Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Here we go, Mario.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Courtney Lopez back behind the mic, fired him to be
hanging with you for the next few hours. A lot
of us to catch up on.
Speaker 4 (00:10):
Plus we'll tell you about our world win trip to Italy,
share another helpful life hacker two, and maybe even squeeze
in a pop culture pop quiz. So turn it up
and let's get the fun started. You are on with
Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
On Mario Courtney Lopez. Happy to be back in studio
and hanging with you. After some whirlwind travel, missus Lopez
and I took a trip to Italy, part work, part
vacation and it was amazing, amazing. I mean, I don't
even know where to begin. I was there to work
for the Winter Olympics, shooting our show at the same time.
We started in.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
Milan, Ritchen Snoop Dogg Dog.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
We'll get to Snoop Dogg in a second, but we
shot literally next to the Duomo Cathedral, which took six
hundred years in the finish. It's the third largest cathedral
in the world after a Bilica win in londondn't believe
it or not, and three thousand statues if you just
feel the presence of God when you're in there. And
(01:07):
I was looking at that, and I was thinking, we've
really gone backwards as a society, because think about that,
this was one thousand years old. The craftsmanship, the engineering.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
The number of generations of people that had to build
that correct.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
But the way they were able to do it.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
It's amazing back then compared to They don't build stuff
now like they used to at all, not at all.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
And we went from to give you quick highlights from
Milan to Venice, which was awesome. We did the canals
to Florence, which is beautiful, and Michelangelo and Leonardo da
Vinci went. We got to see the Last Supper, and
we ended up in Rome, which I just want to
have a whole another break where we talk about Rome
(01:49):
and meeting the Holy Father. So we'll have to get
back and I'll fill you in on that more. Mario
Lopez coming up, All right, Mario Courtney Lopez here talking
a little earlier about on our trip to Italy. Had
to do some work for my show Access covering the Olympics,
but missus Lopez and I also got to do a
bit of a honeymoon. We talked about our time in
Milan and in Venice, which we did the canals, very romantic,
(02:15):
and we did some glass blowing. Forgot to mention that
you did.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
I did.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
Yeah, that was very, very very passionate about that.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
And then we went to Florence, of course, which is
probably the most charming city. And then we ended up
in Rome, which was my favorite because it really is
just an ancient city. All the buildings there are thousands
of years old. In fact, they have over nine hundred
Catholic churches just in Rome. I think we saw about
thirty of them.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
You're just walking and you just you walk upon one
and you're like, are the doors open?
Speaker 6 (02:47):
You open the doors and opened. We walked in, looked.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
At it again to choose one.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
If there's nine hundred, well you're walking by them every block,
and so they're just so pretty. Just start to walk
by and we got to see the Pantheon and all
the architectural marvels. By the way, the coliseum which is
really called the Flavian Amphitheater. We learned, and we went
underground where he used to keep animal. It was unbelievable.
But the highlight is we got a personal tour of
(03:13):
the Vatican and Assistine Chapel by the Swiss Guard, which
has been protecting the Pope for almost six hundred years.
Because six hundred years ago not.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
The same Swiss Guard. He's not six hundred years all.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
He might have also worked on that other cathedral. We
don't know the same. You ask.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
The Swiss Army apparently had the most intense soldiers from
back in the day. But they're holy men. They have
to have graduated college. They've been protecting the Holy Father.
That's his secret service, mind you. He also has the
Italian Police and an army outside Vatican City.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Is its own country, its own country, they're kind of
protect Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yes, So shout out to our new friend John McCaffrey,
who was able to set everything up for us. We
got a private tour, We went to a private mass,
and we got to meet His Holiness Pope Leo, who
blessed my cross, gave us a couple of blessed rosaries
and it was one of my bucket list moments and
(04:08):
I was just on cloud nine for the rest of
the week.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
I've never seen Mario nervous.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
And my wife was reminding me, thank you, honey, your cross, your.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Cross, forgot to do.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
At the moment, and so and then I oh, and
I said, Holy Father, would you please bust my cross?
Which he did and then gave us some rosaries. So
it's next level. But he was very kind and generous
with his time.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
And did you know who you were? Was he a fan?
Speaker 3 (04:34):
He kind of had a little smile. I think maybe
kind of recognized me because when I asked him to
pray for the family and to help me navigate life,
it's challenges and stuff, and he's like, it must be
very hard in your business.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
And yeah, and so he was.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
He was, he was. He was very very cool. So, yeah,
pinch me moment, never forget it. Glad we experienced that
to that.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
Is a very interesting club to be in. You're in
a club where the Pope knows who you are.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
This is on with Mario Lopez, powered by Vix Breathe
in Vix soothing and comforting, non medicated vapors with Vix
Vapo stick and.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Here music rolls on after some quick buzz. Another reboot
in the works, So Rockford Files. David Brianas from Buffet,
the Vampire Slayer and Bones is going to take on
the role of Jim Rockford. Big Shoes to Phil was
of course originated by actor James Gardner, the late actor's
daughter Gigi Garner, even giving her stamp of approval.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Oh she even shared on social media that she got
a call from David, who was kind enough to share
that he was offered the series and thinking about it.
