Season four of That Over on Netflix, which continues following
these Spanish friends navigating a midlife crisis, highlighting their shared
department as a refuge for dealing with divorces, fatherhood struggles,
and more.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
That sounds rough. There's four seasons of this Wow, well
a lot of crisis. I guess.

Speaker 6 (00:49):
Paparazzi King Season one of That Over on Netflix as well,
a five episode Italian docu series about a controversial media
figure exploring his scandalous career capturing celebrities. The rise of
social media in Italy's blur third lines between reality and
reality TV from the nineties to today. That sounds kind
of cool and you're going to Italy soon, so all right,
run in due look out for this guy, my guy.

(01:10):
All right, and Oregon and Indiana vie for a spot
in the College Football National Championship in the Peach Bowl

to Fox March twenty sixth. Voting for this year's I
Heart Radio Music Awards officially open, meaning you get to
help choose this year's winners for Best Lyrics, Favorite K
Pop Collab, Favorite Music Video, and more on mario dot
com Slash Awards to check out all the nominees and

(01:40):
both for your favorites. Hi Golden Globes coming up on
Sunday or On with Mario Lopez. And as I mentioned before,
I'm gonna be on the red carpet talking to all
your favorites. So if you got any questions you want
me to ask them, please drop them into our mentions
on Facebook or x at On with Mario and since
the globes are this weekend, why don't we break down
a CA category or two and make our predictions.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
What do we got?

Speaker 6 (02:03):
Well, we'll do some movie stuff later, but since the
globes are TV and movies. Best Television Series Drama, The Diplomat,
Plory Busts, Severance, Slow Horses, The Pits, and The White Lotus.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Wow, really really good group right here, White Lotus. I
guess I always look at it as a mini series
because it's completely different casts, and they don't. But but
it's an ongoing series, so I guess it does fall
into the category. I'm a little partial to White Lotus
just because of that. They mix it up so much.
It's completely storylines, it's a new location.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
It's kind of cool. The Pit has.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Gotten a lot of love, and so was Pluribis for
being brand new and coming out of the gate hot.
Vince Gilligan, who did Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul,
is behind that. I haven't seen that, but I want
to catch up.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
Severance unbelievable, Slow Horses unbelievable. Yeah, this is The Diplomat's
actually really good too. Kerry Russell, Well, I guess you
can't go.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Wrong with any of these, but I'm going to lean
towards White Lotus only because they had so much buzz
this year.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
We'll do one more Best Television Series Musical or Comedy,
Abbot Elementary, The Bear, Hacks. Nobody wants this, only murders
in the building or the studio.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Well, I've said this every year for the past few years.
It's been nominated, but the Bear is not a comedy.
It's the first from a comedy, so that's annoying.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
It's not a musical either, by the way, Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
It's definitely not musical.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I gotta go with Hacks. It was excellent this past season.
The acting was great and they do a great job
of it being funny but at the same time pretty
good dramatic moments.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
And I thought it was the best season this past season.
So I'm going Abbot.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Okay, okay, Old school Network Network Television.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
All right, More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
A Mario Lopez mentioned Bruno Mars earlier in our Mario
Music Minute. I forgot to mention Bruno it's going to
be hitting the road for his first major world tour
in nearly a decade this spring.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Wow, this sixteen time Grammy winner.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
That's incredible set to kick off the Romantic Tour on
April tenth in Vegas, where he has a residency. He's
gonna be playing twenty nine stadium shows across North America,
including stops in Detroit, San Antonio, Nashville, Tampa, before wrapping
up October fourteenth in Vancouver. He also announced his first
album since twenty sixteen will drop next month.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Fans have until Monday.

Speaker 2 (04:24):

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Oh It's gonna be really cool. Almight dot com to
find out more. You're on Mario Lopez. Few more songs
are gonna talk. Must see movies.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Also got some slubt birthdays to shout out a little
later this hour. In the meantime, if you got a request,
please slide into my DMS over on ig at On
with Mario Lopez. Time for us see movies here on
Mario Courtney Lopez Cordo breaking down what's new in theaters
this weekend.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Probably might no.

