Fun with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, back to work, Courtney Lopez here kicking off
another week of radio fun. Mario is out, but Fraser
and I are here. Yeah, and that's really all that matters.
We're here to hang out with you for the next
few hours. We're going to help you out with some
holiday gift ideas by filtering through Oprah's Favorite Things, and
we'll ask a holiday themed random question to get into

(00:23):
the holiday buzz and more. So, Fraser, turn it up.
It's me and you. You're on with Courtney Lopez. You're
on with Courtney Lopez. We're keeping it festive and fun
with a random question. All right, Fraser, your turn. What
do you got?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
We're turning it around on you because you usually ask
the question, So, what is your most memorable Christmas gift?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
My most memorable Christmas gift? I don't know if I
have specifically a gift, but my memory of just waiting
my parents would go downstairs to see if Santa came,
and yeah, you know, and thet yeah, let me go

(01:04):
see if he came, and they know Santa came, and
and I just remember I can remember standing at the
top of the steps just with you know, so much excitement.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
The anticipation, anticipation.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
But of course, you know, my parents worked to make
ends meet and we didn't have a lot, but we
always felt like we had so much, So, you know,
I think that's that's my favorite gift for me.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
It was Fireball Island. What is that? Sounds like a drink.
It was a board game when I was a kid
with a volcano.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Actually, now that you say that, now that you say that,
Mall Madness.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Was a board game, okay. And it was a shopping mall,
of course.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
And it actually came back a few years ago and
I bought it for Gia because I thought it was cool.
Ended up getting rid of it. She never used it.
You should it, I should have The.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Countdown at Christmas continues in moments This is on with
Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Hey, you're on with Courtney Lopez. Definitely got to set
a reminder for the biggest night of the holiday season,
and of course I'm talking about iHeartRadio. Jingle Ball, presented
by Capitol One. It's going down Friday, December thirteenth from
New York City's Madison Square Garden with a festive lineup.
This year, Katie Perry Tate McCrae, I Lover, twenty one Pilots,
Teddy Swims, Megan Trainer, The Kid, l Roy Madison, Beer Benson, Boone,

(02:31):
Gracie Adams. I was just listening to her Shaw, Boozie
and more. My God, I want to go here a
live Friday Night on the free iHeartRadio's Hit Nation station.
And don't miss the iHeartRadio jingle Ball Special coming to
ABC this holiday season, keeping the music and fun coming
your way. You're on with Courtney Lopez with your shot

(02:51):
to never miss an Encore. I'm talking a chance for
a trip to Vegas to see the iconic Lionel Richie,
the hilarious name Bergatzi, or the thrilling mythical Adventure awakening
in the Encore Theater at the Win Las Vegas. Winner
gets round trip coach airfare for two two nights at
the Win Las Vegas, two tickets to the show of

(03:12):
your choice and dinner. So hit up the website and
get signed up right now. This is awesome for info
and rules, just go to on with Mario dot Com
furnished by Win Las Vegas. All right, it's Corney Lopez here.
Mario's out today, so you get me lucky you, and
you get Fraser Lady, who's got some birthday shout outs

(03:34):
for us. As always, Fraser, you tell us who's celebrating,
and I will try and guess the age, and I
guess even if I'm wrong, I win.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, you do, you technically win automatically. I think Donnie Osmond,
someone I used to work with, one of the nicest
guys in Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Donnie is momed sixty seven.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
He is sixty seven? Shut up? Are you serious? The
wordplay was terrible, but the age was correct. Felicity Huffman
for I'm Jailbird.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Desperate Housewives, she is Felicity is sixty.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Three sixty two.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
John Malkovich from being John Malkovich.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Can't picture his face. But if I were being John Malkovich,
I would.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Be would be fifty eight seventy one. Oh, he's that old, okay.
And Dame Judy Dinch.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Dame Judy, you know, just because she's a dame, you
think they're older. I don't really know why they say dame.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
It's an honor from the monarch. So I think Queen Elizabeth,
when she was still alive, the second made her a
dame it's like being knighted, but you're a dame.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Still don't understand.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
She's seventy eight ninety. Good for her.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Happy holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez. Won'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
You're on with Courtney Lopez. Mario is out sleeping somewhere.
No he's not, but he he probably is. No, he's
actually making his way back from NYC where he helped
light the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, as he does every year.
That's so exciting. I love it because he's freezing and
he's not used to it. And if you miss that,
by the way, you can head over to onwmarrio dot

