Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here we go with Omrio Courtney Lopez back behind the mic.
Fired up that we get to hang with you for
the next few hours. Great guests joining us later as well,
Reality star Goldenessa Gigi Garsha daka Shahi from the new
Bravo series The Valley Persian Style. Looking forward to chatting
with her and seeing if I pronounce the name right.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
What a name.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
It sounds like they just took the alphabet and threw
it against a wall and whatever mashed it together, whatever
letter stuck.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Plus a Fresh Life Hacker two in Cordo's corner. Then
I dig into the buzz to see what's trending, and
just a few songs away from a quick musical trip
into the past with our throwback soundtrack. So turn it up.
You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez. I'm Mario Courtney Lopez.
Now I'm not sure if you saw this or not,
but nominees for this year is iHeart Podcast Awards are
officially out.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
The twenty twenty six iHeart Podcast Awards will take place
March sixteenth in Austin, Texas, and the winner of the
top award would be determined by your votes at On
with Mario dot Com Slash Podcast Awards.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
You Ah, Mario Lopez, few more songs to make a
stop in a quartos corner for a New Year's Life act?
Can you tease us what we're gonna learn about today?
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I sure can. It's about the do it now mindset.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yes, don't put it off, do it now. I like
it already. Do it back with quartos corner.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Inten, don't move, don't do today, but you can put
off until tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
You're a Maril Courtney Lopez stopping in the quartos corner
for another New Year's Life act. What you got quarto?
Speaker 3 (01:26):
So adopt the do it now mindset. You can't go
wrong with that.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yep, that's me every day.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Every day I actually say to you, please stop doing
it now. Instead of adding tasks to an overwhelming to
do list, act on them immediately whenever possible. So this
approach helps prevent procrastination and builds momentum. So when a
task idea, a resolution related action comes to mind, commit
to doing it immediately, no matter how small. Basically, you know,
(01:53):
here's a few ways of doing it. I'm gonna do
the laundry, just put away as soon as you're done.
Health and fitness. When you think I should go for
a go immediately, even if it's just for fifteen minutes.
Don't wait for the perfect time or a structured schedule,
because something will always come up. Right. Cleanliness organization. When
you notice a dish in the sink, wash it immediately
instead of leaving it for later. They always I like
(02:16):
to say, put it away, don't put it down. Yeah,
everything has a place. Learning. When you think of a
new skill to research, spend five minutes on it right
then and there. I've done this. It doesn't last very long.
I usually maybe spend two minutes on it, but you know,
I try.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I'm really good about all of these, especially the learning skill,
because that's why I've always remember. I keep a dictionary,
but now I just have Google on the phone.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Oh no, if you get fascinated with some of you
immediately I stop what you're doing and you immediately look
into it.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I'm good. There's one thing I'm very bad at, though,
one thing very bad at that I do procrastinate that
I'm going to adopt a do it now washing the
bottom of mind set.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
No, well, that's another thing.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I'll come back and tell you what it is that
moor Mario Lopez coming up, so by more on Courtney
Lopez and we just were in Quarto's corner.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Nobody puts Quarto in the corner.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
That's true, nobody does. Nobody does. But you were talking
about adopting to do it now mindset, which I love.
You should do everything now and not procrastinate because something
will always come up. I'm pretty good about this except
for one area. And I guess it is my, uh,
one of my New Year's resolutions. I usually don't have resolutions,
but this one I really have to get better at.
(03:27):
You know what it is?
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Can I guess?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Go ahead?
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Putting stuff away in the room.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I've gotten a little bit better than that. And when
I put my mind to it, didn't I do it
all this past weekend?
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah, but it took three years.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
No, it did not take three years. The closet again. Yeah,
Well that's because it's always the falls into her putting
stuff away. What I need to be better at doing
it now is when someone sends a text or an email,
I need to reply right away. Yeah, because I am
bad at that. I am bad at that.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
And I'll tell you what he's bad at that he'll
but he what he does is he tells people, remind
me to do this later instead of just doing it.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yes, well, because I want to give it some thought. Yea,
And I want to be and I think I'm being
considered because I want to give you some thought because
I want to think about it a little bit more.
I think that backfires because it ends up piling up.
I don't get to it, and then that particular point
has passed. Yes, oftentimes, So I'm not going to be
it sounds weird, so considerate. I'm just going to answer
(04:17):
right then and down.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I don't think it's you not being considerate. You just
you know, I don't think.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
That's No, it's not. I was trying to be considerate,
that's what you know. What I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
People will also, well, I actually consider it to be considerate.
