Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, let's do this what I'm more on Courtney
Lopez back behind the mic, fired up to get.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
To hang with you for the next few hours. But
you're radio fun to get into.
Speaker 4 (00:10):
Include my wife and I battling it out in another
fun pop culture pop quiz a little later.
Speaker 5 (00:15):
That's right, Well, we'll take a look at the buzz
to see what is trending.
Speaker 6 (00:18):
Talk about back to school in my corner.
Speaker 5 (00:21):
And we're just a few songs away from telling you
about the travel rule leaving kids in tiers at airports.
All that and more so turn it up and let's go.
You're on with Mario and court No no need noz.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yo Mario and Cordo Lopez.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
So a few weeks of summer left, and a TSA
rule is leaving kids in tiers at airport security. TSA
officers are taking their needo squishy toys from carry ons
during screenings because they're filled with gel and have to
be three point four ounces or less to be allowed through.
Speaker 7 (00:55):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Most parents aren't aware of this rule, so they don't
know to pack the needles in their check luggage. They
get taken away. They're not easily replaced. No, they're not,
and they're kind of pricey. You can spend weeks trying
to find them as are often sold out online and
in stores. Our boys have a bunch of these and
that's not cool.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Come on, well, listen.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
And so they are not just hard to find, they're
basically impossible to find. So last week a friend of
mine that I just keep in touch with her on
Instagram posted something on her story where her friend in
Florida had this whole store of needos and she was
selling them.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
And you could pre order.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Oh, so I came to work a few hours later,
went to pre order.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
They were gone.
Speaker 7 (01:39):
Really, they were gone the whole store.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
She was able to save me like six and I
was able to pay VI evenmo and I haven't given
them to the kids yet because those are just on
special occasions. But I do have a bag, but you
cannot find them anywhere.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
That's why it's crazy.
Speaker 7 (01:55):
It's like the Beanie Baby crazies of the nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yes, kind of that.
Speaker 4 (01:58):

chance to earn a UFC contract. Man, they're just beating
their butts all day?
Speaker 6 (02:53):

and they it's like a tournament, right and whoever ends
up at the end gets gets a contract. And a
lot of champions have come from here too, So this.
Speaker 6 (03:05):

I like a panini for that reason. I don't like
when a big old fix that your mom makes a
really good thick sandwich. I do like that, but the
panini makes it. I don't know. It's it's a little
and I kind of like it. I like a panini.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
I think I don't like a panini because it reminds
me of getting a mammogram.
Speaker 7 (03:44):
Oh way to ruin sandwiches.

It was to celebrate the original.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Have we had one since then?
Speaker 7 (06:06):
Wait? What's like ninety nine? I believe? Yeah? And that
was a disaster, was it really?
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (06:10):
There's a there's a great docu series on Netflix.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
I think it's a train and was money and all. Yeah,
there's a train wreck series on it. We haven't had
one since then, Right, that's the last one, I don't
think so. All right, we're going to come back to
name those tunes from ninety four.
Speaker 3 (06:26):

