Speaker 2 (00:02):
Weekend vibes are now full of fat Mario Lopez here
back in the driver's seat for the next few hours.
A lot of fun store for you today. Jody Sweeten's
gonna zooming in next hour to tell us about Hallmarks,
the Heiress, and the Handyman, plus a return to the
Jane Mysteries. We've also got your first look at all
the new movies coming to theaters and streaming this weekend.
And my wife and I are gonna be facing off
in another fake debate. But right now we got more

(00:23):
great music. You're on with Mario Lopez. You're on, Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Let's take a look at what's on TV today. Hula
premieeres How to Die Alone. When a broke airport employee
has a near death experience, she's inspired to live her dreams.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
This reminds me the title, not the premise, reminds me
of the person that was working at Wills Fargo and
was dead for three days before someone discovered that.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
I think it was four days, yeah, four days. Even so,
how to Die Alone like that guy? That was a
sad story. They've also got in vogue the nineties a
documentary about the fashion industry in the nineties, featuring Anna Wintour,
Kate Moss and more. Okay and Disney Place says Lego
Star Wars Rebuild the Galaxy Dayton Modarazzo finds a powerful

(01:07):
relic that rewrites reality, forcing him to restore things to normal.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
So, my son Dominic recently had a birthday, and he
told all my friends, and I told him the future,
when they ask you what you want for your birthday,
mix it up. He told them all he want like
Legos or l Star Wars, Legos, different kind of thing.
So now he's got yes, like twelve of the same thing.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
I go, bro, you got to mix it up. You
have to be strategic with this.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
He told them off, hoping like they're gonna go. They're
gonna get you. I said, so now you got to look,
you got twelve Darth Theater legoheads.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I said, you got to mix it up. Mario Lopez,
there was some quick buzz for you. Halsey has announced
that she's engaged. Sure fiance is Canadian actor and singer
ofvin Joja.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
They've been dating since September of last year. No word
yet on how the proposal went down.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Maybe we'll see the ring next weekend on the red
carpet of the iHeart Radio Music Festival.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Congratulations, Assie, you're all Mario Lopez. Time for some birthday
shout out. So I'm gonna try to get the ages
from One Direction. Solo artist on his own Nile Horn.
Two new live albums coming out soon. I think we
talked about recently thirty three, thirty one. Okay, Tyler Perry
Diary of a Mad Black Woman. I think he owns

(02:22):
most of production in Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, one of the wealthiest people in the entertainment industry.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Very nice guy. I'ver reclusive too. You don't hear too
much about him. Tyler's I'm gonna say, is fifty nine
fifty five?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Wow, he's that young. Yes, that's incredible good. I actually
thought he was in his sixties. He's such a big guy.
Been around while you think.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
And Peter Sata Glory of Love, former Chicago singer, one
of my favorite male singers ever. Wow, bold statement, unique voice. Yes,
Peter's got to be such cheesy way, that's why he's it.
I like Peter with Chicago seventy one years old, eighty.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Wow, Lopez coming up?

Speaker 5 (03:02):
What up?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Mario Lopez?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Here?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
In exactly seven days, we're gonna be kicking off the
iHeartRadio Music Festival Friday and Saturday.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Night in Vegas. You can watch it live on Hulu.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Line up a stack too, with everyone from Dua Lipa
to the New Kids, and you know there's gonna be
some surprise guests and collapse.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Make sure to add it to your watch this Now, what.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Ut Mario Lopez? Here are just a few songs away
from chatting with today's guest. It is actress Jody Sweeten.
Her new Hallmark movie drops tomorrow, The Heiress and the Handyman. Well,
she's got a budget new movies hitting the new Hallmark
Plus streamer. We're gonna find out about him next.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
It's up.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
You're with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Story even now on Zoom for the new Hallmark movie
The Heiress and the Handyman actress Jody Sweeden, And welcome
to the show. Jody.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
How are you Hey, I'm good And how are you
I'm well?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Thank you. You're like the face of Hallmark this month.
Let's start with The Heiress and the Handyman. Love that title.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I'm assuming you're the heiress, or you could be the handyman.
You never know these what you never know, you.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
Never know, But no, I am in zach heiress. In
this one, I played June Waltshire, who is a sort.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Of you know, daughter of a.

Speaker 6 (04:07):
Wealthy hotel family and she happens to lose all of
her money but is left a farm in upstate New
York from her recently deceased aunt Bertie, and so she
shows up there and has to learn all about farm
life from obviously the very handsome handyman.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Next door Bert Bert Bart.

