Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Back behind the mic, back to work. What up, Mario
and Courtney Lopez here. Fired up that we get to
hang with you for the next few hours. A lot
of radio fun to get into, including a great guest,
actress Lana Condor. She's set to join us with a
scoop on her new movie, The Devil's Mouth.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Plus, we'll dig into the buzz to catch you up
on everything trending from the weekend. Filter through our mentions
to see what is on your mind. And we're just
a few songs away from asking a random question.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
So turn it up. You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Mario Courtney Lopez quickly squeezing in a random question. What
you got, Kordo? Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Would you rather have your shadow live independently or your
reflection give bad advice?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
I don't understand what I just asked you, but.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I would rather have my shadow live independently because then
maybe it can.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Accomplish more?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Accomplish more. Because maybe it can handle a few more
tasks that I might not be able to get to.
I like that. You can't have your reflection give you
bad advice. That's awful. That's like a curse.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
Unless you know it's bad advice and then you just
do the opposite.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Mario Courtney Lopez here. Music rolls on after we break
down an interesting rumor in the buzz. Word is Ryan
Gosling is working on a Flintstones live action reboot.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
What?

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Twist is it's apparently going to be focused on Bam Bam.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
That's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Deadline reports that the project is looking for a writer.
Character grew up in the Flintstones spinoff, The Pebbles and
Bam Bam Show, back in 1971. He's the adopted son
of Barney and Betty Rubble. He was super strong and
would destroy everything, not knowing his own strength.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Bam, bam.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
That's pretty much all he said. They had a Flintstones
live action film. I remember John Goodman was Fred Flintstone.
Halle Berry was Betty. No, no, no, no. She wasn't Betty,
was she? She was Betty. Rosie O'Donnell was.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Somebody in that.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Rosie O'Donnell. No, Rosie O'Donnell must have been Betty. So
Halle Berry was the assistant. Halle Berry was the assistant.
Rosie O'Donnell was Betty. I can't remember, but I remember
John Goodman was Fred. Yeah, he was.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:06):

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I'll borrow Courtney Lopez. I think I found another must-watch
doc to add to our list.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Wham!

Speaker 2 (02:37):
10 Days in China. New doc directed by Mike Christie
revisiting the British pop duo in their landmark April 1985
visit to China back in 85, of course, making the
first Western pop act to perform in communist China. Wow,
what a trip.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Over roughly 10 days, they played two historic concerts, introducing
live Western pop music to Chinese audiences for the first
time amid a tightly controlled political and cultural environment. The
film uses newly restored and previously unseen archival footage of
the trip, combined with new interviews featuring Andrew Ridgely, members

(03:13):
of the touring party, and Chinese fans who experienced the
show's first hand.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
So, you know I love me some wham, big George
Michael fan. This is great, and I'm sure I will
enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Do you ever want to hug me?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
That's boy George, not George Michael. That's boy George. How
dare you? That's blasphemous.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Wow. Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Katy Perry, back in the buzz. What up, Mario and
Courtney Lopez? Music rolls on in a sec, but I
wanted to mention that this fall, Katy Perry's live concert film,
The Lifetime Tour, live from Paris, is headed to your
local theater. It's going to be released worldwide in cinemas
starting September 2nd.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
The film, shot during two sold-out shows in Paris in 2025,
was done with a 60-camera setup capturing Perry's gravity-defying performances
and hit-filled set list. If you're a fan, it'll be
a whole new way to experience her powerhouse vocals and
elaborate choreography as she flies.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yo, I'm Mario. I'm Courtney Lopez. A few more songs.
They're going to fire up Zoom so we can chat
with today's guest, actress Lana Condor. Her new movie is
The Devil's Mouth. Back to get the scoop on that
and more next.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
What's up, y'all?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I'm Mario Lopez. Joining me right now from the new
film The Devil's Mouth, actress Lana Condor. How you doing, Lana?

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I'm so good.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
It's good to see you. It is nice to see you, too.
And congrats on this new film. It looks pretty wild.
All about some friends who go on this guided tour
through a cave system in Thailand.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Right.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
And then chaos breaks out.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
All hell breaks loose, baby.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
I like that. Now I've done some cave exploring, not
in Thailand, but in New Mexico. And there was it.
I could see it being mad spooky in there with
the bats and everything. So what's the premise here?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Oh, man.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
OK, well, this film, these five friends go on this
like kind of scuba diving, snorkeling cave spelunking situation. But
then they get trapped in the caves and they realize
that there is a shark that's also trapped within those
same cave system. That is essentially stalking them and they

(05:17):
have to find out how to get out of the
cave system.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Now, did you get to film this in Thailand and
like real caves?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yes. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
So we filmed this last year in Thailand. We filmed
on location in real caves.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
And in the real ocean with real.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Sharks for like two weeks. And then the rest of
it was all in Thailand. But we built the cave
system in these amazing studios. We were in the water
12 hours, 13 hours a day.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
That's crazy. Well, that salt water is at least good
for your skin.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
My hair looked incredible.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Lana Condor on with us right now. You're on with
Mario Lopez. We were talking about your movie, The Devil's Mouth,
coming up. And I know you had another action thriller
come out earlier this year called Pretty Lethal. So you're
digging these adrenaline type roles, huh?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
I know.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I don't know what's going on with me.

