Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real fun with Mario Lopez's.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yo with Mario Lopez joining me right now. Actor is
Stephen Baldwyn, I doing Stephen.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
I'm doing terrific hanging out here with you.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Nice, Thank you for taking the time, and congrats. You've
got a new podcast you started this year called One
Bad Movie, and you're essentially taking a look at some of.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
The bad movies in Hollywood history. Right, What a fun premise.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
It's also like going to folks like you, Mario and saying,
what's your favorite one bad movie experience? Now, let's say
there's something you did X number of years ago and
you got food poisoning, but nobody knows that story. We
get these behind the scenes stories that are very unique
and unusual, and then it kind of just goes into
like a cool, fun, regular interview, but just from a

(00:47):
different angle.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
That is a very clever angle. And oh my gosh,
I've got a lot of material for you.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
That's the point.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
That's the point exactly.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
And your guests come on, they talk about their their
own bad movies, and I'm pretty sure everyone's had both
bad movies and bad experiences on them. And what about yourself,
what's your mount rushmore of bad movie experiences.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Well, when we started One Bad Movie, Mario, the story
goes like this, I was in my car listening to
a famous actor talk about a movie that had coming out,
and you and I both know we've done those pr tours,
said the same.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Thing over and over again.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
I'm in my car and I go, Gee, wouldn't it
be nice to hear this guy talk about is one
bad movie? And I went one bad movie. Wow, that's weird.
And then talk to my team and they were like,
this could be really cool. That was a year ago,
and here we are. The Michael Madson interview we just
had recently went completely viral. D Denise Richards is the
current episode that's on iHeartRadio and YouTube. Just go to

(01:46):
One Bad Movie and it's already moving pretty quick. This
is fun, Mario, because it's just fun. This is not
your usual Hollywood interview. It's just totally different outside the box.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, and you can look back and laugh at it
and have some fun within people let down their garden stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Do you have a particular favorite bad movie?

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Well that I didn't finish the joke there forgive Me,
which was in the research of my like over one
hundred films you know whatever. Some of them were just
sci fi whatever is this that I didn't even really remember.
I thought, oh, I have like seven kind of sketchy movies,
you know, I just did them for the money. Whatever,
you know, some horrible I did one called Sharks in Venice,
where I play a shark expert that goes to Venice,

(02:27):
Italy because there's sharks in the canals of Venice, Italy.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Exactly. No, it's but it's brilliant, you know.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
It's like those scenes where I'm like, I'm only a
shock expert, damn it.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
It's just those lines, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
It's right.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
We're just talking to movie people, industry writers, directors, actors,
tons of actors, and it's You're invited when we're back
up in February, mister Lopez, we'd love to have you
on one bad movie, sir.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
I appreciate it. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Won't take you up on that, sir, So thank you,
thank you? Yeah, no cause, grats on that. And also
you're in the new season of Special Forces on Fox.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
How was the experience?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Okay, So now I can't joke around now because if
you're a physical fitness guy too, this was beyond I
won Fear Factor when Joe Rogan was the host, almost
thirty years ago. I'm a Fear Factor champion, Mario. Wow,
so you know, so here comes special Forces. I'm thinking, listen,

(03:29):
if I break my leg or whatever, you know, that's it.
I'm done anyway. So let me just get in here
and see how bad is I'm a skydiver. I've done
some kind of crazy stuff. I love Skydiving's my favorite,
but it's dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.
So I wanted to just test myself, show up and
do a show that kind of honors and respects our military.
A huge supporter of our military, and I can't tell

(03:51):
you what happened.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
But it was beyond brutal, way harder.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Now I'm going I'm going to go there now, Mario,
I was ten years older than anybody else.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
On the show.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Good for you.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Carrie Hart was like, you know, you know we had
Cam Newton please, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
He's a monster.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
I lose in thumb wrestling to Cam Newton. Okay, yeah,
So but the show was wild. It was powerful.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
It forget challenging psychologically and physically.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
It was beyond that. It was it was just dang scary.
I wouldn't say it was life changing. Just you'll see
what happens.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Okay, that's a good teaser right there.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Now, I've had many conversations with your brother Billy, because
he wrestled, and yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
And I'm a wrestler. Myself grew it up. My grew
up doing it. My boys are now doing it. Did
you wrestle? Any of your other brothers wrestled? I was
always curious.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Daniel and myself also wrestled. Oh nice.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Billy and Daniel were kind of the guys that did
better than me, you know, at the high school and
collegiate level. And you know, I didn't go to, you know,
a college for sports and I went to an acting college.
But those guys went to college for sports. But particularly
Billy was quite successful at scholastic wrestling and in college,

(05:05):
so much so that he does a lot of commentary
for it to this day.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah, but I love that you were a wrestler. Let's
go do a documentary on some wrestling.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Bro sounds good, sounds good. We'll have to talk about
that all right. Oh that's good to hear man. And lastly,
your grandpa, Now, how are you liking.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
That I'm a grandpa again, mar are you a grandpa?

Speaker 3 (05:24):
I am not.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I had a late start, Steve, and my kids are
only I have to stop and think about this fourteen eleven.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Which you had a late start because you're so handsome.
That's the reason you had a late start. That's a difference.
I'm with the same gal thirty eight years. Wow, that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Good for you.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah, yeah, I'm blessed.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
But yeah, little baby jack Blues is here and we
are just taking our time as we watch mister and
missus Bieber snuggle this kid. I think everybody's really understanding
they're just spending quality time at home and just trying
to relax for.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
The holidays with baby Chack Blues. It's beautiful to watch.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Well, congratulations on that, and I really appreciate you taking
the time to speak with you today and listen. Be
sure to check out Steven's podcast One Bad Movie on
iHeartRadio and in the new season of the Fox show
