Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here we go halfway through the week, Mario, Courtney Lopez
back in studio, excited to get to hang with you
for the next few hours.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
A radio fun.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
You gotta take up a new case and let Judge
Quardo serve up some fresh justice. A little later in
Quarto's court, plus are going to dig into the buzz
to see what's trending, filter through our mentions to see
what's on your mind, and just a few songs away.
Honoring a good deed by awarding someone a good deed, Lopezzy.
We got all that more, so turn it up. You're
on with Mario and Courtney Lopez. Time to put the
spotlight on someone trying to do some good in the world.

(00:31):
You're on with Mario Lopez. Al right, Fraser, who are
we honoring with a good deed? Lopezy.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
This week, a science company by the name of Matter Neuroscience.
They placed a pair of bright yellow payphones three thousand
miles apart, one in Boston, one in Reno, Nevada, creating
a hotline that connects college students with senior citizens living
across the country. The phone near Boston University is labeled
call a boomer and the phone in Nevada is at
a senior center where residents are invited to call a

(00:57):
zoomer and a little social experiment so far as working
total strangers or picking up the phone and they trade
life advice, just have friendly chats. They never know who
they might get or what they're going to talk about.
But it's proving that companionship can exist across the country
and even across several generations.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Oh, that's so cool, matter neuroscience. I like this experiment.
You're probably making these seniors day as a matter off,
like it might be making a lot of these young
people's day as well. Really like this.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well, Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Oh, Mario Lopez, keep it the music coming your ways.
Fraser quickly breaks down a few of the new things
hitting TV and streaming.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Radioactive Emergency on Netflix, Season one of that, a Brazilian
limited drama thriller series about the real life nineteen eighty
seven radiation accidents, also known as the Caesium one thirty
seven incident. AH physicist and doctor's race to contain a
massive radiological disaster and save thousands of lives in this
drama series inspired by True Evans A True Evans.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Oh my gosh, well I think we dodge that bullet.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
But now Imperfect Women on Apple TV Plus. That's a
series premiere. After a murder shatters of the lives of
three best friends. They're decades long, bond is tested when
an investigation reveals betrayals and shocking truths. This has Elizabeth
Moss and Kerry Washington.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yes, good cast and it seems like a fun premise.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Dirty Rotten Scandals The Price Is Right. This is another
installment of the e Dirty Rotten Scandal series. This one
exposes alleged dark secrets behind the beloved game show Price
Is Right during Bob Barker's long tenures host from nineteen
seventy two to two thousand and seven.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's a heck of a run. I mean, come on,
we can't be smearing Barker's name. That's that's a Ted shady.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Is he still alive?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Rest, did he pass?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
He did?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I feel like he was going to live forever?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Well he almost did.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah he did. And Bad Foot Clinic on TLC series premiere.
I feel like you're gonna love this a leading pediatris
and her husband foot doctor. Yeah. Treat extreme and debilitating
foot conditions in their clinic. Cases include severe fungal infections,
thickened or damage nails, wartz corns, arucas, bunions, web toes,

(03:06):
and other painful or disfiguring issues.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
TLC's why, dude. They dominated the weight market, yes, and
the little people market. Correct. But they had six hundred
pounds tow one thousand pounds of the twent thousand pounds
in all the little people versions, whole families of they
had doctor pimple Popper, yes, which is disgusting. And now
they've go I got to imagine bad Foot Clinic is
on that level. They've really just sort of how would

(03:30):
you describe their whole.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Well, I mean, I guess it's kind of the learning
channel you were learning.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
You're study, definitely learning a few more songs. Gonna stop
in the Cordo's chords so we can serve up some
press justice. What up Mario and Courtney Lopez? Here, By
the way, if you ever find yourself in a weird
situation or a random dispute, or you just need some
good old fashioned advice, slide a node door DMS over
on ig and let judge Quordo help you out. O

(03:57):
at on Mario Lopez for that back with today's case
in tent. But first one music, y'all mark Courtney Lopez,
and it's time for a fresh case in Courtney's court.
All rise for the honorable Judge Courtney court O little bitess.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
All right.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
This one comes from Jen in Virginia. She says, I'm
about five months pregnant and recently caused quite a stir
within the family. It all started when I told my
mother in law the name we were going to use
for our baby, which is not a common name. By
the way, my sister in law is also pregnant as well,
but she's a couple of months ahead of me. I
went to her baby shower last weekend and she started
opening gives. She opened a monogram blanket and had my
baby name on it. I was then told that was

