I assumed it was meant for another person.

It was like Kate cake cake cake said.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
More Mario Lopez coming up, you're.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
A Mario Lopez saw this and thought it was interesting.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Your nose maybe calling the shots when it comes to
your friends. A new study out of Cornell says scent,
not just look survive, is a big part of why
we instantly connect with people. That makes someone's natural scent
in their go to deodoran or Colonne. It could actually
predict chemistry better than appearances. So next time you meet
someone and you just click, it might be less about

(07:13):
what you see and more about what you smell.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
I agree with this.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
That's why I make hygien a top priority and make
sure I'm always smelling on point in the cologne is
good to go, I'm blown away.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
By these redd or blue, red or blue.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Depends neither or day.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I'm blown away by the surprising amount of celebrities who
vocalize not showering.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
That trips me out. Yeah, and there's a lot of them.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
It's puzzling.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
It is.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Hit me up on X let me know what you think.
At on Mario A Mario Courtney Lopez almost for a
weekly fake debate.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
So you gotta choose your side, T Mario or Team
Kordo because there's just a few songs away from battling
it out while we get ready for that, I'd love
to play a song for you, so if you gotta request,
please drop it in our mentions over on Facebook and X.
At On with Mario, y'are Mario Courtney Lopez time out
for a fake debate where the topics are made upon
the spot, but the passion is very real.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Who's pro and who's con?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Today?

Speaker 4 (08:08):
What do you want to be?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Corney?

Speaker 9 (08:10):
Con?

Speaker 6 (08:10):
I think I was pro last time?

Speaker 4 (08:11):
You will be con?

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Mario will be pro. You'll have fifteen seconds make your case,
ten second rebuttal Your topic today is singing along to
songs in public without actually knowing the lyrics, just like this.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
What could that mean?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yes, oh my gosh, singing along in public without knowing
the lyrics to the song, I am pro Here's the
thing about music, it's all subjective. It's artistic. If you
want to change the lyrics up and it inspires you
to create your own lyrics, that was the intention of
the artist. That means it's a hit. Congrats, Courney.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
Nothing is more embarrassing than parents of a teenager who
think they know the lyrics to a song but don't.
And the last thing I want to do it has
embarrassed my daughter and have her disown me.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
I don't believe the last thing you want to do
is embarrass your daughter, mister Lopez.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
The thing about lyrics is these songs. If it motivates
you to make the lyrics your own, yourself are now
an artist. You are creating the music, and that's what
it's all about inspiring people.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Thank you. You know the game.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Finish the lyrics. You need to finish the lyrics and
not make up your own. They will not give you
any props.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Well, we're not paying that game one week more fun
on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 6 (09:36):

ihearts thank a teacher, all powered by Donors Shoes. By

I'm doing great. It's so nice to see you. You

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Always, and congratulations on the new movie called A Love
Like This. I like how it's described a tangled web
of love, lust and lies.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
So pretty much, uh, pretty much love. What's going on
in this one? Pretty much love all the colors. That's right,
That's right. So what's the premise?

Speaker 9 (11:06):
So basically, we are we're it's a little valeuristic. It's
it's a it's a weekend. It takes place in a
house mostly, and it's really just two people and we
see this very deep passionate love. These people that have
been in love since high school and life has taken

(11:28):
them in other directions and we find them on this weekend.
Nice and it takes not to give too much away,
got it?

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Okay? It takes place in Malibu. Did you get to
actually shoot in Malibu?

Speaker 9 (11:43):
Yes, we shot in this beautiful house.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Overlooking the ocean. I mean, talk about very romantic, eating
the vibe like it was epic, very romantic, sets the
vibe for sure.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
We'll alone the wire at dot com to see a
trailer for a love like this and tight quick break.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
And we're gonna come back with some more Emanuel, More.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Al Mario Lopez getting back to Emmanuel Shrieky, who's hanging
out on Zoom talking about her new movie, A Love
Like This, which is out now, and you're also a
producer on this film.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
How'd you like one of those sights?

Speaker 9 (12:17):
I really love producing. It's it's you know, I've done
it a few times. I really want to continue. It's
just so nice to kind of be on something from
the ground up and.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Like see it Flower. It's really awesome. I really enjoy
it for you.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
All Right, Hank, tight gonna play a few more songs
and we're gonna come back with some more.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Actress Emanuel Shrieky hanging out.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
On Zoom with us is hour You're on with Mario
Lopez new movie is A Love Like This. But I
saw you were also in season four of The Lincoln
Lawyer over on Netflix. Were you familiar a fan of
the show prior?