(05:13):
com for all the highlights. Kelly Clarkson performed My Girl Crush.
Like I said, you can see Mario freezing. His took
us off and I sat bundled up on the couch
under a warm blanket with a fireplace.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Do we have highlights of that? You know what.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
We don't. But I did text Mario and say, you
look great, honey.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Oh that's good.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I'm under a fleecy blanket in a fireplace. All right,
you guys, go back to the music, all right. It
still so much to get you as we power through

In the meantime, more music. You got a request to

(05:55):
send it our way on X at on with Mario Hey,
at On with Mario on x and Facebook, at on
with Mario Lopez on Instagram. We love hearing from you, guys.
It's Courtney Lopez here. All right, Fraser, what did you
find in our inbox?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Well? This is from at Ashley Proctor got to say,
I love the New Christmas movie. You, Mario and your
son were all so amazing, and as a musical theater
major myself, the musical component was a pleasant surprise.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I love that, Ashley. And I'm not sure if you know,
but musical theater was my thing went to college for.
It was on Broadway. So I love the arts and
I love that you're in the arts, and I'm happy
that you approved.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Can I ask one question, because I didn't get to
see the premiere over the weekend, does Mario sing.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
In this no, okay, no Mario. You know, Mario had
probably the one lead in a musical that.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Did not sing okay. I've always wondered that, Yeah, because
I know you guys met doing a chorus line. Yeah,
And obviously I didn't see course line. He always talks
about it, and I haven't seen this movie yet.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
I was just curious his character had no solos. He
sang with the group okay, but they just turned his
mic down.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Perfect.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Happy Holidays from the entire On with Mario fam More
festive fun coming up.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
You're on with Courtney Lopez. The music rolls on as
we quickly make a digital pit stop at On with
Mario dot Com to see what's trending.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Wats Rihanna and asap Rocky get caught getting cozy midaward show. Ooh,
you can find your generation's top Artist and Song of
twenty twenty four with Iheartradios rewind okay, I like that,
And Charlie XCX explains why she thinks people are brats
because we just are.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Sometimes we just have a bad day. All right On
with Mario dot Com for all that and more.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
The countdown to Christmas rolls on.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Oh my gosh, you guys are on with Courtney Lopez
just sixteen days until Santa arrives. I know this, but
when I say it out loud, it actually it makes
me nervous because I think of all the stuff I
still have to do.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
It's a two week just about, yeah, a little more.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Than little more than two weeks. Yeah. So hopefully you
guys at home have got all your shopping done, and
if not, we're going to help you out with some
holiday gift ideas. We're going to break down Oprah's Favorite
Things next. You're on with Courtney Lopez and I am
flying solo today as Mario travels back to LA from NYC,
where he helped light the Rockefeller Christmas Tree last week. Anyway,

(08:24):
with Christmas right around the corner, if you're struggling to
find the right gift for someone in your life, Oprah
is here to help with her annual Favorite Things list.
So maybe these will help inspire you.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I hope they do it. Fraser, what you got, Well,
if you have someone who looks at screens all day
like a child or me, peepers by peeper specks blue
light reading glasses. They'll keep you from getting a headache
while you're staring at those screens.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I actually like this, And during COVID when the kids
were homeschooling, I bought all the kids those glasses because
unfortunately they were sitting at a screen a lot more
than well.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
And kids in general just look at iPads all day,
and we look at our phones all day. Violet and
Brooks velvet foldable ear muffs. Ooh okay, so they're compacts
you can travel. Mario should have had these form New York.
He should justin Gregory Fox leather gloves. These gloves bring
a luxury feel for less than fifty dollars.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Nice. I love the look of leather gloves. But obviously,
if you don't want to go that route, the faux
leather is the way to go.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
And you'll probably like this. Kay Carrol color me clutch
led handbag. You need a red bag to match your outfit?
What about blue? This bag turns colors because it's it's
covered in led lights. I don't know if I want
to lie here has an Oprah choice either.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
You literally light up a room wherever you go. You know,
it sounds like something a younger girl would would have
fun with. Not don't buy that for.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Me, well, Oprah loves it.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
The countdown at Christmas continues in moments. This is on
with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
You're on with Courtney Lopez. New sweepstakes this week. We've
got your shot to head to Vegas to never miss
an Encore. It's a chance for a trip to Sin
City to check out the legendary Lionel Ritchie, the hilarious
comic Nate Bergatzi or the thrilling mythical adventure show Awakening
in the Encore Theater at the Win Las Vegas. Winner
gets round trip coach airfare for two two nights at

(10:20):
the Win Las Vegas, two tickets to the show of
your choice and dinner. You can get signed up on
the website now for more info and rules. Just going
on with Mario dot com and it's furnished by Win
Las Vegas. Good luck. You are on with Courtney Lopez.