He asked Aaron how she felt about the reboot, and
Gigi posted, if anybody can do it, he can. You're
very excited about this, honey, all right lit in all caps.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Congratulations capn the music and fun coming your way. You're
a Mario Courtney Lopez. Few more songs and a quick
stop into quartos corner? What are we talking about today?
Speaker 6 (08:58):
Didn't miss that spring cleaning hacks?
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Ooh, we need that back with Cortos corner and ten
don't i'morl Courtney Lopez quick stop in a quartos corner
for a fresh life packerto and today it is all
about spring cleaning, which I love.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yes, so spring is right around the corner. I can't
believe it. And it never hurts you to get a
jumpstart on that spring clean and so here are some
key spring cleaning hacks to keep in mind. Utilize the
top to bottom method, so clean rooms from top ceiling
fans to bottom the floors to prevent dust from settling
on already cleaned areas, right, why would you want to
(09:37):
have to reclean it. Use an old pillow case to
catch dust from the ceiling fans, and dryer sheets to
easily wipe dust from the baseboards. You can also use
cotton socks on your hands to dust blines, baseboards and furniture.
You have a lot of socks to get rid of.
I'm going to be using them for microwave cleaning. Heat
(09:58):
a bowl of water and lemons license for five minutes,
then wipe down for an easy clean.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Oh good, because there's some nasty microwaves out here.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
An easy mattress freshener. Sprinkle baking soda on the mattress,
let it sit to absorb odors, and then vacuum and
take advantage of the dishwasher. Place vent covers and small
fixtures and the dishwasher to clean them.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
You can also put white shoes in there. Totally good.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Oh, Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Oh, Mario, Courtney Lopez and Kordo was just talking about
spring cleaning in Cordo's corner, which reminds me of spring.
Of course being around the corner, so is daylight savings time.
We were going to be springing forward, which which one
is that that's where we lose an hour.
Speaker 6 (10:43):
We lose an hour of sleep.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
However, it stays lighter now later, which I love.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
Why are we still doing this?
Speaker 6 (10:50):
There's no reason for it.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
There really isn't.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Only the state of Arizona is the state that I'm
aware of that doesn't do it.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
You know what I loved when we went to Italy.
It was all the same time when when we went
to the different.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Correct well Italy, mind you, is the size of the
state of Florida.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Yeah, that boot fits in one time zone, so I
know it fits, but I still like it.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yo, Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Time to choose your side, Team Mario or Team Cordo,
because we're just a few songs away from a mini
pop culture pop quiz. What's this theme about Frasier Italy?
Speaker 5 (11:33):
You guys just came back from Italy. We have some
trivia questions about Italy. We're gonna see who paid more attention.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
And my wife's Italian too, so we'll see what's up.
All right, back to battle it out.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
She gets a prop automatically.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
All right, Time to.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Battle it out and mini pop culture pop quiz. Mario
Courtney Lopez. Here, Fraser just told us, since we're back
from Italy, we're gonna see who's paid attention during the
trip and can answer some Italy trivia AND's on the buzzers.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Go with Mario pop quiz.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
I don't know what that means.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Everything's there, all right. How do you say cold in Italian? Mario?
Speaker 6 (12:10):
Frio?
Speaker 5 (12:11):
Incorrect?
Speaker 6 (12:12):
What Fritzio?
Speaker 5 (12:16):
No? This say is Freda or Fredo?
Speaker 3 (12:18):
How do you spell how do you spell f R
E D d o? It's freed?
Speaker 5 (12:24):
You say the frio, I said, don't.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
Try to pull the frio. So you did not say that.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
You say all your words in your American accent, so
we can be clear.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
That's pretty good. I don't mean the Spanish.
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Uh, it's zero zero. Here's the next one. What is
the modern day capital of Italy?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Roma?
Speaker 5 (12:49):
That is correct? Man, it's a zero.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
What is the largest lake in Italy?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Lake Como?
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Incorrect?
Speaker 3 (12:57):
No, Como is a huge.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Wow, it's the one like went to.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
You think that's it.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
It goes all the way to Switzerland.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
You want to guess Accordney Lake Guardaff. So one to zero.