Speaker 9 (12:56):
Yeah, I mean I hadn't watched it really justly. I
had seen sort of scenes here and there, but I
knew that The Lincoln Lawyer was kind of.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
A phenomenon, like it really is. Oh my god, it is. Why.

Speaker 9 (13:12):
I mean, I haven't had people be so excited that
I was going to go do episodes of something than
The Lincoln Lawyer like so many texts of like, h
it's my favorite show. But it was great, and I
mean gotta mentioned shooting in La the best, the best.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
You're right, You're absolutely right, you know.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Ironically, my son, one of my sons, Dominic, is also
in The Lincoln Lawyer at the moment.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
He's doing a little recurring characters.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
So I know when I told people, I didn't realize
it was such a it was like the number one show.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Yeah, globally and globally that's crazy. I know, that's crazy.
Are you are you?

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Did you already do your your your stint?

Speaker 9 (13:53):
It does it?

Speaker 2 (13:55):
We aired? It was It was really a great experience. Really,
I don't know if you might have scenes with you
and stuff because he's doing it right now. Oh yeah,
that's too bad.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Yeah all right, well hang tight, little music, then we
can come back with some more Manuel. You're all Maria
Lopez catch up with actress Manuel Shrieky this hour.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
And one of your.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
First roles, of course, was on the iconic Nick show
Are You Afraid of the Dark, which featured all kinds
of stars, yourself, Ryan Goslin, Nev Campbell, Melissa, Joan Hart,
my old buddy, what do you remember about that time.

Speaker 9 (14:29):
Oh, oh my god, I was like, are you afraid
of the Dark?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
I was seventeen. It was.

Speaker 9 (14:38):
Literally like one of my first lead roles, Like it
was my episode and it was a thrill. We were
shooting in Montreal. It was in the summer. It was
so hot and it was great. It's so funny how
that show keeps popping up. Yeah, I think because you know,

(14:59):
there's this like a vival of all things somewhat vintage,
and that keeps coming up.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah, well, something else that keeps coming up.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
I'm sure people approach you all the time still is Entourage,
and that seems to always find like a new audience
and our next generation. So I'm sure people have mentioned
that to you all the time as well.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Huh.

Speaker 9 (15:17):
Yeah, it's kind of wild, Like it's wild that you
know now, like a whatever, nineteen eighteen, nineteen twenty year
old we'll watch it and they're obsessed, like they identify
with one of the characters the way that you know
they did back.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
When it was it's the best, it's the best, and
it correct me if I'm wrong.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
But it came out prior to.

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Social media, right, yeah, prior, so that's all that's I
think what's captivating too to see that just that that
little time capsule and where you can really go out
with your boys and enjoy yourself and you have to
talk and you have to go up to a girl
if you like.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Her and you want to talk to her. Why I
just swipeing and all that. That's like impeeling.

Speaker 9 (16:00):
After And it's so interesting because if you watch the
episodes now, I mean like phones on the show were
literally to communicate. There was no social media what you're saying,
which translated to set too, Like we weren't instagramming. We
weren't like we were able to be more present in
a way.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Yeah, exactly, not the good old days. Yes, okay, man,
you'll hate time for me. One more thing I want
to ask we when to take a quick break and
come back and wrap it up.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario dot
Com more Mario Lopez on the Way.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Wrapping up with actress Emanuel Shrieky or on Mario Lopez.
And last thing I want to point out too, because
you're big with philanthropy and things like hope for a Congo,
colon cancer, anti semitism, Is there any projects you're involved
in right now, you want to mention right now.

