Speaker 2 (03:28):
All right, a few more songs and they gonna fire
up zoom so we could chat with actor Josh Dea
mel Mario Lopez. You're a new movie out right now
called Off the Grid. Now the season of his Western
coming back to Netflix. Lots to talk about when Josh
joins us. NeXT's bar Mario Lopez joining me right now
on Zoom, Actor Josh Dumel, Josh, how you doing, brother.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
I'm doing all right.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
More for you, buddy, I'm doing well. Always nice to
see you.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
He gave me a quick little tour prior to uh
speaking right now of your beautiful place out in Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Man, how long you been out there?

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Now? Man, it's been sixteen years. I think it's been
sixteen years, but it's you know, it was pretty rugged
for the first ten and we were picks and shovels
for the first for the first ten years or so,
no plumbing, no electricity, out houses and washing dishes in

(04:20):
the legg Yo.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
That's wild because I know you're from North Dakota. I
can't picture. Is it really How close is that to Minnesota?

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Okay? So we live in Fargo. That's my residence is Farging.
My wife is also from there, Oh she is, Okay,
but the cabin is about an hour and a half
into Minnesota from there, got it?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
So okay, So it borders it right there. Dude, Well
that's beautiful out there. Congratulations man, and congrats on the
new movie. Looks fun Off the grid. Ironically, who we're
talking about right there?

Speaker 3 (04:48):
What's the premise on this one?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
So it's about a guy who invented this cold fusion
technology that was intended to be used for free energy
for the world, but the government wanted to weaponize it,
and uh, you know, a few tweaks here and there,
something that was gonna be very good for the world
turned into be something that could be very bad. So
he took it and he went into the into the woods,
into hiding and he's been living off the grid for

(05:13):
five years, and oh wow, I think that's what really really,
you know, I love that about the script. When I
first read it as this guy was just he's completely
unplugged living this life that's is basically as you can
get and it's very innovative, and his gadgetry felt very
uh very mcguiver. Yeah, and I like and I like that,

(05:34):
So that's that's that's one of the main reasons I
did it.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
So funder and fun and fun premise.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
All right, Josh Hank tag and play a few more
songs and we're gonna come back and talk with Josh.
Catch it up with Josh Jamel this hour. Mario Lopez
here in the movie is Off the Grid. And uh
also your Netflix series Ransom Canyon, congrats, I know I
just got renewed for a second season. I'm really looking
forward to checking that out because I haven't had a
chance to yet, but I'm going to because I love

(06:00):
me a Western and I.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Love we got to put you on a cowboy heat
and come out and join us.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Dude, I'm ready, I can ride. Where do you all
shoot that at? New Mexico, New Mexico, Okay, we go
to do a lot of You've been in New Mexico
for the Hill Country of Texas.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yes, Oh so much fun. Do you have a blast
on that show?

Speaker 5 (06:17):
I did you know? I hadn't been on a horse
for years. It been I mean, I grew up in
North Dakota like you like, you know, but and so
I was just by proxy. I was around horses my
whole life and rode quite a bit, but I hadn't
ridden for years, So it was a it was a
pretty steep learning curve. When we got up. We had
a cowboy camp. We went out there and learned how
to rope and ride and wrangle line all the things

(06:39):
cowboys do.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
That's awesome, man, I know I'm looking forward to checking
that out, all right. Hank tight More with Josh coming
up after a quick break.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
More Mario Lopez coming up quickly getting back to Josh.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Ja Melos on Zoom with Us this hour. Mario Lopez here,
And it's funny you mentioned North Dakota. I forgot to mention, well,
I was there for something. I think an a philia
visit or something. And dude, you're all over the airport.
I'm like, you're north of.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
With your video like, oh, there's job right there.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
The I'm the poster boy for Note to Go to Tourism.
It's it's a it's a heavy left. Not a lot
of people, not a lot of people have visited there,
but it is. It is an amazing state. It's fun, man,
they recommend it. It's great for road tripping. Yes, it's
just wide open, beautiful, giant blue skies and corn fields
and sunflower fields as far as you can see in

(07:25):
great little roadside diners and bars and all that kind
of stuff. So it's it's a beautiful, beautiful place.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
God's country out there, all right, josh han'k tight. We're
gonna have more.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Josha Mel coming out Olimore a little pez chatting with
actor Joshua.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Mel this hour.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
And you got another film in the works. You're directing
this one too, as well as starting and it called
Preschool And uh, is this the first time putting on
the director's hat for a film?