Speaker 6 (06:15):
Like typically I, you know, I, I'm not, me as
Lana is a very sleepy girl. So I don't know
why I'm choosing these very active roles, but I'm loving it.
And there's so much fun and it's a joy to
get to go to work every day. And I, and
that's what I'm kind of chasing.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
So.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
And that one had Uma Thurman in it, right? How
was she to work with?

Speaker 1 (06:34):
She's amazing. Oh my God.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Well, she's the goat. I'm with Mario Lopez. We got
more Lana Condor coming up, but first more music. Wrapping
up with Lana Condor, you're on with Mario Lopez. We've
already talked about a couple of movies, but later you
got another fun movie coming out called Coyote vs.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Acme.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
My whole childhood right here about the iconic cartoon, of course,
Wile E. Coyote suing Acme Corporation. I can't believe they're
making this like a movie. Tell me about this.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
We're so excited about this film. It's been a long
time coming.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
It's kind of this love letter to the nostalgia, like
just that, you know, so many people grew up with
these characters and with this franchise. And it was just
a joy to be able to be a part of it.
And Will Forte and John Cena are amazing. hilarious in it.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
And it was a joy to make.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
So I really hope that people see that film in
theaters because it, if you follow the story of that film,
it's kind of a miracle that it's coming out in
the first place.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
So we hope.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
That we can get some seats, some butts in seats
for sure for that one.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Well, good for you. Good for you. Congratulations. And listen, everyone,
be sure to catch our new thriller, The Devil's Mouth
on Amazon Prime. Lana, thanks for checking in. Thank you
so much for having me. This is, it's always an honor.
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Oh, you got it.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Take care, sweetie. Have a good one.

Mario and Courtney Lopez here. We love hearing from you.
A little more music, and we're going to dig into
our mentions to see what you've sent our way.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
In the meantime, you got a song you want to hear?

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Just let us know and hang on. We're back to
see what's on your mind next.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
At all with Mario and Courtney Lopez. Time to dig
into our mentions to see what's on your mind. We
love hearing from you. Questions, comments, whatever you got. What'd
you find, honey?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
OK, I know you're excited about the recent announcement that
humans could theoretically live up to 156 years. But how
do you think Kordo Kordo feels about it? I can't
believe people are.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
So I posted on my IG stories. I always like
to do fun. uh headlines that i can't believe it
was a real headline i've been seeing in time magazine
a bunch of reputable um sources that if a person
starts really taking care of themselves and starts taking the
right i don't want to say um Medicine, but nutrients,

(10:17):
what have you, GLP-1. The regimen of vitamins and stuff.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
You can live up to be 150 something. That's wild.
But here's the thing. I don't know if I'm down
to be like 156, but I want to be 156
in like function. I don't want to be like Yoda
and just kind of chilling.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Looking all crazy.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
I don't think you can do much about that.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Are you sure?

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Although I've known you for 15 years, you look the same.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
So maybe.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Well, thank you.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
But this question isn't about you.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Well, yeah, it is about me. They just said.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
No, it isn't. It's about how does Kordo feel?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
That was the question.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
They said, I know you're excited. This was some background info.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
How do you feel?

Speaker 2 (10:50):
How do you feel? How do you feel? That's right.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
I think it's terrible.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
I've always told you, I do not want to live
that long.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
That's terrible.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
You just want me to be, I don't want to
live till I'm 156. Why not?

Speaker 2 (11:01):
We get to see our great grandkids.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
You know what? I, yes, I told you, I want
to leave this earth when there are pictures of me
still looking like still looking good. And that's how I'm remembered.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
That's terrible.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
I don't want to look like.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
A shriveled old mess.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
And those are the last things that.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Everyone thinks of me. So you want to leave me
alone is what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
I will never leave you alone because I'll haunt you.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yeah, she's going to haunt you after.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
I figured out, by the way, what you have to
apparently do to live to 156. Because I asked Rock
if I could live to 156 and what do I do?
And it said, you almost certainly cannot. At least not
with current science and technology, but this theoretical model from
Russia that says that if all other aging processes were
eliminated and only the accumulation of somatic mutations in non-dividing

(11:46):
cells remained as a limit, median lifespan would reach that.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Huh. So you're saying there's a shot.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
There's a chance. More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I'm Mario Lopez reminding you to hit up OnMario.com to
check out our On With Mario interviews podcast. Full conversations
with all the awesome people who dropped by recently at

(12:16):
all those and more. On with Mario and Courtney Lopez.
A lot more music and fun headed your way as
Cordo tries to make us think-o with a random thought-o.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
What you got?

