Terrific Mario, mister Lopez. If you're nasty, I'm great.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
That's right. And you know what? The hair is looking good?
The wiggest tight today. I like it and you just
ran your fingers through it. I saw it and it's
still look at that, still remain good.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Still flu fyt too nice and slick.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Can I tell you when I just now mentioned to
our nanny that I was doing your show and she said, oh,
I love his dimples.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Oh please please send her my love. Please send her
clearly she has hm peccable taste. Congrats on the new
movie man Love on Tap. That's a fun title. It's
out now. Rom com that takes place in a brewery.
Tell me about.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
It, well, a brewery. I don't know if you drink beer, Mario?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Are you beer head? Beer drinker?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
You know, I'll be honest with you. I'm not a
big beer guy. I'll have one once in a while.
I feel full. I feel too full here yet I'm
like a straight to the vain guy. Tequila is more
my vibe. Okay, but I will, I will enjoy a
nice you know, colon with some seafood or something.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Sure, sure, all right, Well then if you're not a
huge beer guy, you might not enjoy this movie very much.
It's strictly for now. It takes place in brewery. Basically,
this gal played by Kennedy McMahon, the wonderful, wonderful actor Kennedy.
She loses her Pep pep, her dad, dad, who owned
(01:29):
a brewery, okay, and when he died he left it
to her. She's in over her head and in comes
a big city consultant to help her fix all the
problems with the brewery. And that's where the moth dog
comes in a lady and sues love and sues. My
wife is in it, Carolyn Kingsley. There's an alpaca in it,
and a whole cast of wonderful characters. So it's areat time.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I love it, and like I said, I think the
title is very clever. You mentioned your wife. Is this
the first time you've all worked together?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
We've worked together, I mean historically we used to do
shows together all the time. Before I was on Saturday
Night Lives.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
We wrote and performed a two person.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Musical together called Hill and Bill, a Broadway Karaoke Clinton
Musical Spectacular Fun.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
And that was super fun. She was Hillary, I was Bill.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
But since then we've not gotten gotten to do a
ton together. So this is kind of our return to form.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Nice man, Nice, I too work with my wife. She'll
only take me in spurts, though I hear the day here,
the day there.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, that's all.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
That's all she can handle. You also joined the cast
of another rom com starring Cameron Diaz. What can you
tell me about that one?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Not a ton, only that it's called The Sham formerly
The Sham Marriage. She and Steve Stephen Merchant wrote and
directed and stars in it. And I'm like a diehard
office fan, so when I got offered the chance to
do that, I was like, oh my god, as long
as I can bug him fifty times a day on set.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
I'd being like, hey, you remember when Garrett said the
thing about the shark, And He's like, I'm not really
it was twenty five years ago. I have a job
to do.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
But he was very he was always busting my chops
because I was so nerding out the whole time.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
But it was great.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Oh, that's cool. And you also got a Christmas movie
coming out later this year called Unbearable Christmas. Julia Styles, Yes,
Kellan Ray, David Cross, I love a good holiday woman woman. Hello,
as my wife walks in, I love a good holiday movie.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Holiday Woman.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
That was funny timing. What's the premise of this one?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
The way?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I do love a good holiday woman too.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
And who doesn't love a good holiday woman?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
So in this particular Holiday woman, there's a family. Julia
Stiles is my holiday woman and we are a married couple.
We've got two kids. There's a Teddy Bear involved. There's
a road trip there, David Cross. You might see with
no clothes on. Stephen Root is in this thing. Caroline Ray,
(04:15):
it is. It's just a gem of a Christmas movie.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I loved it. That's fun and fun. Fact Al Roker
makes a little cameo.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Oh a little cameo from Al. Okay, okay, if you're
looking out for that, and you just wrapped a Broadway run.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Correct, I did? Well?
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yes, I mean you know off Broadway Broadway. Who's counting?
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Got him?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Got it?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I mean I do count The number of seats is
a theater, and that's what delineates Broadway from off Broadway.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
But yeah, Bigfoot the musical. It was a freaking.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Gas and it sounds hilarious.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
It was great.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I played an unsavory, oft drunk, small town mayor in
a West Virginia town.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
It was a blast. I got to pretend I'm a
real song and dance man.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
You have you done Broadway?
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Yes, sir, what did you do? I met my wife
doing Broadway did a chorus line, yeah, back back in
two thousand and eight. So I'm like, really, and that's
where you guys met, That's where we met. How many
seats were in the theater? Yeah, I don't know how
many seats?
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Right, yeah, how many seats?
Speaker 1 (05:21):
But yeah, I know it's always a special treat when
we get to go back and see and see these shows,
Broadway shows.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, well thanks for coming out to see you Bigfoot.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You know what. I was not aware of it, to
be honest, but if it was still running, I'd go
check it out because it sounds like my kind of shows.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Filario, Can I ask you a question? And this is sincere.
I don't know, I have no idea how old you are.
I'm not going to ask. I'm sure I could google it.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
You have an aged in twenty five years right. I'm
not blowing smoke, but I as a as a very
vain person who wants to cling to my youth as
long as I can can. I ask just one thing
that you you employ that you.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Do I ironically mentioned it earlier. I don't drink beer.
I drink tequila. It's sort of like embalming fluid and
h keeps you preserved.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Ah, that is the fountain of you.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
There we go, But thank you. I appreciate the kind words.
But man, I appreciate the kind words.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
That Batty who's seen you age or not age, has
the same thought.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
They're like, what the he's frozen his.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Later, Alex, I'll say that, and just for men, otherwise
I'd be looking like Anderson Cooper.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Now that looks so natural, my friend.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Thank you, thank you. You mentioned Saturday Night Live earlier.
I remember, man, you were you were graded impressions. What
was the first one you you nailed down? And is
there a certain technique you use in perfecting it?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Ooh uh, first one I nailed down? I mean the
first impression I got to do on that show was
Eric Trump. It was my first week mikey Day and
Vanessa Bayer and Streeter Sidell and I all wrote an update.
And I had just seen this picture that the Trump
(07:11):
family put out that was like Millennials for Trump, and
it was his like three adult children just kind of
like all very seriously looking to the camera like, yeah,
we're all cool kids, right, we all want to vote
for our dad.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
And Eric just looked like he was in a different
picture of the rest of penment. So I just kind
of took that and ran with it.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Sometimes it's just a little seed of a thing that
makes me go, Okay, now, I'm just going to invent
a character. Like my impression of Eric Trump a spoiler
alert wasn't exactly spot on, So I think half of
it is just inventing a character for it.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Yeah, I love impressions. Do you still get on stage
and do some improv or.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Here and there?
Speaker 3 (07:52):
I do. I do more stand up than improv or
even sketch these days.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Stand up.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I tour a out of just got back from doing
a good weekend of shows in Denver. I'm going to
be at Rooster t Feathers in the Bay Area, Okay
in September brags it's a spam Risk.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
My friend spam Risk is calling me. I love all right?
Speaker 1 (08:18):
And where can people find you if they want to
see you on stage?
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I you know, I'm horrible at social media and I
in fact hated I think it's the downfall of humanity.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
However, if that's.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
The thing and you're looking to find me doing it,
if I'm coming to your town, that's where you can
find me.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Come. It's Moffitt Picks. I didn't pick the name.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
My my friend Pete Davidson chose Moffat Picks and started
an Instagram page for me and I've kept it.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Okay, Moffitt Picks and we'll put it up here as well.
