Speaker 2 (00:04):

Speaker 3 (00:04):

line and hanging with you for the next few hours.
A lot of radio fun to get into, including firing
up the time machine so we can take a quick
musical trip into the past with.

Our throwback soundtrack. Plus gonna share.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Some more helpful back to school hacks in quartos corner,
Gonna ask a random question, catch up on the latest buzz,
and more so, turn it up.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
You're on with Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
So you a girl baby? Nope, you're on Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
New trend called the girl baby, it's popping up online.
It's being described as the opposite of the old girl
boss mindset. Girl baby refers to women who jokingly lean
into being helpless, care free, or dependent as a way
of coping with the pressures of adulthood.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
A wait, I know men who do this girl babies too.

Speaker 5 (00:50):
Yes, they are.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I evidently think of trends like girl math, girl Dinner,
and the viral I'm Just a Girl videos that use
self deprecating humor. So it's all on fine is whether
a girl babies harmless humor coping mechanism or a sign
of something deeper more.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Keeping the music coming at you.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Mario Lopez here along with Fraser, He's got a quick
look at what's new on TV and streaming.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
Tires Season three premieres on Netflix. Shane Gillis's raunchy autoshop
comedy returns with Will and Chane noll co owning a
struggling location.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
I wasn't even aware of this sitcom.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
I remember when the first season of it came out.
I didn't really give it a chance. I was like,
I'll get to it eventually. I had no idea there
was a second season already out. Wow, but now there's
three seasons to watch. Nice My brilliant Career. It's a
new series on Netflix, an Australian period drama about a
headstrong young woman dreaming of becoming a writer in nineteen
hundreds Australia. Okay, And Engineering from Above to new docu

(01:43):
series on History. It takes a high altitude look at
massive construction projects and engineering marvels from above.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Oh wow, that's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
You're a Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Few more songs are going to make a quick stop
in a Quardo's Corner for a fresh life hacker. Two
back to see what helpful tip she's got for us
today in.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Ten So don't move.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Jol Marl Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Somehow, the new school year is already upon us.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
For many, it's already started.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
So we're heading back to Quardo's Corner for more useful
school hacks. And today we are talking about homework in
ways to help your kids get it done in a
timely manner.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
Okay, you know, I give you guys these hacks, and
sometimes I have to be honest, I don't always do
them myself, but this one I'm definitely going to do.
We're talking about homework and ways to help your kids
get it done in a timely manner because it is
so miserable when you're fighting with your kids when they
get home to do their homework, but they're not going
to want to do it later. So anyway, Number one,

(02:41):
put their phones in a different room during homework time.
It is the biggest distraction, especially for high school kids. Absolutely,
I tell my kids, you cannot touch your well, this
is what I'm going to tell them. You cannot touch
your electronics when you get home until you're done with
your homework.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Love it.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
Set up a home work area, a low distraction spot.
Aids have desks this year. I'm making them do their
homework at their desks.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Good and they're good.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
Set a timer and take a five minute break every
twenty five minutes. Look, I'm not a big fan of
having tons of homework, so I think if it exceeds
thirty minutes, I think that's a little excessive. But if
they do, some schools do take a five minute break
every twenty five minutes. Have the kids tackle their hardest
homework assignment first while their energy is still high, like

(03:27):
writing an essay. Things that take the most.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Get that out of it, you know, just get it
out of the way, not the night before.

Speaker 6 (03:32):
You can use voice to text for essay writing. It
will feel faster than typing. You're still doing the work.
And have the kids aim for completion over perfection on
first draft so you can go back and refine it later.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Just I wasn't even done yet.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
You're really excited about that.

Speaker 7 (03:50):

my kids, which is a little frustrating because I wanted
to be a South Paul really bad. You get a

Speaker 2 (07:46):
You're Mario Courtney Lopez. No secret.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
We love dogs around here, and apparently they love us too.
We saw the story and thought it was awesome. MRIs
reveals dogs love for their owners more than food or friends.
MRI scans have revealed a powerful truth hidden with the
canine brain. When a dog catches a with its owner,
something extraordinary happens. The caudate nucleus, the brain center for love,
lights up more intensely than when exposed to the scent

(08:10):
of food or even other dogs. It isn't just recognition.
It's emotional bonding. Your scent isn't just familiar, it's home.
Dog lovers have sworn that their pets really feel love,
and now science agrees they feel it deeply.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
That's why they're considered part of the family. That's right.
I know one of our dogs loves I don't know.
They love us a little bit more. The other one
likes to love us from afar. One likes to love
us from up closes.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
One of mine's like that too, It's like just more distant.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, wants to be there but not all up in.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
You, but he watches everywhere I go, Like he just
has to be in the room with me, and the
other one has to be like on top of me.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Right more.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Mario Lopez on the way, Oh Mario Lopez, and I
can't believe it's already time.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
But back to schools around the corner.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
If your kids aren't already back, and that means some
great discounts or students parents'd be aware of these.

then fifty percent off a regular Prime member show. That's cool,

they could be one of our five thousand dollars winners

I know that firsthand. Now it's our turn to give
back to them. On with Mario dot com Slash teachers
to find out more and nominated teacher.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
Now you're on.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Mario Lopez music rolls on right after some quick food buzz.
The rise of craft pizza has led to a new
trend of pairing high quality pizza with wine, creating a
category known as pizza wine. Now, I don't want to
say I'm a pioneer or anything, but I've been having
pizza and wine for decades now, and it's a really

(10:26):
good combo. Wine experts recommend a variety of wines to
pair with different types of pizza. You got your meat
lovers paired with the mallback pepperoni with cabernet, and a
little margarita with a rose or pino grigio.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
That's my move, Margarita with a pino greche.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Add time to doctor beat your brain.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Mario Lopez here, long producer for issue, was going to
try to make us think with a random question what you.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Got would you rather have more time or more energy?
More time?

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Time's the only thing you can't get, and it's the
most invaluable thing in the world.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Really, I've already got a lot of energy.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
But well, there's also there's all ways to artificially boost energy.
I can't artificially boost time.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
No. And here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Though, because I've actually thought about this before. If I
have more time, let's say I get twenty eight hours
in a day.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Am I gonna look that much older? Like later on?
If I end up having this, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
I mean possibly because the thing about you too is
You're not just gonna use that time to relax. You're
gonna fill it with stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
I'm gonna try to fill the stuff or get extra sleep.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (11:28):

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Next here A Mario Lopez getting ready to wrap up
all our radio fun, but not before we squeeze in
one last thing. If you like taking vacations far away
from home, you can't get further than this.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
New company is officially taking reservations for a luxury.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Hotel on the Moon.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Come on, they're accepting early bird deposits of one million dollars.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
Oh, you're not getting that money back.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
They plan to launch its first inflatable hotel for guests
by twenty thirty two, eventually upgrading to a more permanent
structure built out of moon bricks made from lunar soil.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
So they want to turn the Moon into a real
tourist destination. This feels like some sort of scheme.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
Yeah, you want me to pay a million dollars so
that I can, one day in the future stay in
a bouncy house on the Moon.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
Let's assume it is real. Let's assume it's legitimate. Okay,
I'm not paying a million dollars.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Hope, if I had it just to go, I guess
the only thing you could say is, hey, I've been
in the Moon.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
I mean I would like I would like to go.
These conditions are not ideal.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
No, and that's way too expensive.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
We'll be right back with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
All right, that's it. Thanks so much for hanging out.