Curt you to reply quickly. No, you're exactly right.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
And I read something that changed my thinking that said
all successful people I know reply to text immediately, and
I was like, wow, that cut deep because I do
not reply immediately. So now I am going to reply immediately.
And all my successful friends that I send text to
reply me back reply immediately, and I noticed that, and
I go, damn, I'm going to start doing that. I
(04:51):
got a random question to ask in just a bit.
Mario Lopez here along with my wife, Quarnian producer Frasier,
And while we get ready for that, Quardo has got
a random thought for us.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
What is it? Honey?
Speaker 3 (05:01):
You know I have been to the pharmacy nine trillion
times because we have fifty kids. You have nine thousand things.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
You were going.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
But does anybody else eavesdrop when other people are giving
their birth date?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Sea, how they are? To sea?
Speaker 3 (05:18):
How old they are? Because somebody was in front of
me and she was like October sixteen, and anytime it's October,
I perk up because that's my birth month. Then she's
like nineteen ninety one, and I'm like, this woman is
ten years younger than me. And I was judging, and
I felt bad, But it's like I do that all
the time.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Now, that's a natural that's a natural reaction. Sure, sure,
And she was so sick in there, so.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
She's probably not in her best condition, so she's had
her worst point.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Judging her looks terrible for your age.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
But I just I just didn't know if other people
do that because I listened to everybody and I'm like,
oh my god, somebody was he was born the wife
he was picking up four she was born in twenty five.
I'm like, she's one hundred years old.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Crazy.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
All right, let's get back to music, all right. Tromorrow
Courtney Lopez squeezing in a random question, which my wife
for Frasier, usually has for us, but today I got
one for you. Here's the scenario. My nephew and son
hit me with this. Here's the deal. You've got Hussain Bolt,
the world's fastest man world record for one hundred meter,
and you've got Joey Chestnut, hot dog eating champion. Right.
(06:25):
They're both at the starting line of a hundred meter race.
They have to eat a hot dog and swallow it
before they can take off. Who wins the race if
you throw up here? Disqualified? Yes?
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Okay, Well I would have to say Joey Chestnut because
I feel like he would just swallow it in one
and then take off. I don't think Bolts would. It's
amazing his name is Bolt, and Chestnut. Squirrels put stuff
(07:00):
I too deep. I think I say Chestnut because I
think he'll eat it faster and then run, which will
buy him time.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Wow, very good, honey. I went around at a bunch
of circles to get to that conclusion. But you're exactly right.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
You ran in circles as before.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
After you ate the cot I.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Don't know he had rule more Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
So this is perfect throwback Thursday. You're on Mario and
Courtney Lopez and maybe twenty twenty six but twenty sixteen
apparently having a moment right now on social media, probably
seen it trending or seeing a lot of posts from
ten years ago with captions like happy twenty sixteen and
wake up it's twenty sixteen. Psychologists are waging in saying
it comes from stress or anxiety, those moments when people
(07:41):
will reach back for something comforting or energizing interesting.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Really well, many people feel like twenty sixteen had plenty
of those things to reach for. After all, there was Pokemon.
Oh well, then the Mannequin challenge.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
That was fun. We did a great one by day
by the best we did probably the.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Best Captain America, the Jungle Book and fu songs like
justin Timberlakes, Can't stop the Feeling and see his cheap thrills.
You know, I just always feel like we're always going
to be going back in time, and back in twenty sixteen,
we were probably wanting to go back to twenty ten, twenty,
you know, twenty two.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
That nature is to be nostalgic. I think, yes, But
I also think society peaked in the eighties and nineties
one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yes, Well, Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
You're Mark Courtney Lopez. Starting to get an early look
at some of the much anticipated Super Bowl commercials, and
they are star studded. We got Benson Boone and Ben
Steeler teaming up for Instacart, William Shatner back for kel Ow's,
and Sabrina Carpenter picks Springle's potato chips like petals from
a flower, saying he loves.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Me, he loves me, not oh I like that post Malone.
Shane Gillis and Peyton Manning are also together in a
bud Light commercial post raps while tapping a beat on
a beer keg. That's always fun.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, he's funny. Okay, before you used to have to
wait till the actual Super Bowl to see the commercials
now shal kind of ruins it it does. You're a
(09:16):
Mario Corney Lopez teo more songs and they're gonna fire
up zoom to chat with the reality start Goldnessa. You
know her from the Shaws of Sunset but now in
the new Bravo series The Valley Persian Style, getting scoop
on that morn when she joins us next, You're Mario Lopez,
N't mean right now on zoom. You know her from
the Shasa Sunset and now the new series The Valley
Persian Style on Bravo reality star Goldessa Gigi gar Charaie,
(09:43):
did I get it? I like it. That's a beautiful name.
