Speaker 1 (00:00):
Come on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here we go halfway through the week, Mario, Courtney Lopez
back in studio, fired up to get to hang with
you for the next few hours. A bunch of radio
fund to get into. You're gonna take up a new
case and serve up some justice. A little later in
Quarto's court, Well, I was going to dig into the
buzz to see what's trending, and just a few songs
away from honoring a good deed with a coveted Lopezi Award.
You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez. Done put the

(00:24):
spotlight on someone trying to do some good in the world.
John with Mario Lopez. All right, Fraser, who's getting a
good deed Lopezi this week?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
The incredible Dolly Pardon.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
For decades she has quietly helped children, sending them books,
funding research, and stepping in when families need help most.
Now she finally has her name on a hospital. The
East Tennessee Children's Hospitals officially been renamed Dolly Parton Children's Hospital, Nice,
honoring her decades of general support. But her impact on
young live stretches far beyond the hospital or that one hospital.

(00:52):
Through her Imagination Library. They sent three million free books
every month to children whose family sign up. She even
donated a million dollars to covid vac's research back during
the pandemic. She says she's not doing it for herself.
It's all about the doctors, nurses and dedicated team members.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I've always loved Dolly Parton, but every story I've heard
for I don't know how many years now, it's her
doing something good, generous, helping people.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
She really just kind of like an angel.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
She's such an incredible special person. Awesome love to hear it.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Mario Lopez will be right back, al.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Mario Lopez keeping the music coming your way, as Fraser
quickly breaks down a few of the new things hitting
TV and streaming.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
What do We Got Blue Therapy Season one of that
on Netflix. It follows seven real life couples who commit
to intensive therapy as a final attempt to save their relationships.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Ooh, I wonder how intense the therapy is.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Okay, I guess three of the seven make it. That's
my prediction.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
America's Culinary Cup a new invitation only lineup of sixteen elites,
highly acclaimed chefs from across the United states compete in
intense challenges designed to test their mastery across ten core
culinary commandments. This is on CBS and that's premiering tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Is there like culinary commandments? Like the Ten Commandments?

Speaker 4 (02:04):
I'm guessing they made them up for this unless they're
I mean maybe if you go to culinary school, they
teach them. I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yet another cooking show, okay.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
And one more cooking show, Flavortown Food Fight on Food Network.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Guy Fieri favor Town.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Yes self proclaimed, but yes, he welcomes three talented chefs
each episode to compete in a multi round showdown across
various authentic restaurants setups from street food carts to neighborhood
joints to fast food spots and high end dining.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Okay, I'm down with that. A few more songs gonna
stop in the Cordo's chords so we can serve up
some press justice. What up Mario and Courtney Lopez here?
By the way, if you ever find yourself in a
weird situation or a random dispute, or you just need
some good old fashioned advice, slide a node door DMS
over on IG and let judge Quordo, help you out,

(02:51):
o at all, Mario Lopez for that back with today's
case in ten but first war music, y' all Mario
Courtney Lopez, and it's not him to get to a
fresh case in Cordo's court. All rise for the honorable
Judge Courtney court albitis.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
All right.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
So today's case comes from Cheryl and she says, my
boyfriend and I have been together for a couple of years.
We spent the night at each other's places pretty often.
There's something super weird that he does though. He sleeps
with ear muffs on. Huh. I thought it was for
noise cancelation or something, But he's recently revealed to me
that he is a fear of spiders getting into his
ears at night. Now, when I look over at him asleep,

(03:28):
I just think he's so weird.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Thoughts. Well, now I'm worried about that.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
That's gotta be some sort of phobia. I definitely, that's
definitely a phobia somewhere. You gotta get hot with the
ear mufs. That's gotta get really.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
First of all, you have more holes in your face
that spiders can go into. They can go into your mouth,
they can go into your nose. So what are you
going to do? Just suffocate yourself.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
That's a fear for the years. This is weird.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
He needs to be hypnotized and he needs to talk
to someone.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, you break up with him, but you certainly do
something about it.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Technically, it's a rach and aphobia, fear of spiders. Yeah,
and it's also irrational, according to AI.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Okay, good, good, you should read that more.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (04:08):

