Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Mario Courtney Lopez here, back behind the mic, fired up
to be hanging with you for the next few hours.
A lot of radio fun planned, including Corto and I
battling it out in another Pop Culture Pop Quiz a
little later.

Speaker 4 (00:13):
Looking forward to that.

Speaker 5 (00:14):
Plus, we'll dig into the buzz to see what is trending.
Stop into Kordo's Corner for something fresh. And we're just
a few songs away from some huge movie news. All
that and more. All your favorite music. So turn it
up and let's go. You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
All Mario and Courtney Lopez taking a quick look at
the buzz because National Treasure 3 is in the works.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Director John Turtletaub. That's a cool name. Turtletaub.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
He revealed Friday that a third installment of the Nick
Cage franchise is.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
In the works.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Word is that Disney has approved the script. John broke
the news while appearing live on the National Treasure Hunt podcast.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
There's a whole podcast?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
He said it's happening. You're the first people I have
said this out loud to.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Oh, wow. I disagree. Turtle Tob is a terrible name.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Really?

Speaker 5 (01:00):
If I were to meet someone and marry them, which
of course I'm not because I'm happily married, and their
name was Turtle Tob, I would turn around Tob.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
That's what you got from that.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Okay. More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
I'm Mario Courtney Lopez. Going to keep the music coming
your way. But first, Cordo is going to break down
a few of the new things hitting TV and streaming today.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Jeopardy Masters Season 4 on ABC and streaming later on Hulu.
The high stakes tournament returns with two quarterfinal episodes. Top
Jeopardy champions compete in multi-night event that runs through early September.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
You know what I think I could compete in?

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Rock and roll Jeopardy. You actually could.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
I think I could be okay in that.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
You actually could. Martha Cook, season one. It's on Netflix.
Martha Stewart opens her kitchen for a new reality cooking series.
Expect recipes, technique, and her trademark mix of elegance and
no-nonsense instruction. And I hope she does some selfies, too.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
She does mad thirst traps.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Love it. And untold, the testimony of Vince Young. It's
also on Netflix. The sports documentary series follows the former
Texas Longhorns, and national quarterback as he recounts his rise
as a college phenom and the turbulent years that followed
in the pros.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yeah, I was at the game, lucky to say, when
Texas played USC at the Rose Bowl.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
It's considered one of the greatest college games ever. Happened
to be there.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
What year? Do you remember?

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Oh, gosh. Must have been early 2000s.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
When did they?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Oh, gosh, I can't.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
I'm racking my memory.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
And he looked like a man among boys out there.
And That performance, everyone was like, oh, he's going to
have the most illustrious career. But then it just didn't happen.
You just never know.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Stuff happens. Yo, I'm Mario Courtney Lopez. Got some August
25th birthdays to shout out shortly. Hang tight for those.
In the meantime, any obscure holidays to celebrate, honey?

Speaker 5 (02:52):
It is National Banana Split Day.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
My parents will love this day because that is an
old school dessert.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
My parents or my dad.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, my dad too. My mom likes them too. Go
to Dairy Queen and they get a banana split. I
don't think I've ever had one.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I don't have a desire. I like bananas in my cereal.
I'm not down in my ice cream.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
In ice cream, no.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
It's a weird move.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
It's just weird.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Time to celebrate some August birthdays today. August 25th, of course,
with Omar and Courtney Lopez. As always, Fraser's going to
tell us who's turning a year older.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
We're going to try to guess the age.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Who do we got? Pariah, Blake Lively.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Ooh.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Ooh.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
She seems to kind of keep going as if nothing happened.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
She pretended like nothing happened, but the world didn't, and
she's trying to turn it around. But yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
I think Blake is 38.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Balake is 40. 40. Balake is 39. Right in the middle.
And just to clarify, I think both sides are pariah.
So there you go. Rachel Bilson from the OC.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Rachel is 38.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
39. 45.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Oh, wow. Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
From Kenan and Kel. I believe he's a youth pastor
now as well as acting and stuff again. Kel Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
He's also 45.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
You know, with him, you can't Kel.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I knew that was coming and I couldn't stop myself.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
He's 48.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
He is 48. I'm a Kel Mitchell fan. Claudia Schiffer, supermodel.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Claudia got to be 56. Claudia is 60.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
55.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Oh, wow. Miley's dad. Billy Ray Cyrus. Billy Ray? Billy
is 62.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
62.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Looking good, Billy Ray. Feeling good, Lewis. Trading places quote there.
I think Billy is 63.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
65.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
And finally, from Kiss, Gene Simmons.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I think Gene is 72, but his tongue is 79.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
I think this is a really tall guy, right? They're
all kind of tall.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
They're all tall, but they did wear platform boots as well.
But he was tall.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
He's the one with the long tongue.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
He put it under his chin.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
I saw him at Burbank Airport, and I knew it
was him walking in, but I didn't ask to see
his tongue.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Well, I appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Gene is 79.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
77.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
77.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
You're all with Mario Courtney Lopez just a few songs
away from Kordo sharing something fun in Kordo's Corner. What
are we.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Talking about today, honey?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Ooh, homemade... pumpkin spice it's that time y'all.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Almost that time well maybe it is that time all
right back with that in cordo's corner next.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
On with mario and courtney lopez making a quick stop
in a cordo's corner for some homemade pumpkin spice help
all right what you got.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
For us so you just said it homemade pumpkin spice
which is just cinnamon plus a few pantry spices so
it's pretty easy um the mix it takes no less
than No more than five minutes. It's a relatable everyday blend.
People love it. It's ground cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, ground allspice, cloves,
whisk until uniform, which means all one. Optional upgrades, a