Speaker 8 (04:52):
I said that with an Australian accent. Johnny Sequoia Troy Kotzer.
Lucy's Tropical Island homecoming turns deadly. One of her family's
clever chimpanzee, Ben becomes rabid. I hate when that happens.
With her father away and no help coming, Paradise becomes
a prison as Lucy and her friends fight for survival
against a pet they once trusted.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
You know, this could be based on a true story because.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
People have had pets as chimpanzees that have turned on them,
faces off, killed them.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
So yeah, fair.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Warning, do not and not try to domesticate a chimpanzee.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
No, and is this thing on? Hello Hello? No, that's
what the movie is called. Is this thing on?

Speaker 8 (05:33):
Will arenat Laura during Bradley Cooper Andra day facing middle age, which,
by the way, is now thirty five, And I read that.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
No, that's a lie because people are living longer. Yeah,
I thought, now we should be jumping on. Don't we
peek at like sixty or something?

Speaker 6 (05:48):
No, there was like emotional intelligence Berts, I don't know
who we're all middle aged, the.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Long the age of longevy as far as how long
we're living now, since we're thing longer, that should have
bumped up middle ages.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
They used to say forty was over the hill, but
I don't feel like that's the case anymore.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
The case anymore.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
It is anyway back to me. Facing middle age at
thirty five and impending divorce, Alex finds new purpose in
the New York comedy scene, while his wife Tests confronts
the sacrifices she made for their family and Greenland too migration.
Gerard Butler at Marina backer in in the aftermath of
a comet strike that disseminated that decimated.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
What did I say, eminated?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
No, she didn't say that. She said I don't even
want to.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Go back decimated, That decimated most of the planet. The
Garrity family must leave the safety of their Greenland bunker
to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I am not a fan.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I'm sorry, and I like Gerard and Marina but of
End of the World type.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Movies, wor Mario Lopez coming.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Up, Al Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Right in the middle of Awards Season, get ready for
this weekend's Golden Globes. More predictions coming up next hour.
But it's not just Awards season. Blue Season's also in
full swing.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Boo.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
There's been dudes with a lot of heavy coughs and
hoarse voices.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Hanging around me. I'm like, yo, hang out on the
other side. Of the room. Stay home, Yes, they've been overwhelming.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Doctors' offices and et ours and experts are saying there
are some things you can do to keep from getting
the virus.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
First of all, wash your hands and.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
Wash them a lot. Shouldn't have to tell you that,
but right.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
But be frequent about it, especially when you get home
from work or shopping or just any public places. Stay
away from sick people obviously, you know, try to practice
a little social distancing and have to do the six
feet thing. But that's a throwback doing that, Malb and
your girl. Disinfect surfaces that a lot of people touch.
That's easy to do when you're at home. Can't be
doing that in public, I don't think. By the way,
if you do get the flu, stay home.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Al Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
So let birthdays coming up first, we got to recognize
today's obscure holiday.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
What are we celebrating, honey?

Speaker 7 (07:59):
It is National Apricot Day.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
That is obscure. It's an obscure fruit.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
And can I tell you it's rare when you get
a really good apricot. If you buy some apricots, you
bite into it. It's always like that. It's not it's
not Flash with It's it's, it's it's not really good.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
That's really the last time I had one.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Actually, I don't ever buy them because I'm telling you
they're overrated. Apricot is like I want to be Peach,
but nevertheless happy nationally Forricott. Dat screw you, Apricott.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
Wow, poor Apricot.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Time for some January ninth birthday shout out. It's Mariow
Courtney Lopez here, Fraser's.

Speaker 3 (08:32):

they called that off.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
He how do he fumble that?

Speaker 4 (08:46):

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I believe is thirty seven?

Speaker 5 (08:50):
That's correct. Oh, look at that thirty seven. Aj McLean
from Batshi Boys.

Speaker 8 (08:55):
Umm, he's fifty a little too clean for fifty.

Speaker 3 (09:01):

fifty nine and JK. Simmons.

Speaker 7 (09:30):
She wrote Harry Polta.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
Nope, he was in Whiplash.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Oh you're thinking JK. Rowling.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
That's very good though.

