Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mario Lopez, Lights of Red MIC's Alive Mario Lopez,
your back behind the mic and ready to kick off
the Thursday edition of On with Mario.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Gonna share another helpful live hack catch up on the buzz.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Just a few songs away from our throwback soundtrack, So
turn it up, let's get this throwback.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Thursday started.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
On Mario Courtney Lopez taking a quick second to get
weird because it's time for Courtney's random thought?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
What you got?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
So?
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Do you even know where a microwave is? Okay, my kitchen?
Speaker 5 (00:31):
Have you ever when you had to put numbers in
a time for the microwave? Instead of just hitting like
one minute or thirty seconds, you just be putting random
numbers in like forty one with.
Speaker 6 (00:43):
Your rational numbers.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Yeah, I'm gonna tell you why because sometimes, for example,
this morning, I had the little breakfast and then I
had my tortillas. I don't warm up the tortillas as
long as I do the breakfast because then it gets
too it's too much. Yeah. Yeah, so then you know,
I put like a in it twenty, I let it
warm up for a minute, and the extra twenties for
the tortilla and I just kind of boom right there.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Do you leave it in for the full twenty or
you just yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Leave it for twenty twenty seconds.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
So I'm saying I do the breakfast a minute, don't
turn it off, just open the door, throw a tortilla
and then and then I'm ready to go. That's a
random number all Mario Courtney Lopez a few more songs.
I'm gonna make us stop in a Cordos corner for
a helpful life factor two.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
In the meantime, we're going to keep the music coming
at Jahn. In fact, you got a request, drop into
our mentions on Facebook or x at on with Mario
back with.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Cordos Corner in ten, don't move.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
You're all Maro, Courney Love Fez time learning a new
Live pac. What is the topic today at Courtey's Corner?
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Okay, well, no matter what the groundhog said, spring is
right around the corner, and that means spring cleaning is
also around the corner. So this is the most efficient
way to clean a house according.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
To the pros.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Okay, let's see.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
First, hire someone No, exactly, declutter a room. I am
a huge declutterer.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, same, you are a clutter. I'm not a clutter.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
What is the closet?
Speaker 6 (02:08):
What does the closet look like right now? Is it
cluttered or not?
Speaker 5 (02:11):
It's not because I spent all morning putting away all
these clothes.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I'm an unintentional clutterer. Like I just be getting stuff
and then I don't want to put it just anywhere.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
So you pile it. I let it pile, and then
someone else deals, and at.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Some point I go to declutter.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
But going, okay, okay, well declutter. Don't be like my husband.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
And if you're always stopping to move things, you'll only
waste time. So like, for an instance, if you come
home and you take your shoes off, don't just leave
them by the door.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Put them back where they go.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Then you're done.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Sometimes they're a little wet, so I let them just
kind of drive a nine thousands.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
Then you dust. You go from top to bottom, left
to right, once with the dry duster, once with a
damp microfiber cloth.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Okay, sare enough.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
And then don't worry about getting dust or dirt on
the ground because you always vacuum.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Last okay, okay, you go from top to bottom, so.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
You're assuming things are put away because.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
That was the decluttering earlier wetteras away.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Think of all the linear space.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
More Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (03:12):
What up, Mario Courtney Lopez? Here's did you make a
New Year's resolution? Are you still sticking to it?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Whether it's fitness, finances, diet, quitting a bad habit, whatever.
Now's the time in the new year when most people
break down. But it depends how serious the resolution was
to begin with. That's why I'm a fan of setting
small goals and ultimately having one big goal at the
end of the year, because if you just start off
(03:37):
with a big goal in the end of the year,
it's it's sort of daunting.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
So you got to supposed to say I want to
lose twenty pounds.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Just say, okay, this month, I want to get down
maybe five pounds. This next month, another three pounds, and
then keep going like that. If you're if it's weight related, yeah,
finances too.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
You got to try to monitor the same way.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
I mean, I've just learned that if I try and
plan anything, it's just going to get canceled or put
on the side burner, because with kids and life, it's
just things. You know, something's got to give and so
I just take one day at a time.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Actually yeah, but discipline is the only thing that will
get you through your resolution. So good luck, Mario Corney
Lopez here and if you're looking for a new podcasts
to add to the mixed, subscribe to this show.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
We take out the music and condense it down to
a smaller daily dose.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
It's really fun and funny. You can listen to our
extended interviews as well.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Just open up the iHeartRadio app or whatever you use
to get your podcasts and search for on with Mario.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Mario Courtney Lopez celebrating Throwback Thursday with this list I've
found controversial. I gotta say the ten or songs from
the eighties according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
All right, let's hear money number ten.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
If we're going to give you up.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
First of all, stop right there. This list has lost
all credibility. That is an awesome song, Rick Astley. Of
course it's corny, but it's cool corny and it stood
the test a time, and you see it in so
many movies and TV.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Come on, he's never gonna let you down, desert you.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
That's the kind of guy you want as a leader.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Number nine putting on the rits.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
I was never a big fan of that, so okay,
I get that.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Number eight, Hey Mickey, you're so fun, You're so fun.
You blow my mind. Hey Mickey.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
That was a fun, cheerleading type of song. And at
a moment, there's a lot worse than that.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Number seven, Don't worry, be.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Happy, don't tworry, be happen. Now, that does get on
your nerves after a while.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I don't know if it's the worst though.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Number six rock Me Amadeus.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
I don't know this one. Do Do Do Do, Do
Do Do?
Speaker 6 (05:43):
It's It's okay You're German.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
It was you, it was it was okay, yeah, okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
That that that I can say.
Speaker 6 (05:52):
It's good for like a listener to, but it can
get old quick.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
You're choking. Number five the safety dams.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
What is the safety I don't know.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
I just we can dance if you want to.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
What it is? We can dance if you want to
leave your friends behind? And if you don't dance, and
if you don't dance, there's no friends of mine. The
lyrics definitely are one of the worst.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
Yes, Number four, wake me up before you go?
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Are you out of your mind? That's a great song.
I didn't make this know what I'm saying. Come on,
Rolling Stone, that is a great song. It screams eighties
and that's what put Wham on the map.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
Come on, Bavid, move inside. We'll go danceing tomorrow. Not
it's called out there, but it is. Womany, come on
a great everyone has changed the station.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Number three, Lady Red cheek to cheek, she's dancing weird.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
It's a little schmaltzy, all right.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Number two it's the final count down.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
It's cheesy, but that's a that's a terrible but it's
a fun, cheesy song. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
And then number one, your favorite. It's always on the
playlist on repeat.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
We built this city that is okay, I could agree
with that.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
I think we built this city on rock and rule.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah, those lyrics are absolutely horrible. A lot of these.
I think if you go by the lyrics, then yes,
but they are catching.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Or Mario Lopez coming up, Jomar or Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
I have a random question, what you got honey?
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Okay, Well, Valentine's Day is coming up on Saturday, so
would you rather receive a really expensive gift or a
really memorable gift?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Well, if it's really expensive, it will be memorable. Both
things can be true. But if it was something like, oh,
I don't know, genealogy family tree with old pictures of
my great great grandfa or something like that, that's sort
of priceless, that would be kind of cool. Speaking of
which I do have something kind of like that. Wheren't
we gonna get it framed?
Speaker 2 (07:49):
What happened to it?
Speaker 4 (07:51):
It's in the office.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
It's in the office. Okay, good, I'm glad it's still there.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Here's my advice.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
I would just go to Macy's, a wonderful partner of
ours and a frequent day destination of mine online in person.
But a couple of reasons I recommend Macy's. They make
it easy to find something special for every relationship and
every budget, and they are the fragrance destination. Macy's is
your go to Valentine's Day spot for fragrance with top
brands like Why Sell, Armani and Carolina Herrera. So let
(08:20):
Macy's eliminate your worry and your stress and be.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Confident in your gift giving.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Macy's is the destination for getting everything you need for
Valentine's Day from your new look to your date night
to the perfect gift for your Valentine before it's too late.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Listen, just go to Macy's. Go to your local Macy's
for Valentine's Day. Peeps.
Speaker 3 (08:40):