Speaker 2 (04:42):

it's going to be good with it. Yeah yeah, I
mean it's the vanilla ice cream of cake. I'm down
with that. On Mario Courtney Lopez. Time for some celebrity birthdays.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Fraser as a list.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
And we're gonna try to guess the ages.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Andrea Bowen from Desperate Housewives.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Oh that's the daughter.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
She was the daughter of Terry Hatcher. Terry Hatch, we
had her on because they do a podcast together.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Now.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah, oh, the daughter of Terry Hatcher on the show.
I believe she is twenty seven.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Oh no, she's thirty.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Five, thirty six, thirty six. Chas Bono Sonny and Cher's son.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Chaz is.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Turning fifty four afty eight fifty seven. Ooh.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Jason Neustad from Metallica, they're about to do a thing,
is sphear sixty six.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
I love Metallica because it's like I love Metallics, but
it's like, what like a hard metallic.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Like just get this wrong so we can move on.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Sixty sixty three. Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond sixty five.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
She is heating it up to sixty.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Eight sixty seven, and finally from My Ammy Sell Machine
Mary to Gloria Estevon, Emilio Estefan.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Oh, Emilio, Emilio's gotta be seventy eight, eighty seventy three. Okay,
he's younger than I thought. Okay, more Mario Lopez on
the Way, Yo, Mario Lopez. Music rolls on after a
quick reminder that we're all going to lose an hour
sleep this Saturday night. However, however, the positive is we
get an extra hour of daylight. I know it's tough

(06:25):
on the kids, especially the younger ones, because they don't
always understand the time change, while preediatricians say best way
parents can help kids adjust is by sticking to a
bedtime routine, also shutting down screens an hour before bedtime
because that blue light mimic sunlight to our brains. You
can also make your gradual adjustment get into bed fifteen
minutes earlier each day this week, which is of course

(06:45):
easier said than done. Yeah, it's pretty tough first couple
of days, but oh that means summers around the corner,
all right. Back to music. At On with Mario on
Facebook and next at On with Mario Lopez on Instagram.
Love hearing from you, so please hit us up questions, comments,
whatever you got a few more songs. Are going to
dig into our mentions to see what's on your mind.
That's coming up next, John, Mario, Courtney Lopez. Time to

(07:09):
dig into our mentions to see what's on your mind.
You can always hit us up on Instagram at on
with Mario Lopez or on x at on with Mario.
What'd you find?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Anny h?

Speaker 5 (07:18):
This is from at just some SG whatever that means?

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Okay, they said.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
I was listening the other day when Mario was giving
Courtney a hard time about the spelling of the color gray.
Just a heads up. Both spellings are fine for the color. Traditionally,
people in the UK spell it g r eu y
and in America it's spelled.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
G r a y.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
There's a bunch of weird words like that, like the
word color, which people in the UK they throw in
a U. You know, so I got your back, Courtney. Thanks,
I appreciate that because also too. On the way here
to work today there was a song title and the
word gray was in there, but it and it made
me think, oh that's not what that that doesn't have

(08:04):
to do with what they told me. It wasn't a
person's name.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Well just some as a color. Whatever you said. You
know what, I'm always open to learn, and I was
not aware that they're both accepted, so thank you for
sharing that.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Also, the show doesn't air in the UK, so.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
That's probably what it is.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Or Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
You're a Mario Lopez keeping the music and fun coming
at you as we quickly say congrats again to all

(09:10):
Here music rolls on. In a segment, quickly wanted to
mention something I just ran across. A new study asking
kids what time they'd like their school day to start.
Never not a surprise, but ninety five percent chows later
start time, giving them an extra forty five minutes of sleep.
I would also apply to work, I think for most healths.
Study also compared performance and turns out that students with
a late start did better on standardized tests math and English.

(09:32):
That's basically what you're there for, right.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
No, that's no, that's that's pretty much why you go.
That's why you go.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
By the way, over half the teachers like the later
start time too. You know. The thing is if you
have a later start time, it means you'll get obviously
done later. And that affects practices.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yeah, school, it affects a lot of stuff. Yeah, I
mean practice would go until like seven at night exactly.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
That's the thing, and therein lies the problem. Courtney Lopez
and Courtney had a random experience.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
What happened, honey today?