(04:33):
what she was naming her child, and it seemed as
if everyone was well aware of this except me. I
caused a huge scene, accused my mother in law of
telling my sister in law the name I told her
in secret, kind of yelled at my sister all out
and left. Now my husband's mad at me. The name
I've always wanted to use has been taken. I don't
know what to do.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Oh my goodness, I don't even know what to tell you.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
This just didn't announce what she wanted, right, she told
her mother in law. She just assumed her mother in
law would tell everyone else if she to announce it.
It's kind of fair game.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Also, maybe based on how you reacted to this, this
is why they didn't tell you.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
That's a good point too.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
You need to know what the name is, because if
it's not common and you both picked it, what is it.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
That's true, that's true. But I feel is she announced
it because we kind of went through a similar thing.
Had you announced it to everyone. If we have a girl,
we're going with this, we have a boy, we're going
with this, and they still did it, that's you have
a right to be upset if you didn't announce it
and you told one person and you just assume that
one person might say, then that's kind of it.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
But then what if the mother in law did say
something and the daughter took the name.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, but what the mother in law is me be like, hey,
let's take this name, so my daughter exactly exactly that seemed,
I mean, maybe there are there are evil people out there?

Speaker 4 (05:45):
This is like being struck by lightning. The chances are
very slim.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
You're not meant to have that name then, but you're
not meant to them. I think if you don't do
a broad announcement to the whole family, they know.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Exactly also and don't throw a tantrum.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Well, yes, because now you've made a scene and embarrassed yourself,
and that's what they're going to remember forever.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
More Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Lopez here, keeping the
music coming your way. After a quick look at the buzz,
K Pop had quiet the Night at the Oscars with
Golden from K Pop Demon Hunter's winning Best Original Song.

For each national Sloppy Joe day.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
You know, it's a little warm out here in Los
Angeles are having a it's not even a little warm revenue.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
No, it's a heat wave, a severe heat wave for March.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
But Sloppy Joe is more like cold weather food. However,
now I'm craving it now that I see it.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I mean, hearing it makes me kind of want it,
but then thinking about eating it makes me think I'd
be sweating a lot.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
No, you got to go indoors. That's an indoor move. Yeah,
right now, Yes, Jarl Mario Lopez wasting no time getting
right to today's CELEBT birthdays is all West Fraser's gonna shout
him out. I'm gonna try to guess the ages. We
had a lot of people that have been born this month.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
This has been a very popular mark for month for births.
I was born in this month as well. Lily Collins
from Emily and Perry Phil Collins's daughter.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Legend.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
He's a legend.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Correct, he is a legend.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
But she maybe eventually she's on her way.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
She's doing a great job.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
She I believe is thirty one, thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Oh wow, she looks great.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Adam Levine from around five, the Voice.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Had him on the show a bunch hm Adam's got
to be forty six forty seven.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Dane Cook, alleged comedian actor.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Also had him on the show He's got to be
fifty two.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
He is fifty four. And one time at seven thirty
in the morning, coming up the escalator outside, he said,
you're to get a salad and I was like, not
at seven thirty in.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
The morning, who has salad for breakfast?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
I have?

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Apparently Dane Cook wanted it.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Queen Latifa, Queen Latifa's gotta be fifty.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Four fifty six?

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
All right?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
And finally Vanessa Williams.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Vanessa Williams, former Miss America is turning sixty years old
sixth level sixty.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Three more Mario Lopez on the.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Way, It's Mario Lopez. Halfway through the week and about
halfway through the show. If you got a song one here,
please slide it in our DMS over on ig at
on with Mario Lopez. I'm gonna try to get something
played for you. Shortly. Speaking of shortly, apparently if you're
vertically challenged, there's some good news could be beneficial to
your health. Recent research shows a few ways you could

(08:38):
benefit from being shorter than average lower cancer risk.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
That's huge.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Some studies say the taller you are, the higher your
chances of cancer. What we also less likely to break
a hip. Shorter people have a lower center of gravity
and makes perfect sense.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
That does make sense, but it is kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yes, yes, and this I knew because it's just obvious
as you look around. More likely to live longer. On average,
Shorter people live two to five years longer than taller
Folks actually thought it was even longer. And on the
lighter side, you can get lost in the crowd when
you want to, and your feet don't hang off the bed.
See all you short kings out there, you have advantages
in life.

Speaker 1 (09:14):

This is from at Cammy hall. I don't know about
a kitten instead of a diamond, but honestly a puppy
might work.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yeah, I think Cammy Hall is is referring to a
post that I put up where I saw a guy
couldn't afford an engagement ring to propose to his girls,
so he proposed with a kitten and she looked thrilled.
And you know what, I love that for him. But
I captioned one trip to the vet and he's wish

(11:18):
you bought that ring instead.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Yeah, that's that's gonna cost you a lot over time.

Nick Jonas dropping his pick for the ultimate wedding song
and you find out which song he chose. And why are.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
You allowed to pick one of your own songs?

Speaker 3 (11:56):
I think you shouldn't be able to pick one of
your own songs, don't know. I think you should have
to pick someone else's.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I think so, I think so.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
A Zindaia finally addressing those Tom Holland marriage rumors. Oh, finally,

It's a recent iHeart Podcast awards. Check out Will's big
news and all the big moments from.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
That nice Almara dot com for all that more. Joll
Mario Lopez music rolls on right after Fraser tries to
make us think with a random thought, what you got?