Speaker 9 (16:49):
You know, it's still sort of all the same things.
I would say, probably, you know, being very vocal about
anti Semitism is taken front and center these days, as
you could imagine. But you know, I feel like that's
just an ongoing, ongoing, lifelong thing. And yeah, just doing

(17:10):
what I can.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Well, good for you, Good for you.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Nice catching up with you, and listen, everyone, please be
sure to check out Emmanuel in her new film I
Love Like This.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Thanks so much for checking in. Thank you, it's great
to see you. Nice to see you too, person Take care. Yeah,
you're all Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Inching closer and closer to graduation season, yes, which can
sometimes make you nostalgic for your own high school days. Ah,
because a new survey is bringing down some of the
stuff we did back in the day. Apparently sixty seven
percent of us lie.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
To our parents, half of us got grounded, and a
third of us snuck out of the house at night. Well,
I rarely lad.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
I got to be honest because I was afraid of
the consequences. But a couple times when I got a
little sprung in my sophomore year with an older woman.
There was some line and I did get caught. That
did not end well. Obviously, I got grounded a lot.
Never try to sneak out in the middle of the night,
my sister did. If I had fun one day, I
couldn't have fun the next day.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Yeah, that was it. That's kind of your version of
being grounded.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
I couldn't have had fun one day. My dad did
not allow us to have fun the next day. That
you had fun yesterday, you got to work today.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
That's it all right, Back to the music, al Mario
Lopez no secret that ideas get stolen in Hollywood all
the time. But apparently some of our favorite shows might
be blatant ripoffs of other shows, and we just didn't know.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Frazer, what are somebodies?

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Yeah, so I found this list.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
Creek they say basically is a knockoff of Arrested Development,
because it's a wealthy family who lost all their money
and they're trying to fight their way back to the top.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
I've heard of theory that there's only really seven original ideas,
and everything is a derivative from one of those seven
original ideas.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
I haven't dug into that theory, but I don't doubt
that theory. It seems about right. The Jetson's basically a
futuristic ripoff of the Flintstones.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
That's exactly what it is, but but not really rip off,
because one went backwards, one went forward, right, and that's
not if you were to do a new show called
the the Crudes, Yeah, you do a show called The
Cruise the Flintstone, which is the Flintstones, and put it
as a series, then yes, that's.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
A direct ripoff.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Jabber Jaw was a ripoff of Scooby Doo and it
was a shark and his friends solving mysteries.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
The Shark it is okay, they went underwater with it.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Friends was a ripoff of Living Single.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yes, that that has been discussed tirelessly.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
I Dream of Genie. What do you think that was
a ripoff off Bewitched?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yes, Bewitched because they read yes, I was thinking, oh, took.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Me a minute, step by step essentially. The Brady Bunch
correct Another theory. By the way, to go back to
the Flintstones and the Jetsons, there's a theory they existed
at the same time, and that the Flintstones were in
the the reboot of Earth after it had been destroyed
and the Jetsons were living in the sky above, which
is how they met in that one crossover movie.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
That that's too deep for me.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
And finally, Family Guy. People are saying that is a
blatant rip off of The Simpsons.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Well look, other than animation, I think there are some
pretty story differences.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Family dynamic. There's a dog, the other sister baby right.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Like I said, there's only seven original ideas.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

sat on with Mario Lopez on IG Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Here.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
We love hearing from you, so hit us up, questions, comments,
whatever you got?

Speaker 2 (21:06):
What'd you find first today?

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Hanny?

Speaker 6 (21:07):
This is from Martin Flem no film at Martin Film.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
I like Flen better.

Speaker 6 (21:14):
I have Flem right now. If you told me Netflix
was making a seven part series where each episode tells
a story of one of the women from Mambo Number five,
I wouldn't just believe you.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
I'd set a reminder of that. That's where I am
in life. A little bit of Monica in my life.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Monica gets a whole episode.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Monica gets a whole episode, and that's very clever. Martin
Film or Flem, whatever your name is.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
All right, that's it. Thanks so much for hanging out
with us. Also thanks to.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Emmanuel Scheriki for zooming in Almara dot com for more
of my chat with her, and to relive any in
all of our radio fun.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
We're back to do it again on Monday. Philip Phillips
set to join us, plus.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
A lot more fun till then. Mario and Cordo Lopez
saying good night.

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Fear thrives in silence and confusion. Ana Navarro rejects both. Her voice is an antidote to today’s chaos. Her new podcast, Bleep! with Ana Navarro, takes on today’s most pressing issues with the voices most connected to it: decision-makers, political leaders, cultural shapers, and people on the frontlines of the story. The conversations acknowledge the emotions we all feel—despair, sadness, fear— but emerge with knowledge, perspective, and hope. The belief is simple: fearless dialogue can transform fear into courage, and courage into change. When fear dominates the headlines, this show digs deeper. Because information, debate, and conversation don’t just ease fear, they give us power to shape the future.