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Okay? Now joining in, All right, all right, back with
Cordos corner. Inten, don't move Y'allmorrow, Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Back to school season is here and we're headed at
Cordo's Corner for some fresh school related life acts.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
What you got, honey, God, I'm just not ready for it. Well,
these are hacks to help parents avoid to burn out
during the.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
Long school year. I'm already burnout. I haven't even started.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
But by the way, let me pause for a second.
Don't we want them back in school so they're not
at home hanging out.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
No, no, no, here's a thing.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
It's just it's a bittersweet thing because when they're back
in school comes a ton of responsibilities. You have homework,
you have a million emails that you're getting from the school,
so there's a whole like it's nice the summer to
have a break from that, but you do get the
kids home, so it's you know.
Speaker 8 (08:17):
You're a parent too, got it, But you both ignore
the emails.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Yeah, you know, let go of perfectionism. Don't have unrealistic
expectations for how meals, homework or housework should look.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
Embrace good enough.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Well, I'll tell you why I respectfully disagree, because we
need to make the kids help out with the housework
even though they have school. Practice doesn't matter. That's one
of their deals.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
No, totally. But I'm a perfectionist. So when I want
something to be turned in for myself, like when I
volunteer and when I help, it's like I'm already there
volunteering and putting my own money into it like I shouldn't,
you know, have to be one hundred and fifty percent,
you know, stuff like that. I don't make the morning
get close picked out the night before, and make lunches
(09:02):
the night before to cut down on the morning chaos.
We have a uniform so it's great, but I do
even set out the uniforms the night before, even though
the kids know what they're wearing. And lunches, for sure.
I try and get everything but the perishable stuff made,
so I like the sandwiches to be fresh. But that
does help set aside a little bit of me time,
whether it's a short walk, a chapter of a book,
(09:25):
a quick coffee inside a coffee shop with a friend.
You have to take.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
Time for yourself. That's a good one mine or my workouts.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Keep a shared digital family calendar so both spouse and
teenage kids with phones can all see what's going on.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
We're all on a textirt on we the whole fan.
Speaker 5 (09:39):
Nobody reads anything, so this doesn't really work for our family,
but you.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
Guys ultimately all get there.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
Yeah, don't overschedule extracurricular activities. Having too much going on
besides school as a major burnout driver.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
You know you like to do this, Yes.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
I like to jam pack the day.
Speaker 1 (09:57):

Not even halfway into August and the holiday decorps already
popping up. In fact, home depot is apparently skipping straight
to Christmas. Oh, come on, you can't skip Halloween. That's
big a hustle.
Speaker 6 (12:31):
Low, Halloween's been out already for three months.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (12:35):
Okay, so what you've been celebrating summer ween?
Speaker 3 (12:36):
So check this out.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
Two of its giant holiday decorations have already sold out.
Hot items are an eight and a half foot Santa
carrying a lantern and an equally massive reindeer pulling a sleigh.
Oh we don't have one of those. Honey Bud costs
around three hundred bucks. Shoppers online are complaining they mister,
chance to grab one. The good news is home Depot
will likely restock them after a while. We're only about
four and a half months away. So when do the
(13:00):
Halloween decorations go up?
Speaker 5 (13:02):
They've been out, but you said we don't have them,
So I guess now would be the time to tell
you that after Christmas last year there was a sale
with a little pretty lights with a sleigh and reindeer. Oh,
that I purchased for Christmas.
Speaker 7 (13:19):
Now, where the hell are you hiding this from him?
Speaker 5 (13:21):
It's in a box still because I bought it after Christmas.
Speaker 7 (13:23):
So the best time to buy Christmas?
Speaker 5 (13:26):
To gosh, So I don't have this exactly, but we
do have something like it.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
Put that out there with that, Michael Myers, good to get?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Great? So do you understand all the workplace lingo?
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Right now? What up?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
You're on? Mari on Courtney Lopez?
Speaker 4 (13:41):
If you're gen Z, you're apparently struggling. According to a
new survey, a gen Z workers only understood about five
out of twenty four common phrases used in workplaces. Corporate
lingo that confuses the most includes in the pipeline, push
the envelope and let's take this offline. The phrase move
the needle dumped a lot of them too, as only
eighteen percent of employees of all ages and fifteen percent
(14:03):
of gen Z understood it means to make a noticeable
difference or have a significant impact. I think that's because
a lot of them aren't working.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
Well.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
There's that.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Its hard to understand workling go if you're not working.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
I asked a kid what pushed the envelope means, and
they came back and brought me an envelope and they
were pushing it.
Speaker 7 (14:23):
Wow, that doesn't shock me.
Speaker 6 (14:24):
No, I'm just kidding. Hangry that up?
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Oh you got jokes today? Okay Lopez, Yo, Mario.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
