Speaker 1 (00:01):
Maybe it's time for Donkey of the Day. There's a
bunch of donkeys out the street. Don't get a day
called Donkey of the Day. It really caught me off guard.
If you live a life where we might are tongue
based off who we may have finised, you never would
say anything. You are a donkey.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
That is why Charlamagne some donkey Today's just seldomself on
the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Okay, Charlamage, we'll be giving Donkey of the Day too today.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
You know, this is why I like Let's being live
on Netflix, because stuff like that happens all the time
when people just be popping up, pulling up, and you
don't get to see it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
But you got to see Cheryl lond Wood this one.
She'll be joining us again tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
But donkey today for Wednesday, June tenth goes to fifty
nine year old Fort to a fifty nine year old
Fort Pierced pastor named Gwendolyn Denise Role now Pierces in Florida.
And what does younkle Shalla always say about Florida. The
craziest people in America come from the Bronx and all
of Florida and today there's no exception. See Gwendolyn is
(00:59):
facing five count some child neglect with great bodily harm
after she allegedly abused five siblings.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
She took in the headline says and I quote.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Past the eight, KFC and Popeyes while her foster kids stopped.
Let's go to twenty five WPBF News for the report.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Police.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
This is fifty nine year old Gwendolyn Roll. For Pierce
Police say she's a pastor at a local church and
up until last week, served as an unofficial foster parent
for five siblings, ages four through nine, after their father
left them and her care. Two of those kids are
nonverbal and attend a special needs school.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
They were just left there for her to care for.
She is not a licensed forced to care parent. She
was doing a favor for somebody and what ended up
happening was the sequence of events for this was that
she neglected their childcare.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
According to Roll's arrest affidavit, last Tuesday, police got an
anonymous tip reporting abuse and neglect that Rolls home on
Booker Street, and when officers got there, they say they
found the home in a deplorable state.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
That house has two bathrooms. One and the master and
one for open use of the rest of the house.
That bathroom was completely gutted, so there was no shower,
there was no bathtub. There was a toilet that was
completely stuffed clogged.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
I've already say Roll kept the master bathroom locked when
she wasn't at home.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
We had reports tonight, witness information that the kids were
using the bathroom in a bucket outside of the house.
That was the only way they were allowed to use
the bathroom.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Now, if these allegations are true, let me take this
time on the breakfast club this morning and remind folks.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
What the pasta actually is.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Okay, the word pasta comes from the Latin word for shepherd.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Okay. A shepherd feeds the flock. Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
A shepherd protects the flock. A shepherd comforts the flock.
A shepherd lays down their life for the flock.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Okay. A shepherd does not neglect the flock.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
All right, and the flock would have had popeyes, okay,
the flock would have had KFC.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
See somewhere along the way we've gotten confused.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Okay, we've made being.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
A pastor about you know, you know, microphones and titles
and church anniversaries and the Facebook, Instagram live sermons. But
being a pastor isn't about how loud you preach. It's
about how well you serve. And past the Gwendolen de
nice role did not serve these kids well at all.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Jesus said, whatever you do unto the late of these,
you've done unto me, which means how you treat the vulnerable.
You know that that is the ministry, okay, Not the
sermon all right, not the collection plate okay, not the
title in front of your name, is how you actually
treat people. And if these allegations are true, Denying children
basic necessities okay, you know, denying them a place to
(03:39):
properly shower, okay, denying them chicken all right, forcing them
to use Buckets's bathrooms, and allegedly terrorizing them, abusing them,
that's not ministry.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
That's misery. Okay. Are you a shepherd al wolf pastor? Okay? See,
I need people to understand something.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
God calls pastors to be servants.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
And then the first, you know, the church isn't just
the building, okay, The church is actually the people to me, right,
the church isn't the building at all like, the church
is the people. So if you are supposed to be
ministering these kids, pouring into these kids, that's what you're
supposed to do.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Okay, they're kids. Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
There are people that can't defend themselves. And that's why
this story hurts so much, because whenever someone claiming to
represent God is accused of doing the exact opposite of
what God requires, they don't just harm people.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
They damage people's faith.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
They damage people's trust, and they damage people's understanding of
what love and God is supposed to look like. Okay,
a pastor's job is not to impress people with scripture,
but to reflect God's character.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
In God's character is love and protection and compassion, service
and sharing the chicken. Okay, Jesus fed five thousand people
with five loaves of bread and two fish.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
You could have fed five kids with a ten dollars
bigger box. There is a way.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
If you can't care for the most vulnerable among us,
then you have no business calling yourself a shepherd of
God's people. Please let her me my get pastor pastor
Gwyendolyn role the biggest Hea Hall police.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
