Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mario fun with Mario.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Lopez, Sobriel Mario Lopez is joining me now on Zoom
from buying Beverly Hills on Netflix. Mauricio Umansky and his
daughter Farah, Welcome to the show. Thank you, thanks well,
thanks for taking the time. It's nice to meet you, Sarah.
I've talked to your dad a bunch over the years.
How is it working with your dad on camera and

(00:25):
off camera and just that whole dynamic.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
It's always been so much fun. It's the best. We
always say this, but it's true. We love hanging out together,
so it's only natural that we work together and we
love it. We love it, and now that my sisters
are in the mix, it's even more fun.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Did you all go through a phase like around thirteen,
because that's where my daughter is now, where you're shutting
the door, you're not talking to dad. Everything I say
is just it couldn't be further from whatever she wants
to hear. And it's just like a rough pat right now?
Or am I just experiencing that?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
I mean, what do you remember? I don't remember, Mario.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
That is one hundred percent the way life works. There's
a little patch where they just have no interest in you.
But I have good news for you. They want they
want you back. They circle back, it circles back. I
promise you it's one hundred percent back.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
That's good, that's.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
That's that's that's good here because right now I'm like, Yo,
what's going on here? I'm feeling no appreciation.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Yeah, You've been loved for thirteen years and right now
she has no interest.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
In you, no interest.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
She looks at me like, well, you just keep dancing
with her. Good.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
That's the only reason I don't know where I get
my time with her, exactly. Congratulations on season two of
Buying Beverly Hills. How much of the season is devoted
to personal drama? How much is business?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Is it a hybrid, Mario, It's totally a hybrid. You know,
we were filming. We were filming and cameras were up
and running.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
When we when when when Kyle and I you know,
went through our issues and you know, decided to separate.
And the truth is that, you know, we thought long,
hard about you know, what we wanted to do, and
we decided to just be you know, open and transparent
and vulnerable you know, during the season and not try
to hide it because you know, if you try to
hide anything, you try to hide your.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Feelings, it just it shows on camera.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
You can't hide reality television, and so I think it's
going to be a show that just shows a little
bit of everything. There's a hybrid of personal stuff. There's
a great real estate, some amazing gorgeous houses. I like
to say, you're amazing real estate porn and great great
lessons to be learned on both in my opinion, you know,

(02:37):
as a as a husband, as a father, as a daughter,
as a you know, real estate agent, just all the
way around.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I'm very excited about this show and what it has
to deliver on real estate.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Porn is the only kind of porn I watch. So
I'm looking forward to that. Do you rewatch the challenging
moments or is it better to just kind of you
shot it and you let it stay.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
In the past.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
I personally just let it go. I shot it, I
let it stay in the past. I know where we're at.
I know where we are. It's sometimes it's very difficult
to see again and watch again and get to go
through the feelings again. But uh, you know, we know
where we are, we know where we stand, and so
you know, to have to go relive it.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
It's just too hard.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
I like to rewatch it just because I you know,
I think it's it almost helps me get over it
if I can just see it and be okay with it.
And even if we have moved on. Of course, I'm
also curious, you know, what is everybody else seeing? So
I'm guilty of rewatching. Probably I'll probably rewatch this multiple
multiple times.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Now I could see that. I can see it being
therapeutic that way. What about what about the business. What's
happening in the business. What's going on? Chel A Weigan?
Are the is it interest rates going to get down
or what?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Well? I certainly hope.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
So look, business is tough, you know, and it's been difficult,
and you know, we definitely thrive, and I think that
that's just one of these you know, it's it's reality,
like we're showing the reality of life, and just rates
are high. You know, in California we've got the ULA tax,
which is the mansion tax, you know for everybody outside
of Los Angeles that don't know what that is, which

(04:09):
has definitely slowed things down. I mean, we all see
what's happening right now, just all the way across you know,
the board. But you know, you know, one of the
great things about a television show is in reality is
that sometimes you can just show what you're dealing with
and your struggles, and you know, it doesn't all have
to be incredible stuff. I mean, we do have incredible stuff.
We have incredible moments. We you know, we traveled to Aspen,

(04:31):
we travel to Miami, we have a ton of fun.
We sell some great real estate, but we show the
struggles of real life, and I'm really excited for people
to see that and learn that.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Sarah, do you see your role more as a mentor now?
I think both.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
I I'm always reaching out to more senior agents. I'm
always learning from Marico. I have a lot of my
own mentors, but for sure for my sisters, for some
of the younger agents in the company, I'm absolutely a
mentor for that.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
What do you think is the biggest is a real leader?

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Man.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
She's she is awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
You know, she is an absolute badass and she's incredible.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
She's got don't let her be humble.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
She's got like seven or eight escos going on right
now that she's handling all herself.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Look at that, and she's crushing it. I love it.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I love when you're able to kind of keep everything
in the family. I think that's I think that's great.
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have
about high end real estate?

Speaker 4 (05:28):
And it's easy and that you and then you snap
your fingers and you make a million bucks, Like that
is not the case.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
You shake hands and then that's it and then you
get your check. That is so far from the trip.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, no, it's definitely a process. No, between this, uh
Mauricio and Housewives, is there ever a moment when the
cameras aren't around or are you just so used to
it now that it's your your prep no matter what.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, we're so used to it at this moment, you know.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
And time and and last year with both of them
filming kind of a completely like literally we were finishing
filming The Housewives, we were starting to film buying Beverly Hills.
So it was just it was a long year with
a lot of cameras in our face. Last year for sure,
during a difficult you know year as well.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
So, yeah, very is real.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
And how was that for you, Sarah? Just throughout the years?
Was it something initially that you were maybe reluctant to
embrace or were you cool.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
With it from the get Yeah, when it came to
us doing our own show, I was a little reluctant
in versus because I've always been kind of on the
peripherty of my mom show. So I just got the
benefit of just the fun and kind of it being easy.
And there was a moment also since this is about
our business and very conscientious about keeping you know, professionalism
in mind, all those things. But at the end of

(06:45):
the day, it is a re up with these show,
but it's about real estate, and I think we're doing
a great thing and having a lot of teaching moments.
So I decided to embrace, you know, embrace it and
see where it would take us. And I think it's
been great.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yeah, good for you. I think that's the that's the
right attitude. Well, congratulations on everything and we look forward
to checking it out buying. Beverly Hills is streaming right
now on Netflix. H Mauricio Fair, thanks for checking in.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Thank you buddy. All right, buddy, we'll see you soon.
Take you out by