(10:47):
And if you got kids, you already know. But he's back.
Oh mine's not the elf on the shelf. That sneaky
little guy is already popping up in all sorts of
wild places. Hit that iHeart talkback button and tell us
what's the creative spot your elf has been in so
far this year. By the way, if you want to
change it up, you can buy a Snoop on the
Stoop and Martha on the Mantle elf dolls at Walmart.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
I like the idea of putting a Martha Stewart doll
around the house at Christmas.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
You guys, I my elves have not come yet, so
this is making me look like a bad parent or my.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Kids are bad bad hasn't shown up late.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
That's right, he's late. Powering through this Monday solo. Mario
is traveling, so you just get me. Sorry. Happy Holidays.
It's Courtney Lopez with a quick reminder to check out
all the fun we had at the Hollywood at Christmas
Parade on the CW December fourteenth. I'm going to tell
you about this day. So we had to be ready

(11:45):
by four o'clock to leave. Okay, the boys had a
wrestling tournament, and we thought we have to be there
so early. We'll be home by like one o'clock. We'll
have ample time to get ready. It was a very
poorly ran wrestling tournament. Took for ever, the weights in
between each brackets. It just was. It was horrible.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
It was the perfect storm. It was the.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Perfect storm, but We said to Dominic, if it's two thirty,
we gotta leave, like, there's no way we can stay
for your all your meats. We get he gets one
in and it's two thirty. We get home. It's almost
three thirty. I had to get myself. No, there's a
red carpet. We're riding in there, there's a hole.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
It's not just riding the prey. There's a whole thing beforehand,
there's everything right.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
And I said to Mario, can I please stay home?
And of course he's like, no, this is a family thing.
I get the bra rally rally exactly. I get the
boys ready. I get myself ready, which really didn't. Threw
my hair back in a low, messy bun because like
I said, I had a hat on all day. It
looked terrible. It was flat. It was gross, through makeup on,

(12:50):
through this sweater on with jeans, completely underdressed. Get there.
After we do the red carpet. I look down at
my sweater that I had gotten dry clean. Oh no,
And on the buttons they were like crystal buttons. Okay,
never looked down because I just threw it over my head.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
I didn't un buttoned.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
The buttons were all covered with foil from the dry cleaner.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
You need to say, it's all festive decoration from pread.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
And I just couldn't believe that I let myself go
to something like that looking like people were there in
gowns that were riding. No, we were all like just
in jeans and like the boys looked amazing. Gea looked
like she just rolled out of bed because I didn't
have time for her, but she was home all day,
so I said, you need to be ready by this time,
and of course she waited till the last night. Look,

(13:38):
it was horrible. I looked like I just rolled out
of bed, but at the same time I didn't care.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
But it's also like just a fun festive story now
that you have of this like crazy Christmas adventure to
be in the Hollywood Christmas preade.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yeah, so I say, I had jim hare foil on
my buttons. Who cares?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Can't wait to see these photos?

Speaker 1 (13:53):
It cares to countdown at Christmas continues in moments. This
is On with Mario Lopez, You're on.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
With Courtney Lopez New iHeartRadio on the Verge. Artist Demiano
David is an Italian born singer and songwriter. You know
him from the band Manu Skin. Their song Began became
a huge hit in twenty twenty one. Well, he's now
embarked on a solo career and the new single has
quickly become a favorite, Demiano achieving a milestone two, the

(14:21):
first on the Verge artist across three formats at the
same time. I love it, Demiano. My brother's name is
Damien and I sometimes call him Demiano. All with Mario
dot Com to find out more about Demiano David and
his first solo single, Born with a Broken Heart. You're
all with Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Happy holidays everyone.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
We made it past Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around
the corner. Always something to celebrate, though, Frasier, what's today's
obscure holiday?

Speaker 3 (14:50):
National Christmas Card Day?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
And you know what, I'm hoping to get my Christmas
cards in the mail today?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Oh, today's perfect.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Today's a perfect. So I'm gonna really power through that
and just I handwrite all of my addresses because I'm
too lazy to put them in the computer.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
But if you did it once, then it would.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
I did do it once, Oh, but I stupidly did
it on a web from a website where I ordered
Christmas Cars one time and never order.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
You can't go.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah, and I can only as I.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Order from that site. You can't export that list.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
You can't export it. So I'm stupid and I'm mad
at myself, so I punish myself. Well.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Happy Christmas Card Day.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
You are on with Courtney Lopez, Netflix giving True crime
lovers an early holiday gift a new gen Benet Doc Frazer.
You've seen some of it, right.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
I've seen episode one. I think there's three, right, Yes, yeah,
I've seen one. And even though like we've seen a
million of these specials, I feel like this one actually
did kind of come from a different angle and it
kind of showed the media and the cops were colluding
in a way, at least so far.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Yeah, I don't. I won't give it away, but I
did watch the whole thing, and her father speaks in
this one, but he talks about things that the media
put out and then he tells you what was really
going on their version at the same time. So you
see how things just are counterproductive and how things don't