Speaker 5 (10:04):
And when I was taking the kids to school, I
had on sweatpants and a sweatshirt and I just slipped
on Gia's pink crocs. Now, my outfit was not intended.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
To be seen, which means it will be, which means
it will be.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
But I realized I needed gas and I never let
my gas tank go that low, so I stopped and
got gas and I get out. I'm pumping gas and
this lady pulls up next to me, and older lady,
you know, older than I, and she goes, oh, I
thought you were wearing your daughter's pink crocs and I

(10:43):
said I am, and she went, oh my, like she
was disgusted. Well, that's the one at school at the
gas station at the end of our street. And that
was it.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
And I'm like, how old would you estimate?

Speaker 5 (11:00):
Older than I would say a good fifteen older than me,
not like old.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Enough to say oh my, old enough.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
To say oh my, judged me for wearing curious But
first of all, there are size almost seven, so they
fit me. It's not like I put on a toddler
shoe to the pump.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Gasp.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
But I didn't know how to respond, and I just
thought to myself, Wow, I could have said so many
things back to her, but I just pumped my gas
and went on my way.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
She was really so disappointed in my More fun on
the way On with Mario Lopez.

at a recent French award show.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, he looks refreshed. They say it's him.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
They say it's him.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Other people say it's not they You know.

Speaker 4 (11:57):

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Here you know, daylight saving times not the only thing
going down this weekend. If you're a parent, may want
to brace yourself. Saturday is tooth very Day. Apparently inflation
is officially hit under the pillow. According to Delta Dental's
original Tooth Fairy poll, the going rate is now five
dollars and eighty four cents per tooth. Where'd they get
the eighty four cents?

Speaker 3 (14:28):
I used to get a quarter and that was like
a big deal.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Wow, Well the first tooth, you go a little more
for the very first tooth. After that you start dropping
unless it's a big one in the back. That's seventeen
percent jump from last year. By the way, that's one
expensive little baby in sizeer. And it's not just cash anymore.
About a third of kids or waking up to actual
gifts instead of money. What that's hard to put under
the pillow?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
How does that work? It's a box of legos?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah, imagine, I guess a gift card would work. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
Well my kids, No, my little guy has still got
to lose all his teeth. He hasn't lost I don't think. No,
he has lost one.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
He has lost one. What did he get from the
tooth fairy? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I think the tooth fairy put in ten bucks on
the first one, okay, and then the other one was
like five bucks. Yeah, that's about right now, all mari
A Lopez. You know, a lot of us are making
our morning coffee at home these days, rather than hitting
up the coffee shop with tear us high prices. Coffee
has gotten more expansive. Obviously, one option is just to
make instant coffee, not your grandparents instant coffee like Bolgers

(15:27):
or Sanco. Remember that Sanka, new freeze drive and micro
ground techniques have improved quality dramatically. In the simplicity of
just add water fits perfectly into your busy routine. There's
also options like instant mushroom coffee that claims to have
all sorts of health benefits. I think I've tried that.
I drag beat coffee. It was actually pretty real coffee. Yeah,

(15:47):
but you gotta do a taste tests first. Make sure
it rolls with you, because mushrooms and beats aren't exactly
for everybody.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Got more Mario Lopez coming up you.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
O, mari A Lopez, quick look at the buzz because
Ed Sharon and Chris hems Or have gone viral arm
wrestling on IG. In the shared clip, they engaged in
a friendly competition, with Ed went in the first round,
Chris winning the second. Huh. I don't know how fair
that was. It's quite the unexpected magup. Ed currently on
his Loop tour, while Chris is gearing up for the
release of his movie Avengers Doomsday, scheduled for December eighteenth.

(16:20):
I don't know how well it bodes for Thor to be.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Losing to ed Cheron seriously almright dot com.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Check it out. Mario Lopez here getting close to the
end of our radio fund. Just one last thing to
get to, plus probably enough time to play a request
or two before I get out of here. At On
Mario on X. You're on Mario Courtney Lopez, and it's
time for one last thing. A new milkshake, which some
are calling disturbing and horrifying, is being launched at the

(16:45):
Great Wolf Lodge. Oh we've been there with the kids,
which is America's largest chain of indoor water parks. The
Ranch Milkshake. Oh my gosh. It's a blend of vanilla
ice cream and ranch dressing with carrotts, celery, and crispy chicken. See,
you're doing too much right here. This is so extra.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
And yeah we don't need the celery, No, the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I'm not down with this. I got my stomach courts
just describing it.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
This just all sounds disgusting, Yes, but good.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Luck with that Great Wolfledge.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