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Have you ever wondered why we don't pronounce the meow
in the word homeowner? Home-meow-owner.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Well, because it is not a full word. It's a
hyphenated word. And so it breaks it up. Well, no,
it's a full word. No, it's hyphenated.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
No, it isn't.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Homeowner's not. Homeowner's hyphenated. No, it's not. When I've seen it, it's... Well,
you've seen it wrong. Look it up right now.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Look it up, too.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Stand by. Stand by. Let me see.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
Homeowner.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Oh, you know what?

Speaker 5 (12:56):
It is not hyphenated.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I stand corrected. We're going to chat GBT.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
You're one of the first to hear him admit that
he was wrong.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
I am man enough to admit when I am wrong.
It's rare, but I am wrong. Wow. You're right. There
are a lot of words like that. You don't pronounce
them certain ways. You know what I mean? There's a
couple of good ones that I can't remember at the moment,
but okay.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Start saying meow.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Meow.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
Meow.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Mario Courtney Lopez with a quick look at the buzz.
Americans are increasingly choosing pets over children. 40% of adults
saying they would pick a furry friend over having a
kid if forced to choose. That's cold as ice. Survey
also found that this trend is even stronger among younger
generations with 55% of millennials and Gen Z considering building
a life centered around pets. They're pets instead of raising kids.

(13:43):
People said they prefer pets these days because the freedom,
easier care, and the lower financial costs.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
You don't have my pets, then. Wow. Wow.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
That is... Look, I get the... It's obviously more expensive
to have kids and pets. However, a pet is like
a little... kid that never grows up. You have to
keep doing stuff for it with a much shorter lifespan.
But that's not good for population in the future.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
No.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
That does not bode well. That is not good.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Coming up, more Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
You're on Mario and Courtney Lopez. Music rolls on after
some quick health buzz. Nostalgic fitness is trending. Break out
the leg warmers.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Gen Z ready for some jazzercise. TikTok overrun with clips
from Jane Fonda Robix to Ty Boe. Oh, Billy Blanks,
get in there. Experts say it's all about going back
to something that's fun and enjoyable, not so high intensity
and exhausting. Oh, that's fun.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Tybo was intense and exhausting.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
It was as intense as you wanted to make it. Hey,
you got to start somewhere.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah. All right.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Let's get back to music. So, does your choice of
wine age you? Mario and Courtney Lopez here with some
quick booze buzz. Turns out, your wine order might be
giving away your age. New survey says there is a
clear difference between what millennials and Gen Z are sipping
at the bar. During the mid-2010s, millennials were swept up
in the rosé all-day craze and are continuing to keep

(15:06):
that trend alive as they still account for nearly 40%
of rosé drinkers. Gen Z drinkers, on the other hand,
have adopted Sauvignon Blanc, also known as Savvy B, oh
my gosh, that's their signature drink. So these days, ordering
rosé might be a bigger clue to your age than
getting carded. I'm assuming it's popular with the females. I

(15:27):
don't see too many guys out there, young guys, ordering rosé.
But it does make me think of my first introductory
alcoholic beverage. Not beer. I'm not counting beer. I think
we should come back and talk about that. All right,
but right now, let's get back.

Speaker 6 (15:40):
To the music.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
What's up, y'all? Mario, Courtney, Lopez. So earlier I was
talking about how Gen Z is really into ordering rosé.
That's their alcoholic drink of choice right now. So it
got me thinking of back in the day what my introductory–
first alcoholic beverage was not counting beer because that, that
doesn't really count. My first drink that I had was

(16:05):
a captain Morgan spice rum with Coke. Okay. That was
my rum and Coke liquor drink. And I used to
think that was the best thing in the world. I
haven't had it in forever. Then it's segued to captain
rum and seven up just to look a little clearer.
And that was a drink for, for a while into
my early twenties. And then at that point, I graduated

(16:28):
to vodka and did all the vodka mixers, and I
was that for a while, for years. And then I
started messing around with bourbons and whiskeys, which was fine.
But then I came full circle to my heritage, and
now I'm just pretty much straight tequila. I won't discriminate,
and I'll drink it all.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Right.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
You know, and I still like scotch and bourbon. I'll
still have that. But if given choice, I do like
the tequila because it does have certain medicinal benefits.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
And if you get really good tequila, like Casa Mexico tequila,
which you can find at casamajicotequila.com, then you won't get
a hangover. And I do really like it. But isn't
that funny? The little journey of alcohol and beverages. What
was your first one?

Speaker 3 (17:08):
I always ordered a white Russian with vanilla Stoli.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
That's like a dessert. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
No, it just has milk in it.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
That sounds thick.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Well, that's what I ordered.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Judging.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Like a milkshake.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Fine. More Mario Lopez next.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
All right, that's it. Thanks so much for hanging out.