(16:17):
match up, and you know, it's really sad. All I'm
gonna say is I walked away feeling really bad for
the parents and you know, it's no secret that the
mom is no longer with us, yeah, and that she
passed away without any anything being solved. So hopefully, you know,
while the data is still here, they can they can

(16:38):
find some some closure.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Of the countdown at Christmas continues in moments. This is

Also got behind the scene pics and videos of Mario
helping to light the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, not literally lighting it,
he just counts it.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
He was there, He was there.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Sneak peek at us in the Hollywood Christmas Parade. The
latest music news Mario being overly dramatic about the cold

Mario Lopez on ig for all that and more. All right,
another chance for you to get signed up for a
shot to head to Vegas to never miss an encore.
We've got a chance for a trip for two to

(17:21):
sin City to check out the legendary Lionel Richie, the
hilarious comic Nate Bergazi, or the thrilling Mythical Adventure show
Awakening in the Encore Theater at the Win Las Vegas.
Winner gets round trip coach airfare for two two nights
at the WIN Las Vegas, two tickets to the show
of your choice, and dinner. You can get signed up
on the website now for info and rules just going

(17:42):
on with Mario dot com furnished by Win Las Vegas.
On with Courtney Lopez. I like how that sounds all right.
Secret Sanda can be a fun way to celebrate the
holidays at the office or with friends, but also kind
of stressful if you're paired with frenemies, or if someone
draws themselves, or you get colleagues who are virtually strangers.

(18:06):
You know, it's like, what do you buy for them?
So if you're stuck, here's a guaranteed gift to please.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Gift cards.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Although they are not particularly glamorous, they are a full
proof option. I love a gift card. I can't tell
you how many gifts that I get from people who
know me that aren't You're just like, oh, I'm like
thank you, And it's not that I'm not appreciative, but
I feel bad that their money is wasted. Also because

(18:33):
they don't give gift for seats, I will give you
a gift for seat. If the gift costs five dollars, yeah,
because it's five dollars that you could take to Starbucks, Yes,
and get a coffee. I don't want any money to
go to waste.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Well. And also, like with gift cards, if you know
that the person likes a particular place or something, you
can do that or just generic Visa or American Express
gift cards.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
I actually find gift cards more thoughtful.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
I think so too, especially if it's a place you
like and hunter.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
I love buying thoughtful gifts for people that I know.
I love shopping.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
I love buying funny gifts for people that too. Well.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Also, if you go to Amazon and search for Secret
Santa items under fifty dollars or whatever your amount is,
plenty of great atoms pop up, so that should make
it easy as well.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Happy Holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
We'll be right back all right.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
The music rolls on, Courtney Lopez. Here, just one last
thing to get to before I wrap up for the night.
Still enough time for a request or two as well.
So you got a song you want to hear to
slide into our dms over on Instagram, at on with
Mario Lopez, on with Courtney Lopez. Just time for one
last thing. The holiday season isn't just time for celebrations.

(19:41):
It's also the perfect inspiration for naming your dog. So
there's no shortage of names to choose from, so rover
dot Com put together their list of holiday inspired names.
Wasn't Julio my dog in a Rover dot com or
a RoverBook.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
I think in a RoverBook, I think he was, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
So handsome. All right, So these are the top five
most popular names in the US.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Yes, they're inspired by the holiday season.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Inspired by the holiday, all things festive.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
We have angel, Okay, I mean I probably wouldn't choose that,
but I can see that working. Frosty maybe if the
dog is not friendly. I don't know. Jingle, and I
can't get on board with that tinsel. No, tinsel is
bad just in general because it gets everywhere, it makes

(20:31):
a mess, and I feel like that dog.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Got faster maybe like an annoying dog.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Yeah, it's an annoying thing.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
And Snowball was.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Kind of cute for like a white dog. Yeah that
works all right. Well.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Others on the list were so cute, if not a
little odd, like cookie dosey, I love stuff like that.
That's cool, Tinsel chose, that's funny. Sugar Plum and Grinch,
you know my Oscar. Yeah, he could be Grinch.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
He kind of looks like his face kind of looks
like the Grinch.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
He's you know why, because he's misunderstood you. Sometimes he
seems grumpy, but you know, just like the Grinch.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Exactly, the Grinch was misunderstood. He didn't hate Christmas, no people, exactly.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Happy Holidays from the entire on with Mario fam More
fested fun coming up.