Speaker 6 (04:28):
I did this the whole time, by the way, I
kept farm Bert, and I was like, no Bart, June
and Bart, and yeah, he plays the corey Sevier plays
the handsome handy man, and so of course, you know,
it falls upon June to learn how to win a.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Fall fair, which includes some show.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Pig trying, you know, around the ring and apple pie
baking and all manner of.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Fall fun fun premise sounds romantic, but I got to
be honest, I'm trying to picture a scene where you
look at them romantically and say, Bart, you make me
feel you know, Bart is a funny name for a
romantic lead, especially kept saying Burt exactly.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
Burt Reynold's right. I kept going that way.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
No, you know, it's look I June and.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Then I'm also in the Jain Mysteries. The names, We're just.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
Trying a lot of different things out here, but I
think I think we're just it's like the named storms.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
At some point you just get you.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
Start having to throw in some of the less used names,
you know, with the with the Hallmark movies.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Fair enough, Well, The Heiress and the Handyman premiere is
tomorrow on Hallmark. Let's take a break and we have
more with Jody Sweeten, Hank Tight.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Or Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Mario Lopez here, my guest, today's actress, Jody Sweeten of
the Jaine Mysteries on Hallmark.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
And speaking of the Jaine Mysteries, you've got three new installments. Yes,
did you film those all at once? How does that work?

Speaker 5 (05:58):
We filmed them. We started filming them like end of
last year.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
I think it was like October, and then kind of November, December,
and then we did another one in February, and we
shot all three of those for the new homemark streaming
service Hallmark Plus, which is where all the new Jane
Mysteries will be and those are so much fun because
they're so different than you know, like a rom com.
It's it's there's the tension between Detective John and.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
I, who's played by Steven Bizzar. You know, there's sort
of the will they won't they?

Speaker 6 (06:30):
But really it's focused on, you know, solving these crimes
and helping people find justice through her detective agency.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
So well, you can find the newest editions of the
Jane Mysteries on the new Hallmark Plus streamer. We're going
to talk more with Dodi, but right now, let's play
some more music. Mario Lopez. Here, you got Jodie Sweeten
on Zoom with me talking about the Jane Mysteries on
Hallmark Plus. And there are songs in the movies. Yeah,
are you doing any singing?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I am.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
I am doing all the singing that is me. Our
theme song actually got nominated for like a I think
like a Canadian Television Award.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
For Best Original Song.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
I love it because I am I am a singer.
So I get to work with some really talented Steph
Copeland writes uh and produces the songs for the shows.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
And so each.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Episode I get to do a new song, sometimes two.
So it's it's a lot of fun because I get
to kind of get my toe into that as well.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Good for you those barts. Yet no Bart singing.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
There is no Bart singing.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
If you are looking for a singing Bart, I believe
you would have to get the Simpsons album from like
the early nineties.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah, Bart, I love it.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
You know, you never know, Bart, I mean.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
That could take off, could take off, could take.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Off next year, the most popular baby name.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
All right, more with Jody sweet in a moment right now,
let's keep the music going.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
What almar A Lopez here my guest Today's actors, Jody Sweeten,
and you've got a podcast, how rude Tanerto's fun title.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
What kind of memories come up from watching the episodes?

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (08:11):
My god, so many because we haven't watched We never
watched the.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
Show, you know, Andrey and I like sort of the
joke was like, yeah, once you did it, like you
didn't care about.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Going back and rewatching it. You're like, ah, it's done,
you know.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Next And so we have a lot of these episodes
we've never seen, a lot of the storylines that didn't
involve us.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
We were like, oh, I didn't even know that happened. Like,
you know, it's like watching it all over again.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
I mean there's some bits and there's like certain episodes
you definitely remember.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
But it's also it's just so much fun to go.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
Back because it is like watching home movies where things
that you haven't thought about in thirty years all of
a sudden popped and you're like, oh my god, that's right,
I remember we did this, or this person.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Came on and we didn't. You know.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
It's it's an incredible trick done memory Lane, And it's
also really fun to get to see why people fell
in love with these characters. Yeah, having never really watched
the show, you're kind of like, oh, it's you know whatever,
it's it's a show I did.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
But watching it from the first.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
Show and how we as a cast developed, like it's
really you see exactly why people fell in love with
the Tanners because you watched us kind of all fall
in love with.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Each other and grow up.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Actually, yeah, well you can find how Rude Tannerito's on
iHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Going to take a quick break, We're going to wrap
it up with Jody in just a moment.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
You're the full.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Interview now at on with Mario dot Com. More Mario
Lopez on the way.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Mario Lopez here wrapping things up with Jody Sweden. And
you've got a couple daughters, right.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
Yeah, sixteen and fourteen.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Oh wow, mine just turns thirteen yesterday too. Oh that's fine,
thank you. You're here in La, right, yeah, yeah, I
stay hear in La.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Okay, great, I'm here in La in the heat.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, I have rights starting to cool off. It's starting
to cool off a little bit.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Well. Listen, watch The Heiress and the Handyman with my
man Bart Saturday on Hallmark Channel.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Jody, thanks so much for hanging out today.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
To take care.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Bart's making a comeback.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
He is.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Mario Lopez. Here was some quick buzz. Michael B.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Jordan is returning to the director's Cherry is going to
direct and star in a new version of The Thomas
Crown Affair. I love the original film that came out
back in nineteen sixty eight with one of my favorite actress,
Steve McQueen, but there was also a nineteen ninety nine
version with Pierce Brosn and I forgot about that.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
That's right and Renee Russo. I didn't mind that one.
His directorial debut, of course, was Creed three, which was a.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Big hit, making more than a quarter billion at the
box office. So congrats Tom for mussy movies. Mario Lopez,
let's take a look at what it's new in theaters
and stream this weekend.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Speak No Evil, It's in theaters. James McAvoy befriends a
couple on vacation, but his abusive behavior starts to take
a violent turn. It starts to take a wintern.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
I'll watch anything with James McAvoy. He's an incredible actor.
He should have been nominated for an Oscar when he
played his just Wild character in Split he Literators, when
he played his characters, yes, there was like eleven of
him and he was so good.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
That guy's really talented. The Killers Game in theaters. Dave
Batista is an assassin who takes out a contract on
his own life, then must match skills with the best
hit men in the world.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
My kind of flake, but Batista doesn't look like much
of an assassin these days. He went from superhero to
super skinny. It was a major transformation. I we're gonna
have to put a picture of the website.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
I was blown away. Transformers one in theaters, a prequel
about how Optimus Prime and Megatron first became enemies. Wow,
we're getting prequels and Transformers all right. This is Wahlberg
in this. Yeah right, my old ass. It's in theaters.
Not just a description of most of us, but an
eighteen year old goes on a psychedelic trip. It brings
her face to face with her thirty nine year old self.

