Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's time for donkey of the day. There's a bunch
of donkeys out here in this street. I'll make donkey
of the day. Called donkey of the day. It really
caught me off guard.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
We live a life where we bite our tongue based
off who we may offend. We never would say anything.
Give it to him. Give it to him.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
You are a donkey. That is why Charlemagne is here.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Ha ha ha.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Some donkey todays just saw themselves. On The Breakfast Club. Okay, Chalamet,
who you giving donkey of the day to today?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Well, donkey of the day for Thursday, September 10th goes
to Andrew Dick and Feather Roberts of Oklahoma. Now, these
two individuals were arrested after police said they left three
of their kids, eight years old, five years old, and
one years old, home alone so they could go play pickleball.
I can't make this kind of stuff up. Let's go
to Oklahoma on 6 News for the report, please.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Two Glenpool parents are facing child neglect charges after police
found three young children home alone while the parents were
off playing pickleball. Police arrested Andrew Dick and Feather Roberts
Saturday after officers responded to a 911 hang-up call and
found an 8-year-old, 5-year-old, and 1-year-old without adult supervision. The
parents were 20 minutes away in Bixby at a sports complex.

(01:11):
They told officers the children had access to an iPad
to call for help if needed. Both face three counts
of child neglect. The children were not hurt, and police
say DHS has been notified.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Listen, Feather Dick. What ages were the kids again?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
What ages were the kids again? Eight, five, and one. Okay? Eight, five,
and one. Listen, to the Feather Dick couple, all right?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I want to play a game against what race it is,
but I don't think it's necessary, because this might be
the whitest child neglect story I've.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Ever heard in my life. Okay? I know, I know.
Leaving your kids home alone is not just a white thing.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Even though there's a whole hit movie franchise about it
starring white people.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
But negligent parents do come in every race, religion, and
tax bracket. But we know what makes this story white. Ah!

Speaker 1 (01:53):
And that's pickleball.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
OK, Caucasian pickleball court commitment is real.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
This is privileged paddle parenting.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
And what pisses me off about this story.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Is they absolutely knew better. Because when you read more
into the story, they also have a fourth child who's
an infant. And police say they got a babysitter for
the baby. So they know how this works. OK, they
secured child care for the baby, but left the other
three to the mercy of Disney +. Or maybe YouTube, okay?
Peppa Pig on YouTube. That keeps the kids in one

(02:24):
spot for some hours. But I do want to say, though,
my how times have changed, okay? Were our parents committing
a crime when they was leaving us to fend for
ourselves when we was kids? I was for sure getting
off the bus at 8 and going to my grandma's
house and being there alone until an adult came. Y'all
ain't never did that when y'all was young? Or y'all
don't want to put y'all parents in an incriminating situation?

Speaker 1 (02:49):
My mama said, don't answer that door, don't answer the phone.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
That's all I'm saying. I grew up in an era
where nothing happened was a parenting strategy, okay? All right,
thank you, God, for covering us when our parents was
leaving us home alone, okay? In the case of Andrew
Dick and Feather Roberts... Police allege this wasn't the first
time the children have been left alone.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
You think? OK, that's how bad decisions get comfortable. All right.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
You do something once, get away with it. And the
next time it doesn't feel quite as reckless. OK, ain't
nothing going to happen to these kids. They'll be fine.
We're only 20 minutes away. I'm telling you, nothing is
going to happen is a parenting strategy for some people.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
And it's all good until today.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
It's not. OK, and the way my parental paranoia is
set up and if you don't know what parental paranoia is,
it's the anxiety that we experience as parents.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
OK, the way mine is set up, I could never.
All right. Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Parents deserve lives. OK, parents deserve to go out. They
deserve to have hobbies. They deserve to have date nights.
Go play pickleball until your little suburban heart is content.
We deserve that. But get a damn babysitter.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
OK, that's it.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Having kids means sometimes your plans get canceled because you
don't have a babysitter. You don't got nobody to watch
the kids. That's parenting, okay? Sometimes you don't get the dink.
And if you don't know what dink is, it's a
soft shot in pickleball.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:07):
And sometimes when you can't find a babysitter, you have
to put the paddle down and stay your ass at home.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
If you don't, you will find yourself in a pickle
like these parents. Please give the Feather Dick couple, Andrew
Dick and Feather Roberts, the sweet sounds of the Hamiltons.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Oh, now you are the donkey.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
So dumb.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
See, that's the feather dicks on the screen.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
They're so stupid. You didn't see them? No, I missed them.
I'll put that picture back up. See, that's the feather.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I'm sorry for those watching on the radio, but for
those looking at home on Netflix. Those watching on the radio,
they are very much Caucasian, as you would think.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
But we play pickleball, too. Oh, for real? Who's weak?
Black people play pickleball. I don't.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
No, black people play.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I know.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Not as often as, not as much as white people,
but they do. You never tried? I've played pickleball. That's
how I know the black people play it.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I mean, I'm black.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Sometimes.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
All right.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Thank you for that donkey today. Now, Jess is out.
Usually it's just fix my mess. But if you have
relationship issues or problems, you can ask C & E.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I just want the record to sold. They have pickleball demographics.
I just want you to know that.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Demographics.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And according to recent pickleball demographics in 2026 data, the
racial breakdown of players generally looks like this. White individuals
account for roughly 69 to 80% of the player base
in the United States. And then Hispanic Latinos, 12%.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Asians, 9%. Oh, wow.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Black African Americans make up about 6%. All right. It'll
be a sprinkle, like very few. It's like three of
us out there. Three of us.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
All right.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
All right. Call us up right now at C & E.
It's The Breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