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Well, I directed, there's We did these two movies, Buddy Games,
and then the second Buddy Games movie called Spring Awakening, Okay,
and then and then this is this is gonna be
my third time. Yeah, this one, this one's a little
uh less r rated. This one is more for the masses.
It's it's still pretty hard hitting comedy. It's about two
dads who are fighting to get their kid into the
last spot in this super pretentious preschool and sabotage and

(08:10):
do all the things that they have to to win
that spot. So it's a fun I think anybody from
New York or LA or any of the big cities
can relate like I can.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Been there.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
You take Queen School very seriously.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
It's the biggest hustle kids of coloring. What am I
spending all this money for?

Speaker 2 (08:28):
It's a I'm telling you right now, all right, Josh
hayned Tight a few more songs and we're gonna come
back and talk with Josh.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Josh ta Bella on Zoom with us this hour.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
What a Mario Lopez and tell me about this other
film in September. You're busy, brother called London calling.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
What is this one about?

Speaker 5 (08:44):
So this is a movie that I did with Alan Hunger,
who directed a movie called Bandit we did a couple
of years ago, really talented young director about a guy
who's sort of a past his prime. He's a he's
a hit man who's past his prime. Opening the movie,
he shoots the wrong person and has to go into
hunting in Los Angeles, leaves London London to a Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Is it a comedy? Oh yeah, because it sounds hilarious.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
His site isn't quite what it used to be, so
he gets his job Harry h mob boss in l
a and ends up working for him in exchange for
going back to see his son in London. Yeah, he
has to teach this mob boss his son how to
be a man. He takes his his son is a

(09:32):
little soft, so he makes me take him on a
hit and it's just it's just a you know.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
That's a that's an awesome premise.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
A lot of a lot of a lot of mishaps
for sure, but it's a fun movie. Really talented cast
and very excited about that one.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
My kind of flick man. Congrats on that. All right,
one more thing I want to ask quick break and
we're going to come back and wrap it up with
Joshua Meltin.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dot Com
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Wrapping up with josh Tommel.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
You're wrong with Mario Lopez and before you go, man,
how old are the kids now?

Speaker 5 (10:04):
I have an eleven year old who's about to be
twelve in AUGUSTA and then seventeen month old. Ah starting
to yeah because our boys changing diapers?

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Man?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Yeah, man, our boys I forgot.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, they're pretty much exactly the same age. My boy
is going to be about to be towel at the
same time too. But yeah, you got My youngest is five,
so yeah, they starting over again.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Is it's fun?

Speaker 5 (10:24):
Wait?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Little boy? Another little boy or girl?

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Two boys?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yeah, two boys, two boys.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
We're hoping to have another one soon. I'm not pregnant,
but we're hoping to have another one. I'm nice to
have a little girl too.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
You'll probably give twin boys.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Hey, I'd be okay with that too. No, of course
that I really would be. I love being a dad,
as I'm sure you do. It's a it's a lot
of fun. All my friends are sending their kids off
to college and I'm still changing diapers.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
No, you're right, man, And I think now that we're
a little bit older, you know, you get to appreciate
a little more patient and stuff.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Yeah, wiser exactly than we were before. You know, it's
it's good. It's good. I get to be sort of
a dad in a grandpa in one.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I'm not looking at it like that, but I feel you.
I feel you, ay man, it's nice catching up. Congrats
on everything, on everything, and everyone listen. Be sure to
check out Josh in the new movie Off the Grid,
which is in theaters right now.

Speaker 3 (11:12):

Speaker 5 (11:13):
You're the man.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Mario, All right, body, I hope to see you sooner.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Cure.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Thanks back.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Oh with Mario and Courtney Lopez. Just talking about summer.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
A lot of people excited for warmer weather vacations, of course,
but one thing no one looks forward to is those
summer electric bills.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Keeping the house cool is not cheap. So what is
the best temperature to set your air conditioning on?

Speaker 6 (11:47):
Well, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program,
it's seventy eight degrees.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Oh come on, what are you you, lizard? Or seventy
eight degrees not your money?

Speaker 6 (11:59):
Follow recommendation, though I'm guessing nobody follows his recommendation. Consumer
reports found seventy two degrees was the most common setting,
but that six degree difference will cost you about ten
percent more than keeping it at seventy eight.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
That's a good investment money.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Well soon, can I tell you something, seventy two degrees
with the acon feels different than seventy two degrees with
a heater on too.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Yep, a person does. Yeah, you're a Mario Lopez.

Almar dot com for first Look at the Bear Becoming
