Speaker 2 (02:41):
Today's case comes from Katie. She says, every holiday season,
my husband's family makes these special holiday cookies that are
to die for. It's a special family recipe that's kept
secret within the women of the family for a couple
of generations. Now I've wanted the recipe for years, but
my mother in law and sister in law will not
share it with me. Ooh, I'd like to make these
cookies for my sons coming birthday party. I asked again,
(03:01):
but they kind of brush it off and say, oh,
we'll get it to you, but they never do. Am
I crazy or is this ridiculous?
Speaker 7 (03:07):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
It is because she's part of the family.
Speaker 7 (03:09):
She's part of the family, and being a daughter in law,
I would that would upset me.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Of course, my mom and sister love you, but they.
Speaker 7 (03:18):
Love me right, so I would. I wouldn't be in
that position to begin with, and they know that I
really don't like to bake or do anything like that anyway,
so wouldn't matter.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
But watched my Chagarin. Yeah, but they're not a cookie
dough at your house.
Speaker 7 (03:32):
It's a recipe you're not giving, Like, come on, you
don't want this recipe to continue in.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
The family, You know what, I think. I don't think
they like you, Katie. I don't think they like you.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
Or these are like store bought cookies that they're pretending
or something. There's some shady thing going on.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Katie get a boyfriend, Mario Lopez coming up.