How you doing, I'm good?
Speaker 5 (09:49):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I'm well, I'm well. So it's been almost five years
since Shaws of Sunset ended, and uh, I assume a
lot of things have changed for this new series and
over that time.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Huh, yes, it's very exciting. Have you seen it?
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I have not seen it. I've seen it advertised, but
I have not seen it. I believe my wife has
seen it, but I'm gonna have to catch up. How
many people from the Shaw's cast are starring in the
new one?
Speaker 6 (10:13):
We three ogs? It's myself Reza and MJ. So three
of us came over here and decided to freak havoc again.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Yeah, you're in the valley this time because before you
were in West La, right.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
I was in Westwood area. Yeah. Yeah, I was in
Westwood since I was like eighteen years old.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
I'd stay there and then once I have my son,
I mean, you get a lot more space for the
buck in the valley.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah. All right, a lot more to talk about. So
hanktag quick break and we're going to come back with
some more.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Oh on, Mario Lopez catching up with Gigi from the
new Bravo series The Valley Persian Style this hour. So Gigi,
how many people from the newcast are there?
Speaker 5 (10:53):
We are twelve.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Oh wow, it's pretty deep cast, it is.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
I love that because we have a lot of men.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
Now. It's it's very just diverse an age and everything
like that.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
So it's really nice.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
And what kind of storylines are we going to see
from you?
Speaker 6 (11:10):
I would say first and foremost, you guys will see
me as a mommy. My son was six months old
when the show saw Shaza.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Since I got canceled, So now he's.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Five and a half, so everyone gets to see me
being a mom and you know, just trying to.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Figure life out. I was twenty nine when Shaa.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
Since I started, I'm forty four, so my drama is different.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
If that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Sure, that makes total sense. I get it all right. Well,
hang tight, we're gonna have more with Gigi coming up.
The first one was get back to Gigi from the
new Bravo series The Valley Persian style. You're on Mario Lopez,
and are you enjoying the valley? Because I saw on
the trailer there's some people that don't seem to be
enjoying it too much.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Listen, I'm loving the valley.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
I have no idea I would ever cross north of
Mulholland off the four h five, But I am obsessed.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
With the valley.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
It's great. What part of the valley?
Speaker 6 (12:00):
And is someone in particular you can see in the
previews that does not like it and she becomes kind
of rude about it all season long and it rubs
everybody the wrong way.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
That's cool, des Ice. What part of the value are
you in?
Speaker 5 (12:14):
I am? I am in Woodland Hills.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Okay, nice, that's really nice. There still more to talk
about a few more songs, and we're going to come
back with some more Gigi from The Valley Persian Style.
Al Maria Lopez got Gigi from Shaw's of Sunset back
in the Day on Zoom with us News. Series is
the Valley Persian Style over on Bravo and Gigi. One
of the changes since Shaw's is that you are a mother.
(12:38):
Are you allowing your child to be on camera or no?
Speaker 5 (12:42):
I am.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
I am allowing my son to be on camera. He's
excited about it. He's a YouTuber, you know, kind of
sensation loving person. So I told him it's going to
be like being on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Here you are, so he likes it.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
He's enjoying it.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Nice. Nice, Good for you. All Right, one more thing,
I want to ask a quick break and then want
to come back and wrap it up.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Way Rabino with Gigi from the new Bravo series of
The Valley Persian Style. You're on, ma Mario Lopez. Before
I let you go? Are we single? Are we dating?
What's the deal?
Speaker 5 (13:13):
I'm very single.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
I had this interview with Jeff Lewis a few weeks back,
and you know, he was asking why I'm single, and
I said, you know, I don't know where.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
You even start.
Speaker 6 (13:23):
Where do you go in LA in a city like
Los Angeles? Where do you go at forty four years old?
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Single mom?
Speaker 6 (13:30):
I'm not looking for someone to take care of my kid.
I'm not looking for someone to marry. I'm not so
where do I go? So I went and bought an
iPad and I joined Riah.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
There you go. I was just about to ask about
dating apps? Is that the only one you're on?
