No, you looking good? Hey, congrats.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
By the way, you were in Mass on the latest
season of The Mass Singer a pug Caso.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
That's hilarious. Did you get to choose it or was
it assigned to you?

Speaker 8 (03:58):
No, they actually assigned it to me. But I was
thankful because I saw some of the other ones.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
That I was.

Speaker 7 (04:02):
I would have not been great in the other costumes
for sure.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
And were you a fan of the show before? How'd
you end up there?

Speaker 7 (04:09):
You know? I never watched the show. I'd heard of it.

Speaker 8 (04:11):
I got asked a couple of years ago, but it
was not the right time, so they asked him again.
And I didn't really have anything going on during that
time period when they were filming, and and I had
to do some research on who was on it.

Speaker 7 (04:22):
So Lil Wayne was on in t Pain.

Speaker 8 (04:24):
So yeah, that's like like the top of coolness.

Speaker 7 (04:27):
So I was like, maybe that'll help me be a
little cooler.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Absolutely well, Philip Haink type for me quick break and
when we come back somewhere.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
More fun On the way On with Mario Lopez a.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Mario Lopez got Philip Phillips on Zoom talking about his
time on The Mass Singer. And you did some cool
songs too, saw like Teddy Swims, Cranberry s, Ice Girls,
even Alex and Warren. So I was saying, you were
like the best singer too in the history of the show.
Were you trying to show all some skills right there,
flegxos muscles?

Speaker 7 (04:52):
You know, I can't.

Speaker 8 (04:53):
I can't deny that I was trying to show some skills. No,
I was, you know, I just had a good time.

Speaker 7 (04:59):
Man.

Speaker 8 (05:00):
I had to change up some of those songs you
know too much by Spice Girls. That was one that
I was kind of not expecting to do okay on
because I was, oh, crap, I don't know any Spice
Girls songs, and then had listened to him since my
sisters were living with us, and then I got to
change that up and I really love how it changed
it up.

Speaker 7 (05:18):
So that was probably one of my favorites. Actually.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Nice all right, Well, almar dot com to see Philip
on the Mass Singer and hey ty more with him
coming up.

For wrapping up with Philip Phillips your own Mario Lopez,
been talking about your time on the Mass Singer, but
you also just release your brand new single Homesick this
week as well.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
What inspired that one?

Speaker 8 (05:49):
Yeah, so that song is about you know, I wrote
it while my kid was taking a nap and I've
been travel a little bit, and then you know, it's
really about missing the people you love and for me
two kids now, a little boy and a girl just
had a baby, she's like nine months old now, and
missing my wife.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
So I get to do some amazing things.

Speaker 8 (06:08):
I get to travel some amazing places, and uh, I
get to do what I love.

Speaker 7 (06:12):
But it also comes at a cost of missing things,
you know.

Speaker 8 (06:15):
You know, I'll be waiting to do the show and
wishing I was changing dirty diapers, you know. So this
is missing those little things about it and missing the
places that you that that make you you, that make
you your yourself.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, that's that's a tough balance, right there is the
is the song part of the bigger project, maybe new
ep here a.

Speaker 8 (06:33):
Yeah, working on there, got some other songs, you know,
kind of keeping keeping ready and uh, you know, kind
of figuring out the next schedule for those. But I
love this one and I'm hoping people love. What what's
coming up, you know throughout the rest of this year.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Could we possibly see you sometime this summer perform?

Speaker 7 (06:50):
You never know.

Speaker 8 (06:51):
I'm I think we're working on some some something something
going on in the fall, maybe coming in the summer,
and I'm sure we're going to get some shows throughout
the through a summer, but trying to work on something
for the fall time, you know.

For one of the things you'd want to improve in
the new year, then perhaps you should get a dog.
New study found that walk on your dog helps you
move better and keep limber, which is important.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
As you get older. You should know especially important.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
The results showed that older folks who walk their dogs
regularly were steadier on their feet.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
And less prone to falls. Well, you know what, my
mom and dad are proof of this, and they go
for long walk. They do go dog for long walk.

was also rated as the number one most stream series
across Disney Plus and Hulu in twenty twenty five. The
twenty second season finale is said to air May seventh

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Frasier at Mark Roberts, Oh what does he have to say?

Speaker 5 (11:26):
I think that girl in Florida you posted might really
be the queen of the squirrels. Seriously, though, did you
see the other story out of Florida the other week
about the guy who says he was kidnaped by dolphins
and forced to build an underwater city. Since then, like
twelve dolphins have washed ashore nearby. That's bizarre. I'm starting
to believe that guy.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Yeah, God bless that guy, and God bless Florida. All
these great stories coming out of that wonderful state. This
Florida woman was found in a tree wearing a squirrel
costume and she was throwing eight corns at police and
she was shouting, I'm the squirrel queens.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Kind of her face kind of looks like a squirrel.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
You know, to which I said, can a girl have hobbies?
A girl just get creative once in a while.

Time to get to one last thing.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Apparently our dogs may be eavesdropping on our conversations. New
study came out of University and Hungary that found that
a special group of dogs can learn the names of
brand new objects simply by overhearing their owners speak about them.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Researchers tested ten.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Dogs for the theory, and in the study, the dog
owners sat with another person and casually talked about the
toys without ever speaking to the dogs. Then the dogs
were asked to fetch the new toys by name. One
hundred percent of the dogs performed accurately. That's incredible, that
is wild. Researchers compared it to the ability of an
eighteen month old toddler who learned new words the same
way just by watching.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Yeah, but a toddler grows and learns more, and dogs
stay there.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
They stay about eighteen months. That's the thing about dogs.
They're constant babies.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Yes, you have to feed them, you got to do everything,
You got to do everything, but unconditional love.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yeah, it's worth it more.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Mario Lopez coming up.