Speaker 7 (09:35):
Is JK Simmons is Russell Simmons brother?

Speaker 1 (09:39):
J K.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Simmons should now partner with JK.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Rowling.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
He should so they could be JK JK or with
Russell Simmons JK.

Speaker 7 (09:49):
Simmons.

Speaker 8 (09:49):
That sounds like a lawyer firm.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
Sixty seventy six, seventy one. Wow, he looks great.

two or three songs, So you got to pick your side,
Team Mario or team Cordo.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Back to find out who's pro and who's cone.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
And what we're debating next.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
You're a Mario.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Courtney Lopez sound for our weekly fake debate where the
tops are made him on.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
The spot, but the passion is real, all right, Fraser,
Who's pro? Who's got?

Speaker 4 (11:00):
You?

Speaker 5 (11:00):
Will be pro?

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Courtney will be con your topic today which you will have
fifteen seconds to make your case, ten second rebuttal afterwards.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Is getting a celebrity's name wrong?

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I'm pro getting a celebrity name is wrong.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Well, the thing about getting a celebrities name wrong shows
that you're not consumed with them. They aren't your world.
You could care less, and they're probably going to find
it flattering and funny.

Speaker 8 (11:24):
Getting a celebrity's name wrong is hold on now. Getting
a celebrities name wrong when you're in the business is complete.

Speaker 7 (11:33):
And utter hypocrisy.

Speaker 8 (11:37):
We need to if we're going to talk about you,
we need to know how to pronounce your name, and
you need to know you know why we do what
we do.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Mister Wilipez.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Well, first of all, I don't think you use hypocrisy
right in a sentence. It's more about disrespect the things
that you were going for. But I think it shows
a sense of humor and shows that you don't take
yourself too seriously. Like for example, when I saw Timothy Chalomey,
I said Timothy chalamet, and he appreciated the chalamet, And

(12:06):
I also called him Timothays.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
Called to Timothy's shallots shoe because he looks like that
old shoe.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
I question some of the things that you do in
the business, and I don't know if that's true you
do that and how you keep working?

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Well, Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
You're Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
You know, buy a ticket to the Super Bowl is
going to cost you thousands of.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Dollars, But what if you could pay in blood?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Right now through January twenty fifth, the Red Cross is
offering just that. When you give blood, you've entered to
win a pair of tickets to Super Bowl sixty in
San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Very cool, that's cool.

Speaker 8 (12:37):
The winner will get round trip plane tickets for them
and one guest, three nights at a hotel one thousand
dollars gift card for expenses and access to all of
the pregame activities at Levi Stadium on February eighth. It's
great book, a time to give it Redcross Blood dot
org and you may go to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Well, if you're a Marvel fan, got Hitpolmari dot com
to check out the latest new Avengers Doomsday teaser.

Speaker 3 (13:03):

x Men, Joan Patrick Stewart's Professor, x Ian McKellen's Magneto,
and James Marsden's Cyclops. The first teaser release confirmed the
return of Chris Evans Captain America, while the second focused
on Chris Hemsworth's four.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
A lot of Chris is in the Marvel universe, so.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
An amazing lineup for Avengers Doomsday, which is hitting theaters
in December. Speaking of movies, few songs are going to
make another Golden Globes predictions.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
At'll move.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Here a Mario Lopez going to quickly make another Golden
Globes prediction ahead of the Sunday's Awards. Looking forward to
being on the red carpet, make sure you hit me
up on ig at On with Mario Lopez and click
follow so you can follow along with all the fun
this weekend. And in the meantime, Fraser's gonna break down
the nominees for Cinematic and box.

Speaker 6 (13:47):
Office Achievement Avatar, Fire and ice F one, K Pop,
Demon Hunter's Mission Impossible, The Final Reckoning, Sinners, Weapons, Wicked
for Good and Zootopia two, which.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
You're in, Yes, i am in that.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
I'm proud to say. So here's the thing, box office achievement.
That's a very easy criteria.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Whoever made the most what was the biggest one should win?

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Right?