Two questions left. What is the name of the neighborhood
deemed Little Italy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Oh? Really, I haven't been there in forever, Mario.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
The Little Italy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is no.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
No, I know it.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
It is West Mifflin.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Smifflin is inorrect.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
It's not Station Square, No, it's it's it's you already
said it.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
It's not. You're not going to get a point, but
I feel like it's on tip of your tongue.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
It is.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
We're gonna be the first letter B.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
Bloomfield.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yes, I'll give you a prop for that. You're going
to a prop for that.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Bloomfield and Lawrenceville are like border like Glendale and Burbank,
and that's what my dad grew up in Lawrenceville.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Okay, there you go.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
So I'll give you a prop for that. It's uh
one to a prop. There is one question left. Who
was the first Pope? Well, technically it's Peter, Saint Peter. Yes,
oh Peter, the Apostle.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
Yea, why you were about to just know?
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Because he was an apostle. So that's Mario Way, Yeah,
that's why it's Saint Peter's Basilica.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Just talking about Italy. A bit of go Mari in
Courtney Lopez here. The Winter Game is still going down.
I'm not sure if you saw this, but at the
Winter Olympics, endurance athletes are experimenting with a unique supplement,
broccoli juice. Oh.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
This concentrated liquid is being embraced by cross country skiers
aiming to improve their performance and recovery. The drink contains
a compound that may help lower blood lactate levels during
the intense exercise, alleviating muscle burn. They get it from
a company that distills it down from six pounds of
broccoli into a small liquid dose.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
And if you think that must.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
Taste terrible, you're probably right because they add lemon and
sugar to help.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
But it's still black.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
They had some other vegetable that was a juice trend. Okay,
broccoli juice in the past, remember the Yes I remember?

six is all about bloom scrolling. So we all know
doom scrolling en lesslie scrolling through negative news well spring
is comment so maybe you should start bloom scrolling instead.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
It is the opposite of doom scrolling. If you can't
figure that out, you plant good things into your feed,
choosing positive, calming and inspiring content. Think cute animal videos,
peaceful travel clips, wholesome moments, creativity, or anything that makes
you feel lighter. People are embracing it as a digital
self care habit, swapping constant negativity for content that boosts
(16:40):
their mood.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
I like that nice too, amar On Courtney Lopez keeping
the music and fun coming your way. But quickly, Kordo,
what were you saying? Happened to you? Right before a
trip to Italy?
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Oh so we've talked about before. On here.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
You and I were at sushi and we're sitting there
and the sushi chef said this.
Speaker 6 (17:00):
He said, is that your wife?
Speaker 4 (17:02):
And you said, yes, I'm sitting right there, mind you,
And he said, why is her face so small?
Speaker 6 (17:07):
It was the most awkward moment. We just laughed.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Cut to I'm at Target getting some travel things for
our trip and the woman ringing me up just looks
at me and.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
Goes, your face is so petite.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
And I just start laughing and I and she kind
of had this look on her face and I said, no, no, no,
I'm not laughing at you.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
I go and I started to tell her that story.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
And she goes, well, it's just so small. And she said, Unfortunately,
I'm Mexican and in our culture they would call me
horse face because her face was bigger. And she said,
she said, and I said, listen, I'm married to I'm
married a Mexican, so I know what you're talking about.
And she said, yeah, my mom would always tell me
that you have a horse but I have a horse face,
(17:53):
and I just always look at petit faces. But I
just it made me laugh so hard because this is
a second time. I'm like, is my face abnormally small?
Speaker 5 (18:02):
But here's the thing. I don't think it's abnormally small.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Here's the thing about Mexican culture. They will take your
biggest insecurity and make it your nickname.
Speaker 6 (18:09):
Right, and I love them for it.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Like you have a cousin Gordo, Yes, and he's not
even Gordlo anymore.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Mario Lopez returns after.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
This Mario Courtney Lopez, there was some quick health buzz
for you.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
You know that mid afternoon slump when a sugary snack
is calling your name. Well, experts say that sweet pick
me up might be doing more than spiking your energy.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
It could be messing with your long term Maraine. How
if It turns out the danger zone is between two
and four PM, when your body struggles to keep blood
sugar steady. So cookies and candy might give you a
quick blast of energy, but that usually is followed by
a crash. But whole fruit is okay, and other good
options include nuts, greek yogurt, and apple slices with nut butter.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Huh interesting, okay.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
A org show for fans is back.

Actor James Vanderbeek sadly passed away a few days back
at the age of forty eight. He was diagnosed with
colorectal cancer in twenty twenty three, and he went public
with it in twenty four. Of course, the kind of
teen drama Dawson's Creep navigated heartbreaking friendship and challenges growing up.
He went on to star in films like Varsity Blues
(19:40):
and Rules of Attraction. His family announced his death in
a statement on IG and said he met his final
days with courage, faith and grace. He leaves behind six kids.
Speaker 6 (19:50):
Young too, so you know that doesn't it's just so sad.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
He handled this probably as bravely as anyone could and
always seemed to have a smile and took it on courageously,
So you know, God bless him and his family.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