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Why do we limit ourselves to mozzarella sticks? Why are
we not frying other cheeses like guda or pepper jack,
maybe even a sharp white cheddar. We could fry any
cheese there is, but we only fry mozzarella sticks.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
That's a good point, I think, because mozzarella stretches that
could be in the gooiness.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
It could be right, like, what is the texture of
the cheese when it's melted?

Speaker 2 (12:46):
And so I tried to fry to other cheeses and
maybe it's just not that tasty. Although anything fried is
pretty tasty, that's true. But the mozzarella sticks with the
with the elasticity I feel takes over a Mario Lopez earl.
Your frazer dropped a random thought on us, asking why
we stopped that mazzarella sticks and didn't fry other cheeses. Well,

(13:06):
here's something about cheese you may not know. Parmesan cheese
actually doubles as a healthy protein bar with thirty six
grams of protein. That's a lot of protein, no seed, oils,
and no added sugar. Evidently, aged parmesan or reggiano contains
about thirty five and thirty six grams of protein per
one hundred milligrams, making it one of the most protein

(13:27):
dense whole foods. Look at that. Wow. And unlike many
commercial protein bars, parmesan is made with just a few
ingredients milk, salt, and cultures, so you don't have the
added sugars, the oils, or the long ingredient list.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Yeah, so stop judging me when I'm just eating a
block of cheese please.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
By the way, it also helps extend the aging process
because it's got natural bioactive peptides that may help support
digestion and improve mineral absorption, which is why some nutrition
experts jokingly called it Nature's protein bar. That's it. I'm
pouring even more parmesan cheese on my spaghet next time.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
This is why when I'm at a restaurant and they're
like they're doing the cheese, tell me, I never say win.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, you gotta keep going.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Mario Lopez will be right.

Speaker 2 (14:08):

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Let it go, Let it go? What on Mario Lopez Here?
It turns out a Dina Menzel may have been trying
to improve your health with that song. Obviously, it can
be hard to let go of a garage but turns down.
Letting it go actually levels you up. New research shows
people who naturally forgive and them feeling better over time
than the ones holding onto resentment a year later. The
more optimistic, more grounded, more dialed into purpose. Yes, I

(14:53):
agree with this. Easier said than done. And listen, you
can let it go. You don't have to forget, but
you can let it go.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
So are you into vinyl? Mario Lopez here? And it's
amazing how the vinyl trend keeps grow and the numbers
just came out in Vinyl sales Group pass one billion
dollars in twenty twenty five. That's surprising. It's the highest
since nineteen eighty three. And who sold the most vinyl albums? Well,
Taylor Swift of Core. It's her album The Life of
a show Girl, So there are one point six million units.
That's wild. Sabrina Carpenter's last two albums, so nearly six

(15:24):
hundred thousand vinyl units. And what about CDs? I didn't
think you can still even purchase them. Vinyl more than
triple the revenue of CDs last year. I don't even
know who you can get a CD?

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Well, I guess you can. People just aren't huh more.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Mario Lopez on the.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Way on Wyld Courtney Lopez reminding you that iHeart and
TikTok have come together to create something new. iHeart TikTok Radio,

(16:22):
slash teachers to nominate your favorite teacher. Now, what's more
important to Lopez? Time for one last thing. I've often
talked about how sleep is incredibly underrated and how important
it is. We sleep a lot, we do, and I've
been training recently for a jiu jitsu competition that I'm
going to compete in. Things are going well, but boy,
I could use more sleep. And then coincidentally, I came

(16:44):
across an article about these elite athletes like Lebron James
and Ronaldo and Roger Freder all these people. Long story short,
these dudes sleep ten to twelve hours a night and
take naps.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
And they were talking about extensively. And the professor that
was on, he was a college professor. He said, naps
in long sleep is like an extra steroid because your body,
not only especially when you're training hard, which I've been
doing as of late, it kicks in all the extra
endorphins for later, your body recuperates better, you'll respawn faster.

(17:19):
It just compliments. It went and it was a myriad
of a list of things that how beneficial it is
to get this long sleep, and I was like wow,
And all the athletes, these these elite athletes that do
it tend to twelve hours and a nap, and I'm
like wow, So it's really next level when you're doing
something that's so physically taxing. It's really really important. So

(17:39):
I say this, honey, because no messing around. I gotta
start locking it in now a little bit sooner, at
least until after.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
You were the one last night at nine thirty just
getting in the bath screen We're gonna watch the show.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
I had a couple of cocktails. It's not it had
a couple of cocktails. But from now on, I'll want.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
To do that. You're you're arguing with someone who took
a nap at six pm?

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Were Mario Lopez coming up?

hanging with us. Hit Upalmara dot com to relive any