Speaker 3 (14:11):
What was the biggest movie the.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Ear Zutopia just breaks some crazy record they did.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
So one would think it should just be honored and
there shouldn't even be other contender. They should just name
it well, because everybody knows. Yes, if you're really going
on box office achievement.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
Unless they've created some algorithm that blah blah blah, but
you know they're going to overcomplicate it, well, then don't
call it ache because if're's achievement, that's just.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
Which it should be, fan vote or something, right exactly.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yeah, But if you're gonna go about what's the most successful.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
You have to judge that by box office, especially if
you're saying box office achievement exactly, and Zootopia too should
run away with it. If it doesn't, then I think
we've got problems.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
We know that James Cameron bought the award.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
More Mario Lopez coming up, y'all.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Mario Lopez quickly saying congrats to all our five thousand
dollars winners and iheartradios. Think a teacher powered by donors choose.
By the way, there's still time for you to nominate
a public school teacher making a difference, giving them a
shot to be one of our next winners, hooking them
up with five thousand dollars to make over their classroom,
which is really cool. So help us continue to say
thank you to the educators shaping our future. Nominey your

(15:16):
favorite teacher right now at almadmara dot com slash teachers.
Mario Lopez. Here was some quick buzz for you. Congrats
to Stranger Things, the series finale. Of the series is
being credited for helping Netflix reach a new viewership record
on New Year's Day. And if you heard those rumors
about a bonus episode waiting to air, apparently it's just
that a rumor.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
My daughter is gonna be very disappointed. We just swear
by it.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Netflix says all the episodes are now playing and start.
Noah Schnap has also made it plain that no bonus
episodes exists and the Duffer Brothers really left nothing more
to be told. My daughter is explained to me in
the kitchen last night, some conspiracy theory about why the
Duffer brothers, about why.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
The season wasn't as strong.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
In her eyes, one of the differ brothers had a
divorce and the wife was really lighting and needed the wife.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Where does she get this?

Speaker 4 (16:06):

Speaker 5 (16:19):
Excess Milan it is.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
We're going to be a Milan Courtina.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
It's obviously going to be cold, but hey, couldn't think
of a cooler location. Speaking of the Olympics, I saw
this and I thought it was interesting. British Olympic diver
Tom Daily maybe'm ahead of his time. Here's a trend
we didn't see coming. More and more young people were
picking up hobbies like sewing, knitting, and crocheting, including a
lot of guys. So I interviewed Tom Daily on my
show Access coincidentally, and he was knitting while we were

(16:45):
doing the interview. He apparently does it all the time,
all the time. He was trying to show me it's
quite complicated and have a whole new level of respect
for my mom and my grandmother would My grandmother used
to do it all the time. Grandmother used to knit these.
I still have them, these blankets. They are just incredible.
And my mom two super super fast, and there's different techniques.
It's a low stress hobby, good for your mental health,

(17:06):
male or female. If you want to get started, you
don't need a fans some machine. Just jump on TikTok
or YouTube for endless tutorials.

He came to his vocal skills.

Speaker 2 (17:31):

adding that even as.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Choir teacher didn't believe in him.

that there's now going to be an entire generation of
people who we're going to have to explain MTV two,
Can I get off this ride?

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Please?

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Four liles, you're right.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
MTV recently shut down after forty years all their music channels.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Yeah, unbelievable. That's right. They had a few music channels.
But when it launched, man, it was a special.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Time because music videos premiered on MTV and for some reason,
AHA's take on Me sticks to my mind as he
used to play the heck out of that. And then
of course we took it to the Stratus Heroes when
Michael Jackson did Thriller, which is really more of a
short film.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Yeah, and an incredible one that holds up.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
And that's where you had you MTV rat as trl
A a lot of great musical and all the greatest
artists at the time would come and do the show.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
This might be hard to believe, but there was a
time where every piece of music wasn't at your fingertips
and you would literally have to wait to see these
videos to hear these songs.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Yeah, and I remember there was our entire childhood and even.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
If the song wasn't maybe great, if you heard in
the radio, you would saw the video and then you
kind of fell in love with it, yes or vice versa,
but yeah, rip MTV.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Or Mario Lopez coming up.