We get ready to fire up zoom so we can
chat with Emmy nominated actress Constant Zimmer, who crushed it
in Love Story. Excited to talk about that and more.
When Constance joins.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Us, next.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Stop you a Mario Lopez joining me right now. Emmy
nominated actress Constance Zimer. How are you, Constance?
Speaker 5 (04:47):
I am great, Thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Thank you so much for taking the time. Okay, you
crushed it playing Carolyn Beisset Kennedy's mother in Love Story.
So good?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Really, enjoyed.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
The show was appointment viewing for my wife and I
and you really did such a great job. And I
love the whole, uh, just the concept and the way
they tackled How was it stepping into that world by
the way of the Kennedy's.
Speaker 8 (05:13):
I mean pretty exciting, I think, because you know, the
nineties are so nostalgic, I mean for people of this generation,
generation X, you know, our generation, Yeah, exactly, And so
I think for me it was, you know, gave me
a reason to be able to go and you know,
(05:34):
do research into not only a couple, but a family
to families you know that I didn't know much about.
I was, you know, just like most of us, just
watching their story unfold, you know, from the streets basically.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
So it was very exciting.
Speaker 8 (05:52):
And because we didn't know much about Carolyn's family, it
was even for me obviously playing her mother made me
just feel like a whole another layer of you know,
information and relationships that we never really knew about that
I got to kind of help unpack.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Right, No, it was, it was true. I got my
heart just broke because both daughters and just oh, the
speech at the wedding risks job. It just it was great.
Hank tied for me, real quick constance, lots more to
talk about. We're going to take a quick break.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
More fun on the way on with Mario.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Lopez getting back to actress Constant Zimmer, who's hanging out
on Zoom this hour. Mario Lopez here, getting back to
your work in Love Story. You've called this role a
gift for many reasons, and I obviously it really resonated
with you. But like you mentioned, it did a great
job capturing the period of the nineties and for me,
I think what made it so appealing to so many
(06:52):
people out there too is obviously before social media and everything,
but the romance. When you like someone, you had ap
the nerve to actually go out and ask them out.
That doesn't exist anymore. Now you can swipe, you can
tactually slide into DMS, the whole deal. But back then
you had to speak to someone if you like them.
You had to either go in person or maybe a call.
(07:15):
But there was communication, and I think that's appealing to
young people these days because that doesn't exist. That was
a big thing, and I think that made it even
that much more romantic.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
You agree, well, yes, you had to be more present.
Speaker 8 (07:29):
You know, we have far too many distractions and far
too many ways to not to be present and to
not be in person in somebody's personal space. Back then,
we had no there was no other option. So you know,
things were thought out, things were actually you know, set
into motion based on a few things that had to
(07:50):
line up.
Speaker 5 (07:52):
Now nothing has to line up.
Speaker 8 (07:53):
You can do anything from anywhere, at any time of
the day.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Yeah, I think it's ruined a lot of a lot
of guys games. They don't have game anymore.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
They don't have game.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
They don't have it, and they're just in there and
they're in a little bubble and it's and it's sort
of sad, all right. Haink tite a few more songs
and lots more to talk about with Constant Zimmer Almar
Lopez getting the scoop on love story from actress Constance
Zimmer this hour.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
There are a lot of rumors of a season two,
and I love the possibilities. I'd love to see uh
uh Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckinghamfleet with mac little romance or
love story there. I've heard Elizabeth Taylor obviously go in
so many different directions. Which story would you like to
be told.
Speaker 8 (08:35):
I mean personally, uh, the Elizabeth Taylor Richard Burton situation,
because they were married what like three or four times
to each other. I want to know what that is,
like what happens in between that Then you're like, ah,
let's try it again. Well no, not not this time.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
Well let's try it again. Let's try it again. Let's
try it again, you know. So that to me is
I would love to see that. It is how that
all came about.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
It is fascinating if you think about it. You get
married and then you go through the whole trouble of
getting divorced, which isn't easy and is expensive, and then
you take your time and you're like, you know what,
let's try my marriage again.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
All right?
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Constance hanging tay because I want to ask about another
big show. You're a part of The Lincoln Lawyer. First though,
more music, Yo, all Mario Lopez, I mean nominated actress
Constant Zimmer hanging out with us. Been talking about your
role in love Story, but I also want to talk
about You're in the latest season of the Netflix show
The Lincoln Lawyer. You play a da What can you
share about your storyline?
Speaker 8 (09:32):
Just that I'm the villain of the season basically. You know,
I think that this season of Lincoln Lawyer has been,
you know, in particular for the fans, very personal for
Mickey Holler, you know, the lead of the show, for
Menuel because I'm basically attacking him. So that just makes
(09:53):
me the villain, even though all I'm doing is my job,
right right.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
No, it's global hit, very popular show. Coincidentally, my son
is on this season Lincoln or he's on Uh yeah,
I guess he's like doing five episodes and stuff. I
went on set a couple of times.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
Oh, like the season that they're shooting right now, the season.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
They're shooting right now.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Oh, that's amazing.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah, so he's doing he's doing really good job. Proud
of him right there. So big Lincoln Lawyer fans over here.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
That's awesome.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
All right, one more thing, I'm wanna ask quick break
and we're gonna come back and wrap it up.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario Doug
More Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Wrapping up with Constant Zimmer. Mario Lopez here in last thing.
You also have a podcast called Talk fifty to Me.
It's a fun title. I gotta imagine just things that
come up when you're in your fifties.
Speaker 8 (10:41):
Yeah, I mean it's basically giving a platform for women
in specifically about what happens when you get to this
decade and all the things that nobody told us about,
uh huh, but really shining a light on the empowerment
that comes with aging.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
That also people don't like to talk about.
Speaker 8 (10:59):
Everyone wants to talk about the decline and the demise
and all the bad things, but people are not out
there sharing the power that comes with aging and understanding
who you are and being forced to face that person.
And so yeah, me and my co host Heidi Clements,
(11:20):
who's a pro aging social media advocate, basically we were like,
where's the place for women to come to and say, wait,
it gets better with age.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Nobody told me that part.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Absolutely I love that and I have the same mindset too.
Being in my fifties it's a blessing to It's.
Speaker 8 (11:40):
An absolute blessing. It's a privilege. It's all of those
things that we just take for granted.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Absolutely, and the fifties now it's not our parents' fifties.
We're looking better, We're taking care of ourselves. We have
a lot more knowledge and if you do take care
of yourself, you can have you can just be hitting
the halfway point right now, yeah, and get ready for
the back nine. So yeah, I'm with you on that.
I appreciate you taking the time. Congrats again, I look
forward to Lincoln Lawyer and all the other stuff you're
(12:06):
in Constance. Thanks for checking in.
Speaker 5 (12:08):

The rapper well Chet Hanks action too. Yes, Chet Hanks
was a rapper and it was like country, right, So
he was a rapper.

twenty twenty four album.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
Wait, nope, it's the other way around, is it?

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Yeah, that's the other way round.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
So hold I was again.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
The pedal to the Metal is ped that's D and

lip bomb flavors are coconut and pared. That one's amazing,