(12:07):
Who is Aubrey Plaza fun premise and Aubrey's hilarious. Aubrey's funny.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
And I love that thirty nine years old is considered
You're an old ass.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
That's crazy, I said, most of us and uglies. It's
on Netflix in the future when teens are surgically transformed
into attractive people when they turn sixteen. One girl spies
on a friend who skipped the operation.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, this is like a Space Odyssey deal in the future,
and I thought they were going to make it more
modern day.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
It's it's kind of interesting. I'm not feeling that one more.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Mario Lopez coming up Mario Lopez here, and now that

has kept this news on the DL, but he has
quietly gotten married his bride Brooke, a digital marketer. Ceremony
was at Charlie's parents' house in Santa Barbara, who have
been dating for the past two years, but they've actually
known each other since they were kids.

They've got a little time to honeymoon because in December,
Charlie's kicking off a tour in Asia.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Nice, congratulations more Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Lopez here,
And it's not just Friday the thirteenth, it is.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Also Bald is Beautiful Day. Shout out to some of
my homies who are bald and beautiful.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
The Rock Dana White, Jason Statham, Jason Statham, he still
rocks more of like a shadow has a little bit
of a cold at sack.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Yeah, the shadow, but he would still be considered bald
and beautiful, all right. Mario Lopez here and iHeartRadio is

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Jo a Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Not for another fake debate when the topics are made
up on the spot, but the passion is completely real.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Who's prone, Who's condident, Who's pro? Last time, all right,
so Courtney will be con Mario will be pro. You'll
have fifteen seconds to make your case. Ten second rebuttal.
Your topic today is unplay. I'm pro and plugging. You're
pro unplugging. In this chaotic world.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
We live in where we're consumed by electronic devices, it
is so important to unplug once in a while and
literally disconnect from the digital world and be either by
yourself or with your loved ones.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Missus Lopez, you're against unplugging.

Speaker 7 (15:20):
I will not and cannot unplug. I have an earthquake app,
and it gives me a notification when you're about to
go down.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Mister Lopez, the odds on having an earthquake during our
national Day of Unplugging are incredibly low. I think the
pluses outweigh the minuses. This shouldn't be just a one
day year thing. This should be a once a week thing.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Missus Lopez.

Speaker 7 (15:44):
I disagree with you, because just a few weeks ago
we did have an earthquake and I called it twenty
minutes prior not because of the app, because I'm psychic
and the app.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
I don't know if that helps your argument. You think one?

Speaker 4 (15:57):
And Mario, tell Mario what you think on Twitter petch
on with Mario more Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
On the way You're on Mario Lopez and before I
take off of the weekend, I'm gona give you the
final word with our.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Tweet of the week What do we got? It's from
at Braves, Ashland. I found out a married couple I
know doesn't have assigned cars. They just grabbed whatever keys
they find and go. This is the craziest thing I've
ever heard in my life.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
You must have very wealthy friends, because if you just
are grabbing random keys, it are going. That means you're
not leaving certain stuff in the car that you may need,
and usually people leave some stuff in the car that
you need.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
You have pre set days, your seat is a certain way.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, there's all that, But like, if life is so
fluid that you can just grab any keys and jump
in any car, that must be nice.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Braves. Of course, my wife can grab my keys and
go and what she wants.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
But I've got but I got my gym bag in there,
and I've got like my you know.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
It's not a situation where you guys would randomly just
say cars like she would go, Hey, I'm going to
use your car to whatever right right exactly, that I've
never heard of, that this is a surprise when you
walk in the garage. Oh I guess I'm driving this today.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Want to be the tweet of the week.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Tweet us on with Mario and hang on because Mario Lopez,
We'll be right back.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
All right, I'm out here.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Bring on the weekend, but I'm back on Monday with
some of the guys from all American rejects. Until then,
Mario Lopez saying good night.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