Speaker 5 (13:44):
I am on a waiting list, Mario.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Because it's a waiting list for a dating app.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
I don't know. I need recommendations, and I didn't know
that I was. I don't know. I've never been on
an app in my life.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
That's why I had to go buy an iPad because
it's an Apple thing.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I think that one's kind of one of plans.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
I would love that, Mario.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
That was kind of exclusive because it's like celebrities and
known people. So I think there's like a bigger vetting process.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah, okay, got it, But what about are you open
to other apps?
Speaker 5 (14:10):
I've never tried any other dating apps before. It's a
little scary for me.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
I don't want someone just to see my face and
be like, oh, you know, she's cute or she is this,
or she's that.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
And I'm not into looks.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
I'm a safe as sexual, So for me, seeing someone's
face will ruin it all.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
I'm in the brains. I don't want to see someone's face.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
All right, fair enough, fair enough, Well, good luck and
look forward to checking it out. And everyone listen. Be
sure to catch Gig in the new series The Valley
Persian Style Thursday on Bravo and streaming on Peacock. Thanks
for checking in.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Gig, Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (14:46):

the little cards I don't know I as an adult. Ah,
they should be if you given enough.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Mario Lopez will be right back tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Courtney Lopez music rolls on after some quick superhero food
buzz if you have a sweet tooth and having to
be a fan of The Avengers. Marvel and Oreo are
teaming up to make a superhero theme cookie Wow. The
Oriole Stuff of Legends cookies have a color changing creame
that turns from gray to blue. Oh that's wild.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
They have thirty two different embossed designs from franchises like
The Avengers, Spider Man, x Man, and Fantastic Four. It
launches with an online game that could get you fourteen
hundred dollars or a Disney gift card.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Orioles look like the first cookies ever invented. They just
look all so close to the end of the nine
for us, Mario Lopez, you got to squeeze in one
last thing. We'd love to squeeze in a request or
two before we get out of here.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Got something you want to hear? Slide into our dms
over on Instagram at On with Mario Lopez and please
click follow to join the fist.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Hey we're on, Courtney Lopez. Almost time to pass the mic.
But now before we get to one last thing. Twenty
twenty six for me is really going to be about
taking my health health to the next level and replying
to text immediately and replying to text immediately. Yes, correct,
that's the one two punch. I've always made health my
top priority, always preached that because without that good as
(17:11):
anything else. However, I'm not really good about maintenance and
taking care of my body and really sort of giving
it the proper and rest and recovery and recovery that
it deserves. So I recently met with a great doctor
turned out to be my friend, really cool guy. Shout
out to doctor John Lakey, and he convinced me to
(17:34):
do stem cells. Okay, because I've had a myriad of injuries,
torn both my biceps, torn my rotator cuf, torn my achilles.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
All this just in the time we've done this radio show,
by the way, exactly really like in the last five years.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
So you know, now getting into my fifties, I don't
want to stop doing the things that I love. So
I want to just take care of it and be proactive.
So the thing about stem cells is it's great for
tish shoe repair regeneration, right. It can also treat any
sort of blood disorders you have or any sort of
chronic diseases. But for me, I'm trying to really kind
(18:11):
of strengthen the tissues all around the bones. Ironically, I haven't
both broken any bones, but your ligaments start to get
enments are weak. Yeah, they start to get well, they
start to get damage over time. Right, it's kind of
like a they wear down. They wear down. It's not
a piece of cloth. It's just started to kind of
feel like a rubber band that you use A very
good analogy that touches up. So by being proactive and
(18:32):
doing this sort of stuff, I'm hoping no future injuries.
So I went to do the the stem cells. We
went down to Mexico and there's a whole process, but
I got to say, I feel great. The process so
far is so good. I think it's a once a
year thing. And again, I'm really happy I did this
because I don't think there is a better investment than
in your health.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Yeah. Well, I love that you're doing that for you,
and eventually I would hope that you would want that
from me as well.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Yes, honey, if your bodies, I guess healthy's could be
you haven't broken.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Or torn anything my Okay, you guys, I was a
dancer my whole life. My what I put my body through.
You guys have no idea. Well, let's get I have
injuries that I never tended to because I was working
and didn't want to complain dancing in three inch heels
on wooden stick like hard surfaces. But you do, you
boo over here in a wheelchair.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Let's do it. We're hitting up, lady.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Put more Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
All right, that's it. Thank you so much foraging on
with us. Also thanks to Gigi from Shaw's Sunset in
the new Bravo series The Valley Persian Style for joining us.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
I'm with Mario dot com for the full chat with her.
More fun tomorrow. As always, until down, This is Mario
and Courtney Lopez saying good night
Speaker 1 (19:46):
With Mario Lopez
