Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real fun with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Hi, so bro, Mario Lopez joining you right now that
Hilaria's Judy career.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
How you doing, Judy.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'm good.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
I just ate a peanut. Sorry, I'm chewing.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
That's all right. Get in there and you're well clothed.
We've established that.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, yeah, well booked.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Congrat Season two we're hit Apple TV mystery thriller The
Last Thing You Told Me is airing now.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
It's with Jennifer Garner.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
For people who may not be familiar with the premise,
what's it about?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
It is based on the book of the same title,
Club Last Thing You Told Me by Laura Dave. It's
about a woman whose husband sort of disappears into thin air,
and she and her stepdaughter have to kind of figure
out where he is and why he disappeared. Season two
gets more into trying to make sure once he has
(00:50):
found that he won't be hunted down again and trying
to thwart the people looking for him. I hope Laura Dave,
the author, would not be mad with how I just
described it, But that's my interpretation of season two.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
No, I get it, And you play Quinn, who's the
daughter of the crime boss, right.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I am the daughter of the man looking for Owen.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yes, got it, got it?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
And of course you acted in all kinds of different
types of shows and movies. But a lot of people
know you for your comedic stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Does it?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Do you have more just more fond Do you prefer
the drama just as a break and stuff?
Speaker 1 (01:25):
But because comedy is hard.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yes, and you would know it's harder than people.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Think, right, it really is.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
It really is having so much fun, but there's a
lot of intricacies to timing and all of that stuff.
I mean, some of it does land on an editor,
thank god. But I don't know. I always have a
ton of fun being I mean, being in a drama
isn't always fun, but when you're playing a bad guy,
it's usually brave. And I would say that Quinn, she
(01:53):
sort of teeters between having really good intentions and being
a little bit sneaky.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
That sounds like fun character right there.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah, it's especially fun working with Jennifer Garner and and
and like we always joke about how we never get
to play friends in anything, and so here we are
again kind of butting heads.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, and in this summer you've got another one, right
called the Five Star Weekend.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah yeah, yeah, and then that one also, I am
kind of coming in and and and I'm like thwarting
the five Stars on this weekend. I'm also sort of
like messing things up.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Oh fun, fun. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
And and there's another, yet another dark comedy I know.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
It just premiered us out by Southwest a few weeks back.
Chili Finger.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, that's a fun title. That's a fun toy of
cool casto. You got John Goodman, Brian Kranston, Sean Aston.
And that is that based on true events?
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yes, it is loosely based on something that actually did happen,
where a woman put a severed finger in a bowl
of chili at a restaurant and tried to extort money
from them. Oh wow.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
But the writer directors, they took that idea.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
And kind of ran with it.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
And I play the woman who does this, and she's
trying to get money because she wants to visit her daughter.
She's become an empty nester and she wants to visit
her daughter in college, and she's kind of losing her mind,
missing her and wondering, like you know that existential moment
when you're like what is it all about? Some people
(03:25):
take yoga, other people put severed fingers in chili and
try to get money. I mean, we're all different.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
You know, No, right, I don't judge. I think I
remember this, what like, what year was this?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
I don't remember exactly because not that long ago was
it Wendy's chili? It was Wendy's chili? Right, Well, I'm
not saying that out loud. No, you don't say it,
but I want to.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Say, maybe pandemic.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
It was like within the last ten years. Yeah, and
then is this how do you get caught? And how
are you just running around with you're.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
In the movie. I don't want to spoil it.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Okay, we'll have to see it. Then we'll have to
see it to see it.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
And last one, your shows stick with Owen Wilson just
got renewed to I show.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
That Owen Wilson is in. You said it that way.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yes, that's exactly how I'm pitching it for now.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
That's what we're an apple as well.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Might Joe stick that I've let Owen Wilson be.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
A part of the one that you allow, oh and
to visit once in a while.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
I do.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
He's nice. Have you guys started shooting that, yet we just.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Wrapped season two two weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Nice, anything you could tease us with the upcoming season
or it remains under wraps.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
No, I'm not teasing anything. I love this season a
lot because we get to see Owen's character on the
golf course more and golfing on the golf course, I
should say, which I think is really really exciting. I
think we all wanted that in season one. We wanted
to see Price k Hill be praise k hell of
(05:00):
the golfer, and so I hope I'm not going to
get in trouble for saying that, but that's what I
really enjoyed. I was outside a lot this season.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Do you play I'm his.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Ex wife, but we have stayed very close. Our relationship
is now like of good friends.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
So I like it.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I like that I don't have to fight with Owen
will Gotten.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
You know what I'm saying. Do you play golf by chance?
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Or no? Oh?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Do I play?
Speaker 2 (05:27):
No? No?
Speaker 3 (05:28):
But I was creaming it free golf clubs, but they
were on to me.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
You.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I get it, I get it. Who's got time for that?
What scenes do you play in the What scenes are
you golfing in the show? So we can make sure
to get you the right club. There you go, take
advantage of that.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, I tried, okay, but I'm not a liar.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I couldn't lie about it.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I'm too midwestern and nice an actress weekend.