Speaker 6 (13:29):
This is from at Billy bill Owens. Man this week
just dumping bad news on me. First, I find out
that being born before nineteen eighty seven makes me as
old as your principal was at Bayside. Now I find
out we're twenty days from losing an hour. Bro, I
don't have an extra hour.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
To lose, well, Billy bill Owens, Yeah, it can't really
help if you can be older than Belding back in
the day.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Getting older is a blessing. That's what I always say.
But how are you not excited about the hour change?
Speaker 1 (13:56):
You're not losing an hour, you're gaining an hour of daylight.
I guess technically sleepwise, but man, it's depressing when the
sun goes down really early.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Yea.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I love when it's late.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
It suns down at five point fifteen PM.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
It's starting to get a little lighter, but I love it.
And then here in La sometimes it could be like
eight o'clock and it's still kind of light. Poor Mario
Lopez connect on Mario Courtney Lopez got to check out
the new and improved iHeartRadio app. It's everything you love

back with today's case in ten.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
But first, more music.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
On Mario Courtney Love putting the spotlight all my wife,
because it's time to dish out some common sense justice.
All rise, It's time for Courtney's court. Today's case comes
from at Sarah dot six three four. She says, my
husband and I have been married for eleven years. We've
always agreed to not buy each other gifts on Valentine's
Day and each year recommit to not buying gifts before
(15:19):
the fourteenth. But the last three years he's bought me something.
I feel bad when he gets nothing, but he keeps
agreeing to no gifts.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Well that's on him, Sarah. I'm sorry, is they're not
the judge. I just had to jump in.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Order in the court.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Valentine's Day hack.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
Let's see, okay, nobody asks your opinions. I get that
they have that no no gifts agreement, and I think
it's really sweet that he still gets her something even
though he says I think he likes to surprise her.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
She thinks she's getting nothing.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
It is his prerogative and you don't have to feel
bad that you didn't get him anything. But maybe you
just get him like some candy or something where you
know it's not a lot or extra bessels or extra bestials.
It's not your problem. If he says no gifts, it's
no gifts. But if you feel bad, get him something.
But I think it's really sweet of her husband to
still get her something.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
More.
Speaker 1 (16:15):

up on Facebook. Add on with Mario. You're al Mario
Courtney Lopez. Some good news.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
If you're an early riser, mornings might just be the
secret to a happier, healthier life. New university study found
that early risers tend to feel happier, more sad, fight,
and have a stronger sense of self worth. Turns out,
people feel their best in the morning and hit their
lowest point around midnight. So if waking up early it
feels like when it probably is. I agree with the study.
The problem is you have to make sure you get
(17:13):
to bed at.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
A certain time, to wake up early, to wake up.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Early, and to appreciate that morning, because if you stay
up late and wake up early, that's a miserable morning.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Well, if you're up past midnight to know that that's
the lowest point, but you've woken up or of course
it's the lowest more than.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Exhausted more Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
All right, our time together is over, but we're back
tomorrow with more music, fun in Hollywood Buzz until then,
Mario Courtney Lopez and good Night, good Night Loud
Speaker 3 (17:40):
With Mario Lopez
