life or be
forced to kiss every single person you make eye contact
with for more than two seconds, no exceptions, forever wisely.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Please please use the mosquito. That second, if you kiss
everything question, you make eye contact with you, you won't
have time for anything else.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
That will become your new job. Yeah, that occupies sorry,
want to look at him? I looked away, now looked.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
It would be Yeah, that that that that that would
occupy too much time. It would be that's virtually impossible
to having conversations move through life. I'm gonna I'm gonna
get the mosquito. I'm gonna tell you why, because initially
it'll be tough. But once I figure out how to
kill this horse size mosquito, I just go. You learn
a little more every day. Yeah, So I just go
with that tactic and then boom, He'll be dying quick
(13:34):
once I get him.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
You know what, I killed a horse size uh fly
yesterday in our bathroom with the same towel you used
this morning to wash your face.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
More Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Corney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Her music rolls on after some quick bus. Steve Perry,
denying rumors that he's rejoining Journey for their final Frontier
tour this summer.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Boom.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
In a recent interview, Jonathan Kane claimed that Steve hadn't
ruled out touring at the band. However, Perry took to
social media saying, well, I'm always grateful for the love
people still have for Journey. The rumors about me rejoining
the band are simply not true.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Wah.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
This makes me sad because I sent you on Instagram
a story about this.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
I know, and the headline was misleading because it seemed
like he was going to join, but he was clearing
up saying emphatic no, now here's the thing. He looks great,
but my guy, I believe is close to eighty. Those
are some tough notes to hit. He probably doesn't want
to go out there unless he's going to sound like
the Steve Perry of old, and that's gonna be yeah,
you know what I mean. So that might he might
(14:36):
want to leave people with the image happy memories. You
might want to live people with the memories of how
he sounded in his golden eggs.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Yeah, since he's not doing this, go on Netflix. There's
a Journey concert film from nineteen eighty one and it's amazing.
Oh yeah, the fashion unreal.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
And it'll welcome you with open arms.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Marrow Courtney Lopez let birthday is coming up. Shortly. In
the meantime, more music and what obscure holiday we celebrated?
Y honey, what do we got tironic?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Because it's hot outside, but it's National Chili Day.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Well it's hot out here in LA. It's definitely not
hot on the East Coast, where they'll probably appreciate chili.
I love me some good old chili, especially chili dog
sucking on chili dogs out. Someone's got a question, John.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
If we get John mellencamp on again, we need to
ask him specifically about that one.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
He means just hoofing it down. Time for today's birthday
shout out, It's what i'morro on. Courtney Lopez has always
Phraser's got the list. We're gonna gets the ages. You
know what.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
I'll give you an extra point if you can tell
me the theme. There's a theme with these they're all musicians, yes,
but there's no points in this game, so it doesn't matter.
Nate Ruse from Fun Well we are young except for
him because he is turning forty one.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Wow, that's rude.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
He's thirty eight forty four. Ah See almost said it
too early. Erica badoo.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
If I were but do something today I would say sixty.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
No, that's mean Erica is.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
She's been around.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
She is forty eight fifty five. See, she looks amazing.
Right in the middle.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
Michael Bolton, who unfortunately I think he's having some health issues,
but a legend.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Prayers up to Michael. We've had him on the show
a bunch. I think he is seventy.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Four, seventy six, seventy three, ooh, seventy three. And someone
we mentioned a bit ago from Journey, Jonathan Kine.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
He can be older than.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Seventy five, seventy seven, seventy six. Every time more fun.

chilling in the corner, doom scrolling. How do I apply
to be your makeup person?
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Kim Stowe Brick, You ain't lying that fool is the luckiest, luckiest,
most blessed individual in the entertainment business. Keep in mind
that dude just got back from a free trip to
Italy with you. That's right. There's major and then there's
major perps that he gets. And all my cousins and
friends always hit me on the side and say that
(18:07):
dude's stealing money over there. He doesn't get paid to work.
He gets paid to wait, he's working for free. He's
just hanging out having a good time.
Speaker 7 (18:13):
Man.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
So girl more on Courtney Lopez and we were just
talking about the nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame and Gene Simmons from the Hall of Fame
rock band Kiss was recently interviewed caused a bit of controversy,
saying that rappers should not be included into the Rock
(19:45):
and Roll Hall of Fame, not just rappers, also country
artists and anyone who is not quote rock and roll.
Now I kind of see his point because it is
quote the rock and Roll Hall of Fame, to which
I say, I think it should be change to the
Music Hall of Fame, because if you're gonna specifically have
the rock and Roll Hall of Fame, then he's got
a point because it's specifically rock music. If you start
(20:09):
including country music in hip hop and eight m, then
it no longer is within the realm of rock. And Roll.
I think they should change it to Music Hall of Fame,
or you have separate categories. You have your hip hop
Hall of Fame, your country music hallgame right, your rock
and roll Hall of Fame. So he's not necessarily wrong,
but people were kind of jumping on him, and I
(20:31):
thought I was pretty interesting to take.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Well, the question is what do you end up doing then,
because for so long now you've been inducting people who
are not in rock. So now you have all these
people that are in there who are not rock artists.
Do you just separate them out into their own little
hall of fame? I think if they're grandfathered in and
it does that, and then moving forward, if you're just
you know, a boy band member and you get you know, inducted,
(20:55):
doesn't mean as much.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
If it's the pop Hall of Fame, well, I think
the easiest fix is change the name music Hall Music.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Or or like the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Each name
has an icon of like your race, categories, your category
very good, you know, and then they just have the
symbol of what they represent.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
You to throw the categories innerth so you just divide
it up.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
But the name itself I think would be an earpix
just to switch it to music.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Right more, Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
All right, that's it, but thanks get a Brenda Song
for joining us on Mario dot com to hear my
full chat with her.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
We'll be back again tomorrow. Actress and singer Jennifer Lewis
will be here. Until then, it's Mario and Cordo Lopez
saying good night
Speaker 1 (21:39):
With Mario Lopez