(06:37):
pinch of black pepper, a little mace, not the mace
that you spray in your eyes, or a pinch of cardamom.
Don't card her before she goes into the club. Yeah, well,
we want to be carded, so do card a mom.
And store in an airtight jar away from heat and light.
And it's good for 6 to 12 months, everybody. That's
good in case there's an earthquake or you get stranded
in a room in your house.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
You can freeze pumpkin bread, right?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
You can freeze anything.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yeah, you can freeze anything.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
I guess you can freeze anything.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
And it still tastes okay?

Speaker 5 (07:03):
All right. Well, it just doesn't go bad.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Mario and Courtney Lopez here. Music rolls on after some
quick space buzz. Special lunar event happening this week, and
NASA is turning it into a science experiment.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
The next full moon will.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Have a partial lunar eclipse that'll make the moon look red,
but it's just an illusion. It's called the Sturgeon moon.
It's not going to reach peak illumination until August 27th.
NASA will be monitoring the moon's surface to test where.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
And when our next moon landing may be. We're still
going to the.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Moon, huh?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Well, they're trying to go back, but I think we
missed the first deadline already.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
No special equipment apparently needed to watch the moon orbit.
All you got to do, look up.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I'll be there on August 27th.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I don't trust the moon.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Okay. When it's at its peak.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
I'm Mario Courtney Lopez. Back to school creeping up on us.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
It's a great reminder that teachers make a difference each
and every day. Now's your chance to say thank you
with iHeartRadio's Thank a Teacher, powered by DonorsChoose.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
This is your chance to nominate an outstanding public school
teacher who goes above and beyond the students. And then
they could be one of our $ 5, 000 winners for our
classroom supplies and resources. Teachers give so much. I know
that firsthand. Now it's our turn to give back to them.
On with Mario.com slash teachers to find out more and
nominate a teacher now.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
I'm Mario Courtney Lopez. Some quick health buzz for you.
Nothing more important than your health, of course, should be
your top priority. So it's always good to know if
your health is on track. Pay attention to your body
signals from how you feel to what you can do.
Here's what to watch for according to medical professionals to
know you're functioning well.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Can you get up from the floor without using your hands?
You should be able to.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
That's tough.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
That's tough even for a healthy person. I mean, I
could do it, but everybody uses their hands to make
it easy.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
It is getting harder to do, but I can do it.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Can you hold a deep flat footed squat? Like deep.
I'm talking deep.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Yeah, the knees are going to be hurting, but yes.
So far, so good, but yes.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
You get hungry at regular times. I mean, what are
regular times?

Speaker 4 (09:12):
As opposed to irregular times, what is that?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
By regular times, you mean all the time? Because yes,
that's me.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yes, yes.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
You know. And you can climb a few flight of
stairs without getting out of breath.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yes, if you climb a few flight of stairs and
you're getting out of breath, you need to start hitting
those steps a little more.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Mario Courtney Lopez here, keeping the music coming your way
as we squeeze in some quick fashion buzz. Forget dressing up.
The latest fashion trend? Dressing like you're heading back to bed.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Done. Growing number of celebs and influencers are embracing the, quote, sleepy.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Girl aesthetic or the Adam Sandler look. He's basically been
doing this for years now.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
For guys, it's the Adam Sandler.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Pajamas, nightgowns, slip dresses, loungewear. Those are everyday outfits now.
Hailey Bieber, Dakota Johnson stars are proving the sleep working
double as street wear. Still got to pair it with
the right accessories, though. Isn't that just called being sloppy?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Well, it depends.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
It sounds like to me they're sleeping in lingerie because...
I don't think.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
You can cruise around in lingerie.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Well, no, because a lace is a big thing right now.
Lace shorts. Remember, I wore them to a dinner one
night and you said, aren't those for sleep?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
For later.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
You're ahead of this trend.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
I am.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
You're sleepy girl aesthetic.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
I am sleepy girl aesthetic.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Great.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Let's get back to music.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
You're on Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Music rolls on after a quick peek at the Buzz FX,
bringing back the Sons of Anarchy cast for a new show. Oh,
shout out to our homie, Emilio Rivera.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
He's on that cast. Good dude.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Network has ordered Legends, a limited series that brings back
much of the outlaw biker drama's original crew, including Charlie Hunnam,
Ron Perlman, Katie Segal, Maggie Siff, and Tommy Flanagan.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Well, hopefully Emilio's there.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
I know. We're just going to throw it out there
just for good luck. It follows the cast as they
reunite at a fan convention more than a decade after
the show ended. When a real world threat takes place,
Hunnam developed the show with Jonathan Groff.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Wait, is it like a show about the show or afterwards?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I don't, I don't know. That's all I know.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
At a fan convention?

Speaker 1 (11:24):
What?

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Okay. This is a different take.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
Well, fun fact. I actually call Sonny, our boy, son
buns of anarchy.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
There you go. Keeping the music and fun coming your way.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
What up, Mario?

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Courtney Lopez here. Congrats to Christopher Nolan.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Odyssey has set an all-time R-rated record after being in
theaters for over a month. It's become the highest grossing
R-rated movie of all time.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
I feel like these.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Records are being broke every year because the prices of
tickets go up every year.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Well, that does change it and make it weird because
it should just be number of tickets sold.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Correct.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Or number of people who have attended, whatever.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
That's the true barometer. Because if you do go by that,
I believe E.T. and Jaws are still number one.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
You go back to the early 80s when you basically
had to go to the theater to see them and
they were in there for like months.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
What do you mean basically?

Speaker 4 (12:08):
You had to.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Well, you could wait until it came out on VHS
nine months later.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
So we've got the Odyssey.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Deadpool and Wolverine, and The Joker were the R-rated movies
to ever gross over a billion.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
On Mario, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Music rolls on after a quick digital pit stop at
onmario.com so Kordo can tell us what's trending up.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
Drake spotted at Ella Langley's show singing along to Choose
and Texas as he was really into it.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Drake's an Ella fellow. Okay, there you go.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
Gracie Abrams reveals which of her own songs she initially
really didn't like.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Huh.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
And watch Jessie J play bouncer and kick some rowdy
fans out of her show after a fight broke out.
Do not do that.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Who's picking a fight at a Jessie J show?

Speaker 5 (12:53):
On with Mario.com for all that and more.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
At On with Mario Lopez on IG. At On with
Mario on Facebook and X. Mario and Courtney Lopez here.
Love hearing from you.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Questions, comments, jokes, random thoughts, whatever you got. Been digging
through our mentions. Back to see what's on your mind.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
You're on Mario Courtney Lopez, taking a quick look at
what's on your mind. Love hearing from you. Questions, comments,
random thoughts, whatever you got. At On With Mario on
Facebook and X. At On With Mario Lopez on IG.
What'd you find for us, honey?

Speaker 5 (13:21):
This is from at Chad Vandal 81. And he said, bro,
I'm so proud of you for finally admitting you love Nickelback.
Let me know when you're ready. I've got some similar
bands that you'll love.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Chad Vandal 81. I pointed out that.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I didn't realize Nickelback had a couple bangers. And the
reason I came to find that out, my daughter, who's
recently gotten into drums lately, has been playing a couple
of Nickelback songs on her drums, along with a lot
of Metallica, by the way. Yes.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
And I saw her doing Easy Lover.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah, which is really impressive.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
She likes a lot of the old school rock songs.
But yeah, what's that? Animal, I think she was playing.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
It is Animal, yes. Yeah, and that.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
That's your.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Favorite Nickelback song.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
That's a good jam.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
What's your Mel Rushmore of Nickelback songs?

Speaker 4 (14:11):
That's George Washington through Ray Ramlingan. That's all I know.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
On with Mario and Courtney Lopez letting you know that
you might want to set a reminder for iHeartRadio one-on-one
with Sara Bareilles.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
She is back with a new album, Good Grief, out Friday.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
And she's sitting down with us for an in-depth interview
to talk about her song, Just a Kid, the inspiration
behind the album and her upcoming documentary here this Friday
on with Mario.com to find out more.

Speaker 3 (14:39):

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Y'all, I'm Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Almost the end of our radio fumble. Before we go,
we got to get to one last thing. Have you
heard of a food divorce? Instead of arguing what's for dinner,
more couples are choosing to eat separately. Even when they
live together, the idea is called a food divorce. It
has nothing to do with breaking up. It's for couples
with different tastes, diets, schedules, or cravings who are tired

(15:29):
of the nightly debate over what to eat. So each
person makes their own meal and eats on their own time.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Don't worry.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
They're not giving up on quality time. Date nights, weekend brunches,
special meals together are still on the menu. You can
only have a food divorce, I feel, if you have
no kids. What are you going to do with the kids?
I take the boys, you take the girl. I mean,
they think it's really complicated.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Food divorce prior to kids, I guess. But come on.
If you're a real man, you've got to eat anything.
Whatever your wife's one, you've got to eat anything.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
We've never had an argument over food.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Well, no, because I eat anything.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
You know me.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
And I don't eat, so we're good.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah, we're good.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
All right, that's it. Thanks so much for joining us
as always. Make sure you hit up allmario.com to relive
any and all of our radio fun.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
We're back for more craziness tomorrow. Until then, it's Mario
and Courtney Lopez saying goodnight.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
On with Mario Lopez.
